New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

@Fatmumslim01 Slow and steady wins on WLIs if you look at some of the research about successful vs unsuccessful maintenance, so 1lb a week is brilliant, and a year to get to goal is a year to learn new eating habits for life.

I'm ravenous today - jab day is tomorrow. Again, I read somewhere that the optimum jab cycle is actually 6 days not 7 for continuous suppression, but the manufacturers say once a week because it's easier for people to remember to jab the same day each week. Don't know if that's true but I'm going to be relying on willpower a lot today, I think. Stomach is rumbling, which I haven't had at all since I last jabbed.

Bubbless31 · 30/04/2025 11:00

I did 3.75 on Monday and yesterday and today I’ve felt horrific. Nauseous, exhausted, lethargic.. it wasn’t like this at all on the 2.5! I’m going away on Friday for the weekend and I desperately need to feel better.. any advice?! How long did this last for others?!

CFCmum · 30/04/2025 11:05

@Yellowsubmarine55 we are the same height and a similar starting weight

TheBossOfMe · 30/04/2025 11:16

@Bubbless31 - I get a bit tired and very cold for 2-3 days after I jab but it usually goes after that, so hopefully you'll be fine by the weekend.

Mid-week weigh in accountability check. I gained a pound overnight Monday night (fuelled too heavily after my long run, ate late, Chinese food so a bit salty) but lost a bit of that again yesterday so hopefully will get back on a downward track as the week goes on.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 2.3lb/128.3lb BMI 22.7 - 16.3lb down, 61.3% of target achieved.
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 10.3b to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 2.6lb (ate out and entertained loads)
W8 so far gained 0.4lb

Grrr. I really need to watch those Mondays, I seem to do the same early week bounce every week. I'm wondering whether to do a split dose jab schedule (Thu/Mon) to keep suppression higher all week - but then the more logical part of my brain says that the bigger risk for me is gaining a lot over the weekends (I'm super social and a lot of my time with friends involves eating out) so I'm better off having higher suppression at the riskiest time with a higher dose, and just use more self control and mindful eating as the dose wears off.

The half life is five days, and this is usually taken as the point where side effects should be over or at least past the worst.

Paulahoust · 30/04/2025 13:00

Last week I jabbed 3.15mg and felt a little light headed and nauseous so I think today I'm going to do 2.5 and then top up to 3.33mg on Saturday, I have been living on children's ward with my son since Sunday as he has gastroenteritis so don't want to risk feeling dodgy and don't know how much longer we will be here!

Flamethrowers · 30/04/2025 15:18

Hello! I ordered a 5mg for next month with pushy but I'm pretty sure I want to stay on 2.5. Can I check that all these pens it's easy to reduce the dose by doing half clicks?

Flamethrowers · 30/04/2025 15:30

I can't go up as my diarrhea has returned and it's explosive

Flamethrowers · 30/04/2025 15:31

Oushk not pushy!

Fatmumslim01 · 30/04/2025 15:36

@Flamethrowers I haven't used oushk myself but I've heard good things about their customer service why don't you contact them and see if they can send a 5 rather than a 7.5? Although if it's too late then yes you can count clicks to get 5 out of a 7.5 )I'm currently counting clicks to get 3.75 out of 5) I'm not sure how many it would be on a 7.5 pen though

Flamethrowers · 30/04/2025 15:44

I'm so so tired of this explosive diarrhea. It's two week!!!!!! I can't eat any dairy!

Overjiggly · 30/04/2025 16:22

@TheSpoonyNavyReader looking really good

Does anyone take Kefir? I tried it this week due to all the health benefits. On MJ I've had diarrhoea and also constipation, sometimes as well feeling like I'm not fully empty and sorry if this is TMI but the kefir has made a difference and now have very satisfying bowel movements. Although I will add the taste is horrible, so I'm going to try it in smoothies instead to see if it's more palatable.

Yes - chart attached.

For the diarrhoea, psyllium should help balance things. Start slow with plenty of water. Also, electrolytes and a probiotic?

