New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

@SpottyUnicorn personally if your side effects are that severe I would go down a dose and do 3.75mg on your next jab and see how that goes. This is the conundrum I've got.... I'm in my second week of 3.75mg and think I have the right balance of suppression but no bad side effects. The plan was always to increase to 5mg but now I'm not sure!

I think I will do that. Will you use the left over medicine for another injection once you have done 4x?

Van34 · 19/04/2025 10:37

W7 and I have lost 15lb! I can't believe it. I've been fighting to lose weight for years. In 2023 I even had to have my wedding dress taken out 😭 even though I was eating next to nothing in the run up. Just goes to show that for me this is definitely hormonal rather than what I'm eating!

Going to treat myself to some Birkenstocks for the summer for the 1stone weight loss. I'm not materialistic, I don't generally ever want for anything and make some of my own clothes so not sure what I'll treat myself to for the next 3+ stone I need to lose.

Hi all. Good to see so many of us losing weight each week! I’m flabbergasted at the difference. A few things I’ve noticed:

  1. I can have “naughty” food in the house now and know that I won’t scoff it all in one go, just bits when I choose. Trying to reprogramme my thinking to this so that once I get to maintenance weight, I don’t get into a scarcity mindset.
  2. I don’t feel over full when eating, but I do know when I’m “done”. Never had this feeling before. The food just becomes uninteresting and I leave what I don’t want.
  3. Whatever portion I put on my plate, no matter how small my eyes think it is, is enough. I’m thinking about portion sizes and what is adequate rather than too much so that when I get to a healthy weight I know what I need.
  4. My weekly food bill has dropped. Like, REALLY dropped. I didn’t think I was really a snacker but I must have been because the fridge and cupboards are actually still half full at the end of the week- and I have three boys 20/16/10 so they eat like rabid wolves. I’m not joking when I say that I spend a third less on food at the moment - helps pay for the jab!
  5. I have so much more headspace than before- didn’t realise how much of my time was taken up thinking about food/what to eat/when to eat/what to cook/when to shop- so I have got time to think about other stuff.

Went up to 3.75mg last week and have done the second at the same dose (used golden dose to get the extra for last two doses of the second 2.5mg pen). I’m losing steadily at ~1kg a week which is great considering I don’t feel I’m making any effort whatsoever 😂.

7 weeks lost 17lbs. Thrilled :)

Hello everyone.
week 7 weigh in.

ive not lost any weight this week at all. Which makes me a bit sad.

SW:19st10
CW:18st3
GW: 11st7

this week has been difficult for me though. Though not, for once, due to side effects which I finally have under control. But this week included my dad’s funeral, my birthday and my time of the month. I haven’t eaten more than usual but ive definitely consumed a vast amount of alcohol. So I do know WHY I haven’t lost weight but it’s still a little sad.

at least I didn’t gain though.

We started on the same day and I at week 7 have lost a pound got on the scales this morning and I have managed to put on 3lbs. I can not wait to go up to the 7.5ml and start to see some results.

A maintain is better than putting on, I think that we will all have stalls and blips on the way but think how fat you have come. I keep telling myself that this a life change. You have got this.

Morning week 7 weigh in here. I’m very pleased. I’ve adjusted my interim goal weight to where I would like to be when I go away in June. I’ve also calculated my % loss for that target (love a stat!).

Current stats at the end of week 7:
SW: 108.4
CW: 102.1
GW: 93.9 first interim goal.
Kgs to first goal weight: 8.2
Total of 14 pounds down, or 4.3kg, 43.73%
Current pen: 5mg, 3 week on this dosage

I’ve also taken some photos and I can see a big difference from my starting photos and this week.

it’s all been slow and steady but I’m seeing results, my stats are going down and I feel so much healthier. Off to do Pilates.

oh and I’ve bought a pink suede jacket from vinted to celebrate

TryingMJ · 19/04/2025 11:37

Well done everyone, so many successes! I’m moving up to 5mg next week and a bit apprehensive seeing the SE folks have been having! We shall see how it goes.

I have exactly 1 stone to lose to be in the healthy BMI category now 😍

tryingtobesogood · 19/04/2025 11:43

@soupforbrains it sounds like you have had a really hard week. Well done for getting through it. I hope things get a little easier for you now ❤️

Justformounjaro · 19/04/2025 11:44

Weigh in day for me today:

Pre Start Weight: 15st 6.5lbs
Start Weight MJ: 15st 0lbs
Goal Weight: Undecided
Current Weight: 14st 0.9lbs

Loss on MJ: 13.1lbs

Total loss: 1st 5.6lbs

Week 1: 3.1lbs (2.5mg)
Week 2: 2.1lbs (2.5mg)
Week 3: 1.5lbs (2.5mg)
Week 4: 1.6lbs (2.5mg)
Week 5: 1.7lbs (2.5mg)
Week 6: 0.5lbs (2.5mg)
Week 7: 2.6lbs (2.5mg)
Week 8:

Still not at a stone lost on MJ but I'm pleased with where I am overall. This week looks like a good result but, because I weigh daily, I know that it's because I didn't have any wine or peanuts last night (but I did have a Chinese) - and last week's smaller loss was because I'd eaten out on the Thursday and Friday with very salty food. I'm not experiencing many side effects on 2.5mg and losing at around 1.5lbs a week so I'm sticking at this level.

NSV: ordered a pair of size 16 jeans and they fit nicely - no muffin top. They (hopefully) won't need to be worn for too long before I'm in a smaller size but I needed something that isn't falling down off my backside. Tops and dresses you can get away with in larger sizes.

@soupforbrains I hope the funeral went as well as these things can. The lack of weight loss is only temporary; you'll be back on track soon Flowers

I have had no major side effects on 5mg, I have been cold and hungry, the suppression was wild for the first week and then nothing, it came back on Thursday this week.

