New thread for those who started in January 25. 3 months in and we're still going strong 💪

I know it's reddit. But if anyone else is having menstrual changes, this makes sense!

I was planning on saying it was for cosmetic reasons but they went straight in with obesity. I started at BMI 28.2 but I wasn’t going to argue. At least I’m covered - we’ve never needed to claim but I want to minimise any chance of them wriggling out of paying.

30 days till we fly to Greece and giving my body a serious telling off seems to have worked because today I have a new stone number! 1lb of whoosh puts me at 9st 13!!!!!

MananaPenelope · 16/04/2025 08:50

Morning all. Week 12 update and I’m halfway to my first (could be my final depending on how my nice clothes fit) target.

3.75mg really isn’t agreeing with me, I’ve had three doses at 3.75mg now and injection day and the day after that are challenging with dreadful acid reflux, feeling cold and absolutely exhausted.

I think I’ll try two weeks of 2.5mg and if I still feel sub par will call it a day.

Zempy · 16/04/2025 08:50

@Reallyyyyyy good luck. I struggled massively when I had a virus, so I feel your pain.

I am doing much better this week, having dropped from 7.5 to 5.8. I am planning to give myself just over 6mg from bonus dose this Friday, and increase gradually.

Jins · 16/04/2025 08:56

@Reallyyyyyy best of luck. There’s no point struggling.

Please stay on the thread and keep us updated

Reallyyyyyy · 16/04/2025 09:15

Thank you all. I will. I'm not sure how or why but I managed to loose very quickly with no exercise. Probably because I can't even eat a full meal a day as it makes me feel sick and or throw up. That's why I wanted to lose extra so when I stop it didn't matter if I put a bit on. So will just have to be extra careful.

MananaPenelope · 16/04/2025 09:19

I think you’ll be fine @Reallyyyyyy . The people I know irl have been fine after stopping and have carried on losing where that was their aim. I think that’s what is making me lean towards stopping tbh.

I am spending a lot of time feeling 💩 and I just want to live my life.

Jins · 16/04/2025 09:23

I’m planning a happy day today digging out my case and sorting through my holiday clothes to see if any alterations are needed. I love my holidays, had to miss out for many years when I was uninsurable so I’m making up for it now.

Stomach issues are improving - that Italian meal at the weekend really didn’t suit me. Interestingly DH found the same and his gut is made of iron. Won’t be going back there again! I’ve almost emptied my pepto bismol.

Jins · 16/04/2025 09:25

You too @MananaPenelope - don’t you go leaving us!

If I’d had so many negative effects I’d have given up long ago so bravo to you both for sticking it out!

MananaPenelope · 16/04/2025 09:29

Thank you @Jins . I’ll try 2.5mg again next week before I quit. Just been reflecting on the fact that I’ve had quite a bit of leave and haven’t felt up to ⛳️, gardening or anything else really. I spent yesterday reclining listening to audible, today could be a write off too.

Seaitoverthere · 16/04/2025 09:39

@cloudjumper I hope you recover quickly and find it as beneficial as I have, mine was also for a fibroid.

I hope everyone else feeling rough feels better soon. I’m nearly over whatever I had but it really did floor us all and put me off flying for a bit. I took my first methotrexate injection last night which was very easy as no dialling up dose. You take the top off and push the whole pen down and the needle goes in then the entire pen goes into a special sharps bin as can’t go in a normal one. Taking it easy on the calorie deficit this week and eating roughly at maintenance levels to give myself time to recover. Found a thread on weight gain on methotrexate that I would rather not have seen but fingers crossed.

Fully get coming off it as feeling rough and I think that is sensible. I’ve been reading a few maintenance threads and it is sounding encouraging that people are able to keep the weight off and still lose if they want to, despite the doomsayers that lurk on here and seem to like to spread despondency about that wherever they can.

DGonMJ · 16/04/2025 09:48

Good luck @Reallyyyyyy it does sound like you’ve had a rough time on MJ. Hope you get back to feeling yourself soon.

@MananaPenelope sorry you’re also having a hard time on the 3.75mg dose. Sounds like dropping back down will help.

Congrats on reaching a new stone number @Jins 🏅

Feeling less uncomfortable today vs yesterday’s ‘stabbed in the colon’ sensation. Thank goodness.

