@cloudjumper wow that is a lot of fibroid you’ve yeeted! Making me want to get mine sorted as soon as possible. How are you feeling today?

Polkadotdash · 20/04/2025 17:27

Also - 5th dose fluff up. I tried to get the extra dose just now and when I turned the clicker to get it to go, the internal plunger just fell apart so I couldn’t push it through. What did I do wrong?
I’ve now got to wait until Wednesday for a new pen to come. Will have to use as much willpower as possible to get me through next couple of days. Has anyone else had a 9 day gap between doses?

HeavyHeidi · 20/04/2025 17:46

can you get an insulin syringe? My pen jammed as well when I tried to get the golden dose out.

myladyjane · 20/04/2025 19:15

@MananaPenelope I have only taken pepto twice when my tummy was really upset. I have omaprazole on prescription but I haven’t taken it since on mj. I do have Gaviscon double which helps me with the sulphur burps the best.

Jins · 20/04/2025 19:58

@MananaPenelope i’ve taken 4 doses in 3 months - 3 in the last week and I’m going to avoid it as much as possible as it seems to bung me up too much.

MananaPenelope · 20/04/2025 20:22

Thank you both 🙏. I didn’t know if people were chugging it all the time. I’ve probably had two doses on five or six days, but it hasn’t changed a thing. I’m sure I’ve said before that I haven’t burped at all (the things we talk about 🤣).

I’d struggle without daily omeprazole @myladyjane , it’s one of my post chemo cocktail meds. I get savage acid reflux without it which triggers my nighttime asthma.

I emailed Ouskh this morning to pause my order that was due for delivery next week and they responded earlier, so I’ve asked them a couple of questions about how to take PB. I do think I’ll go to 2.5mg week after next (if I carry on) as I didn’t have any side effects bar constipation. They agreed with lowering the dose. Not sure why I increased it really, I was happy with my weekly loss.

DGonMJ · 20/04/2025 20:30

@Polkadotdash I’ve not had a 9 day gap but I think a few on this thread have. I think MJ stays in your system for at least a couple of weeks.

@MananaPenelope haven’t had any acid reflux or heartburn so far, haven’t taken anything like PB or omeprazole.

I’ve had quite the productive day. Took back all the stuff we’d put in DM’s grannex during the house repairs, set up temporary wardrobe storage in DS2’s newly decorated bedroom, chucked a load of old toys out, re-hung mirrors and artwork. Worked up an appetite and DH did the roast. I ate a VERY big plate of lamb and veg. Have been aware for a while that jab day is not a high suppression day. Nice to be able to enjoy a big meal for a change!

DareDevil223 · 21/04/2025 07:40

Morning all, hope you're having a good Easter break.

I went up to 10mg on Thursday and the suppression is unreal, feels like the very early Ozempic days but without the nausea and sulphur burps! I think I'll just do a couple of months on it as it's going to be too much for a maintenance dose.

I've got a maintenance meeting booked in with Ouskh in June and I should be nearly at my goal by then.

As of this morning, I am 10st 13.8. It's been many years since the scales started with a 10 even if only by a tiny amount! 11 stone was my original goal but I moved it to 10 stone 7lbs so just under 7lbs to go.

I couldn't even have imagined this when I started at 20st 2lbs.

MananaPenelope · 21/04/2025 07:44

Well done @DareDevil223 , very impressive 🏆🏆🏆. How long has it taken you to lose your weight?

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 07:50

That is amazing, @DareDevil223

I managed to eat a very reasonable portion of my friend's amazing food. But when I looked at other people, they ate similar portions. I didn't really feel like I was over-eating, or eating more than other people before mj, but maybe I was?

Long weekends are not good from diet perspective - I can happily not eat the entire day when at work and just have dinner. But when I'm home, I definitely end up eating more, as there's food around.

Thank you. It's taken a couple of years. I probably could have done it faster but it's given me time to really change my lifestyle and habits as well.

