@WeAllHaveWings your 7 stone loss is amazing and really inspiring. I’m starting my eighth week today, I’m hoping to have similar losses a year from now.

I also have hammock envy! I don’t think I’d have the agility to get in or out of one at the moment 😄

My scales have stayed fairly stable this week, but my clothes are definitely looser. My jeans are noticeably baggier around my thighs which is a major NSV. I’ve been snacking on peanut butter on apple slices - it’s keeping me off the Easter eggs that nobody seems to be eating.

MyGodMyThighs · 27/04/2025 13:52

Just weighing in...

A 2lb loss this week, taking me to 233lbs. Happy with that for week 2.

SW 249lb
MJ SW 238lb
CW 233lb
GW 150lb

Did my third injection this morning and I've just ordered my next pen. Wavered over sticking with 2.5mg or going up to the 5mg pen and doing 3.75mg. Decided on the latter as I've had very minimal side effects but am happy with the rate of weight loss and how I'm feeling around food.

Anyone else doing 3.75mg?

My thinking behind it is I want to ease my body into it and because I don't cope well with nausea. Plus I'm managing work and 2x SEN kids alone quite a lot of the time so can't afford to be ill!

MooBaggage · 27/04/2025 14:01

@eleanorwish Welcome! I feel the same re: wanting to sort myself out before my 60's - I'm 56 and planning on retiring when I'm 60 and part of the reason for starting MJ was the realisation that if I didn't do something soon, I wouldn't be around for long to enjoy the retirement I've worked for! I hope to be at goal weight shortly after I hit 57 - fingers crossed...

Well done everyone!

I was pretty surprised that I managed to lose a kilo last week as between Easter and the kids hols I have not eaten as well as I have been recently. So I am really pleased with that and also what I ate this Easter hols is dwarfed in comparison to what I ate last Easter.

I had posted a while ago about worrying about fitting on the rides with my DC at Drayton Manor (I am currently a size 20). We went Thursday-Friday. All was well until we got on to the Wave rollercoaster. My harness was not locking properly and I started to worry. I asked one of the staff if I was too big but he said no that the problem was not me but the seat ...whilst relieved it did not exactly fill me with confidence! I don't know if any of you have seen the 911 episode with the rollercoaster accident involving a plus sized guy - that rather stayed in my mind. Fortunately I survived the rollercoaster and we had a great trip.

My DC are back to school tomorrow so I will be going to the gym and aiming to eat more veg and less processed stuff.

It was time to put in a new order so I asked the pharmacist if I should move up which she agreed to. 5mg here I come!! Still have one 2.5 to go though. My eldest son (30) has asked that I keep him updated with any side effects once I get started 😄. Tell me I’ll be fine!!

Not going to lie, I found the first few days hard going with nausea! But stuck at it and am still only on 5.5mg now at week 15. I tried going up to 6.5mg (I knew 7.5mg would finish me off!) but it was too much, so 5.5mg seems to be the best dose for me at the moment.

Good luck - fingers crossed and keep drinking whatever you can if you get nausea. Protein drinks were a godsend when I felt I couldn't eat for the first few days!

Oh I am a bad bad mum today. Spent a big chunk of the afternoon on teaching my daughter a bad lesson! She’s in yr 6 so everything is about SATs, I hate SATs they have no benefit to the kids and are just pressure to make the schools look good. She got sent home for Easter holidays with a massive stack of 4 worksheets a day to do for all 14 days, attached is a bribe, they get 10 mins free time for every worksheet they do, she wants the minutes, so she did a load of the worksheets at the beginning of the holiday but then with holiday club and a several night stay at her nanas she fell behind. So I’ve sat and done half of them today, she did the other half and she gets all her minutes. Feel like I should care more about cheating but I just hate that she was given hours of work to do over a holiday.

MooBaggage · 27/04/2025 20:19

Excellent effort @InfoSecInTheCity 😀💪

It's ridiculous and I think getting worse these days 🙄

(Did you get them all right?!l 😁

This is what I am expecting and dreading! I jab on a Friday night so if I do feel rotten I’ll have an excuse to miss teaching double maths on the Monday! Every cloud, right? Will stock up on the protein drinks.

alltablenochairs · 27/04/2025 21:11

@InfoSecInTheCity I would have done exactly the same thing myself. Sorry, 4 worksheets a day. Absolutely and totally a hard no from me. Did you remember to fill them in using the same pen/pencil as she was using and make your handwriting match hers??? My maths is fairly crap but 10 mins free time for every worksheet x 56= 560 mins free time (or just over 9 hours). Will they actually be giving her all this free time?

