@jin we’re our harshest critics and often people don’t see what we do.

myladyjane · 21/04/2025 10:45

@DareDevil223 super well done. You should be so proud of yourself for all your hard work. Are you going to reward with a treat? I am a great one for treats (that bloody dopamine) so I very much think you should and show us all!

also v impressed at our close to goal-ers. Keep going chaps am v keen on seeing you over the line.

@MJalltheway loving the champagne for you. Excellent choice. I still havent had an alcoholic drink as I just can’t be arsed to. I am due to go to a posh champagne reception next month but not sure it will be the time and place to experiment.

@MananaPenelope so pleased you are feeling a bit better and decided on next steps.

@Jins as women we are conditioned to be valued by our looks though. And no matter how comfortable we are in our own skin we were raised to believe that thinner was better and that’s a hard thing to shake. Like you I am doing this for health not looks but I would be lying if I don’t take pleasure in the fact my waist is much more prominent so I look curvier. Or that my face is less bloated. So don’t feel bad that you are currently focus on a perceived flaw. Normal mate. But also acknowledge and park it - like you say swimming season will tone up those arms like no one’s business.

i did my reorder weigh in. Firstly I didn’t realise but I have lost 10lb in 5 weeks and it really shows on my photos. Secondly I am a pound down this week after expecting the same. Thirdly I have reached my first goal! My bmi is now 35 ie tier one obese. My next goal is only 2lb away (2 stone loss) so may save up my treat for then.

have a good bank holiday all!

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 10:45

exercise does help a bit. I initially had quite a lot of saggy bingo wing going on, but have been upping my weights, and arms look decent.

MJalltheway · 21/04/2025 10:46

Morning all, dreary miserable day here.
@DareDevil223 almost 10 stone loss, that's incredible! You are literally half the person you used to be! 🥇
@MananaPenelope hope you feel better soon and the colon cleanse helps out. Think I might get some too, I've really struggled this week having not had any issues with it so far.
@Jins I'm also post-menopausal, I hear you on the crepey skin! I don't do any kind of skincare (other than spf and pathologically avoiding the sun) but I've just ordered a facial oil to try out.
@Zempy and @BlueLimes you've inspired me to get back on Vinted and list some more stuff...
I had a more relaxed day yesterday and enjoyed a hot cross bun, half a little tub of ice cream and a half of cider.
I've joined our local gym and have signed myself up for classes every day this week which might be a bit much!! And have just done a quick 20 mins on my rowing machine this morning. Really enjoying the exercise now I'm getting into it.

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 10:47

As for treats, I reward myself with shopping instead of food. Either new clothes or some skin care, I love cosmetics.

But I really need to start selling more on Vinted, reading all your experiences here!

myladyjane · 21/04/2025 11:01

@HeavyHeidi lipstick and nail varnish here. DH: do t you have enough lipstick? Me: no you fool

MananaPenelope · 21/04/2025 11:04

Thanks everyone and @Jins. Fingers crossed that’s all it is. I do get very constipated at ovulation time (still going intermittently in my mid 50s 😫), add in MJ at a higher dose and adenomyosis and I can be in a lot of pain. I’ve got naproxen on prescription but haven’t dared to take it since I’ve been on MJ.

I also reward myself @HeavyHeidi ! In fact I’ve ditched the ‘not buying anything until I’ve finished’ principle. I decided that I want to look good on the way down and if I haven’t got anything I want to wear for something then I will buy it, always something reduced or with a discount code. I bought This yesterday for a party I’m going to in a couple of weeks after I found a navy jacket that will go with it in my wardrobe that now fits perfectly. Fingers crossed it looks nice. I’ll either love it or hate it, but thought it would suit my shape and the colouring looks like it will emphasise my waist which is a good bit!

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 11:13

@myladyjane if you love lipsticks, have you tried the Wonderblading tints? I have half their collection.

@MananaPenelope great dress! And it looks like it will accommodate several sizes.

Just saw someone posting on social media that have you also been wondering why you have not gone down a clothes size, when you've lost a lot of weight? And in her case, because she bought clothes 2-3 sizes too small and just looked like she was shrink-wrapped. And now they actually fit.

Same girl, same

DareDevil223 · 21/04/2025 11:18

Thanks you lovely lot, this is such a supportive and positive thread.

I have treated myself to so many new clothes but a lot of them are Vinted bargains. I didn't anticipate becoming a size 10 and my 12s being too big!

I have bought myself some nice jewellery, I never wore it when I was big, I (wrongly) felt that I didn't deserve nice things which makes me sad now.

Although I still enjoy my food, I don't see it as a treat any more, it used to be all I had really and now my life has so much more in it and everything is so much easier.

MJalltheway · 21/04/2025 11:21

I have two things in mind for treats, a new swimming cossie (actually an essential!) for aquarobics because mine are getting too baggy now. And one of those mini Le Crueset pots that you can roast garlic in. Totally indulgent and probably a complete waste of time, but they look very cute!

Polkadotdash · 21/04/2025 11:21

Weigh in day for me. Stayed the same this week. Disappointing but at least no gain after my pizza/wine binge during the week.
Got to have a big push this week as the family get together is on Saturday. And I’ve got to wait until Wednesday for my next pen to arrive. And I have a massive Maltesers Easter egg in the cupboard. Send positive thoughts to meeee!

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 11:46

You do not want the Easter egg. You're just bored. Eat an apple.

