New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

I just bought a sewing machine! I'm a weird shape even when I'm slim so figured I may as well learn to alter my own clothes. Not sure how successful I'll be though, I'm not very crafty 😂

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 16/04/2025 10:44

In other news, I was feeling slightly "backed up", so the past 2 or 3 days I've been very careful about what I'm eating. Well, (TMI) but it's worked. Massive poop had so hoping for a loss tomorrow 😂

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 16/04/2025 10:57

I am leaving Medexpress as they are not price matching with codes.

Anyone that changed providers please let me know who you have gone with.

This is my life 🤣 I have to alter anything which has bottoms! I have slim legs, chunky thighs and carry weight around my hips and belly 🤣 I always need to size up and then have to adjust the legs 😩

Good luck 🤣

WePrescribe babe, I posted last night about it. They price matched the 5mg pen so I got it for £106.99 including delivery.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader I'm with Asda although they are not the cheapest I like picking it up in store. They currently have 22% off it's on the main page of the website. I pay £180 full price for 5mg

I’m about to go with Oushk, they offer maintenance down to BMI 22, I emailed them last night and they got back to me straightaway so customer service is good too!

I’ve read on Monj that Farmeci price match with discounts and offer maintenance. They’re also pretty cheap with their own new customer discount. I used them for my first pen and they were very efficient.

I’m not sure if I’m just too impatient or what but I’m so frustrated that the suppression hasn’t started yet. I’m now on wk3 d3 and still hungry, still having to mentally slap myself away from the cakes and biscuits 🥲 to be fair I am feeling the hunger a lot less but it still takes an incredible amount of willpower to grab an apple or cucumber sticks instead of a bag of Haribo or a chocolate bar 😅

Flamethrowers · 16/04/2025 12:04

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 16/04/2025 10:42

I also take meds for high BP, mine was off the scale a few years ago. I didn't get on with ramipril (made me cough all night) so was switched to Losartan, then added Amlodopine as it was still very high. Had a BP check a few months ago and it was ok on these 2 meds. Had it done Friday and ws lower end of normal so will need to keep am eye on it.

@Flamethrowers I had a blood test Friday, to check thyroid as had my dose increased 3 months ago, at my highest weight. I'm now 1.5 st down so will be interesting to see if that's had any effect.

Oh please report back!

TheBossOfMe · 16/04/2025 12:15

@AintNobodyHereButUsChickens - I think for some people, the food noise doesn't go away, it hasn't for me really, I still think about food and feel hungry at times. For me the "suppression" comes in feeling full very quickly - so rather than just carrying on eating, I eat slowly and stop when I feel that first sense of "not hungry anymore", which then becomes "OMG I'm really full" about 15 mins later.

Because of that, and because I know I'll have health/fitness issues if I don't keep protein and good nutrient levels up, I'm actively avoiding the cakes etc. It's not that I don't want them, I still do. But I know that if I have them, I'll not have room for the stuff that I need to eat, IYSWIM.

I'm still only on 5mg, so that may change as I go up a dose. But it still takes willpower and some thinking - it's not been a magic bullet for me at all.

I’ve gone with Oushk for next round as well, moving to 5mg for £134.98 including big box of needles with new starter discount. They had a lot of flexibility with delivery dates.

Flaitch · 16/04/2025 13:04

@TheSpoonyNavyReader i left med express too, went with Numan got £100 off so paid £109 for 5mg . Unsure of 7.5mg price if your going up but I’ve got a £100 off code if you want it or anyone else?

Tocktik · 16/04/2025 09:30

After looking around at different pharmacies I think I’m going to go with Oushk for my next few as they seem to support lower bmi dosing.
does anyone know if you can stack the new user code and blue light code?

Ooh, I’m blue light too. Hadn’t even thought of that!

Beachy77 · 16/04/2025 13:22

Hello, not been on for a while. Took my 6th jab on Saturday night. 2nd at 3.75. Seems to be working a lot better than 2.5 (lost 9lb in total) for me but my god the queasiness and off balance feeling is driving me potty. Has anyone else had this and found a way to stop it?

I’m on W4D3 and am only just having a feeling of fullness and lack of appetite the past two days. I had it for one day last week and that’s been it for the whole time since I started MJ.

i think the side effects are few and far between for some on lower doses and in all honesty, I prefer days where I don’t have this fullness feeling and have hunger as this isn’t healthy in my opinion. I’d much rather learn better eating habits through conscious decisions. But now I understand why some of you are dropping weight so quickly.

What I’d love is to not think about sweet foods or binging but I guess we can’t pick and choose which SE we get

But to reassure you, I’m a week ahead of you and have only had 3 days of appetite suppression the whole time

I don’t know about you but for me part of it was breaking bad habits, when I’d go out the kitchen I’d reach for a snack, now I am just drinking instead, when I see it I think oh I could eat that I like that food but when I really think about it I’m not actually hungry.

