Quick question before I contact MedExpress..

Had a chest infection for two weeks, one round of antibiotics and now an inhaler as I’ve been feeling breathless etc. Due to jab tomorrow evening… for those who have been ill or had infections, have you postponed or skipped a dose or just carried on as normal?

MananaPenelope · 30/04/2025 20:15

I’ve skipped a week twice @millenialmolly , I’ve spoken to Ouskh both times. Once a weird virus and another gastric side effects.

LillethCrane · 30/04/2025 20:42

I’ve just been catching up on the last few pages- well done everyone!

I’m finding my weight loss is much slower on my second 7.5mg than I would have liked. So I’ve decided to find other positives this month!

I started taking supplements when I started MJ and I’ve been consistent every day. I’ve now introduced collagen and I feel so much better having the nutrients I need every day.

I started a new skin care routine at the same time and I’ve stuck to that every single day and my skin looks clear and healthy.

I’m still in exactly the same clothes as when I started (even though I’m 2st 11lbs lighter 🙄 ) but now the weather is heating up, I realise I am so much comfier and cooler than last summer.

So all in, lots of positives to keep me going whilst I wait for the scales to move again!

Something unexpected happened today. I'm having to return a pair of size 10 trousers from Cos because they are huge on me, especially round the waist.

I don't think this means that I'm smaller than a 10 but it's not something I foresaw or could ever have imagined a couple of years ago. Madness.

I had the same thing with a dress from River Island. Took a punt on a size 10 as I’m more 10 than 12 now and it was so big on me! Even taking a chance on a size 10 is so alien to me so I was gobsmacked when it was too big.

MissPobjoysPonies · 30/04/2025 20:50

Have bitten the bullet and ordered 7.5mg so hoping for suppression and loss - I’ve lost 2lbs in 5 weeks but the last 4 I’ve maintained. So hoping for a push for loss again - not huge weekly losses but some losses would be nice

discov · 30/04/2025 20:51

A little NSV. Played Just Dance on the Switch with my dd this evening and found it soooo easy. Previously I would get out of breath and tired really easily but since I’ve dropped a couple of stone it wasn’t a problem at all. I’m an exercise hater so it’s not like I’ve been hitting the gym or anything, it’s purely off losing some extra weight.

Well done! My DD is obsessed with just dance, I'll have to give it another go 2 stone lighter!
It's a really good thing to do to find something that weighs what you have lost every now and again and try carrying it around. It really brings home why we were so sore and knackered all the time!

Try doing Rasputin and see if you get out of breath 😂

My cocker spaniel weighs 2kg more than what I have lost so every time I pick him up it makes me think about it!

God is that the one with the Cossack style dancing? I can't be doing with that! 😂 There's a BlackPink song on one of them (we have about 5 different versions of it!) that I'm pretty decent at!

Randomusernameforcode · 30/04/2025 21:28

Loving all the NSV!
Well done everyone 😊

DGonMJ · 30/04/2025 21:56

Busy day here, loving the NSV chat! I too had that lovely realisation that movement was just so much easier now. My bedroom is in the loft and I used to really feel every step up the stairs…now it’s just moving my legs as opposed to heaving myself up.

I had a big industry event today and realised last night my outfit I had planned to wear was going to be too warm - tried on a bunch of other outfits and was sad to find a dress that had been too tight on me last summer is now too big. It fits perfectly from the front with a belt added, but my silly short torso means the back zip is too bulky.

I still haven’t ventured into a shop yet to try on sizes. Partly nervous that actually I haven’t lost enough to comfortably fit into the next size down, partly wanting ‘to be sure’ I don’t put it all back on again, but (most importantly) I need to hold off on spending this month after a few unexpected costs have cropped up. Might have to wait till June - which is ma birfday so a good excuse to treat myself.

Period is v nearly here. Will wait till weekend to weigh.

Chopsticks888 · 01/05/2025 05:29

@millenialmolly I also had a chest infection and skipped a whole month until I was off antibiotics and back to normal, my provider was happy for me to do this as long as I restarted on 2.5 which was my dose anyway. I continued losing weight, albeit more slowly, during that month. I think because my body was still getting used to mj at that point (I’d just finished 1st pen) and was having some side effects I wanted to eliminate any extra pressures on my body. However it might be different at this point on the mj journey, definitely worth speaking to pharmacist. Hope you’re better soon.

BreezyPeer · 01/05/2025 05:30

Weigh in and jab day today.
I've lost the lb I put on last week but no whoosh for me! I seem to have met a previously unknown sticking point! I guess I haven't been this weight for years so I didn't know.

MananaPenelope · 01/05/2025 05:45

😩, I’ve gained weight fgs. It could be hot weather related fatness but a bit disheartening all the same. My food intake is good although I’ve had a couple of days heading towards 1200 cals.

