New thread for those who started in January 25. 3 months in and we're still going strong 💪

Week 15
SW 14.1.8
CW 11.1.8
Goal 1 11.7
Goal 2 11.0

I confess I have not been a little ray of sunlight this past week. It was the second week of taking progesterone for HRT, and we do not get on.

However, I’ve hit the 3 stone lost goal. 2 to go.
And on Saturday I tried on a tunic top sized S/M and it was huge!!

Polkadotdash · 14/04/2025 12:16

I have a question about the 5th dose. I’ve not done it on my previous three pens but this month I will have to to get me to payday to order my next one. Do you just force the pen clicker to get it to dispense? I have spare needles as IQ doctor always supply five with a pen. I’d been reading stuff about it not being an accurately blended dose but tbh I cannot see how it’s any different from the rest of the liquid in the pen.

Polkadotdash · 14/04/2025 12:23

Oh and on chub rub @HeavyHeidi I was discussing this with my best friend who is a size 8-10 super fit and toned gym fiend. She has it too. So I don’t think it’s down to weight.

HeavyHeidi · 14/04/2025 12:59

yes certainly depends on your build and if you have slimmer legs or more sturdy ones. I know I can escape the dreaded summer curse when I'm slim.

HeavyHeidi · 14/04/2025 13:02

@Polkadotdash yes that's what I've done, just forced the pen. I also don't see why the dose would be any different.

myladyjane · 14/04/2025 13:06

@Polkadotdash I do mine by using a medical grade syringe through the red seal. Simple to do. I have noticed though that my bonus dose week is tougher than my normal weeks so perhaps something in it that it’s not as mixed or something although that sounds a bit odd. I’d have thought it’s more like I don’t measure it properly

I have a good friend who is in no way overweight and has very gym toned legs but gets chub rub. I carry a lot of weight on my thighs but when they are anywhere close to not wobbly I don’t get it. I thought it was to do with your pelvis shape as well as fat distribution.

Hi all! Been MIA

Sw 87kg
Cw 70kg

Started 22nd January. 17kg (2.6stone) to date.

I've had amazing results. But it's made me feel ill..been on the 2.5mg throughout. Haven't exercised. It's just stopped me.eating anything. Now worried about coming off as I'm about 5 mg away from goal weight but might come off now.

Has anyone tried something like.orlistat after coming off to maintain? As I'm already kn the lower mounjaro dose. I don't want to be paying £200 a month for a 1 week o. And 1 week off woth 2 doses not going to use! Orlistat is about £50 a month

2025istheyeari · 14/04/2025 16:48

Thanks everyone! Congrats @KrankySchwester 🎉. Hope HRT side effects die down too, it took me a while to get used to them and a few dose tweaks but so much better on it than off!

@Zempy plateaus suck don’t they! Like Dg, I have upped my calories a bit when I’ve plateaud, and it’s shocked my body into a loss when I’ve reduced again, but that’s because I have no patience!! Hope things move soon.

@Reallyyyyyy well
done on a fab weight loss! Sorry it’s been rough though… no experience of orlistat sorry but I thought with some places you have the option of paying a lower amount each month and only buying ones if needed? Must admit I’ve not looked into it fully as still a way to go at the mo, but also interested in the answers! May it be worth looking at some
of the threads of people who started earlier than us and may be at maintenance?

HeavyHeidi · 14/04/2025 17:39

Orlistat is supposed to block fat, isn't it - so not sure it will work if my diet is healthy, I just like to eat too much of it.

Jins · 14/04/2025 18:06

I’d have a look at Oushk’s Flex plan @Reallyyyyyy

You could book a maintenance appointment and see what they suggest in person. I wouldn’t get on with Orlistat at all as it’s a fat blocker and I get most of my energy from fats.

Zempy · 14/04/2025 18:09

I didn’t get on well with Orlistat.

There was…leakage…🫣

Reallyyyyyy · 14/04/2025 18:20

Thank you! Ok I will stay away from orlistat!!

Jjsmum2007 · 14/04/2025 18:28

Hi all

I've been having a weird thing happen. Day or night, often when all cosy and warm in bed, sometimes even when half asleep, I suddenly go cold and get goosebumps in my lower body and legs. Lasts about 20- 30 seconds and is sometimes painful tingling! Really bizarre! Anyone else?

Week 14
Week 1 of 7.5mg
Height 5 ft 1

SW 12 st 6½ / 174.5 lb
CW 10 st 11½ / 151½ lb
GW not sure but maybe 9 st 7sh?

Gintime74 · 14/04/2025 19:58

10 weeks in after a false start, i have lost 1.5 stone and have just gone up to 7.5mg. I havent lost for the past 2 weeks so i am hoping the change in dose will help. I have been suffering with my back though so havent exercised and have probably drunk more alcohol than usual.

Thelittlestranger · 14/04/2025 20:08

I use a syringe for the bonus dose and it always gives me slightly more than a standard dose. If you break the pen and don't measure it, it will be a slightly larger dose. Good if you want to step up on the way to a larger dose.

Took my jab this morning, instead of yesterday. Have a 5mg pen and took an additional 5 clicks as I'm using my bonus dose this month to have a slightly higher dose. Second week of 5.6mg. Currently sat under a blanket freezing...

