New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

Evening all, tomorrow is weigh in day and I gave 5mg pen ready, but I think I should do 3.75. How many clicks again?
After being poorly earlier in the week, diahhorea for 3 days, horrendous, I think I'll have a good loss. I should be happy. BUT, anyone else got to a stage and have a bit of a downer, as in,how did I let this happen? 5 stone weight gain. I've a way to go.. anyway, just how I'm feeling. I'll bounce back. Hope everyone is OK!

45 clicks for 3.75.

Yep, also wondering how I got here. Fly dreadful today, assuming urs mj related but don't really know . 1.5st down, and at least 4 more to go. Moving to 5mg pen sunday. Maybe 3.75 though.

Fatmumslim01 · 17/04/2025 19:59

Thanks @CallMeStella I know pre COVID I was 11-7 and a BMI of around 30 which I was happy with but I know that's still not good for my health. I'm only 5 foot tall!

My lowest weight as an adult was at my booking in appointment with my eldest child and I was 8-13. So I think somewhere in the 9's would suit me but I'm also almost twice the age I was then 😂

My friend is 5ft and stays around just under 10 stone, normally 9st 10 and looks good for it.

Our bodies change as we age and we need a little extra cushioning to protect our bones 🤣

In what way do you feel dreadful?

Not just me then! it's like Mj has woken me up and i can properly see the damage..i know there are many months ahead to go.

ended week 4 with a 9lb loss in total so far, down to 12.8. Was feeling quite snacky in week 3/4, but had already bought a 2.5mg pen for month 2 as felt fine at that point. My prescriber recommended injecting every 5 days if I needed that extra suppression until moving to 5mg, and that seems to have done the trick.
still can’t believe how this has changed my head (and is changing my body) in such a short space of time. Sometimes I miss the desire to have a good pig-out, I’ve had such happy times eating over the years! (Tooo many happy times 😂) but body image issues are exhausting, so much preferring having the emphasis on moderation (without the hideous amounts of mental willpower required!!). Husband has predictably lost 3lbs in 4 days since starting. The cheek!! 😂

@PlexGirl34 so good to hear you’re doing well 😃

OMG you’re the first person who has said how my brain thinks 🤣 The feeling of missing having pig out and enjoying something naughty plays on my mind a lot 😬 and for some reason my brain leans towards that over the thought of being healthy and slimmer! I think I’ll just have to put it down to my messed up mind 🙈🤣

Fatmumslim01 · 17/04/2025 22:13

Decided to take the golden dose this evening rather than tomorrow morning, only 12 hours difference but thought I'd best do it tonight when DC asleep rather than in the morning incase I'm disturbed etc.

I only got 0.5ml so not a full dose 😞 I'm expecting to be hungry next week 😂

Dont know why it was only 0.5, I've heard lots of people having more and using it as a bridging dose which is what I was hoping for. Maybe I've been priming too much but I've been following the instructions of 2 clicks then holding it down for 5 seconds?

GameOfJones · 17/04/2025 22:23

That's interesting @Fatmumslim01 the instructions that came with mine didn't say about holding it down for 5 seconds to prime...just until you see a drop of liquid coming out of the needle. So that may account for having more left at the end.

@popdepop my best advice if you do the 45 clicks for a 3.75mg dose is to mark with a pen where that line is. I did a second 3.75mg dose this week and that made it much easier rather than counting again.

Suppression has been strong today but I've been able to eat, albeit not a lot. I'm hoping it wears off a bit for Easter Sunday as I'm out for a meal with family that don't know I'm taking Mounjaro so I want to be able to eat enough of a portion to not draw any attention to myself.

What are people saying to anyone that asks? I don't want to lie, but there are some people I don't want to tell I'm taking injections. I'm thinking of something along the lines of "I'm just eating less and trying to focus on better nutrition" which isn't a lie.

There’s only meant to be 0.6ml left, so not much difference.

My instructions say to hold for 5 seconds after injection, not when priming. I always have extra coming out even after those 5 seconds too.

That’s a good idea about marking the 3.75 dose, I’ll do that when I start the 5mg too ☺️

Thank you, I'm really pleased to be off to a good start with the loss.

I felt fine in the morning but leading up to lunchtime felt lightheaded and "spaced out" really hot and like I was going to pass out the initial feeling lessened but felt off for the rest of the day, lightheaded, spacey and irritable. People at work telling ne I looked awful.

That doesn't sound like MJ SE, but who knows. I hope you pick up soon!

popdepop · 18/04/2025 07:34

Good morning all. 1st month done and I have finished 2.5 and will increase to 3.75 I think today. I'm too scared to go to 5mg!

SW when ordering MJ 15.3.25 16 stone11
W1 start weight, didn't weigh!
W2 16,3
W3 16,1
W4 15,8
TW initially 11

Loss 1 stone 3 pounds. 😀

I mentioned yesterday feeling a little low as I've 'woken up' to my weight and what I look like. Must think positively as it's onwards and downwards from here. Going for a long walk today which hopefully will help.
Have a great day!
I'll decided later if to take to plunge to 5mg or go for 3.75mg. Will inject this afternoon

I couldn’t agree more. It’s like I knew I was overweight but didn’t really notice. Now I can see it all very clearly and it’s difficult. I’m still on holiday with my first 3.75, and it has been difficult with buffets etc but I’m trying. I think we have to remember to be patient.