Does that help? 😂

MananaPenelope · 21/04/2025 11:50

@HeavyHeidi I do like a bias cut dress. @MJalltheway I’ve got a lovely SeaFolly swimsuit I haven’t been able to wear, I’m looking forward to it fitting again.

2025istheyeari · 21/04/2025 12:21

Wow you’ve all been busy this morning!!
amazing weight loss @DareDevil223 , what an inspiration you are!!!! Enjoy and def treat yourself to something amazing!!

Can’t believe so many of you are close to goal, that’s fantastic, can’t wait to virtually celebrate with you over the next few weeks!

@MananaPenelope love that dress, and glad you’re feeling a little better, hope this week helps.

I’ve had one glass of wine since starting MJ, I just don’t fancy it at all and super happy that it’s broken the habit of oh, it’s Friday ( Wednesday🫣) , glass (bottle) of wine. I don’t like the smell anymore and I’m planning to have a glass of champagne occasionally when I fancy it but that’s it!! I definitely think it’s made a difference to my skin too.

Vinted is fab isn’t it although I’ve got a few things that haven’t sold, maybe I’ve put them up for too much 🤔.

we travelled back from Skipton yesterday afternoon after a fab weekend with my family, lots of walks and eating but I was restrained! Weighed this morning and stayed the same which I’m miffed about but I think mine may be constipation too, let’s see how tomorrows official weigh in goes! Grim here today so been out for a walk with a friend, made some
wild garlic pesto, and squash dhal and doing some baking later.

MJalltheway · 21/04/2025 15:14

Wild garlic pesto is one of those things I've always wanted to make! We used to live near a TON of wild garlic but since we moved I can't find it anywhere.

I popped out to our local outlet village and am now the proud owner of a Le Crueset mini casserole dish ❤️ off to roast some garlic in it 😂

Since starting on MJ, garlic is one of the things that I struggle with, I’m
ok if it’s mild but making the pesto today made me feel a bit queasy, I won’t be having any!! We’ve got a little bit round here but my son collected a whole load from near my mums in Skipton!
Ooh, Le Creuset sounds fab, good for you!

Gintime74 · 21/04/2025 16:09

I have lost 2 pounds this week, so total of 28 pounds. It was my first week on 7.5 and felt quite nauseaus all week and had some stomach pain which made we worry about pancreatitis. Im thinking of going back to 5mg or maybe 6?

Thelittlestranger · 21/04/2025 16:16

@DGonMJ I hear you. I attempted 100 days sober at the start of last year. Loved it, and stayed sober until mid way through July . I wasn't going to drink again, but I really missed the first one or two and being able to let loose a little, so decided to take a different approach. It's stood me in good stead until now - where I know that taking a month or so will put me in a better place again. Let's see...

@BlueLimes I have just undertaken a 6 session LED light thing at my local salon, and I'm having a facial a month. I 'feel' like it's helped the crepey neck - it's still there, but doesn't feel as saggy. If it's just a placebo, I'm ok with that !!

Jins · 21/04/2025 16:31

Just had my Oushk weight verification call and now I’ve got to delete the weight from my Renpho history as I don’t want to see 10st again 🤣. Not bad for a fully clothed weight though.

I’ve tried on last years swimwear again and the two pieces are ok but I got my training suit on far too quickly. It’ll go on hols with me but it’ll probably be the last time. Clothes will all be ok but I need to sort a midi dress out somehow. It was always loose and flowy but now looks ridiculous

Zempy · 21/04/2025 16:44

@Gintime74 I really struggled with 7.5. I went back and jabbed 5.85 then 6.5. I will probably do something between 6.5 and 7 this week. The step up was too much for me in one go.

Like you, I felt nauseated and was absolutely shattered the entire time. Much better since decreasing the dose and increasing gradually.

Thank you thats reassuring, i will try the same.

Jins · 21/04/2025 17:43

i should have gone up to 7.5mg for my last dose really. I’ve done 6 at 6.25 including the bonus dose from my 5mg pen and there’s one more dose left in my 7.5mg pen. It should be another 6.25 dose if my maths is right but I think I’ll be topping it up from my new pen.

I’ll see where I’m at after my holiday. If necessary I’ll go up a dose but I’d like to stay on 7.5mg really

BlueLimes · 21/04/2025 18:44

@Thelittlestranger thank you, I’ll read up on it. I wonder if the masks you can use at home are as good, I just started a new serum so will see how that goes 🤞

myladyjane · 21/04/2025 19:04

Oh today has been bad. After my positive goal reaching weigh in this morning we took dd to get some bits for school and as her sister had a treat last week, let her choose lunch and she chose pizza express. Not too awful, I ate half my favourite pizza and took the other half home. Did some batch cooking but picked at it whilst I did it (not masses and healthy stuff but nevertheless). Lasted until 6 and was chewing my hand off with hunger so finished the pizza, had 2 babybels and a Lindor egg. Gone the most over my calories since I started and now feel sick :(

I know it won’t have done any real damage - even on this it’s only 1500 calories today. It’s more the mindset shift - until this week I wouldn’t have wanted this let alone been able to eat it. The nutrition is so poor and that has become a real problem for me. I am making crappy choices again.

its golden dose week this week but also pmt week. I think I just need to grit my teeth and use will power tomorrow/wednesday/Thursday and hope there is a bit more left when doing the bonus dose to give me boost.

Polkadotdash · 21/04/2025 19:51

@HeavyHeidi i snorted laughing at that! Proper 90s diet rhetoric there!
