@myladyjane I hope you’re feeling less sick, tomorrow is another day in terms of diet.

@Jins I bought the H&B pills, I didn’t read the active ingredients beforehand and am not sure I can take them. I’ll ask the pharmacist tomorrow. Liquorice root is something I don’t think I can take with some of my prescription meds. We will see.

Had a helpful email from Ouskh so I have a plan.

Jins · 21/04/2025 20:38

@MananaPenelope fingers crossed for you. I’m glad Oushk came through with some help. The call I had today was reassuring. They seem to know their stuff

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 20:49

I'm worried the 90s diet culture is back again, see 'skinnytok' on TikTok. Infulencers telling people to go to bed hungry and nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.
I really hope DD doesn't fall into the diet trap. She's a very sporty, slim but strong, but you never know when she stumbles upon some influencer who tells everybody how she dieted down to 44 kilos from gross 50 kilo fatness..

BlueLimes · 21/04/2025 21:00

Such a worry @HeavyHeidi one of the girls st school hold DD and friends they were pigs for having chips (only served once a week). I was quite clear on my views of ‘friend’ and aiming for healthy and strong.

MananaPenelope · 22/04/2025 06:55

Morning, completely back to normal here one week on. Just need to deal with being constipated. Psyllium husk is doing nothing at all now. I’ll see what the pharmacist says. Has to be MJ doesn’t it.

Jins · 22/04/2025 07:50

@MananaPenelope I’m going to PM you.

edit - Can’t PM sorry. I’ve got a long history of chronic, slow transit constipation. Try Movicol and stop the psyllium husks for now.

Thelittlestranger · 22/04/2025 08:22

Psyllium husks gave me incredibly painful wind. And didn't seem to help the movement. I read that if you don't drink enough water with them, they can do that.

@MananaPenelope glad you’re feeling better, it certainly sounds as though it could
be MJ, did Oushkk comment on that at all? Hope the pharmacist can help.

@BlueLimes on another thread, Trinny Elevate was recommended for crepey necks, or bio oil. I’ve not used elevate so can’t comment but worth a look?

happy working week all, not feeling the love at all here!

MananaPenelope · 22/04/2025 08:31

@Jins I’ll see if I can see why later, no idea. Yes I was thinking movicol, one of my DC had to take it for years as a little one.

I’ll still ask the question re the the liquorice root, it can imitate oestrogen (from memory) so has to be avoided in certain cancers (mine, although I no longer have cancer) and not recommend if you have high blood pressure (which I do!). Shame as I love liquorice!

MananaPenelope · 22/04/2025 08:34

Oushk agreed with a week off, reducing back to 2.5mg and said I could double my omeprazole dose on the dreadful acid reflux days.

I’ve been fine on psyllium husk, no pain or wind …… not much else either 🤣. Funny how things stop working, both that and mag citrate were excellent for me the first month. Now mag citrate gives me stinging wee.

DGonMJ · 22/04/2025 08:43

@2025istheyeari Happy Normal Tuesday indeed. Just glad it’s a 4 day week!

Back to 6am wake-ups and alternating cardio with strength. Today was a dumbbells day. Easing myself back into it this week by only doing 20min sessions. Helps that the sun is already up.

NSV - I’m in my Gap ‘cigarette-cut’ trousers that I bought 6 years ago when I lost weight. They’re a small 14. I’m officially back to a size from my 30s!

HeavyHeidi · 22/04/2025 10:12

I'm the size I was when I first met DH, I was 29.
Was unpacking my summer clothes over the weekend, there was a box of nice but too small ones I had kept for years, just in case. Well, it is "the case" now. I can wear pretty much all of them again.

BlueLimes · 22/04/2025 10:15

@2025istheyeari thank you I’ll get the bio oil, I’ve an aversion to Trinny.

Jins · 22/04/2025 10:17

Oooh. Congratulations @HeavyHeidi

Well my morning weigh in is over and the scales haven’t wavered from 9st 13 for 6 days. Never a flicker or hint of anything else, just 9st 13.

If I can do that in maintenance I’ll be very happy but I’d still like to get a normal sub-cut fat reading before weightloss ends.

Taking my bonus dose which should be 6.25mg on Friday plus whatever I need from my new pen to bring it up to 7.5mg. Just over three weeks till my holiday and i need more than 1lb in leeway to ‘never go above 10st again’

2025istheyeari · 22/04/2025 10:23

Whoop, well done on the NSV @DGonMJ 👏, you must feel brilliant!!

I had a bit of one on Saturday, I went for a bra fitting and I’ve dropped from a 38ff to 36f, so still huge but not quite so much 🤣.

I got weighed this morning and have lost a pound, so at the start of week 16 this is where I am:

sw 16 stone 3 1/2 ( 103kg)
cw 13 stone 2 ( 83.4kg)
goal 11 stone 10 ( but would love to get to 10 13, will see!!)

I’m sticking with 7.5 for another 4 weeks and will decide what to do then. The symptoms I had the other week have gone thankfully!

Sorry @HeavyHeidi i was typing and didn’t see this, amazing! You must feel brilliant, well done 💃🏻.
Good luck @jins, you said this is a set point didn’t you, hoping you manage to lose before your hols!

2025istheyeari · 22/04/2025 10:26

@2025istheyeari thank you I’ll get the bio oil, I’ve an aversion to Trinny.

@BlueLimes not sure whether they meant the actual bio oil or the body lotion stuff, but apparently it’s great!

BlueLimes · 22/04/2025 10:34

@DGonMJ @HeavyHeidi fab, must feel so good- must dig out my vintage clothes. I think I have those sane trousers also in a 14!!

@jins 9.23 is fab but hope you get to where you want to be pre holiday.

@2025istheyeari over 3 stone is amazing 😊

HeavyHeidi · 22/04/2025 10:48

@Jins sounds like your body has decided that's your new set point? But I get that we might want a bit of a buffer.

Polkadotdash · 22/04/2025 10:55

@BlueLimes laughing at you having an aversion to Trinny 😂. I’ve had the Elevate stuff in my list to try as well but it is pricey. Waiting for a deal to come up on it. I’m not sure bio oil would do much more than moisturiser. I’ve used it for years on post partum stretch marks. Not sure it’s really done much but it’s kept my skin soft.

Polkadotdash · 22/04/2025 10:59

I accidentally saw a bit of that programme with Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris last night (the one the BBC has had to invent to avoid having to pay them loads for breaking their Top Gear contract). Anyway they went to a spa in Switzerland and had to get weighed. Depressingly 6ft tall Paddy only weighs a couple of kilos more than me. I’m not sure how that is even possible. Is there lower gravity in the Alps????

Gintime74 · 22/04/2025 11:00

I had a course of caci and now having monthly top up for crepy neck and facial slackness. I cant afford to keep this up. Has anyone used home facial tools that work?

HeavyHeidi · 22/04/2025 11:38

@Polkadotdash one of my trigger moments to lose the weight was when I realised I weigh almost as much as my DH. (Who has since lost a couple of kilos and now actually weighs as much as I did in January).

Nothing wrong with being as heavy as your spouse. but he's 6'4''

Jins · 22/04/2025 11:46

If my body has decided to stick at 9st 13 it could be a lot worse. It’s BMI 24.6 which is ok, sub cut fat still high at 27.6 but all other metrics are ok and my metabolic age is only a year - well 6 months - above my actual age.

I’m aiming for 9 but would be happy with 9.7. Overweight starts at 10st 1.2 so I would like a bit more leeway.

BlueLimes · 22/04/2025 12:25

Inspired to try on clothes by you all.
Back in my 20 year old diesel jeans, Shane I don’t like them anymore.
