Have you had the good weather where you are @HeavyHeidi? Slap some fake tan on and get those legs out!!

I am loving the warm weather, it suits me perfectly. Hotter please!!!

So after I injected 7.5 Thursday night, I stupidly decided to have a Treat Day yesterday as I was meeting DS and his friends for lunch. I ate 3/4 of a bacon and egg baguette thing, and a pint of lager.

One, or both of those choices led to me having a very unpleasant night, back and forth to the loo. I just about managed not to be sick but it was a close call. I am feeling very foolish, but I was so enjoying kicking back in the sun with the young people 😍

Back to controlled choices for the rest of the week.

Sending hugs to those planning for funerals.

@Jins lol I know what you mean. 'Oh, DH, when you take photos, can you make sure to take it from under my chin? Yes yes really good angle, that's the one that makes me look most like a barrel' :D

@Zempy yes we had 28 degrees yesterday (and a long weekend, 1st of May off and almost everybody took a bridge day on Friday). I spent most of the day pottering in the garden in just tiny shorts and vest top, and didn't feel sweaty and uncomfortable.

I also thought I'll have just a little handful of crisps. Eugh. First they left a really funny taste in my mouth and felt quite uncomfortable after that as well. Will stick to fruit for snacks.

Hello all and well done everyone on some absolutely amazing losses.

I don’t think I’ve posted on this thread at all. April went by in a flash for me. Spent two weeks of it with awful flu. Lost 5lbs one week but only because I couldn’t eat.
I decided to stick at 5mg for a third time, didn’t fancy putting my body through possible side effects from the increase in dose.
Had a bit of a plateau following that.
I have lost a couple of pounds since but ordered 7.5 for my next pen. I want to see those scales going downwards again.

I currently weigh the lightest I’ve been for a good few years.
I’ve got loads of loose wrinkly skin but I expected that and it doesn’t bother me too much. I’ve never had great skin tone anyway and after two biggish pregnancy bumps my stomach never properly recovered.

I set my GW at 133lbs when I started this journey and I would like to try and achieve it. It really feels possible now.

Onwards and upwards.

SW 196lbs
CW 155lbs
GW 133lbs

BreezyPeer · 03/05/2025 09:15

I have been having a sticky few weeks I am just, this morning, 1/4 lb less than 2 weeks ago. I've been going up and down (mostly up) 2 lbs since then.
Interesting to look at my loss and see it is often lower at the weekend and comes up slightly by weigh day on Wednesday.

Feel quite desperate to hold onto this loss now.
I have started strength training with my pilates teacher ( she does online strength classes 3 times a week).
I am going to do one of those today. But also have some DIY to do 😅. (Happy Bank Holiday to me!) When I am painting walls I am going to listen to the podcast upthread.

I hope everyone has a good Saturday and weekend 😊

I also liked another statement in the article - nobody would claim that alcoholism is caused by 'overdrinking'. But obesity - ah that's just overeating, let's teach the fatties some discipline and self-control.
Was just thinking about it when having dinner with some friends who are all slim. Effortlessly slim, I asked. None of them have ever dieted. They just eat at mealtimes (they're all French, so don't do constant snacking) and then stop. And they do not think about food otherwise. I guess if you assume that everybody is like you, it can be easy to trot out that one should 'just' eat less.

I was banging on about the Oprah podcast on YouTube when I first started MJ and the GLP-1 specialist professor says the exact same thing about obesity and alcoholism. They spoke about how in the 80s/90s alcoholism was treated the same way obesity is now, but now we consider it as a disease. In the future she believes obesity will have the same change in perception too.

discov · 03/05/2025 09:55

I’ve officially changed my goal from 9st 7 to bang on 9st in my tracking app. So 1st 1.2lbs left to go!

MJalltheway · 03/05/2025 10:48

sorry to hear about so many sad losses and funerals ❤️
Not much planned for bank holiday weekend here, will be driving eldest DC back to uni ready for exam season 😬
DH got his annual bonus last week. Each year we get something each as a treat from it (and then save most of it!). I'm pondering what to do for mine this year, I suggested a treadmill but DH not keen.

HeavyHeidi · 03/05/2025 11:50

set of weights? Cardio is of course good, but as you have kids in uni, I am thinking you're not 18 any more, so resistance training more important.

BlueLimes · 03/05/2025 12:12

Sorry to hear of sad times. Also hope you’re ok @2025istheyeari
Anazing to be at goal @TicTac80 or near it @HeavyHeidi

i put on a lb yesterday, had a stressful work day so ended up eating half an Easter egg in annoyance/ comfort. lb has disappeared this morning though.

Have a lovely sunny day.