Zempy · 21/04/2025 08:06

@DareDevil223 that is bloody amazing! You must feel fantastic. What an achievement 🏅

I am back to losing slowly but surely after my long plateau broke. Down to 10:12 today. I’m hoping to get to a healthy BMI by the end of May, which should be about 10:6. And if it takes longer, it takes longer.

OMG lads. Vinted! I was a Vinted Virgin, but having sorted out six big bin bags of clothes and shoes this weekend, I got DD to help me get set up selling a few things. It’s absolutely addictive! I had planned to give it all away but was persuaded to try this instead.

I am time rich so it’s ideal for me. It’s like an obsessive new hobby.

Have a lovely Easter Monday.

Thelittlestranger · 21/04/2025 08:14

Small weight gain this week of 3/4lbs. Mostly water weight I'm assuming but my body is making it difficult to get to the next stone down. I've got 6lbs to lose and I'm keen to get there and work out the long term goal.

So - upping my jab to 6.5 today from 5.6 in the hope it gives me the needed boost to hit goal by end May. And going to take some time off drinking too in May. I'm not a big drinker anymore, but it's crept in a little the last few months or so. Always good to do, and will refocus.

@DareDevil223 bravo!

@HeavyHeidi I hear you. I'm off until Thursday.

I had a glass of champagne with lunch yesterday and I did not enjoy it at all. MJ really doesn't agree with alcohol at least in my case.

I'm just 2 kilos to my original GW - never thought I'd get there, to be honest. But I want to lose a bit more, now that it seems actually possible.
Weight has oddly gone off from various body parts in stages - first waist, then hips shrank but thighs not so much, so hoping the fat will go from there now. I have good muscles there I'd love to be a bit more visible.

Thelittlestranger · 21/04/2025 08:47

I've switched to drinking champagne since starting MJ 🤣

MananaPenelope · 21/04/2025 09:10

@DareDevil223 , what a journey! Shows what happens if you stick with it. Most of us are only 3 or four months into it so it’s really great to see what you have achieved.

@Zempy, well done, I am a Vinted virgin so I’ll be interested in hearing how you get on.

Feeling a bit better today one week on from injecting, stomach ache has lessened overnight, still there but better. I’m still having a week off MJ. Oushk have changed the pen I’d ordered to 2.5mg. I read a lot about left hand stomach pain last night, as well as catastrophic things, I can also be the food you’ve recently eaten, backed up constipation and endometriosis. I’m trying to hang my hat on the last three rather than anything catastrophic.

DareDevil223 · 21/04/2025 09:20

@MananaPenelope Thank you, I joined this thread because it was when I switched to MJ, I know it must seem a bit odd when I've ben doing WLI for so long!

However, unlike some of the anti people on here would like to think, I haven't become ill, developed pancreatitis, aged 10 years, got loads of loose skin or indeed had any adverse health effects at all - just benefits.

I think of myself as a living, breathing "up yours" to the naysayers. Grin

DGonMJ · 21/04/2025 09:28

Morning all, bit of a miserable damp day today. So will carry on with sorting out the house.

@HeavyHeidi my MJ twin! Also roughly 2kg from goal. I don’t think I’ll revise it down any further though - even though the belly is still quite jiggly, my face is probably the thinnest I can get away with. My body shape is ‘flat Stanley’ thin from the side and wide from the front/back. I have hips, but no bum!

@Zempy enjoy your Vinted honeymoon! I absolutely loved it back in Jan/Feb when I started sorting out my wardrobe and drawers - I would do a drawer per weekend so I wouldn’t feel overwhelmed. I could probably do a few more bits but I’ve only recently stopped wearing them with the weightloss and feels a bit soon to sell.

@MananaPenelope glad you’re feeling a bit better. I’d normally say step away from Dr Google, but I think you’re wise to remain vigilant and in tune with how your body is feeling.

