New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

If you do 3.75 for a few doses would that mean there is more left in the oven for syringing out? As the pen holds 4 lots of 5mg plus a bit extra so if you are only doing 4 x 3.75 surely the plunger won't go down as much so there will be more left for potential golden doses (as long as still within 30 days?)

Yes there definitely will be, I'll do another golden dose on this pen but won't do more than that as I can do 5 doses within 30 days but any more than that would take me past the 30 day mark.

This was @taylorswift1989she can point you in the right direction as I have no idea 🤣

Oops 🙊

I’d really appreciate the info @taylorswift1989Just had a bit of a google and found a thing about the number of fat cells you had as a teenager staying with you for life (renewed on an ongoing basis) and thought that’s me buggered then 🥴

For anyone who will be finishing their 2.5mg pen and going up a dose on Friday, like me, I definitely recommend going to 3.75 before 5mg after my horrendous weekend on the toilet constantly losing 4 pounds since Friday in the process.. My own fault for taking around 1mg extra from the golden dose last Friday.

Oops @popdepop did you take your normal 2.5 plus the golden dose plus an extra 1mg 😱

I'm a Friday jabber 👍 golden dose this Fri then hopefully 3.75 from a 5mg pen next Fri

Edited

I took 2.5 then 1mg of golden, so 3.5mg on week 4 injection... 2.5 had worn off.

I wouldn’t recomend upping a dose before completing 4 weeks ….

i did 4 weeks on 2.5 with great losses first two weeks and battling through two weeks with 1lb losses (currently on w6 2nd on 5mg)

2.5 is not a therapeutical dose and it’s sole purpose is for your body to accept it so that you ready for 5mg

take your time MJ is not a quick fix , hope you feel better soon

thank you. Absolutely, lesson learnt, I didn't think it would have so much of an effect. I was going to go to 5mg on Friday but after this experience might just do 3.75

Flamethrowers · 14/04/2025 17:35

Hello does Asda do maintenance doses?
anyone know?

Amjam2025 · 14/04/2025 18:48

@EchoNova yes i know what you mean. I'm currently on 5mg (week 1 day 6 of 5mg). Good suppression the first few days and then Sat, Sun and today have been awful, I just want to eat everything!! I normally stick to 1200 kcals a day but think I've done about 1500 today 🤦‍♀️ . I'm trying to move jab day forwards to Thursday ready for my May holiday but at this rate I'll be going backwards!!

tryingtobesogood · 14/04/2025 18:52

I had my third 5mg jab last night and I can’t eat today. I made the mistake of having a home made smoothy this morning and was scared to burp all day in case it came back. I hope this wears off a little, I would class today as a full on fast, which I’m not happy about.

Christmashope19 · 14/04/2025 18:53

Week 4 day 1
doing ok have felt a bit up in down in terms of my moods this past 10 days
so far I have lost
week 1 4.2lbs
week 2 2.6lbs
week 3 1.8lbs
would have loved to have lost more however it’s slowly coming down
looking forward to getting out of the obese category
hope everyone has a good week x

Amjam2025 · 14/04/2025 19:09

@TheBossOfMe love your post!
Im definitely vertically challenged and don't carry excess weight well at all...i look like a beach ball when I'm at the top end of overweight bmi! I did get a bit disheartened when the loss stopped because I knew i was working damn hard to stay at my kcal limit but it eventually paid off do I've stopped whinging (for now!!)
I completely agree, weight loss jabs are defo not cheating, lots of determination end willpower required and even though you had a blip week last week it sounds like you're motivated to get back on it this week. I've read a lot of ppl saying that a few days off the wagon can help you restart decent weight loss again so hopefully that cheek tiny gain will quickly be forgotten over the next couple of weeks :)

seasidehunter · 14/04/2025 19:17

W6D1 here... still on 2.5mg for now.

SW - 12st 12lb (hit mid-Feb and was the point I decided enough was enough)
SW on MJ - 12st 8lb (early March)
CW - 11st 10.5lb
GW - 10st (mid-range BMI for 5ft 5in)

Was a bit disheartened last week when I only lost 0.5lb but its 2.5lb this week so I'm putting last week's blip down to being incredibly bloated by TOTM.

For now I'm appreciative of the effects wearing off as the week continues because it means I have more appetite to adequately fuel long runs at the weekends - marathon in 2 weeks - once that is done then I'll think about going up to 5mg.

When I look at my weight gain over the past 2.5 years I can see how each 'jump' has been as a reaction (both emotional comfort eating & loss of motivation to exercise) to a major life event - mainly bereavement. I've reached my first milestone - I am now at the weight I was last August before I got threatened with redundancy and then my dad died. For me the next milestone is to get back below the weight when my brother died in late 2023 and then back below the weight when my mum died in late 2022.

SmallSoupcon · 14/04/2025 19:24

I bought some sub-500 cal My Protein frozen meals to try this week, from Food Warehouse (Iceland), as I'm juggling work and kids this week. They've got a 3 for £10 offer so I thought I'd give them a try.

Honestly, pre-MJ I'd have been starving after eating one, as they're small portions, but I couldn't finish any!

I tried ginger and sesame chicken, hoisin beef noodles (both great). Unfortunately I came unstuck today after having the piri piri chicken and rice - clearly my digestion does not like chillies!

Well done @seasidehunter it sounds like you've been through such a lot. Very inspiring about the marathon, well done!

I'm week 6 as of tomorrow, but my jabs and weigh-in are now out of sync as I had my jab today. We shall see what tomorrow's scale brings, but as long as it's downwards I don't mind by how much. It's a marathon (ha ha) not a sprint 😉

Crikeyalmighty · 14/04/2025 19:41

@SmallSoupcon M&S have a few nice ‘high protein but sub 300 cal meals ‘ too in a new range - I had a pesto chicken one last week

Thanks @Crikeyalmighty I'll take a look at those. They're not ideal price-wise but I think it's worth keeping a few in the freezer. I haven't got the energy to meal prep!

Crikeyalmighty · 14/04/2025 21:07

@SmallSoupcon yep - I did one with a portion of kale and it was tasty

Guys what was that app you’re using to track MJ levels etc?

I found it 😜

Are you supposed to prime the pen every time you use it or just the first time? I do it every time but I’m not sure if you have to. What does everyone else do?

Yes, tap the pen where the liquid is and press the plunger in til you get a little liquid out of the needle. Needs to be every time as you’re attaching a new needle and need to ensure no air bubbles.

Oooooomph · 14/04/2025 00:54

Has anyone found themselves being less tolerant of certain things/people since starting Mounjaro?

I’m not out to start fights but I have found I am completely unwilling to accept some of the cheeky fuckery that I would have done in the past to keep the peace. I now have no problem calling someone out, no longer avoid confrontation, and am happy to say no to something I don’t want to do.

I’m not complaining but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this bonus side effect? (I’m taking my 2nd 5ml injection tomorrow) I definitely feel more powerful and in control of my life. Long may it continue! 😊

Yes. This. Not automatically stepping in to smooth over family disagreements or regulate other peoples emotions. I think my habit of doing those things gives me similar feelings of reward and safety that food provides. So this is an interesting, eye opening process. Also become obsessed/ more confident about looking after my body and going to the gym for the last month. For the first time in 56 years. Who even am I?