BlueLimes · 03/05/2025 12:14

And @tinyemmy fab progress 😊

Randomusernameforcode · 03/05/2025 13:44

Sending support to those who have suffered with losing loved ones recently 🩷

BreezyPeer · 03/05/2025 20:03

Just had a nsv, which I needed! I have a smartish pub dinner next weekend and want/need a new outfit. I ordered size 14 jeans 👖 in a brand/fit I have had before, in bigger sizes (started at 18 and more recently 16). They FIT!!!! I am so happy especially after my recent stickiness. ☺️ Just waiting on some tops 👚 from Vinted to see what the whole outfit will be.
I listened to the podcast while doing some DIY earlier. Loved it! No judgement and sound scientific argument for the path we have all taken.
Loving hearing everyone's stories xxx

HeavyHeidi · 03/05/2025 20:05

Did you also take them out of the bag and thought that oh, no way, those are way too small? I keep doing it with all my shopping, and then they fit. Or are too big, sent 2 pairs of jeans back because of that today.

Zempy · 03/05/2025 20:46

I appear to have gone crazy on Vinted today and ordered loads of size 12 clothes!!! I don’t know what came over me. Maybe it’s because I spent half the night on the loo so I am tired?

Anyway, I also listed loads of stuff so it should all balance out.

Very low calorie day today. Probably under 700. Not surprising given the errors I made on Friday. Hoping to lose another pound this week. Loss has really slowed down, but it’s still going to get me to a healthy weight. Eventually!

BreezyPeer · 03/05/2025 21:33

@HeavyHeidi
I did! I actually held the jeans up to me and thought 'no way!' I was shocked when they actually fitted!!
@Zempy Vinted is addictive! And when you have money in your account, everything you buy is 'free!'

Pandora71 · 03/05/2025 21:52

Post MJ break update - my first week back on MJ has been so so. Suppression definitely not significant back down at 2.5mg so my plan is to inject 3.5mg after 6 days as a bit of a catch up.

@DareDevil223 also a big Adriene fan. I should start one of her series again!

Lots of inspiring losses and awesome to hear people getting to their goal ranges and starting to think about maintenance. I’ve got a little stockpile in the fridge - a 5mg pen and a 7.5mg pen, which is potentially enough for me to get to my initial goal of another stone. I’m then going to stockpile enough for ~3 months with the plan of reducing down.

I made some gorgeous food from the Dishoom cookbook today. It was nice to enjoy cooking and eating, which I wasn’t really when I am very suppressed. Trying to take the positives of having a plateau week.

BlueLimes · 03/05/2025 21:55

Oh Lordy I’ve had 3 wines, BBQ food and a small slice of cake, fingers crossed for my weigh in Tuesday - hic!!

herinthehill · 04/05/2025 08:29

Gosh. I still have a couple of stone to lose. Think I must be slower and perhaps started heavier.
Anyone else still got a fair way to go? Slow and steady is good for me. (Seems to be how my body has responded to MJ).

MananaPenelope · 04/05/2025 08:56

Me @herinthehill , anywhere up to 18kg, I’ve lost nearly 11kg to date, week 14 as I’ve had two breaks due to not feeling well. Fairly happy with 1-2 lb a week but frustrated atm as I seem to be fluctuating upwards and not losing much.

I’m not enjoying much food atm, just not enjoying eating things I normally do and struggling to be bothered to cook. This isn’t like me, I enjoy cooking, it helps me to switch off when I get home. I’m trying something different this week. I selected four recipes at Waitrose and just clicked on ‘add to trolley’, so four new things to try to see if it makes a difference to enjoying eating something.

I do feel like I’m not running on 100% on MJ, definitely have not got my usual energy levels.

BreezyPeer · 04/05/2025 09:07

@herinthehill @MananaPenelope
I also still have a lot to lose! I am 2.5 stone down and still 1.5 to my original (top of healthy BMI) weight but will probably want to go lower when I get there.
I have been steadily losing 2lb a week until the last couple of weeks when I have stayed the same or gained 🙄
Hopefully back on a losing streak now but I am here for the long run, xxx

DGonMJ · 04/05/2025 09:13

Week 18 Day 1 - 8th dose of 5mg. Just the bonus dose left in this pen now and another 5mg pen in the fridge.

SW 79.6kg - BMI 29.2
CW 63.2kg - 0.5kg lost this week - BMI 23.2
TW 62.4kg - BMI 22.9

Big achievement today - Renpho scales have me at my actual age! I’m no longer metabolically older! Visceral fat is down to 6, but body fat is still 32.1% so despite being close to a healthy BMI I’m still carrying an obese amount of fat.

Am on day 4 of my cycle today, so hoping to see numbers in the 62s on the scale next week. But feeling good overall about my weight and shape.

MJalltheway · 04/05/2025 09:13

Quite a way to go here too @herinthehill. I've lost around 13-14kg and still 17kg to go.
Weighed this morning and down 0.5 kg since official weigh on Friday so looks like we're off again on a downwards trajectory.
Doing a kettlebell workout this morning, final workout of the week to hit my target of 4.
I still struggle to find any strength training enjoyable but I know it needs to be done. Got a gym induction booked tomorrow as well.

Me! I’m at about 62% progress to my goal now, still need to lose about 1.5-2 stone to get there!

LillethCrane · 04/05/2025 09:26

@herinthehill I have a way to go too! I’m nearly 3st down, so I have a stone until my first target (which is still in the overweight category) but I could lose another 4st and still not be at my lowest adult weight, so who knows!
