New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

@MamaBanana12 I could be wrong but having done a 'hard twist' bonus dose this morning I'm pretty sure you can just turn till the 1 lines up in the window as usual to get the same dose as usual. It very much seemed like it to me.

akaFrosty · 01/05/2025 10:48

MamaBanana12 · 01/05/2025 10:38

Does anyone know how much the bonus dose in a 5mg pen is an equivalent too? Say I get 0.6ml out of the pen - how much is that in terms of dosage?

i took 5mg 4th jab Monday. Wanted to do bonus dose tmoro before I go on hols (not taking pens away) but conscious it may be a bigger dose than5mg ?? I get huge suppression on 5mg and my next pen is 5mg

0.6ml is a full dose on every pen, so it will be 5mg. Enjoy your holiday.

akaFrosty · 01/05/2025 11:04

Good morning. Well done for all the losses and NSVs. @TheSpoonyNavyReader you look great in that dress, and I can definitely see a difference with your rings/hands.

W7D2
I weighed yesterday, but didn't have time to post.
SW 15st 8.5lbs
CW 14st 9.5lbs
Loss this week - 1lb

I did 4 weeks of 2.5, golden dose of 3.0, then last week 3.75. Strange last week as I was either starving or couldn't eat at all. Things settled down though by the end of the week.

I'm happy the weight is moving but it's so slow! Yesterday I took my first 5mg dose so I'm hoping things speed up a little. No SE so far from 5mg, feeling good and that low feeling I had has disappeared thank goodness. At around week 2, I was losing loads of hair. Every time I washed or brushed it, there was a handfull on the floor. I started taking collagen powder (ancient and brave true collagen) approx 5 weeks ago, and it's really helped. Shedding is back to normal, so money well spent. I'm hoping it will help my skin too in the long run.

I'm a bit behind on the thread but have been looking out for your post. Did you do London? Or Manchester? Huge well done as it was so hot. I was in London supporting DH and it was exhausting. Congratulations 🎊

Manchester - it was roasting! 50 minutes slower than last year, but I'm heavier/less fit than I was then and by the end I was just happy to have survived!

Bubbless31 · 01/05/2025 11:43

Morning all, woke up this morning still feeling horrific and my partner (who knows I’m on this) made me call 111 as he was worried I was going to pass out. They didn’t seem overly concerned at all and just said to call back if I don’t feel better tomorrow?! Anyway, I’ve since rallied slightly and have managed some more liquids and a slice of toast!! Hopefully this is the start of the improvements because I have lovely weekend plans without my children that I’m desperate to enjoy!

TheBossOfMe · 01/05/2025 11:48

@Bubbless31 Take some electrolytes, they really help.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/05/2025 11:59

@seasidehuntera marathon is a marathon! DH wanted sub 4 and was on track for it. Great training block and all the right prep. Wheels fell off at 12 miles due to the heat and he changed his plan to just finish. Got 4.56 and he was pleased. There were many casualties of the heat so you did amazing to finish. Huge well done 👏

I had retired from marathons but after Sunday I'm wondering whether I have one more in me. Seems daft to finish on 9 as i think 10 is a better number... But then I think about miles 22 onwards and remember how awful they are 🤣

sorry to hear you feeling so poorly. Could it be something else or addition to MJ triggering it. My multivitamins triggers nausea for me so don’t take it 2 after jab also if I eat too much carbs I get indigestion and heartburn , if I eat something fatty I get D and vomited once on 2.5 after having a couple of chips.

Try ice lollies or ice cubes , give this to my DC’s when they have D&V as it gives some fluid and also something cold sometimes helps an upset stomach or at least it will cool you in the hot weather

also ginger works amazing , they sell like ginger sweet cubes jelly sort of things in most superstores like Asda and Tesco

I wouldn’t recomend this but I have a glass of Diet Coke a day with my lunch as it seems to help with heartburn after a meal and get all the burps needed out (I grew up that full fat coke resolved D&V so it’s probably a mind thing 😂)

northernlight20 · 01/05/2025 16:23

Hi everyone, I have a nsv today. Been off work for the last 3weeks. Came in today and someone approached me and asked if I’d lost some weight, made me feel amazing.

Puddingpiper · 01/05/2025 18:39

Flamethrowers · 01/05/2025 06:42

I weighed myself this morning and... my BMI is 24.9!!!!!!! This is a healthy BMI! I've gone from 73.8kg (BMI 28 with high cholesterol) to 65.7 kg in 8 weeks and 5 days. I haven't weighed this for five years. I can fit into my box of old clothes. I'm walking taller just in time for the spring heatwave.

