I had my annual diabetic review today and the nurse was full of praise for Mounjaro. She said they've seen some amazing results with their diabetic patients. I know we've all seen the results on here, but it felt nice to have my choice to go down this route validated by a HCP.

In other news, I've just seen that Dr Michael Mosley's son has a book out called Food Noise, all about weight loss drugs. Thought some of you might be interested (although I don't want to read it if he discredits Mounjaro 😂)

Sorry for TMI but: Has anyone had bad diarrhoea after the first dose and not gone on to have it with the next? I have been suffering since yesterday evening and it’s only slightly improved even though I took some Imodium this morning.

I am back to work next Tues (teacher) and feeling worried about how I will cope if I am this ill after the second. My injection day was Saturday.

@msjjones Does it seem to be related to what you eat? I haven't had much of a problem, but did eat some Maltesers one evening which resulted in a runny tummy! I'm a teacher too, so fully share the fear of dealing with side-effects at work. That's why I started in the holidays! My plan for when i go back next week is to delay breakfast until 11ish (which is something i was doing previously in an intermittent-fasting kind of way) and then make sure what I have at 11 is simple and high-protein and (hopefully) less likely to cause any upset. Then have main meal after school with a few hours to allow digestion. Fingers crossed.

I am also a teacher! I had sickness and diarrhea last week, this week have just had some diarrhea but only once yesterday and today (absolutely not a problem, no urgency etc) and I did take some senna on Sunday night which may account for it! Hope that helps, I nearly didn't take the second dose but thought I'd try once more while it was still the holidays x

Is anyone else struggling to get anyone to use their discount code? I’ve had one person say they were going to use it but they clearly haven’t as I don’t have any credits showing on my dashboard. I can’t really afford to order the next one without the discount, is there some secret trick to getting someone to use it on the promo board? I posted it the other day but no takers. I know there are tons floating around out there so I understand it’s not as simple as just posting it though.

I hear you. My has had no take-up either. There are just so many around!

I’m day 4, first week. I’m pretty sure any weight I lose this week will be water weight as I’ve been peeing for Britain since day two 🤣

Happily, I have had no side effects aside from possibly feeling a bit ‘wired’ when I go to bed, but then I fall asleep pretty soon and sleep like a log.

In other great news for me, Following, a virus, I’ve have been suffering from bronchitis since about a month ago, the symptoms were settling last week, but the exhaustion dragged on. This morning, I took my dogs out for a walk and actually felt good, instead of dragging myself around. I know I still need to pace myself (I’m asthmatic and it takes me a while to fully recover from anything effecting my lungs), so we only did 30 minutes, but I’m so delighted to be feeling better and to be able to start exercising again. I’m hoping that by the weekend, I’ll be up for going for a swim 🙂

Bigfatsunandclouds · 15/04/2025 19:42

W2 D2 I am 3 nearly 4kg down. I am elated and it's given me a real boost, I waited to weigh for nearly a week as I was convinced I wasn't going to have lost any!

GRCP · 15/04/2025 20:00

@Djfjrjc2022@CreakyandSneaky@MsJJoneshello fellow teachers! Looks like we all started in the Easter holidays! I’m nervous about side effects at work too - but it’s good we have a full week before we’re back

Zireael · 15/04/2025 20:23

I heard back from Pharmacy2U today; They wanted more full lenth photos of me in tighter clothing, holding a piece of paper with my name and the date on it.

Once I submitted the pictires they approved me pretty quickly and apparently my pen is in the post for Thursday.

We must all be mad (or really serious about losing weight!) to start MJ in the lead up to the Easter weekend!

Minuethippo · 15/04/2025 20:25

@Zireael can I ask how long pharmacy2u took from start to finish? I put in a request on Saturday

Glad your pen is on the way!
Have you decided when you're going to do your first injection?

I didn't even think about Easter coming up, was just too keen to get started x x x

Hiya, I registered on Friday evening and I only heard back from them today. I guess once they start processing the request it gets turned around quite quickly.

I know what you mean! I didn't really think about Easter coming up either, I just wanted to get started. Once I make a decision (on anything really) I want to just crack on.

It was only when my MIL mentioned Sunday lunch and Easter chocolate I thought about the timings. But to be honest, the long weekend is the best time to start in case I get any SE. I'll probably start in the evening of the day they arrive.

