New thread for those who started in January 25. 3 months in and we're still going strong 💪

I’m on my second 7.5mg pen and I’ve realised that my food noise is back. I find myself planning meals in my head without meaning to, in way that I wasn’t doing before- I just didn’t think about food for a while there and it was bliss. I’m definitely needing more will power at the moment to stay in my calorie deficit. Anyone else experiencing this?

millenialmolly · 04/05/2025 09:42

@herinthehillyep, me! 25lbs down but still another 5 stone to go realistically 🫠 feel like I’m never going to get there- but that’s just me being impatient! Started MJ middle of Jan so my weight loss is definitely slow and steady, although I haven’t really had major suppression since the first few weeks of 2.5mg.

I’m guessing I’ll average at about 1st every 2 months if so far is anything to go by. Could be slower because of my thyroid issues or maybe just how my body is responding to MJ. I naively thought that because I have a lot to lose it might have been more by now. One of my best friends started three weeks ago and has lost nearly the same amount as me 😭. Moving up to 10mg after my golden dose next week so we’ll see.

millenialmolly · 04/05/2025 09:44

@LillethCraneYes, definitely. I’ve found myself thinking about ‘treats’ whereas I just wasn’t interested a few months ago.

MJalltheway · 04/05/2025 09:46

Ive just taken my 6th 7.5mg jab and last week was definitely snacking more. Seems to have calmed down again now though, so sticking with it.

CurlsandCurves · 04/05/2025 09:48

I’ve got about 4 stone left to lose, started Jan 28th. 20lb gone so far.

@millenialmolly i have a similar pattern to you, average about half a stone per month. And I’m happy with that. I know what you mean about seeing other people losing loads every week, it can be disheartening. But this is my journey and I’ll get there in my own time.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 04/05/2025 09:49

@herinthehill me too, I've lost almost 3 stone which is halfway to target, so I'll still be here through to the end of the year I expect.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 04/05/2025 09:55

NSV today, i tried on a pair of size 14 jeans I bought on vinted a while back and I could actually get them done up! I couldn't wear them out as the muffin top above was something else, but I couldn't get them done up at all before, so it's going in the right direction.

MananaPenelope · 04/05/2025 10:02

@CurlsandCurves , I started at the same time as you, very similar weight loss. I don't seem to be able to tolerate more than 2.5mg but I've injected 5 days apart and been ok so that is what I am going to do for now.

I'm freezing today, the temperature has really dropped and I still feel it on MJ - all gardening plans abandoned.

Schnooka · 04/05/2025 10:05

Hi all,
Been lurking over the past couple of threads watching and being inspired by you lovely lot. Congratulations on all the losses!

Mine is looking to be a long old road. Have lost 18kg to this point, but have another 30kg (ffs!!!) to go until I will be slap bang in the middle of healthy.
Losses have stopped for last couple of weeks, was aiming for overweight by June so need a whooosh soon.
Have been busting out the dumbbells and on week 3 of c25k and in general taking more care about myself. Feels good. Focussing on the nsvs, new smaller jeans and a hint of clavicle. Sleeping a lot better too.

However either peri or the MJ &weight loss or my enormous fibroids have made me have the longest &heaviest periods. They were bad before, but now ridiculous. Drs booked.

Also haven’t told a soul, except one friend who has been also taking MJ.

Jins · 04/05/2025 10:05

Fab achievement @DGonMJ. I’m within a whisker of my actual age I think. I’ve got 0.2% to get sub-cut fat into the normal range and I hope that will do it.

I’m on 68% of the way to goal. I’ll be around for a while yet.

HeavyHeidi · 04/05/2025 10:13

Definitely ate too much yesterday. Have to remind myself to slow down and stop when I'm full. The childhood 'clean your plate, don't waste food' voice in my head is still very strong. Put on a full kilo overnight, but not panicking - food was also salty, so it's mostly just water retention. But 4-day weekends are not good for me from weight loss perspective.

Did Caroline Girvan Beast Mode yesterday, will try another from that series - can feel my legs today.

That’s great @jins interesting how different our body compositions are.
I’m 0.3 BMI points away from ‘healthy’ (for my ethnicity) but still need to lose 3% of subcut fat for that to be ‘standard’, and 0.2% total body fat to be ‘acceptable’ but actually another 7.1% for it to be ‘healthy’.

BlueLimes · 04/05/2025 10:32

@herinthehill I’ll be here for years, I’ve about a stone and a half to go, losing about half a stone a month but it’s really made me realise how the struggle won’t stop and I’ll possibly need maintenance long term.

