Yay, well done @Jins 👏 and @JoanCollinsDiva on the uphill walk! I really hope your daughter is ok, hopefully seeing you eating normally will really help, it’s so tricky being a teenager 😳.
@Pandora71 hope you e had an absolutely amazing time!
Thanks for the podcast link @DareDevil223, I listened to it this morning and wow! It makes so much sense, so much resonated with me, family history of obesity etc. it’s well worth a listen everyone! Interesting thoughts on micro dosing and long term need/ use too! It has made me realise I definitely definitely need to do some strength training, spent 15 mins with my hand weights earlier and need to build in a routine.

I’m trying to switch suppliers again to get a cheaper price but are there any suppliers that don’t request dated photos? I live alone and was able to get a visitor to take the photos the first time but it’s just impossible to do these on my own! I’m happy to do an online consultation but having to take dated full length photos each time is impossible for me.

Selfie in the mirror? I’ve done all my photos like that

MananaPenelope · 24/04/2025 17:10

Greetings losers 😍.

We have lift off (so to speak 🚀), I’m going to take movicol today and tomorrow and get back on the 🚌 with 2.5mg on Saturday.

Brilliant losses reported.

Very impressed at all the self care going on on this thread. I buy/use nice products daily, but run out of enthusiasm in the beauty dept very quickly.

@JoanCollinsDiva I go out driving 3 or 4 times a week 😬, plus DC has a proper driving lesson. I don’t enjoy it at all, not now they are capable of driving on A roads at 50mph. Didn’t mind pootling about when they were starting. I was exactly the same with DC1.

Feeling great! Completely normal. Still happy on the same calorie intake as on MJ. I think I’ve got used to two meals a day. Haven’t weighed because of constipation. Will weigh on Saturday and report in 🫡.

If you don’t have a full length mirror, can you set the timer on your camera phone? I’ve done that before…propped up my phone, set the timer for 10seconds.

Yes this, or the last one I did I propped my phone up and took and video then screen shot it when I was in the frame!

So enjoyed reading all the catch ups, it’s been a busy week (our youngest of five turned 18!) and work is crazy. Also loved all the extra beauty conversations, it really is my source of information for most things these days 😁

Meanwhile I have had such slow losses if any recently and after 2 weeks on 4.75mg with little side effects, increased to 5mg this week. Certainly losing now as I’ve been feeling terrible! Even with such a small increase. Complete suppression and terrible nausea, it’s grim. Maybe I’ll try 4.8mg in the attempt to find the ‘magic’ dose with some suppression and feeling relatively OK! While I’m delighted with the overall weight loss (now 10kg in 100 days but still a way to go to get under that overweight BMI!) I wouldn’t say this has been an easy option for me. I sure hope in the future that they are able to make a drug that’s a little less harsh with the symptoms…

Thelittlestranger · 24/04/2025 21:31

@Upperroom have started listening to that podcast and within 5 minutes my shoulders went down. 5 reasons as to why you are overweight, and only one of them in your control? Makes sense to me - although I have to admit to some guilt as to part of it being about the weight you re when you get pregnant/give birth...haven't finished it yet. Will listen to rest on dog walk tomorrow.

I'm taking Ancient and Brave collagen, but not the marine one. I take 3/4s of the recommendation in my morning coffee. I can't taste it, and it gives me 25grams of protein 👍

Tonight I have drunk too much fizz on a work night out and can't even finish a sandwich on the train home. Too full. Unheard of.

Also bought pepto bismol for the first time - definitely works, but the taste compared to gaviscon is not great...

I'm absolutely not weighing on Saturday 😂 I've eaten way too much. Due on in 2 days so bloated as hell. I'll wait til next week 🫠

I had my first real suffering this morning after eating chocolate and pizza last night. The pain was unreal 😭

MJalltheway · 25/04/2025 07:28

@workingbalance 5 kids, wow!! I have 3 and it's utter chaos so I'm in awe.
I've been taking collagen capsules, although I'm not very good at remembering to take them. I read some research (because all the powder ones say powder is much better) and it said there was no real difference in efficacy between powder and capsules so I'm taking the easy way! I've been pondering getting some clear whey protein and trying that -has anyone given that a go? It's so expensive though, don't want to spend £30/40 and find it tastes disgusting.

weigh in day for me today. Start of week 14...
SW 101kg
CW 88.3kg (0.7 loss this week)
GW 70kg

Im 40% of the way there! Shotsy graph looking nice and steady. 😁

MananaPenelope · 25/04/2025 07:35

That’s wonderful @MJalltheway , well done.