Let us know how it goes.

tryingtobesogood · 19/04/2025 11:47

I’ve had no issues on 5mg, and feel much better than I did on 2.5. Weight loss is more consistent and I feel I have a better idea about what I need to eat and what my portion size should be.

Flamethrowers · 19/04/2025 12:31

Unfortunately my horrendous diarrhea returned. I can't even tell if I'm peeing or pooing. Chat gpt think that I eat something and that my newly sensitive Mounjaro stomach is struggling to cope. Lying in bed and feeling weak. Very sad to be missing our pub roast lunch tomorrow - would have been my first in ten years!
habent weighted myself as whatever I'm losing probably isn't fat. My ring comes off my finger now easily and my trousers (size 16) are slipping from my waist to my hips...

tryingtobesogood · 19/04/2025 12:38

Oh no @Flamethrowers have you considered some Imodium to stop the diarrhoea? It may help you keep fluids in which may also help you feel less wiped out.

MountainQueen · 19/04/2025 12:41

Hello all, haven't posted in a while. Have lost the count of weeks, I think I'm on my 7th week now? I've lost just over a stone but nobody has mentioned anything yet, when does it start to become obvious? I'm still patiently waiting for compliments to start but so far nothing 😄 DH knows about the jabs and has noticed the weight loss, my BMI has gone down from 29 to 26.6

Lolliz87 · 19/04/2025 12:57

SpottyUnicorn · 19/04/2025 09:51

@Lolliz87 you poor thing! This sounds absolutely horrible. One week alone with these symptoms was unbearable, I can’t even imagine what it’s been like for you for three weeks. Have you tried Pepto Bismol? I read that it can minimise some of the symptoms. I bought some yesterday in hope it will help once I take my next dosage.

No I might give it a go now thank you! I also might just do 3.75 next week and see if that helps as yeah it’s not much fun trying to work when I feel so rubbish. Still, am definitely losing weight my friends commented on it last night so that helps the determination to keep going x

I think nowadays a lot of people don't comment on people's weight, whether they've gained or lost, so i wouldn't let a lack of comments make you feel as though your weight loss isn't noticeable. For me I think that it's a positive as I hate people drawing attention to my weight even if they're meaning it as a compliment 🙂

Oh no! Poor thing. Have you eaten anything fried? My stomach could not cope when I ate 1.5 hash browns (first proper thing fried in weeks) last weekend and I had the bubble guts alllll day!

Yeah my friends only commented as they know im on the jabs as 2 of them are as well 😂. No one else would I don’t think as like you say it’s not polite to these days

GameOfJones · 19/04/2025 14:19

@SpottyUnicorn yes, I'm planning on doing a 'golden dose' for a 5th dose from this pen. It worked well for me last time and I feel comfortable doing it as it is still within the 30 days. It's an individual thing though, I can understand why some don't want to and would rather stick at the 4 prescribed doses.

@ShineyGreen I'm exactly the same. Our weekly shopping bill is vastly reduced. Both because I'm eating less and also am happier with simpler meals. I've swapped from Morrisons to Lidl for the weekly shop. Previously I wouldn't go to Lidl because I couldn't get everything I wanted from my shopping list but since being on Mounjaro I'm happy to just go with what they have and eat more simply in general.

I am also trying to retrain my brain about portion sizes. Today I went with DH and DDs to a café for brunch. I ordered the small cooked breakfast. One slice of bacon, one sausage, one hash brown a fried egg and some beans. It was the same size as DDs' children's portion and after I ate it I felt like I could have had more. But 30 minutes later once my body had caught up I realised I was really full. I think I need to realise that it may take me time to register that I've had enough food so to just eat to the point of feeling satisfied but not overly full. It's going to be a long process though, I've got decades of bad habits to try and unpick!

MountainQueen · 19/04/2025 14:42

I have a very small group of friends, I know them well enough to say they would definitely say something about my weight if they noticed, but they haven't. Probably the fact that I'm still hiding my body in big baggy clothes doesn't help. In my head I'm still this chubby woman, it's early days I suppose.

No one has noticed for me either @MountainQueen - and I think people would say something, I think I can only see a little on my face

Twinsandsome · 19/04/2025 16:38

Could I please have some advice? Are the pens set up to only click 4 times and that’s why you have to do a ‘hard twist’ to try for a 5th dose? The reason I’m asking is I currently have 2x 2.5 pens in my fridge and want to do a 3.75 dose tonight, can I do 3.75 on one pen or use one pen for 2.5 and the other to do half a dose? I probably am not making sense but basically if I did it using 2 pens the only that I only use for half a dose will it stop after 4x half doses and lots be wasted?

if you think I can use the same pen for 3.75 what way does that work needle wise?

SilenceInside · 19/04/2025 17:20

@Twinsandsome the pen turns 60 clicks when you wind it out to the 1 position to do a normal dose. The pen mechanism allows for 4 lots of 60, plus a couple of clicks extra each time for priming the needle. So, a total of 240 plus about 8 or so for priming. The pen mechanism locks after doing all those clicks, which is why you can't do a 5th dose normally.

If you want to do 3.75mg from a 2.5mg pen, that would need two separate injections. So you'd do a normal injection where you wind the pen out to the 1 position (which is 60 clicks as shown by the line markers and by listening to the clicks). Then you'd change the needle for a new needle, and do a second injection, but you'd only wind the pen out to 30 clicks, giving you a 1.25mg dose. You would have then used 90 clicks from that pen, from the total of 240. That would leave you 150 clicks left on that pen. So, that would give you another 2 full doses and another 30 click half dose.

There's no point using both pens to do this, as you can do it from one pen, and leave the other pen unused which means it will keep longer.