Have started looking at clothes shopping online. No idea what I want to wear anymore. I need to dress as though I’m vaguely aware of current fashion, I’m in a creative role overseeing a team at work. So not too formal, but not too Gen Z. All the leaders next level up dress casually-expensive. Might have to go into an actual shop.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 16/04/2025 09:50

Morning all! Week 15 complete and first day of Week 16. I managed to lose 3lbs this week so I'm really pleased.
SW 223.6
CW 187.6

Hoping to get to my half way point of 3 stone in a few weeks, I think once I'm over that hurdle it will all seem more manageable. 10 more pounds to lose to get out of obese and into overweight!

Reallyyyyyy · 16/04/2025 09:57

Oh yes I mentioned a few threads back i started buying clothes from vinted. Really pleased that i did. Fraction of the cost and only had one parcel not turn up. But I have basically a whole new wardrobe.

2025istheyeari · 16/04/2025 10:14

@Reallyyyyyy im so sorry to hear you’ve been so ill, but think you’re making the right decision, as others have said please keep us updated and good luck!
@MananaPenelope oh no, sorry to hear you’re feeling rough too, hope the reduction in dose means you feel better. Not being able to live your life and doing what you want to do is rubbish 😟

@jins 🎉🎉well done!!
@DGonMJ glad you are feeling better.
@UnderandOverwhelmed whoop! Well done!!

MananaPenelope · 16/04/2025 10:18

I've never used Vinted @Really but I have managed to buy my favourite wool blazer in a different colour in the next size down from eBay BNWT, 25% of the original price.😳

Thanks @2025istheyeari , I have been prioritising work, but that is actually probably all I have acheived since going up to 3.75mg. I've done absolutely nothing outside of that.

2025istheyeari · 16/04/2025 10:33

DGonMJ · 16/04/2025 09:48

I feel the same re clothes! I’ve booked a John Lewis personal stylist thing for end of May to get a few ideas, they don’t do all the brands I like but at least I may get a vague idea of what suits me now and I’ll hopefully not be too far off goal 🤞🏻. There seem to be lots of cropped tops around and they don’t suit me- short torso and big boobs means they’re a definite no!!

HeavyHeidi · 16/04/2025 10:50

I love vinted, but of course have had disappointments as well.

Will go up a little, maybe also 3.75 this time. Can definitely feel less of suppression, even ate some crisps the other day. No need before summer. But for maintenance, the 2.5 dose seems perfect for me.
As long as I can get it. Will see what happens with this over here on the continent.

Polkadotdash · 16/04/2025 10:59

@cloudjumper good luck with the post hysterectomy recovery. Hope it’s going ok for you. Did they allow you to stay on MJ or have you had to pause? I will be wanting to hear any tips etc from you as I’m waiting for mine this year. I’ve got multiple massive fibroids which I’m looking forward to getting rid of. I had a failed UFE procedure last year and the recovery from that was horrific. Hoping it will be less dramatic.

Polkadotdash · 16/04/2025 11:01

@Reallyyyyyy Vinted keeps me afloat. I sell about £75 worth of stuff each month on there. And try not to buy more stuff back so that I can use the profit towards the MJ cost!

Jins · 16/04/2025 11:19

I’ve not sold much on Vinted but it added up to a decent amount. Sadly I’ve spent more than I’ve earned. I don’t buy clothes but I’ve got a shocking shoe and bag habit which needs dealing with. The ridiculous thing is that I use the same bag for months on end and although I’ve got the shoe for every occasion in my wardrobe I rotate 3 pairs.

Can I sell the ones I’ve bought and don’t use? Nope. Can’t let them go just in case.

Holiday wardrobe check now completed and I think I’ll get away lightly on the alteration front. Everything looks a bit big but in that casual beachy way. The only dilemma is a loose floaty dress I made last autumn which is huge and I’m not sure whether to try to take it in or to make it into something else.

Reallyyyyyy · 16/04/2025 12:23

Ah I haven't sold. None of my things where really worth selling. It was all shein really. But bought myself some nice things from boden, and hobbs which I love!

Boohoo76 · 16/04/2025 13:44

So I’ve seen my SIL posting negative comments about WL jabs on Instagram this morning. I don’t believe that she knows that I am using Mounjaro but I’m still feeling pissed off!

HeavyHeidi · 16/04/2025 14:14

you can do a WLI bingo based on her posts. What do we have so far, lazy way out and you'll pile the weight back on?

discov · 16/04/2025 15:19

Well done on the new stone bracket @Jins i am not too far behind you at 10st 3. I think I will be gobsmacked when the scales say 9 something. I still feel ‘big’ though.