I've had a sneaky weigh in and I’ve gained 1kg on an average calorie intake of 900cals a day over the last week according to nutracheck. Could be constipation/movicol, but ….😫.

Starting weight 104.1kg, weight last week 93.2kg, weight today 94.4kg, flipping heck.

DGonMJ · 25/04/2025 08:34

Morning all - lots of very vivid dreams last night, plus a couple wake ups with a rush of adrenaline.
I’m down to 63.5kg today so it’s a whoosh week so far. Expecting to fluctuate/slow down next week as I’ll be due on.

@MananaPenelope sorry for that gain, absolutely ridiculous for that to happen on 900 calories. Could it be inflammation from being a bit unwell the week before?

MananaPenelope · 25/04/2025 08:48

Well done @DGonMJ , another fab loss!

I don’t know, I did wonder if MJ was balancing my insulin levels/boosting my metabolism and without it I am stuffed. 🦃 I have no idea, I haven’t delved into the research around MJ tbh. My brain is full after my day job, which includes lots of research 😂and surprisingly my menopausal self cba/has decided to trust the process.

It has been absolutely endless chaos! Enjoying this quieter period and also the time to put energy into my own well being! I need to find a collagen that tastes ok! In fact any supplement that doesn’t turn my overly sensitive stomach since being on WLI. I do love a graph (and that’s a great result so far!) that gives you an overview rather than the sometimes in my experience up and down fluctuations!

HeavyHeidi · 25/04/2025 09:13

@DGonMJ and 63.6 for me, we really are following each other.
What did you have ad GW and have you changed it from the original?

discov · 25/04/2025 09:20

A few friends of mine swear by the WillPowders collagen.

I have stayed the same this week. Which is fine - to be expected after my week of rubbish eating. I am a bit annoyed at myself for ‘wasting’ a week by not eating well though! I have learnt my lesson here as I have felt awful all week and I think it’s from eating too much crap.

I am off work today so going to write a proper meal plan for the next week and get some shopping done. I think I need to mix it up and a bit and add some different meals into my rotation as I’m getting bored of eating the same stuff. It’s just so easy to chuck together an omelette or salad though. I am a pescatarian so always feel a bit limited with not eating meat. Also I have to cook two meals as my dd is autistic and won’t eat what I eat, so by the time I’ve done something for her and DH (both meat eaters) I can never be arsed doing something interesting for me!

I will do my 4th 7.5mg jab tonight. Does anyone else feel like the weeks are passing by so quickly? It will be my 14th jab which means I have almost been doing it for 3 months! It only feels like yesterday that I did the first one.

Some stats for jab day:

SW: 12st 2
CW: 10st 3
GW: 9st 7 (but I am likely going to lower this to 9 or just below - I have another 7.5mg pen in the fridge and a second one coming in 3 weeks time which I’m hoping will see me through to this goal!)

Jins · 25/04/2025 09:34

Week 15 over and 1lb lost at the last minute. Total lost is 1st 7lbs which sounds respectable.

Jab due this morning and it’s the second bonus dose so we’ll see what’s left in the pen and top up if needed.

SW. 11st 3 BMI 28.2
CW 9st 12 BMI 24.4
GW 9st BMI 22.3
Body fat 30.1%. Sub-cut fat 27.4%. (0.7% to go to get into average)

NSV - started to make a short sleeveless jumpsuit thing as a beach coverup yesterday. Would normally go for L based on measurements but tried the S/M size and it fits perfectly. I’ll make adjustments as I always do but happy to be in a smaller pattern size

HeavyHeidi · 25/04/2025 09:39

@discov have you tried ChatGPT for meal planning? It's really good, you can give it all your meal preferences and restrictions as well.

