It is an absolute revelation to be comfortable in warm weather. I will happily wear a layer of thermals in the winter if the payoff is not dreading every day over 20°!

I have a little positive that I hope may also be a boost for others.

I have whined at length about my weight loss slowing (I've lost 1kg in the last 4 weeks on 12.5mg) but I measure myself once a month and, in that same time I have lost 1cm off my bust, 2cm off my waist, 2cm off my hips and 0.5cm off my thigh so something is still happening.

@MooBaggage Good bone density is often a positive of being overweight as weight bearing exercise is a protective factor and every movement is weight-bearing exercise to us! I have a few friends who are on medication for osteoporosis in their 60s and the one common factor is that they are all teeny-tiny

Yes I remember my Coeliac Consultant telling me years ago that he "likes a bit of meat on my patients" because of the protection re: osteoporosis/osteopenia - unfortunately I think I may have taken it a bit too literally..! 🙄😁

I didn't think I was feeling the cold too much, but have realised that I'm wearing a woolly jumper today and feeling just right - so maybe the cold has hit me more than I'd realised..!

I'm melting & complaining about the weather 🤣

I've always hated the heat though so I suspect that will never change- I'd like to think I'd feel freer about wearing summer clothes as I get smaller but my skin goes bonkers in the sun (& with pollen etc) so it's long sleeves & trousers for the foreseeable.

I am enjoying keeping up with my lanky teen on the hills though - I don't seem to need to stop to admire the view/fiddle with my shoe etc etc anymore 🤔

Excellent news on dropping a med wings & hurrah for a NSV queen

Reginaphalangeeeee · 30/04/2025 22:50

Thanks @taylorswift1989for good advice. I haven’t eaten more today & although still craving sugar/chocolate it’s not as bad.

i was out & instead of going for salad I had a big grilled chicken breast burger. Thought I go slightly healthier with sweet potato fries, then ofcourse got stuffed & couldn’t eat them. Felt good to be full/fed.

More calories, more exercise, more protein. No weight loss. Have ordered a 7.5mg pen, still pending authorisation. Don’t think it’s going to make much difference 🙄

Nightmare... how many weeks has it been now without any weight loss? I'm really sorry your body has decided to be so awkward 😞 Are you at least maintaining at the moment? Really hope you get the 7.5mg pen through - fingers crossed...

This week I'm a lot less suppressed - more food noise and tempting thoughts, although I'm not caving in re: any old sugar/alcohol habits, but have been eating bigger portions and with more relish (not the ketchup kind 😀)!

Wondering about whether to increase slightly from 5.5mg to 5.75mg, or just brave it and go up to 6mg. The nausea was awful though a few weeks ago, so I've enjoyed feeling completely fine this week!

Will see how I feel next Monday on jab day.

Hormonal changes make a huge difference to my appetite and suppression level. A few days before my period is due I Get more hungry but generally upping my protein helps to resolve that

alwaysscared · 01/05/2025 09:03

@MooBaggage bobbing up and down between 192lbs and 196lbs for 8 weeks now 😡
The 7.5mg has not been approved yet either, which is frustrating

Thankfully my period days are behind me, but I do think MJ has messed slightly with my extinct period/hormones cycle, so that could be it. My new fancy schmancy scales are making me much happier to weigh myself, so as long as I don't put any weight on and can resist the urge to eat crap, I'll probably stick with 5.5mg, or go up a tiny amount to 5.75mg. I'm around 35% of the way to goal weight, so definitely want to keep as much MJ dosage headroom as I can for the next 12 - 18 months.

Grrrrr... that's very annoying...

192lbs is my first long term goal weight BTW - only because it's my favourite bus number (it's infamous where I live!)😀

191 is also a good bus, so I hope that comes for you soon! 😊

Yep it is tricky hey!
I thought as this is my 5th month as weight loss slowed I would be prescribed 7.5mg, but no.
How are you planning on doing 5.75mg. Is it a 5 pen?

Agree @InfoSecInTheCityfor me it is hormones. Took advice from here and eaten more protein/larger meals and snack desire dropped a bit. However, this just allows me to cope, I constantly feel like I will cave to yummy things. Taken the ‘at the weekend approach’ to put limitation on it and avoid feeling deprived which is dangerous for me. Hoping with arrival of period these cravings go or may have to consider what @MooBaggage is.

MooBaggage · 01/05/2025 11:26

@Reginaphalangeeeee No I've got a 7.5mg pen and am counting clicks - on 44 clicks so far but might increase to 46.

I was really itching to eat something yesterday in the late afternoon, so made a chocolate protein drink instead - they fill me up quickly and yes, are calories, but at least are protein-y aswell! And psychologically much better for me than resorting to biscuts/crap, which I still haven't touched since January 13th.... 😮

I hadn't realised what a balancing act it was going to be re: dosage - I'm probably overthinking it and should just do what is advised re: 2.5/5/7.5 etc. - but at the same time I'm trying now to listen to what my body actually wants (for the first time!), so am trying to tweak things as much as possible to what feels right.