Zireael · 15/04/2025 20:38

What are the discount codes posters are talking about? I know about the website with price comparisons, but it seems like some people have personalised codes?

Just enjoy your weekend as the early days of MJ lets you.
I noticed appetite depression the next day, which wasn't a bad thing.
But it doesn't stop me enjoying food, so just enjoy eating that bit less and not fancying as much chocolate!!

Keep us updated x x

We visiting one of my daughters and her family on Saturday. She is preparing a ‘high tea’ with little sandwiches and two types of cup cakes (she is a great baker). It’s fine, I’ll have a sandwich and a cup cake in the afternoon. Then, if I have an appetite for it, I’ll have another before we leave in the evenings. I learned not to worry about such things after having my gastric bypass 5 years ago 😀 I lost 70% of my excess weight (the amount the experts hope for), but was left with a couple of stone more to lose. I have regained 6lbs since then, but that’s pretty normal. I’ve been very happy, but now that Mounjaro is available, I thought I’d try for another stone. I won’t go much further, due to the likelihood of ‘too much’ loose skin.

Dobbysdad · 15/04/2025 20:45

Hi all,
I'm getting confused about how many calories I'm allowed. Nutracheck has me at 1700 but other tdee calculators have me higher including the 500 off.

I've had a very off side effect today of a stinging pain in my arm on my skin. V odd!

Yesterday I was allegedly left with 1400 calories to eat. I'd done a weight lifting class and eaten about 900 cals. Today I'm starving and have gone 51 cals over my 1700 limit. It'll all balance out right!!
Day 4 today and weigh in shows 11.5lbs off which is mad. All water I'm sure and I echo those who say they've been weeing like anything!

Tinkpod · 15/04/2025 21:00

Hi all, I just had my first injection yesterday, I’m feeling pretty sore and almost bruised all over on my fat today, everywhere that is particularly fatty is really tender and uncomfortable, my stomach, top of arms, ankles, muffin top area etc. anyone else get this?

Tinkpod · 15/04/2025 21:01

@TheHappyBugme too, 4.30 yesterday afternoon.

PinkCatInATree · 15/04/2025 21:07

I start tomorrow after my 10am video call with a coach (BUPA). My husband fully supportive.

Start weight an unbelievable 155kg
Goal weight 80kg
probably not all on the first pen though

Success to me would be energy for more exercise and being able to do up my jacket.

Tinkpod · 15/04/2025 21:15

@PinkCatInATreebest of luck to your video call going well and you starting your weight loss journey, I started mine yesterday x

WinterOnItsWayOut · 15/04/2025 21:16

@TC4 I’m on day 11 of my period which has been horrific and no indication of it stopping 😫. I feel like my insides are falling out uncontrollably…. I’ve started taking iron tablets as have been wiped out but not sure if it’s the MJ or reduced iron in my system!

Well done all so far on our first foray into this - from those I know who have been on it a while they’ve all said it settles down. So hopefully just time and we’ll get the positive benefits and lose the detractors 🤞

SausageRoll90 · 15/04/2025 21:20

Hi guys so I'm W1D4 and today I've been quite hungry. Well this morning I was fine but after lunch and this evening Ivd actually felt hungry for the 1st time since I injected. I know it's only been a few days but I do hope the suppression isn't already wearing out after just a few days.i know it builds up over time so I do hope it lasts the week going forward..or maybe I'm getting ahead of myself and today's just a hungry day and it'll fluctuate 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wish I wasn't such an overthinker lol

Newmum110 · 15/04/2025 21:26

I'm on W1D6 & I actually don't think I've had suppression at all, no side effects either though. I've been super conscious of what i eat but honestly think it's the placebo effect. Hopefully I'll feel a bit more suppression after the next dose.

Potato1234 · 15/04/2025 21:50

This jab confuses me so much. I couldn’t stop eating yesterday, today I’ve had 554 calories. I made myself a salad for tea and almost threw up after the first bite because I was so full. So it balances out yesterday but hopefully everyday isn’t like this as I can’t function on 500 calories a day!

I’ve got a discount code with my pharmacy MedExpress. It gives £40 off for you and me.

Happy to share it over DM (not allowed to share on here which I didn’t realise until I had a post deleted!)
