New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

Personally I think it’s okay to have some treats - it's unrealistic to think you can cut them completely. If I were you, I'd focus on having sufficient meals during the day and then allow yourself the option of a small treat in the evening. If you're not actually hungry, the treat will be a genuine choice, and you might find yourself starting to not always want it.

Food is so difficult. I've been addicted to other things and gone cold turkey. But food is always always going to be part of my life, so learning how to stop addictive behaviours, binging and restricting, is really key, I think.

Magnesium helps me with sleeping. I take a combo with l-threonate, taurate, and glycinate. I also add l-theanine. I take l-theanine with my morning coffee, too. Since listening to Stacy Sims, I'm also adding a daily dose of creatine. She says it takes 3 weeks to really feel the effects, but one of the key benefits is better sleep.

I also find eating sugary things in the evening makes my sleep worse and I'm more likely to find it tricky to fall asleep.

But overall, it sounds like you're doing great! I might also ease in to 5mg by doing 3.75 first. I can imagine it could feel like a jump!

I think the difference is that active, slim people in the main (there will always be exceptions with amazing metabolism) don’t have treats everyday majority of the slim healthy women I know drink water out of habit, black coffee, drink alcohol rarely and when they do it is gin and slimline tonic or vodka/Diet Coke, never drink full sugar pop, and eat treat food eg ice cream/chocolate/pastries/bacon butties once a week (and only one of those not all of them).

I was an evening snacker and needed to fill the void left by eating junk sat in front of the tv. So I’ve started an evening skincare routine which can fill 45 minutes (double cleanse, shower, exfoliate, serum, hair oil, moisturise, plan outfit for the follow couple of days). Now the weather is nicer and brighter I may go for an evening walk in just cautious that I have zero plans of doing that in winter so don’t want to set up a habit that relies on the U.K. having decent weather!

Try a magnesium glycinate supplement for insomnia, make sure it’s glycinate as some of the other types are more for moving things along in the digestion department and we definitely don’t need that!
I like the Viridian Brand.

side note that magnesium is the only supplement that I take every day and that I recommend to everyone, it has changed my life tbh, I had awful anxiety and it’s helped so much, we don’t get enough if it in our food anymore as our soils are so depleted of minerals

It was glycine, this is the one I tried and didn’t notice anything 😫

Ah that’s rubbish, I haven’t tried that brand, I use Viridian Capsules.
I guess it’s the same as anything though it works differently on different people

They contain iodine which a lot of us are lacking, it contributes to healthy thyroid function. I noticed whenever I stopped taking ones with iodine in I had even worst fatigue that would knock me out for weeks at a time.

Another one here going up to 3.75 as but scared of 5mg 😂 I'll be hopefully doing th golden dose of my 2.5 pen on Fri then moving up the following Friday.

Re evening snacks I'm also an evening snacker once the DC are in bed I watch TV with a cup of tea and usually a pack of crisps and a chocolate bar although since being on MJ I'm trying to read rather than watch TV as then my hands are occupied and I don't feel I need the snacks as much. Still have the tea though 😂

Or I have something small like a snack pack of chocolate buttons...if you freeze them they last longer in your mouth 😂

I actually think the key difference is when people have never dieted or restricted food their whole life, their bodies seem to just naturally regulate themselves. They can eat intuitively without excluding any foods because their bodies are efficient at keeping the balance.

It's repeated dieting and food restriction that has messed up our bodies and so for me it's really key to try to get to a point where intuitive eating provides me with a balanced diet where I can maintain my weight. I think this is really, really hard. But MJ helps because it just puts some space into the process, reducing hunger and the sort of addictive panic that comes with it. It's so much easier to choose.

It will be a long, slow process but I'm really hoping MJ will keep working for me to give me time to settle into a new weight and learn to listen to what my body needs. (Which will sometimes be chocolate!)

I'm not envisaging being on MJ forever but I think at least a year past hitting my target weight. After two years the fat cells give up and shove up, but before that point they are still there, just shrunken, and they're still metabolically and hormonally active so being driven back into overeating and weight gain is a big risk and will be harder without MJ.

Yaay another one of us going up to 5mg around the same time! Defo agree about 3.75mg first week 🤣 I have a full dose left in my pen plus a little more so I might do that all on Monday before starting the 5mg pen.

There’s actually research proving our bodies crave sweet sugary things at that time of the day! I always wondered why my cravings were so much worse in the evenings. I used to hold out as long as I could then succumb by ordering loads of binge food on deliveroo 🙈🤣

Maybe we should all come here in the evening to occupy ourselves and have a good old chin wag 🤣

@CallMeStella I use these and can confidently say they've worked wonders for my sleep patterns

https://thesupplementstack.co.uk/products/the-supplement-stack-sleep

I’ve just found them on Amazon and will place an order 😝

I’m going to be rattling with all of the supplements I’m taking plus my normal prescription meds 🤣

GameOfJones · 14/04/2025 13:31

3.75mg seems to be working really well for me. Zero side effects and good suppression but I'm still able to eat, just reduced portion sizes. I've just had a ploughmans lunch at a garden centre with my mum and I ate about half of it, enjoyed it but then knew I was satisfied and didn't eat any more.

