New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

Hi all, 1st week and I’ve lost 9lbs which is crazy. Second jab today, and whilst I didn’t have any side effects last week is there a chance I will this week? We are away next week with the in laws and I really need to be passing as a sensible human and not be riddled with side effects… hoping someone can settle my nerves!

I'm on week 3 and no side effects so far! Feeling very full though. Oh actually I've had heartburn but no major side effects

That’s reassuring, thank you! My husband knows I’m on it, and is being supportive, but it’s difficult as he is actually more overweight than I am but wants to ‘lose it properly’ (I have no idea what this means) so whilst he is supportive and lovely, I am trying to keep any concerns and moaning to myself!!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/04/2025 19:41

I did my marathon..5hrs 28..53256 steps. I'm broken. Can't face my jab tonight so will do it tomorrow.

Justformounjaro · 06/04/2025 20:15

I have a NSV! I wear jogging bottoms that have a tie waist. I’d previously tied elastic to the ends as they used to disappear into the holes in the waistband when I stretched them over my hips and I had noticed that it was easier to tie them with the cord rather than having the bow using some of the elastic.

I’ve now noticed that when I tie them they stay in position on my waist rather than slipping down because the difference in measurements between my waist and hips wasn’t very large. I am regaining a proper waist! 🥳

W4 D4. I've had very little suppression the last two weeks and can't wait to go up to 5mg on Wednesday (I did contemplate a little top up dose from the bonus dose in my pen over the weekend but decided that would bugger up next week so didn't).

But I've got a NSV. I moved a set of eyes on two different bras today (sports & normal). This is huge.

Over Christmas my normal bra was so uncomfortable on the band I bought some new ones.

MountainQueen · 06/04/2025 21:07

Well done!!!
I did my one and only marathon few years ago, very similar time to yours. Couldn't get out of bed next morning!

I had no side effects on first or second jab if that gives you some hope and comfort. My partner is about 4 months in and only had 1 week of side effects about 7 weeks in

The reduction in snoring is amazing. I've slept through the night for the first time in years. I can also breathe through my nose for the first time I. Forever.

Love this, it is these quietly exciting things that make me happy.

Hurrah!! Sleeping well = so much for physical and emotional health. Does anyone know why it works on snoring, reduced inflammation - clearing airways I’m assuming?? I’m off for a long deep sleep 😴🥳👋

Yes - later on it'd weight loss but the immediate effects are reducing inflammation which in turn affects mucus production. Also Mounjaro mildly diuretic so less fluid retention.

Flamethrowers · 07/04/2025 06:45

Here's another wierd thing - now I snore less and sleep better (I don't wake myself up anymore gasping for breath or sawing a log on half) the cat has relocated to my bedroom. I'm not sure if it's because of the quiet or if I smell differently now that I am taking Mounjaro. But I'm going to investigate!

Christmashope19 · 07/04/2025 07:05

2nd weigh in today
I’m on week 3 day 1
I lost 2.6lbs this week which makes my total 6.8lbs since I started
Happy with this although I don’t think that I am eating enough in a day
will try to eat more this week
happy Monday everyone x

28Spring · 07/04/2025 07:35

Thank you @Bipaloss the half dose I took last Wednesday was my 4th jab, so I’ve decided to take a full dose tomorrow morning (this will be the last half dose of my first pen and half dose of the golden dose with a hard twist-if that makes any sense at all!!) it’s my birthday today and we’re going to the seaside for fish and chips and birthday cake so going to take full dose tomorrow morning and get back on track!!

@cmh18 i found taking the Free Soul Hydrate electrolytes good for easing nausea and giving me my energy back; they make your water taste like salty lemon but it’s worth it and you get used to it xx

Hope everyone has a good start to the week, that NSV’s are many and SE’s are few!! Xxxxx

Flamethrowers · 07/04/2025 07:37

What does NSV and SE stand for please

taylorswift1989 · 07/04/2025 07:38

W3 here and still not feeling much suppression. Food noise is a bit better than last week, I think. Looking forward to moving up to 5mg soon!

But one thing I noticed this week is how there's now a little bit of space in my thoughts which allows me to make better decisions. Like I was thinking about something sad, and I noticed I was suddenly craving chocolate. My thoughts have never been slow or calm enough to catch myself in those moments before ans it was a revelation! Also I watched tv the other night and wasn't constantly reaching for my phone.

I think MJ at the moment is helping my adhd more than anything else! I am still losing weight, half a stone so far, and I can feel my clothes fit better, face looks slimmer, so even without the great suppression I had in week 1, it's doing good things for me!

Congrats to all on your wins, marathons etc!

Flamethrowers · 07/04/2025 07:37

NSV is non-scale victories so things like fitting into a pair of jeans you couldn't previously

SE is side effects

Flamethrowers · 07/04/2025 07:37

NSV - Non-scale victory
Eg. Better fitting clothes, easier to shave legs, towels that wrap round, tummies that are below water in the bath etc!

SE - side effects

tryingtobesogood · 07/04/2025 08:00

week 6:D1

i had my second 5mg jab last night, no side effects, in fact a good nights sleep. I had a cheeky weigh in this morning and the scales are still heading down. I’m feeling very happy with that.
I have my breakfasts and lunches planned for the week, and some dinners. I need to up my exercise, going to hop on my exercise bike today.

GameOfJones · 07/04/2025 08:25

Week 5 and I'm feeling no different in terms of suppression and side effects (not much of either) so I think I will step up to 5mg. Possibly not this week though as I'm on holiday so do want to avoid side effects if I possibly can so I'll do 3.75mg. I'm also moving my jab to Friday rather than Saturday as I eventually want to jab on a Wednesday or Thursday so I'm moving the day slowly.

Despite not feeling much suppression over the weekend I've had a quick peek at the scales and I'm the exact same weight as I was on Thursday. I'm quite pleased with that considering I had a sociable weekend that included wine and cheese yesterday. Still a few days to try and get the scales to move down again. I'm so close to seeing the 12s and the last time I was in the 12 stone bracket was before the pandemic!