BUT - while part of me is really really pleased there is another part of me that is worried. I cannot sustain this diarrhea, which has been on and off for two weeks. Chat gpt thinks I have developed a temporary lactose intolerance as I can't eat Greek yogurt and would not dare eat cheese. I am eating what I can and I generally eat healthily (yesterday I had a protein smoothy, chicken soup, an avocado and crackers and a bowl of Greek yogurt and fruit (that lasted five minutes...). I am drinking lots of water. I am walking 10,000 steps a day and going to a Pilates and one PT session each eeek. But I am fatigued. I would really like to get to my goal weight of 60kg (which would be a BMI of 22.5) but I don't want to exhaust myself!!!! I haven't shifted from 2.5 all this time and I'm definitely not increasing my dose! I'd happily give myself thrrr months to loose the remaining ten pounds but I can't seem to slow down the weight loss which plateaus and then whooshes.

Edited

I am intermittently dairy intolerant normally just in time to go away on holiday it flares up badly. I was advised to eliminate all dairy for a minimum of of 6 weeks then gradually reintroduce with lower lactose options such as Parmesan cheese first. I go through this cycle twice a year normally. Although have had to accept I cannot have high lactose food in large quantities eg milky coffees from Starbucks (I have almond or oat), cheese sauce, custard etc

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 01/05/2025 18:56

@Flamethrowers well done on the healthy BMI! What a great milestone to reach. I'm still working on "overweight" but I am confident I'll get there.

I can't remember who else I was going to tag, im useless at this.

Excellent news on the NSV fir everyone too, I have my own - I wore a dress to work today that I couldn't wear last time I tried it, and today it was loose!

Yetanotherusername2000 · 01/05/2025 19:33

Interesting about the lactose intolerance - I was so so ill when I went to Costa a couple of times!

Justformounjaro · 01/05/2025 19:57

Well, I think I’ve finally got to the stage of being unable to eat after I played around with my doses because we were coming away for a week. I took 1.25mg on Friday, and 2.5mg on Tuesday. Yesterday and today I’ve been unable to finish a meal that in the last few weeks I would easily manage. Admittedly today it was about 90 minutes after a very large ice cream 🤭

It was quite unpleasant feeling so nauseous trying to eat, and it was hot and a bit smoky so none of that helped me being able to finish. I’m thinking that I might order starters in the next few days instead.

Justformounjaro · 01/05/2025 20:03

@museumum Are you exercising too and it’s your fat reserves being eaten up whilst you increase muscle? Whatever, it’s still a win 🏆

Where is everyone losing their weight? I need it all to go from my menopause belly, and some has, but I think more is going from my bottom, hips and thighs proportionally.

Flamethrowers · 02/05/2025 00:28

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 01/05/2025 07:58

@Flamethrowers huge congrats on the BMI! Really well done, I hope to get there one day but that’s a loooong way off yet, my BMI is 42 😬 I bet it felt so satisfying getting into those old clothes! I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having a hard time with diarrhea, I really hope it clears off for good!

Can I ask what the supplements you take are called please? I take collagen capsules but thinking I should maybe take vitamins too.

The collagen is a powder - vital proteins collagen peptide and then iron (ferrous bisglycinste -
meant to be easy on stomach - I have border line anaemia). I habe a zinc magnesium and calcium combined multivitamin and biotin. I pace them out as some conflict (eg calcium and iron) .

TryingMJ · 02/05/2025 06:42

Good morning everyone, as usual have been trying to keep up with reading this fast-moving thread throughout the week. Well done for all the victories, both scales based and non-scales based. Sorry to those experiencing unpleasant side effects, I hope they are righted asap. I’ve had a good week on track after falling off a tiny bit in the second week of the Easter holidays (nowhere near my previous binging capabilities but more snacky than I had been on MJ so far), aided by both being back in routine and also moving up to 5mg a week ago today. I haven’t had any negative SE, and have been pleased with the suppression.

Weigh in 9:

Staring weight 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight 11 stone 6.0lbs

Lost this week 3.2lbs

Total lost 2 stone 0.5lbs (or 28.5lbs)

I am so so happy with this. I have basically lost a stone in March and a stone in April. I have 10lbs to go until I am in a healthy BMI category, and I have 1 stone 6 lbs to my goal weight.

