New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

This was the last time I had it, I chose paneer as I didn’t fancy chicken that day. It’s a huge portion and delish!

Great idea! Will try this! Thank you

Could also be the water and food intake . I have very cold hands and feet’s in the morning to the point my feet’s becomes blue but after drinking a liter of water and had some food it disappears . I’m usually warm in the evening (my main meal of the day is lunch currently)

Horrible. What dose are you on?

2.5!!!!!!

TheBossOfMe · 17/04/2025 11:17

@Flamethrowers Did you eat close to bedtime? I find if I eat any closer to bedtime than 3 hours I get a lot of refluxy acid - probably not enough time for food to digest before going horizontal.

Beinthepresent · 17/04/2025 11:20

4th weigh in for me and lost 1.5 kilos.
Going to try the extra dose later on and I've got another 2.5 pen ready to start next week. Minimal side effects for me and the tiredness is definitely starting to subside.
Can I ask anyone get hair on their face? I can normally tweeze them out a few a day and I will shave every so often but the last two weeks it's like I've got constant stubble- too short to pull out with tweezers, its like the growth has slowed down. Hoping eventually that will be a good thing but it's awful at the moment.

TheBossOfMe · 17/04/2025 11:42

@Beinthepresent I've not read anything about facial hair, but on some of the earlier starter threads people talk about hair growth slowing and even losing hair. It's about your body not getting enough nutrients to support hair growth. I think the answer might be upping protein intake and taking an iron supplement. There's a supplement called Viviscal which is specifically designed to promote hair growth which is supposed to work well.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 17/04/2025 11:56

Morning all, are these the right needles for the extra dose?

My hair growth has slowed down and I can measure it by my roots coming in. normally I'd have about half a centimetre at this stage after a dye but there's nothing there. I'm taking biotin and also iron tablets (but this is because my iron is very low always - bouncing at the lowest end of bormal

  • and a dermatologist (consultant) told me to get it up to 70-100 which is necessary for hair and nail growth)
  • excuse wierd formatting

Not particularly. I just think it's chaos in my stomach!

Flamethrowers · 17/04/2025 12:09

Also vitamin D3 zinc and collagen (intake collagen but there's a bit of me waiting for collagen supplements to be debunked!

Beinthepresent · 17/04/2025 12:20

Thanks, I'll look into some supplements before my hair on my head slows too!

Yessss I feel like a billy goat 🤣 it’s driving me insane! Apparently it’s worsened if you’re overweight too! I haven’t noticed any difference in growth but would be very happy if there was 😭

If it’s due to lack of vitamins/minerals, I do take a multi vit every day aimed at women’s health

Hi all
Lots of continued success which is good to read.
My weight loss has stalled. Not really lost anything the last two weeks since I started 5mg. I'm desperate to lose the last little bit so I can say I've lost a stone.

Life has been busy and my diet hasn't been as mindful or considered. I've also eaten a whole Lindt (200g) chocolate bunny. I'm perimenopausal so things are a bit hit and miss but I might also be approaching my period with associated water retention.

There have been positives though - I went away for the weekend and managed to make healthy food choices while there. I'm mostly continuing to eat healthily at work and I have definitely upped my protein intake which was much needed.

I've also had NSV - my bra band, belt and watch strap are all on looser settings.

I have a protein recommendation - Graham's protein yogurts. They come in pouches like Ella's Kitchen so I do end up feeling like a toddler but they:

  1. taste nice
  2. aren't a weird texture
  3. have recognisable ingredients in them so I don't stress about my UPF intake
  4. are resealable so I have some first thing, then the rest at lunchtime usually.

I'm in London and only get Strawberry in my local Tesco but a big Sainsbury's in Scotland had about 10 flavours.

Edited

in can understand the disappointment but try to eat well even when the suppression is not at its strongest and make sure you drink plenty of water. Water both removes water retention and suppresses hunger.

I had a peak at some of the “veteran” groups who has been along time on the jab and many states regular plateau but inches are coming off even if the weight isn’t shifting , many of the ones been on it a long time remained on small dosage and still shifted several stones in weight

I had a 2 week stall on first two weeks on 2.5 and felt disheartened but then it eventually went back on track my aim is 4% weightloss every 4 weeks , some weeks will be more and some will be less than 1%

also many don’t loose until the higher doses but as you almost lost a st you seem to be on track (I will probably just go over 1st this week which is my w6) we both have same target weight too (my sw was 115.0)

TheBossOfMe · 17/04/2025 16:51

Accountability check in ahead of the long weekend. I jabbed a day early this week to max suppression a day earlier than usual - feeling a tiny bit nauseous, but made myself eat crudités and hummus for lunch. Yesterday was a bit of a high salt day - takeaway sushi for lunch, home made ramen for dinner - so I was expecting to have put some water weight on, but it held steady, which is hopeful.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 5.6lb/131.6lb BMI 23.4 - 13lb down, 48.9% of target achieved. (Still overweight because of ethnicity)
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 13.6lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 2.7lb so far

This weekend is going to be a challenge - away for two nights so that will be all meals out, and then lots of extended family meals. Hoping the suppression will help, but the pattern of loss since I started tells me a lot about how I'm impacted by meals out even when I keep portions small. So will really have to dig into the willpower this weekend.