JoanCollinsDiva · 25/04/2025 12:07

Hi all 👋
Weigh day today and I've STS for the first time 😠
I was expecting it as I've eaten a bit more "normally" this week having a bit of breakfast and lunch whilst I was in the Lakes. However I still haven't been eating much so I'm a bit surprised but I did lose 4lbs last weigh in so maybe it's just my body catching up. Il be gutted if I can't go back to eating a bit more normally at maintenance without gaining weight though. I do sometimes worry that I've fucked up my metabolism with all my yo-yo dieting and fasting over the years. My cutting tdee is currently 1400 which I am not anywhere near eating - more like between 700-1000 depending on how strong suppression is. Yesterday I had half a cheese sandwich on brown bread and a jacket potato with a small tin of beans and a sprinkling of cheese and an apple. That is a typical day for me!

Week 13
SW: 13.6
CW: 10.12
GW: 10.6

workingbalance
Another one with 5 dc's here 😂 eldest moved out a few years ago and second eldest set to move out soon so then I'll just have the 3 at home! Chaotic but fun is how I'd describe it when they were growing up, never a dull moment. I've loved having a big family and dread them all moving out.

No wonder my body is shot to pieces!

Bear2014 · 25/04/2025 13:13

Wow to those with 5 kids. I had 2 giant babies and 2 c-sections and my whole mid section is still a car crash 11 and 7 years later.

People have started to notice my weight loss now, I've lost 14kg. The kitchen roll effect is well and truly kicking in, I feel I look a bit slimmer each week now too. A couple of people have noticed and commented but no one knows I am on WLI. I don't think anyone would judge and I wouldn't be friends with anyone who defines it as cheating, I just can't be bothered to go into it.

I am feeling a bit emotional about the whole thing, I'm 44 and if this had been available years ago, possibly after I had my second child, my life would have been so much easier. I've struggled so much to lose weight in recent years and it can be exhausting. I would normally have given up by now on any other diet as it would have felt like such an uphill struggle. I'm just happy that younger people can possibly now benefit and reclaim their lives and health.

HeavyHeidi · 25/04/2025 13:31

I think we all share the sentiment, @Bear2014
Years, decades of dieting and figthing my weight and being miserable because I failed again. Better late than never, I guess. But yes I'm glad that DD has those options available for her, would she ever need them.

Polkadotdash · 25/04/2025 13:54

I’m telling people who ask me if I’ve lost weight that I’m on WLI. I’ve been pondering why people have such strong views against them. I wonder if it’s to do with the idea that being overweight indicates that you are ‘gluttonous’ and therefore sinful and it’s a moral reaction they have to you ‘cheating’ to lose the weight? Like you’re cheating out of your punishment (which should be deprivation and hard exercise). Those who are skinny and fit are praised for self denial, hard work, self control, when often it can be just genetics. Humans are weird in what they perceive to be valuable.

HeavyHeidi · 25/04/2025 14:21

In my experience, the people who have expressed the strongest opinions are all naturally slim and take a lot of pride in that. So at least in their cases, they seem to be very upset that they are no longer special and other people (those lazy fatties) can now be slim just like them.

I think this is exactly it. We are all lazy and taking the ‘easy way out’ and people think us fatties should suffer. Which is quite depressing really.

The thing is, that's absolutely not fat that you have gained in a week, it's a physical impossibility. I wish I could re-find the video I saw about this! It takes overeating by 3500 calories to gain 1lb of fat. But your weight is made up of so many other components than just the fat. Daily fluctuations are more down to water, hormones, undigested food etc etc. Keep the faith, that 'extra' 1kg will go again.

MananaPenelope · 25/04/2025 16:43

I remember gaining 2kg a few weeks back @MJalltheway, it disappeared about ten days later.

I went out for brunch earlier and chose a non bread option/didn't eat it all so I feel like I'm still on MJ but I wasn't. I am now 😄, just jabbed 2.5mg.

The Jigsaw dress I posted upthread has arrived today, I'm not sure about it. I also bought a Phase Eight dress in two sizes - 14 too small on the waist, 16 too big on the shoulders, and a second Jigsaw dress that I really love but it is a bit tight on the bottom half. I like it so much I might keep it and 'shrink' into it!