Spondoolie · 02/05/2025 06:57

Omg. 7.5mg side effects pretty wild. Sulphur burps, biblical farts and stomach distended 😩

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 02/05/2025 07:21

Good morning all

I hope that all those that have SE feel better soon and find a dose that works well for you.

The weather has been beautiful this week where I am and I have managed to sit out in the garden with my tipple of choice in this weather Rose wine with Olives pretending that I am on holiday somewhere! I also put on a bikini to sunbathe and may use of the 28c temps and fit was too big around my bottom and waist it was in danger of falling down.

My first week on 7.5ml has been uneventful, food noise completely gone and suppression good but I do not think I managed to get all my calories in which has slowed down the weight loss, I was hoping to loss more than I did but it was also TOTM so that could be another reason. I am a daily weigher and I have bounced around of 2lbs going up and down all week. Although I have not lost much this week I have dropped inches all over my thighs are an inch smaller than last week so god only knows what is happening.

2lbs lost this week never to come back.

Weigh in 9
SW 13st 4lbs
CW 11st
TW 9st 7lbs (this is subject to change)

All this said I am now going to stop all but iron (every other day s broader line anaemic) and calcium (osteopenia and now lactose intolerant!) as I think that everything else may be contributing to three weeks of diarrhea

Fuelledbylatte · 02/05/2025 08:09

New number on the scales…76kg
NSV ; throwing on an outfit and walking out of the house rather than changing several times because not feeling like it fits or hangs well

TheBossOfMe · 02/05/2025 08:38

@Fuelledbylatte Great NSV!

Pre-weekend accountability weigh in. I think this week is a plateau week, which is fine, they happen. Bit annoying since I've been really mindful about eating and drinking, but it's also been a low exercise week because super busy at work, so maybe that's the difference.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 1.9lblb/127.9lb BMI 22.7 - 16.7lb down, 62.8% of target achieved.
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 9.9lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 2.6lb
W8 0lb so far

Long weekend coming up and I'm heading out of town for the night to see friends. Short hike tonight and a long one tomorrow morning, but also eating out tonight and tomorrow lunchtime. So might end up as a gain week. Hopefully not.

GameOfJones · 02/05/2025 08:52

Morning all. I think 5mg is the dose for me as I've had a good balance of suppression but minimal side effects the past couple of weeks. I've got one more dose in the pen so have ordered another 5mg pen for the next month.

A couple of NSVs from me. Someone at work commented that I'd lost a lot of weight this morning. I have lost 1st 8lbs on Mounjaro but also had lost 1st before that by intermittent fasting. So I'm down over 2.5 stones since last summer. I can't really see the difference in myself yet but obviously other people are starting to notice.

My second NSV is that I'm wearing a pair of shorts today. I always wear trousers or long dresses as I'm really self conscious about my legs and knees. But it is hot and today I felt comfortable enough to think "sod it" and leave the house with my legs on show. It probably sounds silly but this is a huge change for me.

I do need to work on toning and exercise now I've lost a decent chunk of weight. I do a yoga class once a week but that isn't going to be enough.

mumofmanydaughterofone · 02/05/2025 09:25

feeling a bit deflated today - stayed the same and was hoping for a drop after only losing half a pond last week - sigh.
I'm not sure if tis is a plateau or something not working - I am at my lowest weight in 22 years so maybe my body is just freaking out. I don't see how I can be going over calories but I might start counting for a bit - does anyone have a good calorie counting app or similar they can recommend?
Anyway - here's where I'm at so far:
SW 194
CW 179
GW 150
15 pound in 9 weeks so far - I'm going to keep going and hope it starts moving down.
Congrats everyone on your NSV and SV - hard to keep up with such a fast moving thread but you're definitely all smashing it!!

TheBossOfMe · 02/05/2025 09:27

@mumofmanydaughterofone Probably a plateau, they're really common on any kind of diet. Don't lose heart, 15lb is amazing. MyFitnessPal is a good app, IMO.

That a big weight loss. I plateaued and then plummeted.
i use chat gpt after each meal and ask it to estimate calories fibre fat and protein and then other nutrients. I also put in my age weight height and ethnicity and ask it to estimate daily calorie needs adjusted to my daily exercise. so yesterday I thought I eat a lot (about 1700) but I also did an hour at the gym and walked 16000 steps so in fact my actual intake was closer to 500 calories
Very good if you're lazy as you don't have to think to put it in chat.
