New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

did the golden dose last week, low suppression, quite low mood and continued vivid dreams. Doing the first 5mg dose today.

Lolliz87 · 16/04/2025 20:21

Feeling very poorly again, 24 hours after 3rd 5mg. I think I’ll stick to a 5 for the next month too as can’t imagine feeling like this every week for 2-3 days. Blurgh!

Fatmumslim01 · 16/04/2025 20:49

I'm so full my tummy feels so stretched 😱 although looking flatter I think!

Just been out for a roast dinner, only had the meat and veg and 1 small potato no Yorkshire etc and I'm absolutely stuffed! Shows the MJ is building up in my system although it's day 6 today so I thought it would be wearing off but maybe as I'm on week 3 now it's not wearing off towards the end of the week as much, jab day Friday.

Amazing how little I've eaten and how satisfied I feel well too full really. Also turnee down dessert and didn't feel I was missing out or anything.

MJ is literally changing my brain i think!

I completely agree. Now I'm past the 3 days of awful diahorreah, supression is great, just not thinking about food anymore, pretty satisfied most of the time with small amounts.. I'm noticeably slimmer now. Weigh day Friday and onto W5, first month done!

GameOfJones · 16/04/2025 21:54

I had a more carby day than usual today. Beans on toast at lunchtime and then pasta for dinner. Not a huge portion, I served up my bowl half the size of DH's and added salad on the side but MY GOODNESS did I know about it. I was so bloated afterwards that my stomach felt like a balloon.... really tight and uncomfortable. Fortunately much better now after a bit of a walk around and sipping a glass of water.

I haven't had that before but it's also the first time I've eaten pasta since starting Mounjaro so may be something I need to bear in mind.

TheBossOfMe · 16/04/2025 22:12

@GameOfJones I find I bloat really badly after a carb heavy meal now. I always did but it’s really noticeable now. All of which is helping reset my mind on what’s “good calories” vs “not that good for me calories”.

Flamethrowers · 17/04/2025 07:02

Horrible side effect last night at 6.5 weeks - silent reflux (which I've never had before) woke me up gagging and gasping for breath following 24 hours of explosive diarrhoea.

HappyKatieA · 17/04/2025 07:38

Good Morning!
I hopped on the scales this morning to find I haven’t lost anything, which is a first whilst being on MJ.
it will be my 4th jab on 5mg today, and I’ve got another 5mg in sitting in the fridge waiting to go.
I'm a bit disappointed, but I know it will come off at some point, it’s not always going to be linear.

PlexGirl34 · 17/04/2025 07:39

Morning all you lovelies WK 5 weight in for me after moving up to 5mg and only a 1lb of this morning. I was hoping for me but still happy to keep losing.

Horrible. What dose are you on?

AddictedtoCrunchies · 17/04/2025 08:38

My first stone off 🎊 BMI 27.2 > 25 (high BP)

I moved to 5mg Sunday and Monday SE were awful. Since then I've felt ok. I'm not getting anywhere near the suppression and fullness I got in the first two weeks of 2.5mg but there is definitely something there.. Now the marathon is over, I'm tracking my calories and sticking to 1400 or under as I feel this will be ok to continue with post MJ. I'm also making sure I get my 10k steps daily rather than relying on the weekend's long run to bring my average up.

Wk1 2.5mg 190.6lbs (sw)
Wk2 2.5mg 186lbs (-4.6lbs)
Wk3 2.5mg 183.2lbs (-2.8lbs)
Wk4 2.5mg 181lbs (-2.2lbs)
Wk5 2.5mg 180.2lbs (-0.8lbs)
Wk6 5mg 178lbs (-2.2lbs)
CW 176.6lbs
TW 155lbs

I'm going to finish this 5mg pen and see where I'm at. I might pause for a month to see how I get on without it. As Monday SE were grim..

Paulahoust · 17/04/2025 08:44

Week 4 weigh in and lost 3lb, so happy I have been able to start walking again after a broken foot and it has definitely made a difference!

I have 4 kids and 1 c-sections which were twins and they weighed 7lbs and 7lbs 4oz, my other kids both weighed over 8lbs.

It was the hardest thing I ever did, I had 4 kids under 9 and could ot stand straight for over a month but the results are amazing.

