That is so pretty @HeavyHeidi. I don’t think I’ve had a pretty swimsuit since I was a child. Perhaps this year is the year

UnderandOverwhelmed · 30/04/2025 10:30

That's a lovely costume @HeavyHeidi ,I also normally buy bravissimo but I'm not sure what size I am. I also prefer swimming shorts type tankinis so I don't have to worry about bikini line. We aren't on a proper holiday until October, which I'm really looking forward to after lots of recommendations, hopefully I'll be much smaller by then!

JoanCollinsDiva · 30/04/2025 10:31

Me too BlueLimes
Do tell mananapenelope! 😂

Heavyheidi
Your "spa with colleagues" talk made me shudder with horror 😂. It's funny how the British tend to be so much more prudish that the Scandinavians/Germans.

JoanCollinsDiva · 30/04/2025 10:32

Sorry, highlighting fail there "Heavyheidi* - I agree that's a lovely swimsuit.

JoanCollinsDiva · 30/04/2025 10:32

Oh good grief I give up 🙈

MananaPenelope · 30/04/2025 11:42

Oh 🤣, sorry to disappoint, my lovely PA who I’ve known since my kids were little. She’s the person I used to take to my spa a couple of times a year. Don’t get the wrong idea, it’s not that I want to see her textile free, just that I probably have in past times. You lot 🤪.

Polkadotdash · 30/04/2025 11:46

Just out of interest - am I the only one gaining at the moment? I’m on my second 7.5mg pen, two doses in. I think my next one will have to be 10mg or I will regret selling my big size 16 stuff.

Well I am certainly not dropping so easily! I might even have gained over the last 2 days - which is super annoying as I am really watching what I eat (not one Easter egg!) I have just done my second dose of 5mg - slowly moving up as the side effects are still a challenge - especially the Wed - Fri period (I inject Tuesdays) even though the suppression is good - but that weight is not shifting quickly. The strange thing is that when I made a huge effort 2 years ago, I also ended up at the same weight I am at the moment - like it is where my body wants to be. BMI still over so not ideal. Will keep plodding along in the hope something happens!

The spa talk with colleagues made me laugh - I work with super fit mostly younger people - (outdoor focussed industry) and we often swim in the lake together and sauna times are their preferred team experience - it is an incentive for me to keep going on this journey I can tell you!

Pandora71 - thank you for your write up re your holiday experiences - super interesting and informative - looking at doing something similar this July as we are away from 3 weeks, just can't really risk the D&V as we are well off the beaten track!

HeavyHeidi · 30/04/2025 12:28

Now to be clear, spa is optional and not a mandatory part of the meeting. But it looks great, so would be a shame not to take advantage of it.

Jins · 30/04/2025 12:58

A lake swim and sauna would be right up my street but I’m not much of a fan of a spa. Can’t bear being touched by strangers - haircuts are a challenge and can’t even begin to think how I’d feel about a massage.

The guy running the Hammam in our hotel in Turkey last year was very amused to see me shudder every time he suggested a Turkish bath. I told him on Day 2 why I wasn’t interested but he kept asking because it was funny

I’m struggling a bit with constipation on these higher doses. All was well on 5mg and the first couple at 6.25mg. I think I might finish this pen at 7.5mg and then titrate back down again. Or maybe start titrating back down when I reach 9st 7.

Thelittlestranger · 30/04/2025 13:35

@BlueLimes you are only 4lbs off 2 stone, which is what I've lost in the same amount of time (possiblity longer? I started just before NY) These last few lbs have been super slow - I'm within cals, exercise, drink water. I just think this is my set point - and it can take 8-12 weeks apparently to get past it. I'm ok waiting (I think) I'm eating well, feel good so let's see what happens. Would love to use MJ to find my new set point...

I think I have my very first side effect! I definitely feel nauseous so I’m hoping weight loss will kick in too. Unless the nausea is induced by the thought of my colleagues in swimwear…. I’m an introvert who finds any kind of enforced fun appalling though - I even dread drinks after work.

@BlueLimes I‘m definitely a non-super responder too. Not yet lost a stone although I have been going for 14.5 weeks. Still hopeful though (see above!)