@Overjiggly Another kefir drinker here. I add salt, some cumin and some puréed cucumber - tastes loads better like that.

You doing so well don’t get hung up ☺️

someone told me many years during ww that it takes 2-3 days for water and food to show on the scale.

I currently jab Monday and have indulged last couple of weeks on Sundays . Monday is my lowest weight of the week , followed by 1-3 lb weigh gain on Tuesday and lost back to 0 on Wednesday and start loosing from Thursday onwards (my least calories are Monday to Wednesday combined with highest water intake)

monitor your graph throughout the week what impacts it and adjust accordingly if needed . But by the looks it even outs for you with loss on your weekly weigh ins

I would reduce the clicks as it would save you £

I have Kefir everyday as a drink and I like the taste of it.

Makes everything move and I do not get bloated.

I will definitely be having it everyday now. Imamazed how well it's helped in just a week.

TheBossOfMe · 30/04/2025 20:33

@Overjiggly @TheSpoonyNavyReader I've had kefir daily for years and it's so good for your gut. I'm convinced it's why I haven't had that many gut SE issues.

@Bipaloss - that makes total sense - my Monday/Tue trend up maybe more related to the weekends than my actual Monday diet. I like a daily weigh because I'm anal and like to see the fluctuations, but you're right, it's the overall trend that matters. So I don't get too hung up on it, just like seeing what has impact so I can learn from it.

7.5mg pen delivered today but I'm going to extract the golden dose from my 5mg tomorrow and delay starting on 7.5mg for a week. I might not increase dose at all - 5mg seems to be fine for now, so will just track suppression and only increase if I think it's not working so well anymore.

I’m sure I just thought il share. I weigh daily too as it gives me motivation especially when it goes up at the start of the week it pushes my control longer for the week 😂

I have a 7.5 in fridge too (done 8 jabs as not doing golden dose) , and although I’m not feeling as strong suppression this week I’m gonna remain on 5 mg (40 clicks) on Monday and then do the following 6 days later (also 5 mg) and then maybe move up to 7.5 mg

im going away coming weekend plus my 40th so deffo having some cake and champagne , plus TOM next week so expect WL to be limited next couple of weeks and then get back on track. I’m happy with loss so far 18.5lb but still have 3-4 st to go so it’s gonna take a while

sorry for long post but have to mention had to drive 300 miles today (this is normal for me once a week or every second week) for work and was out total of 11 hours and never been so exhausted as I am today, but ensured I fueled up with protein shake, fruit , chicken wrap loads of water and of course coffee . Ready for bed now 😆 ready for the long weekend ahead

Hi loves 🙋🏼‍♀️

I haven’t been able to keep up with our chat, mum is in hospital, my health hasn’t been great and I had a big falling out with my sister this week when she decided to tell me what she really thinks of me. Considering all of this, there’s been no binging 💪🏼 I had my usual cake yesterday but couldn’t even finish the amount I’d normally eat

I jabbed 30 clicks of the 5mg pen on Monday and I’m going to jab 30 clicks again tomorrow. Decided to do this to stop any SE from increasing. However today I haven’t really been hungry, I had my usual Greek yogurt, granola and strawberries which left me uncomfortably full for most the day, just tried to eat dinner but didn’t even manage half of it. Somethings in the air 🤣 These kind of SE I can live with!

I hope you’re all doing well and supporting eachother ❤️ I’ll try to catch up with the posts over the next few days

Help!
I just bought some chocolate! I'm on week 3 of 5mg, jabbed on Monday and usually today I have a great mindset and want to eat healthy food.
I did have to take a senna laxative last night. Really needed to.
Is this a blip or do I need to move up to 7.5? I was hoping to stay low as possible

Thanks everyone

Nothing wrong with this in my opinion, have a reasonable size amount and stop there. Dont rely on MJ to stop you wanting to eat treats, just have them in moderation. Remember this is about rewiring our thoughts and behaviour more than it is about losing weight
