@Zempy it’s funny you should say that about reverse body dysmorphia as I was thinking about this the other day. How my body looks now at 10st 4lbs is what I had convinced myself I actually looked like in real life at 12st. Which obviously isn’t true! I thought I was just a bit chubby but in reality I was obese. It was always a shock when I saw a photo of myself instead of looking at myself posed in the mirror.

HeavyHeidi · 15/04/2025 11:34

Same, @Zempy and @discov !

I looked totally fine before, just that for some reason, all photos were really unflattering and created extra chins and fat rolls. Just a bad angle. All of them.

Checking In after my hysterectomy yesterday- all went fine, and the pain is well managed. Hoping to go home tomorrow 🤞🏻
I feel as I’m cheating - my uterus/fibroid weighed 1.7 kg (a normal uterus is only 60 g!). Not sure if I’ll be seeing that on the scales… but I’m so looking forward to life without the fibroid!

HeavyHeidi · 15/04/2025 12:56

OMG @cloudjumper ! A bit drastic step for an impressive weekly loss 😁

Zempy · 15/04/2025 13:06

Speedy recovery @cloudjumper and definitely count it as a loss!!

myladyjane · 15/04/2025 13:11

Struggling a bit today - I injured myself on Sunday to the extent I needed the day off yesterday (no sleep/too much pain and discomfort to focus) and ate a carby day although still way under my calories. Today I have totally lost my appetite but have woken up dizzy and light headed. Couldn’t finish my breakfast, trying to force down a Pret cauli and Mac cheese as it was the only thing i even vaguely fancied. Still in quite a bit of pain and the reason i had to come into the office was over ruled by my boss without telling me so there was no actual point and I could have stayed at home.

been musing on my food quality and I really need to work on it. I need small easy grab pre planned meals with lots of fruit and veg and protein that don’t repulse or bore me. Seems quite hard balance to get atm

myladyjane · 15/04/2025 13:11

Oh @cloudjumper get well soon!

BlueLimes · 15/04/2025 13:27

@cloudjumper wishing you a good recovery.
@myladyjane that sounds tough, hope you feel better soon too. Have you any protein yogurts, they’re good for an energy boost.

mince3point14159265 · 15/04/2025 14:00

Also wishing you a speedy recovery @cloudjumper 💐🍇 Bet you're mighty relieved to get that out of your body, sounds like it was huuuge! 😅

Couldn’t have said it better myself 🫣🤣

@cloudjumper and @myladyjane feel better soon.

Jins · 15/04/2025 14:47

swift recovery @cloudjumper and all those feeling under the weather.

I’m having a well earned rest after blitzing the kitchen. I’ve just declared a fork amnesty for DS2 who is on lates today so we will be able to eat later.

I think we are at a bit of a dinner crossroads in our house. We've been having gousto meals every other week for over a year now and when I started MJ we went up to a larger box with the plan to freeze the leftovers for the intervening weeks to save a bit of money. My husband has now decided he doesn't want to eat the frozen portions and each day he's finding a reason why he has to have something different. I'm a bit frustrated as they've been really good for me in terms of variety and relatively low calories, plus not having to shop and think of meals the rest of the time. I really don't want to go back to regular supermarket shops and the time needed to think of recipes and the ingredients needed. Grumble grumble

JoanCollinsDiva · 15/04/2025 15:21

Hi all 👋 just checking in after catching up - not been on for a while as I've been finding it all a bit boring really 😂 not you guys - just bored with myself!
I think Il probably have hit my goal of 11st when I weigh in on Friday but I'm still feeling bleurgh about myself and feel a bit like il never be happy with my body no matter what FFS. Lots of cellulite and wobbly bits and no motivation to do proper exercise which is the only thing that'll even begin to make a difference! I'm 45 and think I'm maybe also struggling with getting older and knowing the days of having a hot bod are well and truly behind me! Also finding everything has dropped and the fat/skin seems to be settling differently - I definitely understand the phrase "meno belly" now. I'm going to keep on keeping on though and am lowering my target to 10.8 I think. There are still a few things I'm not fitting into that I'd like to wear.