I would have cleared my plate previously as I'd have thought "I can't waste food" but read something yesterday that said eating food that your body doesn't need is still a waste, you're just using your body as the dustbin. It really struck a chord with me!

I'll see how the next few days go before I decide whether to move up to 5mg on Thursday or stick at 3.75mg

Tocktik · 14/04/2025 13:38

Looking to move from medexpress as they are expensive without referral credits (I have posted on the threads but not got any)

Do Zava offer maintenance for lower bmi?
I’m currently in the obese bmi but not far off moving to overweight and I don’t want to move pharmacies and they don’t offer the lower bmi maintenance (medexpress goes down to 25 bmi)

Bipaloss · 14/04/2025 14:03

Hi all and happy Monday ☺️

for those still on 2.5 and 3.75 scared of 5mg, let me share my experience . First week on 5MG the first 2.5 mg fullness and bloatiness was back and had very less kcals first 2-3 days, the suppression continued to jab day yesterday so 2-3 days longer than on 2.5 mg
took second 5mg jab yesterday and not as much bloatiness but food noise gone and able to eat but small portions ( a bit more than last week though)

the only SE I had was a bit of thirst last week, and nothing since yesterday . I had SE (nausea constipation and headache first 2 weeks on 2.5) I just wanted to share as I was scared of SE before moving up but it seems not all of us get it on 5mg (seen other posts on it too) so moving up dosnt mean that you get bad SE

also want to share a NSV my bra cup has a inch gap meaning I need to go down a bra size or two now (not really the place I wanted but il take it 😂)

MJMarch25 · 14/04/2025 14:33

Just done my 5th jab (used golden one) . Stuck at 2.5mg, but I was quite hungry last week, although we were overseas, so despite my best efforts I don’t think I was close to hitting my fibre and protein goals each day and calories were estimated, so I am going to start this week back on my normal cals/ macros and see how my hunger is.

i am unsure if the hunger last week was due to less protein/ fibre or needing to go up a dose. If needed I will microdose midweek to take me up to 3.75. Not brave enough to go straight to 5mg!

I did lose 1.5 lbs on holiday though which I was v pleased about.

I have bought the 5mg pen as it was the same price so figured it gives me more flexibility if needed to go up mid month

8.6 lbs off so far. 😃

I am trying to eat 1500 cals a day to keep weight loss steady and not too fast, but some days (bar last week!) it has been a real challenge to manage more than 1000 cals and I have been having to force myself to hit cal/ protein/ fibre goals (using team RH, but they have suggested 1700 cals a day on mounjaro for my weight/ height/ exercise levels but no way I can eat that much most days as I just haven’t been hungry)

looking forward to hitting the first stone off 🤞

Whereissummer24 · 14/04/2025 14:43

Hi ladies, also gone up to 3.75 today as too scared to go straight to 5! I have a couple of friends who started at the end of last year - they had bad side effects at 5 but are still 2 stone down on the 3.75 which is good to hear. I'm about 9 lbs down so far, its certainly not the easy win i was expecting and is making me seriously look at my eating habits etc. I've got 3 months until i go on holiday and i'd love to have hit a healthy bmi ( about another 2 stone down) but then but i've realized its unlikely but i'll be a whole heap further forward that if i'd never started ( That alone is a big leap!!) hope you all have a great week

Tocktik · 14/04/2025 14:44

Thank you, I do have a code which is why I was thinking of Zava in particular but can’t seem to find any info of what bmi they’ll go down to

Tocktik · 14/04/2025 14:44

How do you manage to do a 3.75 dose?

It's three quarters of a dose on a 5mg pen so you turn the pen for 45 clicks rather than the usual 60 (that takes you to the number 1 for a full dose).

Screamindreamin · 14/04/2025 14:58

Hi ladies, well done everyone, interesting reading those going up a dose now, be it 3 75 or up to 5, I'm staying on 2.5 I still have suppression and have not succumbed to evening snacks, I am hungry but not ravenous so that's good enough for me I have a 5 pen as well so we'll see how we go. Have been struggling with constipation again 🤢 chia seeds seem to be working alongside prunes, both are vile though imo 😂.
Into the 11s, 6 lbs off the 10s 🎉 keep going everyone.

Yes, i've listened to a few podcasts where they say you need to stay at target for at lest a year to try and reset your setpoint. A few of the American ones talk about microdosing for long term, i've turned into a GLP-1 podcast geek!

They don't. I've moved to Pharmulous in anticipation of maintenance. There's also Oushk and a few more.

Im currently on Week 5 day 6 today - due to take my 2nd 5mg injection tomorrow. And the hunger I'm experiencing today is hell - it's taking all my will power to not raid the cupboards at home. I'm only 1 week in to 5mg and already can't wait to move to 7.5mg. Did this happen to anyone else?

Fatmumslim01 · 14/04/2025 16:06

If you do 3.75 for a few doses would that mean there is more left in the oven for syringing out? As the pen holds 4 lots of 5mg plus a bit extra so if you are only doing 4 x 3.75 surely the plunger won't go down as much so there will be more left for potential golden doses (as long as still within 30 days?)