InfoSecInTheCity · 27/04/2025 21:21

@alltablenochairsmix of pens and generally bad handwriting all round. Told her if she’s asked that me or her dad read out the questions and wrote down the answers but she answered them. And yes apparently they will be getting up to 560 minutes, which I think we worked out as half a day free for every day of the last week, and presumably some kids will be made to sit it out if they didn’t do the stupid homework, I really hate SATs!

alltablenochairs · 27/04/2025 21:27

@InfoSecInTheCity I disapplied my son from doing SATS. Chances of him actually sitting down at a prescribed time, in a prescribed room, in a prescribed manner and doing a prescribed test are as likely as me running the London marathon. His school were thankfully in agreement.

Arglefraster · 27/04/2025 23:10

NOT a bad mum @InfoSecInTheCityyou taught her to work smarter not harder and to value her rest time. AND she knows you're on her side!

One of my few really positive memories of my mum in childhood is that she used to do my history colouring homework for me occasionally - I was always happy to do the questions but colouring in felt absolutely pointless which used to reduce me to tears!

I don’t understand women’s clothes sizes…. I was looking on the Unfolded website and their size guide for a dress I was interested in has a size 22 as a waist of 102cm. But I don’t feel like I’m a size 22…?

I have several of the Unfolded dresses & trousers.
The quality is good.
The sizing is pretty standard I would say, though I often have problem with the bust fit in their more fitted dress styles. They also have the Fabulous range which is for larger busts & accommodates me well.

I started out wearing size 22 Unfolded dresses, and now I am at an 18.

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 28/04/2025 14:22

Had my check in at the pharmacy today…. 2 weeks after starting 2.5 MJ. I’ve lost 11lb so far 😊

MabelSpan · 28/04/2025 14:27

Weigh and Jab day for me. I lost 1lb last week, quite unexpected really as I had a weird week, didnt cook much at all and ended up eating maintenance cals for the week. So happy to have not gained.
SW 20st 3lbs 14th Aug 24
CW 15st 10.2lbs 28th Apr 25
GW 11st 7lbs
TL 4st 6.8lbs

I have been a brave little soldier and upped my dose to 58 clicks/4.83mg! I have everything crossed that my mood doesnt get slapped down to lower than low and I can continue on my merry way side effect free😊

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and that you will get to enjoy some of the glorious weather we are set to get this week!

I might have to join the hammock gang at this rate!😄

QueenOfHiraeth · 28/04/2025 19:08

@SilenceInside I agree that clothes sizes are nuts!

I bought 2 items last week at TKMaxx, both size 16, both too tight so had to return. Went today and tried on size 18s in both M&S and BonMarche, all too big so then had to try 16s.

I also went into Yours as that (and supermarkets) has been my safe place to shop as a 22/24 but found that the 14s fitted widthways but everything was too long. I suspect it may be because I have lost a lot of my "general upholstery" so things like shoulders, arms, back, boobs, tummy, etc are not filling up and lifting the clothes and it all looks too long.

MooBaggage · 28/04/2025 19:10

Well I neeeeeeed to stop buying size 20 tops on Vinted, because I'm definitely not there yet! I keep seeing lovely summer tops and thinking oooooh I'll be in that soon - but have now got half a dozen lovely summer tops that are too small for me (but will maybe be OK by July/August??!) and sod all to wear right now! 🙄

I am feeling pretty good on day 3, but even though I’ve had a poo today, I feel constipated. Is that simply what slowed digestion feels like? I’m eating salad and fruit, and drinking. I don’t want to break out the laxido if this is normal.

I got a bit constipated last week, increased my fibre, and now have the opposite problem. And just for fun, pooped myself on a dog walk (just could not get back to the car and home quick enough). Hoping that settles down quickly.

Appetite is really reduced, so wondering if it is worth going up a dose? I am only on my first pen, so may be too soon to think about anyway.

Eggy burps much better, thanks for all the tips!

MacForCrac · 29/04/2025 06:51

Morning! I have weight myself this morning

SW-18stone 4lbs
CW 15stone 10lbs

I took my 9th dose yesterday and nausea has well and truly kicked in. My side effects just do not ease at all, I am taking 5mg. I am going to speak to my provider today to see if there’s any anti emetic that I can take. I try to ride the nausea out with water, ginger and peppermint but it’s a killer and I’m really struggling

MabelSpan · 29/04/2025 08:09

@MacForCrac I take cyclizine and or kwells for nausea. I also keep packets of nairns ginger biscuits in as they seem to settle my tummy a bit too.
I hope you feel better soon.

Hi - yes I think it is - I'm exactly the same now, after years of IBS issues, so it's a very strange feeling to not be running to the loo several times a day - it's now more like every other day - utterly bizarre!

I add milled flaxseed to my morning smoothie, plus 3 x dates in each one and that seems to do the trick 😄