A bit late to the party but I'm 5"8" and I would say largish hourglass/pear frame - heavier on the bottom but I have quite a small waist, thick ankles and wrists and large hands and size 7 feet. No muscle definition, lots of cellulite and blancmangey skin tone! My arms and legs resemble the appearance of plucked chickens which I hate and I hate getting them out - I dream of wearing shorts but now even have saggy knees so don't think that'll be happening this summer.

cloudjumper
Wow that's a big op! Wishing you a speedy recovery and that you'll feel much better for getting rid of the fibroid 💐

Jins
Just have to say - I am SO jealous of you having pet tortoises! I love them and have always wanted one 🐢 we visit Newquay Zoo at least once a year and il happily sit and watch them for ages, I love their little faces and the way they walk ❤️

Jins · 15/04/2025 15:37

@JoanCollinsDiva

Here they are in all their glory. The two at the bottom of the pic are the oldest - 103 and 107. We took them as foster pets when their owners grew too old to cope. They’d had them since they were children and were well into their 80s. That was 24 years ago.

The one at the top with the immaculate shell is about 5. She was found wandering and nobody claimed her. The last one was also a wanderer that nobody wanted - he’s about 45-50 and is obnoxious and violent.

They are quite hard work at times but I do love them. There’s a strong possibility that they’ll outlive us so we’re looking at options for them ourselves

Oh my goodness!!! 🥰

You have FOUR you lucky thing! Oh I luffs them... I know how the 45 yo one feels - I have raging pmt atm and am feeling a little violent myself!

Thanks for showing them Jins - made my day ❤️

HeavyHeidi · 15/04/2025 16:32

dilemma, I saw a dress I love and that would be perfect for a wedding end of August. I'd really like to get it, as may of course sell out. But...what size? My current (healthy BMI already)? But I do want to lose a few more kilos, so if I succeed, might still drop a size. Then again, I'm already close to my 'low' sticky point and I don't have the faith that I would actually get below that. What would you do?

BlueLimes · 15/04/2025 16:33

Current size - if easy to take in?

BlueLimes · 15/04/2025 16:34

Just so you can definitely wear it lots (bitter experience!)

HeavyHeidi · 15/04/2025 17:26

Yes it looks like it would be easy to take in, good point. And I still have larger than average boobs, so need to accommodate.

HeavyHeidi · 15/04/2025 17:34

Although have to say I ordered some E-cup bras, there was a sale so thought I'll need them soon. They arrived. I laughed, as they look so ridiculously teeny-tiny compared to my old bras.
Well, you know where this is going - they fit.

Jins · 16/04/2025 07:53

Morning all. Had the opposite of an NSV yesterday when calling my travel insurance to update on conditions and declared Mounjaro. Very apologetic young man asked my height and weight then when the computer did its thing declared that my obesity had been accepted for cover. Excuse me! I have a normal BMI nowadays. 🤣

So a letter will arrive in due course confirming the cover and obesity will be there in black and white.

Lovetoridemybicycle · 16/04/2025 08:40

When I spoke to my insurance, they didn't recognise obesity as a medical condition, I had to declare I was taking it for 'cosmetic' reasons! This was after telling them my stats as well!!

Reallyyyyyy · 16/04/2025 08:45

So after my post yesterday I think financially I won't be able to do the maintenance doses. I think I'm going to finish this week and go cold turkey and do my best. It's messed up my cycle and I'm having a period every 2 weeks now and I'm a bit over it. I'm also really ill with a virus and I think my body is now struggling. I weighed myself this morning and hit 69kg. So I think I can call that a win. Just shy of 20kg in roughly 3 months.

Only 4 kg off my goal weight. I think I'm also now low in iron so I'm going to see how I get on.
