New thread for those who started in January 25. 3 months in and we're still going strong 💪

A small celebration is in order! Renpho scales have recorded a sub-cut fat in the normal range and my metabolic age now matches my actual age. All metrics are now green!

HeavyHeidi · 07/05/2025 08:56

oh, we need a new thread soon!

NSV of today is that I'm wearing a dress I bought many years ago, it was way too small even if I was not my heaviest. But I really liked it and it's just my colour (dusky blue, I'm a summer as well), so I kept it, just in case. It's almost too big.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 07/05/2025 09:08

Morning all! Weigh in day and 2.4lbs down this week, which I'm really happy with after two slow weeks. I've confused myself slightly with how much I've injected as my pen stopped at 40 clicks and I had to make it up with the syringe. I was aiming for 6.4 from my 5mg pen, but I did 41 clicks and 3.5ml from the syringe, so I think that's more like 6.25.
Week 19 day 1
SW 223.6
CW 183.6
GW 140
I'm nearly at 3 stone lost, which is half way to goal!

asparagusfearne · 07/05/2025 10:18

@MananaPenelope is the wave in the background of the 'jabs' view - pic below - not the medication level? I've not subscribed but now wondering if I'm misunderstanding the graph!

Wednesday morning news: I'm in the 10's!! (By 0.001 of a lb I'm sure but I'm taking it!) 🎉

@MananaPenelope lovely that they get on with each other. I think it’ll be down to me to keep my two in touch when they’re older.

@Pandora71 excellent recovery you’ve made there, gives us all hope that we can still get back on track after a break and a gain.

@discov you are so young! I lost a load of weight in the 6 months leading up to my 40th and skin snapped back (bar the pregnancy stretchmarks).

@asparagusfearne congrats on hitting the 10s! 🎉

Down to 63kg exactly this morning. I may see the 62s end of this week. 600g to goal. Suppression still high this morning (still ate 2 eggs, toast and avocado), so I think I’ll have to titrate down soon. Maybe not next dose but the dose after.

I’m conscious I’ve been near this weight before (but with more muscle). A year later I’d put on 3kg, three years later (lockdown, wfh) I’d put on another 7kg, two years after that another 6kg. Need to reread all the research on long term maintenance and what the weight gain is for the majority of patients after three years (was it 20% of weight lost?)

tinyemmy · 07/05/2025 10:42

MananaPenelope · 07/05/2025 08:17

Thanks @tinyemmy , that’s what I needed, interesting to see that I’ve got about 5mg in my system (recorded a 2.5mg dose but I’m actually taking 3mg every 6 days).

You are very close to goal, well done. Will you stop or go onto a maintenance plan?

Yes, you end up with way more because of the cumulative effects, which means my coming down in dose is not as dramatic. In a few weeks time I'm sure I will be more hungry!
I am very excited to attempt to maintain, losing has been so easy it's tempting to keep going but I know if I ever need to come off that it will be really difficult at a lower weight.
I'm with SheMed so planning on staying on medication for at least the year. I don't know whether they will let me stay on 2.5 or if I will be forced to leave because it isn't a maintenance dose. In which case I will look for another provider, likely Oushk as they seem to be open to alternative maintenance options.

Congratulations on being so close to goal. I think it was 14% regained. I plan to stay on mj for at least a while to hopefully move my set point / get used to what maintenance calories needs to look like
I've already come down from 5 to 2.5, I can definitely eat more but using willpower to lose the last couple of pounds as I want to be able to eat more as soon as I've got to goal and don't want to force food in. Hopefully it was the right decision (some say to wait until you get to goal before titrating down, but given I'm on SheMed I can't adjust my doses as I don't want to impact the study)

@MananaPenelope the estimated level in the free version of Shotsy is in the calendar tab.

@tinyemmy thank you. It’s really useful to have a snapshot of the maximum weight I can be whilst still in the optimum range. I’m right on the edge today so I’m calling 9st 9 the weight I must never exceed again 🤣

I'm not sure I will get all in the green. I think in a pound or two I will have everything except subcutaneous fat which is still miles off. So I'm going to call my max weight when the others are in the green!

meatyryvita · 07/05/2025 13:36

I finally bought some super duper scales and I have to say, they are very rude!

