W1D1 for me 😊 I’ve just done my first jab and was pleasantly surprised at how straightforward it was.

Zireael · 20/04/2025 23:03

Hi everyone, glad to hear Easter has been positive for so many. I had a turkey roast at MILs today and shared an Easter egg with DH this evening.

I was really struggling with food noise last night, but trying to think about the bigger picture. Breaking old habits is hard.

QS90 · 20/04/2025 23:20

Have had some wine and nice food today - my family are big on Easter, and make a party of it. Definitely eaten more than I "should" have. But still a lot less than I would have had on previous years, so will take that win.

Have just ordered my 5mg pen though. I do feel like the 2.5mg is starting to wane in efficiency now, but think that's quite common by the end of the month?

Has anyone started their 5mg yet? I'm interested that it is supposed to be the first "therapeutic" dose... the 2.5mg was pretty good in itself, so am cautiously optimistic.

By therapeutic dose, they just mean that it's the point at which the majority of people feel the effects. Usually this is called the effective dose in the therapeutic window. But it's always a curve, with people who need much less and people who need much more on either end. (And a cutoff at toxicity)

For Mounjaro the effective dose starts at 5mg. It doesn't mean there's no effectiveness whatsoever at that dose, it just means that it can't be sold as effective at that concentration.

Hi everyone! 😊

Hooe it’s ok to join? I’m just waiting for my delivery, which should be next week.

Slightly anxious about injecting myself but really excited to get started…

Reading all of your comments and successes has been really inspiring!

@SugaCane I havent bought yet as the idea of injecting myself puts me off 🙈

SquishyGloopyBum · 21/04/2025 09:06

W2D5.

drank alcohol yesterday and my god I’m paying for it today! I don’t know if it’s the jab or the fact it’s my first drink in a while. The headache and sickness is enough to put me off though.

I was hoping that the jabs would mean I limit my consumption but once I’d had a taste I was my usual self. 😩😩😩

sorry for the self pitying rant. I’m just annoyed at myself.

Raffles134 · 21/04/2025 09:19

@Samilaa99 @SugaCane

I was exactly the same. So nervous about the injection and thought there was no way I could do it myself!
But when I saw the needle I thought I’d give it a go and I honestly didn’t even feel it!
The needle is tiny, only 4mm long and really thin.
Good luck both of you for when you start 💕

Hi everyone - first weigh in today as I’ve been on holiday and I can’t believe it!! I’m down 9 lb in 2 and a half weeks. I haven’t calorie counted but have tried really hard to eat plenty of protein and to make good choices. I’d say it’s been about 80% MJ and 20% my own willpower! I have had a few glasses of wine, handfuls of crisps and a single cream egg over the holiday though.

now we’re back in going to really focus on clean eating and getting back in my exercise routine.

I’m so pleased - I genuinely thought it might not be working at all! I think I’ll stay on 2.5 for my next pen. I do still enjoy food at this level and really don’t want to be forcing myself to eat. Will be interesting to see how things go next week when I’m back to my desk bound job.. grazing at work is a big issue for me.

TheDutchHouse · 21/04/2025 09:27

Checking in and rather embarrassed that the weight I thought I was starting at ( 20yr old scales) wasn’t accurate.
A few days in I was complaining that I wasn’t really loosing weight so purchased new scales which lights up your weight in digital form rather than a dial that moves every time you breath.
well it seems my start weight was 12st … but although a slow slog on wk2 day 4 I’m at 11.8
No side effects except terrible constipation and heartburn if I eat too much in the evening.
Slow but steady !

Thank you @Raffles134 puts my mind at ease a bit. Have you had any side affects? There is so much information and mis information about, who to buy from, what drug to take 😳. I gained 30lbs in a year from peri menopause and I was probably already 14lb overweight, so over 3 stone to lose, all a bit overwhelming.

Even though everyone keeps telling me that it’s a tiny needle and not as bad as we think, it’s still scary for me but I’ve bitten the bullet (and paid quite a bit for it!) so there’s no going back now 😅

I am on Mounjaro. I’ve been really lucky and only on the first day I had a bit of nausea, headache & felt cold.
It instantly stopped the food noise for me and I found I didn’t crave any unhealthy foods.
It is so freeing! I have eaten really healthy whole foods and I don’t know if this has helped me avoid side effects or if I am just lucky!

My start weight was 15stone 11lbs and my goal weight is 12 stone. I am also peri-menopausal and just haven’t been able to lose the weight. 😩
I am on WK3 D4 and have lost 12lbs.
Im still getting suppression and if I still feel the same on WK4 I might stay on 2.5mg a bit longer.

Provider wise I went with MedExpress who I’ve been very happy with. I’m sure you have seen you can get a code for £40 off your first order but after that they also price match if you don’t want to keep switching providers. I have a code if you want one.

Feel free to message me if you want to ask anything!

TC4 · 21/04/2025 10:33

So I’ve just put a t shirt on that started to get to that clingy uncomfortable stage and it fits much looser and more comfortable not perfect but going the right way 🙌🏻🙌🏻

IndigoSkye · 21/04/2025 10:33

Day 2 for me and feeling terrible, really bad nausea and diarrhoea! supposed to be hosting family, is going to be a long day!

GRCP · 21/04/2025 10:40

@IndigoSkyeI was the same on day 2. Hope you’re ok. Imodium, Buscopan and Rennies!

Thanks, I think I’ll make a trip to the chemists! I could have been better prepared!

Mounraine · 21/04/2025 10:48

@IndigoSkye Flowers I had a rubbish first week too.

GreenSalon2 · 21/04/2025 11:08

Anyone using Superdrug?

I looked today to see about ordering my next dose and had to go through every single question again. I don’t mind the medical questions but it is such a faff and the website doesn’t store information entered if you have to scroll back.

I went with them as thought it would be easy but now going to switch providers. Any recommendations? No discount codes please as I don’t want to break site rules and I’m just in search of good user friendly platforms.

I use Med Express, as do several friends. It’s been straightforward and easy, with fast delivery for all of us. I have a code that will give you £40 off your first order. Feel free to message me if you would like it.

TheHappyBug · 21/04/2025 11:47

I have weighed in as today is W1D7 so far 5lbs down so I am very happy with that.

I am another 5ft 2-er seems a lot of us on here! I am aiming for 8st, that’s what I was before lock down and I was healthy and active and happy. Would love to get back there it seems so far away but slow and steady!

EllaSaturday · 21/04/2025 11:49

@GreenSalon2 I am also with Superdrug and about to reorder. Can't believe I have to go through it all again. So am also looking at changing supplier

Onoriafox · 21/04/2025 12:32

I’m the same - had a bit of food noise yesterday but when I had a packet of crisps (all I had in) that was all I went off on - mainly cos I couldn’t be bothered to go to the shops to get chocolate. I’m finding I’m satisfied with less and it’s not the battle to “get back on it”
it would be previously.

im also now wondering about whether to go for the 5mg for next month

is yours only your second pen?

and how did the food satisfy you yesterday? Did it feel different?

TC4 · 21/04/2025 12:35

I changed suppliers for my second pen as well definitely a good idea to shop around

I have a code for medexpress and ZAVA if anyone wants either one - just send me a PM. ZAVA actually came out cheaper than medexpress for me on my second pen.

Onoriafox · 21/04/2025 12:38

I find if I detour from any “pure” foods into processed the side affects come. Even just a packet of crisps

sticking to not doing that has fended them off

wondering if water preparation would help with alcohol..before and after! But kind of takes the fun out of it