Wow! 4 kids under 9 as well as surgery! Was recovery very painful, a lot worse than c section recovery? If I get down to under 9 stone and I've still got my big mum pouch then I think I'll seriously consider it.

GameOfJones · 17/04/2025 09:08

Jab number 7 done. I went for 3.75mg again as it worked so well for me this past week.

Someone at work asked whether I'd lost weight this morning and followed it up with "sorry, I never know whether to mention it as I know some people don't like comments about weight loss" but I told her I was absolutely delighted that she had noticed 🤣.

MrsMariaReynolds · 17/04/2025 09:24

Morning ladies!
It's week 3 of the 2nd pen (5mg) for me and I'm officially down a stone in total since my start on MJ 7 weeks ago.

Not a big loss this week, or any week at all to be fair, (less than a kilo) but it's Easter Holidays and I'm off my usually active school job so my body isn't moving as much. But it does go to show that even little losses add up if you just keep at it.

IngoGreen · 17/04/2025 09:27

Sorry to hear about SEs people are getting. @Flamethrowers that reflux thing sounds hideous.

@AddictedtoCrunchies your SEs must be tough to want to pause, sounds horrible. The advice is not to pause for that long or you’ll be free of MJ in your system and have to get your body used to it again. You could reduce down to 3.75 from 5mg and see if that helps.

I’m 4 weeks in and have lost a stone. Last time I lost a stone about 3 years ago was with intermittent fasting and it took a few months. I am doing more aerobic exercise this time and strength training, actually developing some baby biceps. I’m all in for a life change. Have spent the last 2 years most evenings sitting watching TV with crisps and chocolate.

For me the SEs are not bad and still getting pretty good food suppression and will start on another month at 2mg today before deciding whether to shift up to 3.75mg.

Going for a big family meal out at favourite curry house tonight. Any tips? Was thinking chicken tikka with some dahl.

It was stomach issues and not pleasant. I'll try 5mg again on Sunday but if it happens again, I'll reduce to 3.75. I assume that's 45 clicks rather than 60? Or maybe I just need to (wo)man up.and push through.

Aboutmeabouttime · 17/04/2025 09:38

Two random thoughts for Thursday…

Nonsense SE… Cold feet! I’m so fed up of cold feet in bed, having to put socks on as I can’t fall asleep and then having to take them off in the middle of the night coz my feet are warm and I don’t like the feeling of having them on. Need to find some soft warm socks… in Spring!

AirUp - my DD got an AirUp bottle for Christmas and it’s bonkers but works if anyone struggles to drink plain water. Tricks your brain into thinking you are drinking a flavoured drink by smell alone.

The operation was hardcore, the pain was a lot worse than a c section but the results were so worth it, it is the best thing I have ever done.

I would say have the surgery here in the UK, I can not imagine having to get on a plane even 2 weeks after the surgery. Research the surgeon and their technique, I wanted one that did not use drains because of infection risk. My surgeon actually sews the skin onto muscles so that you never get loose skin. Game changer.

@Aboutmeabouttime I switched from socks as, like you, was waking in the night to take them off, to having a wheat pack (the microwaveable ones), just put that in your bed around the feet area before you get into bed then it’s all warm and it cools off gradually so no more waking in the night as in your sleep you’ll just push it further down the bed so it doesn’t get in your way…worth a try!

I have cold feet and generally run cold, yesterday I had the heating up to 23 degrees, a blanket and a thick jumper.

When I get into bed I slide my feet under my husband's legs who runs hot all the bloody time, and then I cuddle up to him, he probably thought that I was coming on to him, nope mate I am just bloody freezing and tired.

OP posts:
Justformounjaro · 17/04/2025 09:58

I am feeling the cold more but it varies throughout the day. In bed, I’m warm until I wake up before 6am as I need a wee. Since starting Mounjaro, which also coincided with changing my HRT prescription (so I don’t know what to attribute this to), I cannot get back to sleep and I start to freeze in bed until it’s time to get up. Then I go through cycles of sufficiently warm and cold all day. I’m wearing my Oodie on a regular basis and sit under a blanket on the sofa.

I always go for shashlik from Indian takeaway, it’s your protein of choice on skewers with peppers, onions, tomato cooked in the tandor. They serve it with salad and mint sauce. It’s delish and the healthiest option on the menu