They make me 2lbs heavier than my old ones but also they tell me that I have extremely high body fat (within a whisker of high), and an extremely high body fat mass - also very rude.

On the plus side, it says my muscle mass and bone mass are excellent, which, given I'm peri, is great news. It also says my body is 2 years older than I am, which isn't too bad.

Onwards and downwards!

Polkadotdash · 07/05/2025 13:55

@meatyryvita love the idea of bad mannered scales!

BlueLimes · 07/05/2025 16:19

@meatyryvita so rude !!!

fabulous losses - some teeny tiny people on here 😊(and rest of us in progress!).

My scales still tell me that I am obese despite now having a BMI of 22.8! They were extremely bad mannered before I started mj, probably why I avoided them!

Oh my word! That's bordering on offensive now - unacceptable!

DGonMJ · 07/05/2025 20:15

@meatyryvita the nerve! But yay for muscles!

Three people at work commented on my weightloss today ‘how have you done it?’. Not people I’m close enough to admit I’m on WLI, so stuck to the ‘eating more protein now I’m peri, and better work life balance means I can exercise more’

2025istheyeari · 07/05/2025 20:16

Busy, lovely chat today!! Wow, some amazing losses and nsvs, well done everyone!!! So pleased for those of you at or near goal. Commiserations to those sticking or finding it difficult, hopefully things will shift soon.
Loving the ill mannered scales chat, another definite reason for me not to get any!!

NSV here today, ordered a size medium linen jacket from H&M and a pair of size 12 wide leg jeans and they only bloody fit! Not only that but my 16 yo son told me I look good 😄

HeavyHeidi · 07/05/2025 20:26

not even sure if it's a NSV or not, but learn from my mistake and don't go all crazy shopping. A pair of trousers I bought just a month ago - they're too big.

Recipe recommendation, did the TikTok carrot salad this evening, kids loved it.

Several different variations around, I added chilli flakes too.

TikTok Viral Carrot Salad

This Viral Carrot Salad is simple and bursting with flavor! It's a combination of carrots with shallot and cilantro in an Asian dressing.

Well done everyone on the losses, and for just keeping on even when the losses aren’t what you’re hoping for. We will get there!

I did my second day of couch to 5k today and I think it was ever so slightly easier than the first. I still can’t believe that after a full day at work I came home, got changed and went out for a run! I would never have dreamed that would be possible a few months ago. I’m actually kind of looking forward to my next one (not looking forward to the aching thighs I know I’ll have tomorrow though)!

MananaPenelope · 08/05/2025 05:28

Morning, I’ve been awake for hours, home from work too late for my brain to switch off 😵‍💫. I’m out after work tonight too, more of the same, hopefully I can leave by 9pm.

I managed to navigate dinner ok, I ate fish, panfried with caper butter, but it was the best thing on the menu for me.

I’ve weighed myself already today. I was getting a bit fed up with being stuck/fluctuating, from 94.8 last Thursday to 92.4 today. 🙏 thank the Lord.

HeavyHeidi · 08/05/2025 06:08

No loss for me this week, the 4-day weekend really does not work for weight loss purposes. But no biggie, onwards and downwards. Am at my old nemesis lifelong sticky point now, so let's see if MJ will help me to get over it. Or under.

MJalltheway · 08/05/2025 07:12

Morning all. Fab news @MananaPenelope that you are properly down this week!
Week is going very well, been exercising every day so far so rest day for me today. I don't even think about food now in terms of 'dieting'. It's just complete habit now.
Went on an impromptu night out (for An Evening With... type thing at the theatre) last night with DS (he's 17) which was lovely. We don't do many things just the two of us. My DD is back at uni so the house is much quieter!

BreezyPeer · 08/05/2025 07:21

Wonderful losses and nsvs on here this week! Had a little nsv yesterday. I bought 2 tops in a size 12 from Next on Vinted and they fit! I had gone up to a 16 top so this is definite progress.
Weigh day and jab day here.
2lb loss to make a 2st 8lb loss altogether ❤️
Just need another 1lb to get to my interim goal.

Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing ❤️

MJalltheway · 08/05/2025 07:27

Ooh I forgot my nsv/bargain! I bought a gorgeous Monsoon summer dress off Vinted, size 16, for £2.50! and it fits nicely and I look bloody amazing if I do say so myself!😁