Make the most of it- it'll rain next week (w.coast here!). I need to go out later when the washing machine has finished. I'll probably roll through the woods although it's a bit bumpy because nothing makes me happier than roasting alive on a bus on a day like this.

As for me, I'm just glad I'm not freezing to death. Being perma-cold is about the only side effect I have ever had from MJ that really annoys me. Everything else I can live with. I'm still going out in a cardigan though but will 'downgrade' said cardie from a thick woolly one (Temu) to some thinner ones when they arrive (more Temu!). I have PLE so covering my arms in summer is kinda essential.

@Reginaphalangeeeee I am exactly the same. My weight chart is far from linear although I am still losing. If anything it looks really quite bumpy!

Next week? 🤣 One day later and 🌥️ 14 degrees and the big jumper is back on (not quite putting the heating on yet but thinking about it!) 🤣

Got to say I prefer it to the 28 degree London is due today!

alltablenochairs · 01/05/2025 11:49

My heating was on in AUGUST last year! Not too bad here today, at least there's a breeze so it's not like it is stifling. It's been quite nice to take my laptop in my garden (I'm SE so I make my own rules amd I'm not doing anything confidential!) and work.

Dosage wise, I have just gone step wise 2.5-5-7.5. There was a bit of using a 7.5 pen to make it up to 10 but that was purely because it needed using up. Fair play to all of you who count clicks though- I'm (little d) deaf so I can't actually hear the pen click and have to rely on feel. Apart from right in the beginning I haven't been affected by nausea. However I always find that if I am feeling a bit grim for any other purpose iced water (I.e. lots of ice cubes) helps a lot. When I was in hospital last year the nurses put me onto it

This is really pissing me off. My order is still pending and they are saying I need a video consultation, but they don’t have one available until 17th May. Please tell me where you guys get your pens from, somewhere I don’t have to go through this rigmarole!! 😡😡

SilenceInside · 01/05/2025 12:24

I look on monj.co.uk and see what the prices are. I've ordered via MedExpress and am now with IQ Doctor - neither have asked for video consultations (but they may have changed their processes since?) - they ask for photos and photos of previous prescriptions - as well as the health questions.

Darlinghag · 01/05/2025 15:46

Hello everyone hope youre good! I’m struggling to keep up with the thread now, but how lovely its so busy!!

This year with heat has made a noticeable difference!! I haven’t overheated at all today, utterly bizarre feeling!!! I’ve done some walks in the sun too, and while I’ve gotten warm, I’ve not sweat nearly like I previously have!

I think its a combo of the weightloss but also the MJ that typically has me feeling colder!!

WeAllHaveWings · 01/05/2025 17:19

Not quite as warm up here in Scotland 🌥️ today as you are probably having ☀️@Darlinghag !

It's been a while since we have had a no holds barred TMI post.

How is everyone coping with their loose skin/folds? The bottom half of my B shaped tum is getting smaller/emptier, but the overhang has a deeper fold under it around the center part iykwim. Hopefully it will improve a bit in time.

I wash with proper soap and pat it dry very carefully, but as the day goes on it is getting a bit damp under there and 😳 sometimes a bit whiffy by the end of the day, and it is a bit of a worry for the warmer weather if it ever comes to Scotland (although I'm sure no-one else notices!)

I bought some Medicated Body Powder (Talc Free) from Amazon which does help, but is messy (bathroom floor needs constant brushing/vacuuming with the powder going everywhere!).

Does anyone recommend any "better" solutions. I tried deodorant/anti perspirant spray but found the powder better/longer lasting.

Oushk will ask for photos and all customers now need to do at least one video weight verification call (2 min video call where you show your photo id and step on the scales) at some point, but from what I've seen on facebook it shouldn't hold up approval/dispatch.

But for customers with more complex medical history they may ask for a video consultation to discuss further before approval/prescribing.

InfoSecInTheCity · 01/05/2025 17:32

@WeAllHaveWings I went through that stage during the winter thankfully and am now finding that while I still have lots of saggy skin it is not as ‘overhangy’ for lack of a better word. I saw that Sure have started selling an all over body deodorant, no idea if it’s any good but might be worth a try. I tend to go with frequent cleaning and talc or the chafing stick/balm which I think I picked up in Sportsdirect, it’s meant for runners and I used to liberally apply to inner things to prevent chub rub, so happy that this year I think I’ll be able to avoid that now.

i am loving the sunny warm weather, soaking it in like a lizard basking on a rock. I went and had a 20 min Power nap in my hammock at lunch time it was lovely.

alwaysscared · 01/05/2025 17:43

Thanks guys

MooBaggage · 01/05/2025 17:44

@WeAllHaveWings I'm not quite at that stage yet, (although no doubt will be!) but I use a Mitchum stick which is really good and was the only thing that worked when I was very pre-menopausal smelly! Might be worth trying that?