TryingMJ · 18/04/2025 07:58

Week 7 weigh in:

Start weight 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight 11 stone 9.6lbs

Loss this week 3.1lbs

Total loss 1 stone 10.9lbs (or 24.9lbs)

Very pleased! Have been on school Easter holidays this week, lots of days out with friends and family and have been able to make choices like no ice cream when everyone else getting one, bring a packed lunch rather than cafe or pub lunch etc. Yesterday went to a family Easter gathering- had buffet food, all quite rich like quiche, potato salad drenched in mayo, cheese board (I’m veggie so none of the joint of ham for me!)- I had one plate and didn’t go back for seconds, then had one chocolate brownie, I really enjoyed it but then stopped rather than binging as I would have before. When I came home I went for a long walk, around 7km then I had diarrhoea which I put down to the rich food.

Jab 8 tonight, will be my last 2.5mg before moving up to the 5mg next week. Happy Friday everyone!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 18/04/2025 08:02

@popdepop thank you, I think it was you with some awful SE wasn't it? Hopefully you've seen the last of them.

I had a 5th jab from the 2.5 pen Sunday, which was a littke more than the usual dose. I think I'm going to do 3.75 next time from my 5mg pen.

Re finally realising our size/weight. I've lost 1.5 st and obviously I'm still fat. Still well into the obese category of BMI. Still got 4st to lose. This is all quite unbelievable to me, and I can't believe that I got to the stage I did. I am though SO pleased I took the plunge with MJ, and I think staying positive and patient us the key to success.

I don't appear to be losing this week BUT I've lost 1 5st so far so of course it will slow down. I also ate differently yesterday due to feeling crap, I felt like I was having a low blood sugar episode, so ate to try and combat that.

So I'm actually feeling OK about no loss this week so far, and am not letting ut affect my outlook. (weigh day is Sunday. )

Yes, I was in denial. In fact, I was in denial of the denial. I think MJ is brain altering.. it definitely works doesn't it!
Yep, the patience bit is hard.. it's like you want to speed up the weeks. At least we know it WILL work and we will get there.
Enjoy your holiday!

Yes it was me, back end of last weekend, it was horrendous. I was last week of 2.5mg and decided to also take around 1mg of the golden dose. That was a mistake, clearly too early. It accounts for the 5 pounds weight loss this week.
Sulphur burps even when I was hardly eating and the diahorrea was constant and sudden and didn't make it to the toilet.. that bad. I couldn't go out, it was so sudden. Luckily I wfh, so it was manageable but I had very little sleep. So I'm cautious about going to 5mg.
That's the thing, our weight loss is good, but im the same, still well into obese. But I just ate crap, I could let get control. MJ has given me that. I don't think I would have done it without MJ tbh.
I do need to drink more water!
Good luck for Sunday, pleased you're at peace with it this week, whatever Sunday brings!

Hi I'm just popping over from the April starters thread to ask a question to those of you who are a little bit ahead on your journey.

I'm currently at the end of W1 and due to do my 2nd jab this evening. Lost 4lb and I'm thrilled with that but I've definitely been more hungry the last few days. I was wondering, in your experience, does the appetite suppression build as you take more doses? And stay more consistent across the week or will it likely reduce every time as the week goes on?

Xx

Beinthepresent · 18/04/2025 08:34

I'm sorry for everyone feeling a bit down, I started feeling it a bit this week too. I was thinking because that initial rush of loosing weight has passed and the realisation dawns of how far we actually have to go. I don't know about anyone else but the first few losses I could really feel and almost felt slim but it's like I've looked in the mirror and seen I'm not actually slim yet! Hopefully we will all start to pick up again very soon.

Hi, I think everyone is different. I sometimes feel myself thinking about food but then when I really think about it I don't want anything or if I try to eat it I can only have a bite, lots of people also find the suppression goes up and down through the week. Just try and be more mindful of do you actually want it are you actually hungry? Hope this helps a bit.

I think it’s also we have now done it long enough for the novelty to wear off and impatience to kick in… it’s getting out heads around the fact that it’s not a quick fix (as one doesn’t exist) and we’ve all been on the dieting merry go round before… but maintaining hope/faith that this time will be different…

Sending positive vibes x

Back to you too!
WIth MJ the difference being, I KNOW I'll get there with the help of the supression. It makes dieting so much easier.
Yes, not a quick fix. We need to hold onto 6 months from now, see the bigger pictures and set interim goals. I think there will be personal growth in the process, if that makes sense. Also remember to not be hard on ourselves and to have small rewards, not so much food related, but something that acknowledges our weight loss along the way..

Hey @SausageRoll90 yes I have found in my experience it builds up. Obviously everyone is different but I jab on a Friday and I found that in week 1 it has worn off by the Monday whereas by week 3 it was Wednesday, week 4 was Thursday

taylorswift1989 · 18/04/2025 09:38

Had a busy few days and have missed so much conversation! Congrats to all on your losses and NSVs.

I tried to do the 2.5mg golden dose this morning but even though I managed to turn the pen, I couldn't depress the plunger to actually inject myself!

So I started on my 5mg pen, doing around 40 clicks, which I guess is just over 3mg. Seems to have gone okay but I always have the feeling after I injection that maybe I've done it wrong!

Trying not to be anxious that I got any of the golden dose plus the new pen dose! I don't think i did - i extracted the remaining dose with a syringe (but didn't inject) and there was loads left.

Anyway! I might weigh myself later today. I go into boots and get a printout every couple of weeks or whenever I feel emotionally able! I've definitely lost weight - clothes feel different and I can see it in my face.

I definitely need to be lifting heavy weights more often as I'm worried about losing muscle.