Echo what another poster said though about upping protein, makes a massive difference! I have a protein shake first thing to get me going, not ideal long term but thought I need to break the habits first and then I can go on to improve my nutrient sources

Ooh, I didn't connect feeling off balance with MJ - I've got poor balance anyway, but it's been really bad the last week or two.

CallMeStella · 16/04/2025 14:50

I don’t know if anyone here has seen Smile 2 but the main character is trying to stop smoking and her therapist told her to drink water instead when she has a craving which I thought is a really good idea! But for someone like me who drinks like a fish and pees like a rhino it won’t work 🤣

GameOfJones · 16/04/2025 15:46

@Beachy77 are you eating enough? I had dizziness in my first few weeks and I think it was because I wasn't eating enough so it was low blood sugar. Since then I'll make myself have something, even if it's just a protein shake.

@AintNobodyHereButUsChickens I'm not sure I've had a reduction in food noise either. I certainly still think about food and plan what I'm going to have for my meals. I think the Mounjaro has just given me some liquid willpower so I find it easier to say "I don't snack, wait until the next meal" most days. I was doing 16/8 intermittent fasting before starting injections anyway, that's how I lost my first stone but the Mounjaro has made it feel easier to make better meal choices. I'm not sure why, it's hard to describe. Part of me thinks it may just be a placebo because I've spent a lot of money on the jabs so I don't want it to be a waste! But I certainly do still get thoughts about food, I am just able to say "no crisps today, maybe tomorrow" whereas before I would have found that much more difficult.

Crikeyalmighty · 16/04/2025 16:04

@GameOfJones I think there’s an element of that - if the syringes were full of saline I still think some people would get SE, plenty would still lose weight because they are sticking to a very strict calorie controlled diet and drinking a lot more water- the fact you have paid oodles to do it I feel gives it all a different impetus and is making people stick to things they never did before. The fact it’s medicalised too and the fear of SE means I feel that way more will adhere to the low fat , high protein ( similar to Atkins) way of dieting -

I am not of course saying it is that - but I do think the ‘paying big bucks’ and medicalising aspect is helping people’s will power no end

i think it’s an element of this but also many people don’t get suppression until higher doses it depends on your body’s reaction to the medication and if it’s already producing enough of it. It’s the same with SE , SE is actually triggered by how or bodies reacts to the ingredients or so I read, one of the SE is weight loss through feeling fuller and quietens food noise.

I also watched a reel the other day where the person mentioned that your body quickly gets immune to GLP-1 medications as weight loss is actually a SE not the actual purpose. He described it as medically designed also by producing companies hence why it’s more costly to be on the higher doses (and less pharmacies offer discount after first doses/joining). I actually believe in this as the effects of 2.5 wore off on me first couple of weeks and now on 5mg it’s already not as strong this week as last week but still strong enough for me to consider staying on this dose potentially another pen.

I have decided to go up to 7.5ml as the first week was wild and I will take my last dose on Friday, I can feel it wearing off as today, I have been starving.

The weight loss is starting to stall, and I think I will only loss a pound this week.

W6 D4 5mg
SW 236
CW 222 (possibly less after today's limited menu and tomorrows fast)

Success! I have a test tomorrow at the hospital and have a handful of foods I can eat in the run up. Usually this would be torture and I'd be climbing the walls. But today... Meh. It is what it is sort of attitude. Yeah I'm hungry (peckish, not sure I feel actual hunger on MJ) but dinner isn't until 6pm so I'll entertain myself until then. The thought of fasting tomorrow would usually fill me with dread but I have my 2litre bottle of water ready to go and I'm not at all fazed. In the past I would have planned a big blow out meal "to make up for it" but tomorrow we will be having a normal everyday meal when DH gets home from work.

I'm off to see the endocrinologist next month about my PCOS and I'm going to be having the conversation with him about how great MJ has been for managing my many symptoms. I feel the best I have felt for many years and finally understand how "normal" people feel. The mantra of eating less and move more (which was spouted by him the first time I went) is a bunch of crap. I couldn't eat less. I was hungry 99% of the time. I could eat a full dinner plus pudding and still be hungry half an hour later. I woke up every day craving sugar and coffee. I couldnt function without my sugar hit. I had mid day lulls that were crippling. Not had a single one of those since I started. My skin is clear, my hair feels so much better and I'm sleeping well. I hope one day they understand how the endocrine system affects everything and they don't downplay female health conditions. I accept I will always have to fund MJ privately but I hope this becomes available for those that cannot stump up the £100s each month

Yes I think I will decide start end of week 3 (planning to switch provider to save £ otherwise I would have waited to week 4 to decide)

I understand how you feel I have 1lb losses on week 3-4 on 2.5 and felt great with a 3.5lb loss again last week on w1 5mg