@Thelittlestranger hopefully it’s easier to lay off the booze with the longer, sunnier days. When I stopped drinking last summer I read a whole load of articles on ‘benefits of 30/60/90 days without alcohol’ I was going to do it for 2 months, then 3, then decided to just stay off it. I have had a drink on v special occasions - anniversary, Christmas, NYE, my friend’s 50th. But it’s more to mark the occasion than it is because I really need a drink, deserve it, want to let off steam (which were all my previous reasons)

Hopped on the Renpho scales today and I’m 0.6% away from an ‘acceptable’ body fat ratio. It’s taken nearly fourth months to lose 4% body fat (from 36.8 to 32.5), hoping I’ll be acceptable by mid-May.
I need to gain 0.7% skeletal muscle mass to get into the green zone. Definitely finding weights harder, so I must get back into the routine this week.

Coffee first. Then peloton!

HeavyHeidi · 21/04/2025 09:37

@DGonMJ I have one of those faces that actually looks good a bit gaunt. I did get HarmonyCA filler recently though as well, really like the result.

Jins · 21/04/2025 09:49

@MananaPenelope if it’s anything like my recent week I’d put my money on backed up constipation. I’m feeling much better today but yesterday has been truly shocking in terms of how much has been backed up. Thank goodness for H&B colon cleanse is all I can say.

@DareDevil223 it’s always great to hear what you’ve achieved. Absolutely delighted for you!

@Zempy Vinted is strangely addictive. I sold loads of my ‘thin’ clothes a few years ago when Y2K was a thing. I’d kept them as a reminder of good times rather than with the hope of getting back into them as I would be the very definition of mutton dressed as lamb if I did. Made a couple of hundred out of junk, bought shoes and handbags. No discipline whatsoever.

I’m plateauing a bit at 9st 13. It’s given me time to assess how I’m looking and feeling and I really don’t like what’s happened to my arms. Wrinkly bingo wings and loose skin on my forearms FFS. Only in certain positions but they are arms - I use them a lot. Stomach and legs which are hidden most of the time are fine. I don’t think there’s much that I can do about it, I have post menopausal skin and I’m sure there’ll be sun damage playing its part.

Considering I set out on the MJ journey for my health rather than my looks I’m a bit disappointed in myself as I am now at a normal BMI, average body fat and generally much better. My sleep monitor tells me my sleep apnoea is medium rather than severe. Why am I remotely bothered about wrinkly arms?

BlueLimes · 21/04/2025 09:57

@DareDevil223 wow how fantastic- you must feel amazing.
@Zempy i had a huge clear out last year and made over a £1000 on vinted. Plan to do same again once at goal.
@Thelittlestranger and @HeavyHeidi @DGonMJ not much to go 😊

Glad you are feeling a bit better @MananaPenelope

Agree long weekends are difficult, I had roast dinner, cheesecake and mini eggs yesterday despite jabbing 10mg Saturday night. Definitely had less than I would normally though. It’s freezing here today, I’m feeling tired after hosting yesterday but will go for a long walk.

I’ve at least 15lbs to go, really want to get below a stone asap …

BlueLimes · 21/04/2025 10:03

@Jins 9.13 is fantastic. Are you doing arm weights? A good vigorous body scrub and a rich cream might help a bit?

Any thoughts on what to do for necks looking a bit crepey 😔

MananaPenelope · 21/04/2025 10:06

Thanks all, @Jins I’ll have a look for that H&B stuff later on, I’m popping into York to collect something I’ve ordered that will be returned if I don’t get my skates on.

Jins · 21/04/2025 10:10

@BlueLimes yes, arms are the primary focus on the exercise front as I live in sleeveless tops all year round. I’m hoping that they’ll improve on holiday next month as I’ll be swimming a lot and there’ll be much more regular application of moisturiser.

I’m not very good at being positive about my looks and I probably have dysmorphia to some degree but I look in the mirror and see Madge from Benidorm

Jins · 21/04/2025 10:13

@MananaPenelope this is the one. Much gentler than senna. May take a few days. At my worst I took it every day for months on end