Vanity sizing is really an issue. Grabbed some clothes to try on and they were all massive. I am not, not have I ever been an XS.
And I live somewhere with shit shopping so need to order almost everything online. Annoying having to return 98%

BlueLimes · 15/04/2025 07:51

Good morning losers,

W14, 2nd dose of 10mg- some suppression, still fancy all foods! Guess good still having to use willpower.

SW 12.2
CW 10.6 and a half.
GW 9.3
BMI 26

I also need clothes, absolutely nothing I’ve seen that I want. My wedding ring is loose, DH said he’d get me one to wear next to it (I never take it off) so I guess that’s a NSV although to be honest I prefer a simple look and don’t wear my engagement ring much, I might get a small diamond band for a tiny bit of sparkle.

Hope everyone feels happy and positive. I hope my plodding gets me to within a stone of gosl
soon.

Reallyyyyyy · 14/04/2025 18:20

Thank you! Ok I will stay away from orlistat!!

I was prescribed these about 12 years ago and I was too scared to take them for that reason 😂

Jins · 15/04/2025 08:14

Morning all! Strange abdominal pain yesterday woke me in the wee small hours. Googling pancreatitis at 3 am is not my finest hour - scared myself senseless! Woke up this morning feeling fine. Probably not pancreatitis then!

Yesterday I decided to show my body who is boss and tell it once and for all that 10st 3 is not a goal weight. Carbs cut to the minimum etc. Hitting 10st exactly on my last weigh in then doing a slow creep upwards again is not a surprise but I really want to break this set point.

In other news I made a pair of linen trousers yesterday. I’ve had a piece of blue/grey linen hanging round for ages and it’s a good colour with most of my tops so will freshen my wardrobe up. Loose fit with a gathered waist so should be ok for half a stone either way. They looked as if they were deliberately loose rather than trying to accommodate a large belly. NSVs can give you such a boost.

@BlueLimes you’ve inspired me to try on my rings. I haven’t worn them for a long time and they were definitely too small last time I did.

Congrats on nearly getting to your goal weight! If you check out the maintenance thread there’s a list of providers who do maintenance. I’ve moved to Oushk so that I can switch to a maintenance plan once I reach my goal weight. I think they do 15% off and free postage so a 2.5mg pen would only cost £120.69

I agree, it’s frustrating. I had a voucher to use for River Island which is a shop I would never really look in. I’ve had it for ages and never found anything I like, but finally ordered a dress a few days ago and thought I’d risk getting a 10 since my jeans and leggings I got recently were a 10, and it’s absolutely massive on me! I’m just returning it and not trying an 8 because it’s annoyed me so much 😂

I’ve never really thought about it, but it must be difficult for some people who are really slim as I bet everything is just huge on them. I’ve seen videos recently saying the bigger sizes in the older girls ranges in Primark and Next fit size 8-10 so I wonder if those petite people have to shop in the kids ranges?

LillethCrane · 15/04/2025 09:10

Checked my BMI today and I am now overweight after losing 2st 11lbs.
1st 12lbs to go to get to a healthy weight- feels like a slog! The strangest thing is that I knew I was big for me, but I never felt I was that far away from a healthy weight!

Zempy · 15/04/2025 09:16

@LillethCrane congratulations!!

I know exactly what you mean. I genuinely thought I was “a bit overweight/tubby” but actually I was about twenty pounds into the obese category. I have lost two and a half stone and am still overweight.

I think I have some weird kind of body dysmorphia where I see myself as slimmer than I am!

Am looking forward to the Easter weekend when I will do the Great Seasonal Wardrobe Switcheroo. There are usually tears…

@discov yes, when I was 8 st 3 I wore a lot of children’s clothes. ASDA was my regular go to.

Jins · 15/04/2025 09:17

I did actually shop in the kids range when I lost weight on Atkins. It wasn’t so much the sizing that was the problem it was the assumption that someone who was a size 6 would have womanly hips. When I was a student, gaunt and bony I was in a size 10. Size 8 wasn’t very commonly found. I still have my jeans from that time - they are tiny!

I don’t think vanity sizing does anyone any favours.

DGonMJ · 15/04/2025 10:07

Week 15 day 3 and no idea what I weigh (since Friday) which is quite free-ing but also anytime I feel ‘full’ I worry I’ve put weight on. So a few emotions to work through here.

Compared to my usual MJ diet, I feel like I’ve been eating very decadently on this week away, something I’m trying to not feel guilty about, but also balancing out that all too familiar feeling of ‘fuck it, the diet’s off, might as well eat everything’ that has signalled the end of previous weight loss attempts.
We’ve booked a pub/restaurant every day and I’ve not once ordered the salad. However compared to other holidays I’m not eating chips, and haven’t yet ordered a pudding.

Went for another 2 hour walk yesterday which ended at a lovely seafood restaurant. Had a whole grilled mackerel yesterday which came in a buttery/olive oil dressing, was thinking I might not finish it - but I did! Then could only eat some of the broccoli side dish.
TMI but my colon is not happy with me today. Have had some stabbing pains which reminded me of the IBS I used to get when I was on my awful student diet of Tesco value pies. Not sure if this reaction is a lack of fibre, not enough water or too much fat. Or maybe all three.

Amongst all this I’ve got a small NSV, I packed a pair of comfy combat-style trousers with me for walking, but they’re so loose now I couldn’t guarantee they’d stay up on the walk so changed back out of them.