SharpOpalNewt · 17/04/2025 17:46

As of this morning I have now got my 1 stone rosette on Nutracheck 🎖

SW: 13st 4lbs (1st March)
CW 12st 3lbs
GW: 11st

Final 5mg jab tomorrow, then am going up to 7.5mg.

Fatmumslim01 · 17/04/2025 17:51

Weigh day today and 1 pound off for me. So that's a total of 9 pound in 4 weeks. Can't help being slightly disappointed even though it's been the holidays so we always have more nicer meals, days out and takeaways etc.

Hopefully doing golden dose tomorrow morning but if I can't get it out I've got my 5mg pen ready but I'll probably do 3.75.

SW 14-7
CW 13-12
GW 11-7 (BMI 30) then will review. Realistically goal weight needs to be 9-7.

TheBossOfMe · 17/04/2025 18:20

@Fatmumslim01 9lb in 4 weeks is amazing especially given the holidays. You should be feeling really proud, especially since you’re only on 2.5mg. Well done you!!!!

TryForSpring · 17/04/2025 19:08

soupforbrains · 13/04/2025 07:32

I may have had a bit of a revelation about my side effects.

as I’ve documented in these threads a gazillion times I had violent vomiting the day after injecting every week for my whole first pen. So made the somewhat obvious decision to stay at 2.5mg but moved to splitting the dose into 2 half doses per week.

this improved things a lot and I ‘only’ had a little nausea and the stomach churning/ache but zero vomiting. Which felt like a miracle for me. I also found that on my Tuesday second jabs I had even fewer side effects.

I decided to take my next half dose a day early on Friday. Since the 3 day gap between sat and Tuesday worked well, why not another 3 days gap.

well. I think I have discovered that the side effects weren’t necessarily cause by the dose alone but by the ‘jump’ between the BIG drop off at the end of the week and then the full dose right after. These extremes were reduced by splitting the dose but then I reduced them more by keeping a consistent 3 days interval. I had absolutely zero SEs yesterday after jabbing on Friday.

im excited about this as it means that I probably can move up a dose on my next pen. For the rest of this pen I am going to inject every 3 days. Using the golden dose liquid I’ll be able to make up the ‘extra’ days. Then I’ll order a 5mg pen next time and I will very gradually increase my doses. And see how it goes.

@Flamethrowers, have you seen what SoupforBrains is doing? Might help you avoid your awful side effects.

My lowest weight as an adult was 10 stone 4, I was a size 12 but looked smaller. I’ve always looked smaller than the size I am. But at that weight I was JUST in the healthy range BMI wise. BMI doesn’t account for a lot of differences in people and it still shocks me that it’s based off of only two sets of data.

If I went below 10 stone, I’d look skinny. Don’t focus too much on what you ‘should’ be and find a weight/size where you’re most comfortable ☺️

Thanks @CallMeStella I know pre COVID I was 11-7 and a BMI of around 30 which I was happy with but I know that's still not good for my health. I'm only 5 foot tall!

My lowest weight as an adult was at my booking in appointment with my eldest child and I was 8-13. So I think somewhere in the 9's would suit me but I'm also almost twice the age I was then 😂

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 17/04/2025 20:10

Evening all. Wk 5 day 5. Had a mid week weigh this morning, no movement at all. And today I have felt shocking. Ok to start then felt woozy/light headed eay lunchtime and havent felt right since. I've made sure to eat plenty, even sone gummy sweets in case of low blood sugar. Also had a bought sandwich alongside veg/houmous. Then a bought flap jack snd bottle of pop. Still feel not right even now. Not sure if uts related to MJ or not tbh.

BabyHandsRobin · 17/04/2025 20:30

ended week 4 with a 9lb loss in total so far, down to 12.8. Was feeling quite snacky in week 3/4, but had already bought a 2.5mg pen for month 2 as felt fine at that point. My prescriber recommended injecting every 5 days if I needed that extra suppression until moving to 5mg, and that seems to have done the trick.
still can’t believe how this has changed my head (and is changing my body) in such a short space of time. Sometimes I miss the desire to have a good pig-out, I’ve had such happy times eating over the years! (Tooo many happy times 😂) but body image issues are exhausting, so much preferring having the emphasis on moderation (without the hideous amounts of mental willpower required!!). Husband has predictably lost 3lbs in 4 days since starting. The cheek!! 😂

@PlexGirl34 so good to hear you’re doing well 😃

Evening all, tomorrow is weigh in day and I gave 5mg pen ready, but I think I should do 3.75. How many clicks again?
After being poorly earlier in the week, diahhorea for 3 days, horrendous, I think I'll have a good loss. I should be happy. BUT, anyone else got to a stage and have a bit of a downer, as in,how did I let this happen? 5 stone weight gain. I've a way to go.. anyway, just how I'm feeling. I'll bounce back. Hope everyone is OK!