HeavyHeidi · 01/05/2025 06:59

After last weeks tiny loss, I've wooshed - 2.1 kilos! (pretty sure one of the kilos is exclusively from boobs, which nowadays clearly resemble pancakes 😂)
I'm just 200gr off my initial GW - but I want to lose a bit more now. I just didn't believe I would ever see those numbers on the scale.

Disappointingly, muscle mass % has gone down a bit. Really have to up my protein intake and weights. I just find protein so boring, would live on fruits and vegetables if I could.

RockyisMYRhino · 01/05/2025 07:15

Finally found you all again!! I’ve managed to convince DH to let me go up to 7.5 (he’s paying for it for me but has decided to stay at 5 himself) so will have my first jab of that later. Fingers crossed that I’ll get the pounds off a bit quicker as he’s catching me up quickly (have been fluctuating between 2lbs on and then off again for a month or so now) and I don’t want to be heavier than him really!! We’re off to the seaside for the weekend tomorrow so hopefully won’t be too tempted by ice creams/candy floss etc like the last few years!
SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 13st 9lb
Loss this week: 2.8 lb
GW: 10st 7lb

Laura7010 · 01/05/2025 07:35

Catching up and chuckling about trips to the spa with colleagues! I went to the Therme Spa last year with two colleagues on our first day of the summer holidays (teachers) voluntarily! In fact I think it was my idea😂Though I’d feel better this year being two stone lighter!

Im off to the Alton Towers Water Park in May half term with a friend and our little ones. We’re both on MJ and feeling good about getting those swimming cossies on.

I hit 2 stone loss yesterday which I’m pleased with and my next focus is getting into the next stone bracket. I have seen a number on the scale starting with 10 since my twenties.

SW 13.04
CW 11.04
GW 10.06

meatyryvita · 01/05/2025 07:49

Just about - 0.25lb this week - probably to be expected after last weeks’ 3lb whoosh.

Week 14 Day 1
SW 15st 10lbs
CW 13st 5.9lbs
GW 9st 10lbs

I’m hitting my protein, water, and workout goals so onwards and downwards! Have a great day losers!

cloudjumper · 01/05/2025 08:11

I had an unexpected NSV yesterday- I had to tighten up the straps on my Birkenstock sandals! My feet now hardly swell up, which will be such a relief now that the weather is getting warmer. My rings also sit noticeably looser.

I am now faced with having to purchase a set of new clothes, but sadly, it is not as happy an event as I had anticipated. DH youngest sister passed away from leukemia 2 weeks ago, and I will need clothes to wear for the funeral. 😔

HeavyHeidi · 01/05/2025 08:14

so sorry for your loss @cloudjumper

meatyryvita · 01/05/2025 08:48

Oh that's awful @cloudjumper - so very sorry.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 01/05/2025 09:08

@cloudjumper so sorry to hear. My bf’s mother died on Easter Monday so I too have to think funeral outfits. It’s worse when someone young dies though, as they’re robbed of a full life. I say this as a widow.

So much for finally losing my first stone in 15 weeks - I put on 1.5lb, a weight which usually takes me a month to lose. So I feel your pain @MananaPenelope . I’m actually in the same place as my scales until Monday so I’ll be frantically weighing and hoping that this is an anomaly and the scales were just having a bad day. And giving me a bad day as a result

Polkadotdash · 01/05/2025 09:12

@cloudjumper so sorry to hear that. You really are having a difficult time at the moment.

@0ncemorewithfee1ing and sorry to hear your news too. Sending love.

JoanCollinsDiva · 01/05/2025 09:33

Aw that's awful cloudjumper so sorry 💐 hearing things like that gives me a kick up the bum to banish my bad mood and make the most of every day ❤️

Great NSV's everyone. I put a pair of Zara jeans on at the weekend that I was convinced would be too tight and they were slightly loose. I was so surprised and pleased.

Laura7010
That's a fantastic idea re Alton water park, I didn't know they had one. We don't live too far but have never taken the dcs although the older ones have been with friends. Dd13 who is struggling atm loves water parks so it would probably really cheer her up - I'm going to have a look.

Mananapenelope
Sympathies with the gain - you are being so consistently good I feel for you. You know it'll come off, but this patience thing does get annoying!
And what a let down re the colleague in question only being your female pa! I was hoping for tales of a hunk in tight speedos 🤣🤣🤣

discov
I once did "Rasputin" on just dance and couldn't complete it. It's such a tune and I was convinced in my mind I could do the Cossack stuff and everything but I lasted about 20 seconds. Must dig it out again and see if dd will join in. Dh recently joined her doing the double one in the arcade at the Trafford centre (she would usually do it with older dd who is at uni). It was one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed! He has very long skinny legs and no coordination 😂

HeavyHeidi · 01/05/2025 09:37

If anybody is getting discouraged becuse you've lost so many pounds but can't see as much difference as you hoped - I can confirm that paper towel theory is correct. Now that I'm close to goal, every tiny extra loss is visible. Don't give up because you stall!