@HeavyHeidi i also ate and drank too much, social things ate a struggle.

great achievement @DGonMJ

2025istheyeari · 04/05/2025 10:32

@herinthehill me too! I’ve lost 21kg,
still got 8kg to go to get right to the top of healthy and probably 12 if I want to get to the midway point, going to see how I go! So in old
money, 1 stone 2 to top and 2 stone to mid point.

I’ve been wild swimming this morning, felt so good! 400m as I then got a bit chilly. About to take the dog out, step count up this week so hoping that upping the exercise will help
with the flab!

I’m on my 3rd 7.5mg pen and definitely finding more food noise, I’ve increased my calories this week as been really hungry,
not sure why. I’ve got a 10mg for next time, but 3 doses left of 7.5.

well done on the metabolic age @DGonMJ that is phenomenal 🎉. I’m frightened to get scales which show me that and fat, I think it would completely shock me, one step at a time!!

have a nice Sunday all, it’s definitely chillier today!

BlueLimes · 04/05/2025 10:53

@2025istheyeari you could give more from your 7.5mg pen? 0.8 would be 10mg.

Has anyone topped up mid week ? Or given every 6 days?

Polkadotdash · 04/05/2025 11:34

@LillethCrane im on my second 7.5mg pen and noticing the lack of suppression. I never had food noise so there isn’t any difference there. But I currently feel like I’m not on MJ at all. I wonder if it’s just a plateau or if I need to go up to 10mg.

JoanCollinsDiva · 04/05/2025 11:37

Gosh you're brave 2025istheyeari - I'm cold today! It must be so exhilarating though once you get past the shock!

My night out was great thanks, ended up having a really good laugh and was very pleased I'd gone. Also got quite a few compliments and called "skinny" (I'm definitely not) which was nice. At the beach today and about to have a long walk. Still much hungrier than usual and ate a load of crisps last night and also had a few drinks both last night and on Friday night. I'm a bit worried about going down from 7.5mg il be honest. I'm going to jab my new 7.5mg pen tomorrow and then I guess I'll just have to see how I go. I've another 4lbs to go until I reach my goal which il hopefully lose over the next month and then I titrate down to 5 then 2.5 for maintenance. I'm just hoping juniper will let me stay on a higher dose if it's not working anymore. I'd be ok with just staying where I am now I guess - my worry is putting any back on and getting those horrible binge behaviours and impossible-to-ignore cravings back.

Hmm that’s an idea, I haven’t done anything apart from standard doses so far, nor taken the golden dose, how would I do that? Thanks!

Have you any syringes? That’s the easiest way to adjust a dose. You could see if the pen would let you do 60 clicks then another 20?

I had a horrendous period which has just finished. I was 2 weeks late. Started with a normal flow which started to slow. Then suddenly in lots of pain and full of cramps. Then a heavy period for about a week. Just awful. But then was 3lbs down after.

Thank you for the reassurance everyone. Feeling a bit better for it. 😊

discov · 04/05/2025 15:11

I have woken up this morning just scraping into a healthy BMI. Never thought I’d see the day!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 04/05/2025 16:35

I’ve got a lot further to go than most of you, I need to lose about 12 stone in total 😳. But I’m well on my way and for the first time in my life it actually feels like it might be possible 🤞. I went for a long walk today and am about to do one of the Caroline Girwan workouts recommended on this thread. I’ve also downloaded the couch to 5k app and plan to start that tomorrow, no idea if I can do it or not and I am terrified at the thought of running in public but I’m going to give it a shot!

You will absolutely do it!! Well done on the exercise too! When I did couch to 5k, I ran up and down my drive, not the most exciting but

2025istheyeari · 04/05/2025 17:32

Argh, sorry! It meant I could shut the gate and no one would see me 🤣. I have eye problems and can’t see bumps etc well enough to run anywhere else really. I did a 5k, once and decided it probably wasn’t for me. It’s an amazing programme though and super motivational to see how far you can get in a relatively short period of time. Good luck 💪🏻.
massive congrats @discov thats bloody amazing!!!

Thanks, I don’t have any syringes, have never done the golden dose. I’m ok ( I think!) with needles but not sure I could inject myself- how odd is that actually, I already do but you know what I mean! I think I’ll stick with 7.5 this week and see how I go, will have to rely on willpower!

How lovely was it waking up this morning and knowing we have no work 🎉. Have a great bank holiday all, I’m cold plunging today.
weighed myself this morning as I have an early start tomorrow.

week 18 ( tomorrow!)
sw 16 3 1/2 (103kg)
cw 12 12 (81.5kg)
gw 11 10 ( 74kg)

total loss to date 3 stone 6 1/2 pounds or 21.8kg

I’ve upped the steps this week and started to do ( v infrequent and light!) weights, 3kg only but you have to start somewhere right!!

enjoy your day everyone!