I do have appetite reduction, but when I do eat, I could easily eat loads and struggle on resisting the lure of sugar. The only other - very unwelcome - side effect is flatulence 💨😳. Could really do without that.

cloudjumper · 30/04/2025 13:58

Only a small loss for me this week, but that’s ok - I’m still adjusting post-surgery and not focussing on calories at the moment. Still getting v good suppression on 7.5 mg, evident by the fact that I don’t fancy any chocolate or biscuits at all and have to remind myself to eat. Happy with that for now. Still struggling with constipation 😫 those enemas are looking more appealing every day (here’s something I never thought I’d say!).
However, muscle wastage is a real concern now, as I cannot do any weight-bearing exercise for a while, and I will literally have to start at zero (at least it will feel like that) 😢

One of my colleagues really doesn't like my weight loss. Every time she sees me, she needs to comment that surely I am not finished with losing weight, I'm getting too skinny. You don't need to lose any more, you're done now, right??
I am nowhere near being skinny, never mind too skinny.

Sadly, it's often convenient for people to have a 'fat friend', it makes them feel better about themselves, which is a bloody shame. It's her issue not yours but she should mind her own business.

It’s such a shame when people feel they have to put a downer on someone else’s achievements because they’re jealous. Only thing you can do is not engage and change the subject.

2025istheyeari · 30/04/2025 16:16

The hotel sounds amazing @HeavyHeidi but omg the thought of textile free with friends let alone work colleagues is stressful, like you say thank god it isn’t 🤣. Reading all these posts has cheered me up no end 🤣. Love that swimming costume too!!!

Have just ordered this one. NSV as well, I always had to buy Bravissimo swimwear due to boobs, but they have shrunk so much I can now buy high street
https://www.next.co.uk/style/st450795/e51502

I have 3 of these swimsuits in various colours! They fit fantastically if you are long in the torso and big boobed.
my only issue with them is that they don't work for aquarobics - all the bouncing up and down in the water makes them prone to a bit of boob slippage! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I haven't been feeling it much this week, felt utterly awful on Monday, like I'd been hit by a truck again. I snacked all day (mostly fruit but did have 2 chocolates) and ate a huge meal in the evening.
Got my mojo back a little bit now, just been to another new exercise class which was great. Not expecting much this week though.
I did think though when I looked in the mirror this morning - I'm starting to look 'normal' if you know what I mean. Before , I looked odd because literally ALLL my weight was in my stomach so I looked like an egg on legs. It always made clothes fit weirdly and always just looked odd. Now I look like a normal shaped person!

BlueLimes · 30/04/2025 18:19

@0ncemorewithfee1ing @Thelittlestranger i am pleased with the loss but I’m just a bit ‘how flippin typical I can still eat on 12.5mg’!!

Let’s keep going - it doesn’t really matter how long it takes us, comparison is the thief of joy and all that.

BlueLimes · 30/04/2025 18:21

@MJalltheway i know what you mean about looking normal, I saw my reflection and felt I didn’t look really chubby.

And really, what’s the alternative?

I am very nervous about weighing tomorrow - it’s been a week and I remain (stupidly) hopeful that I’ll lose 2lbs which would mean I’d lost a stone (admittedly in 15 weeks). 2lbs is a month’s loss so far so I am probably hoping in vain.

BlueLimes · 30/04/2025 18:47

@HeavyHeidi shes obviously feeling very threatened. Sone people aren’t happy when people lose weight - is she slim?

I really hope you get your 2lbs @0ncemorewithfee1ing

DareDevil223 · 30/04/2025 19:10

Something unexpected happened today. I'm having to return a pair of size 10 trousers from Cos because they are huge on me, especially round the waist.

I don't think this means that I'm smaller than a 10 but it's not something I foresaw or could ever have imagined a couple of years ago. Madness.

HeavyHeidi · 30/04/2025 19:24

@BlueLimes she used to be very slim and tiny, but put has not managed to lose the baby weight since having her first a year ago. I guess yes I was the 'fat funny friend'.
