New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

Yes. This. Not automatically stepping in to smooth over family disagreements or regulate other peoples emotions. I think my habit of doing those things gives me similar feelings of reward and safety that food provides. So this is an interesting, eye opening process. Also become obsessed/ more confident about looking after my body and going to the gym for the last month. For the first time in 56 years. Who even am I?

Now that is really interesting about the rewards.

I also have been taking much better care of myself - gym, proper exfoliating, moisturising, etc., all things I haven’t done in over 30 years. I am really happy with this unexpected side effect!

Anyone who wants a sweet treat with added protein, I highly recommend these pots. It’s like the muller ones but actually nicer. It’s a big serving and only 150ish calories for the whole thing.

@SmallSoupcon M&S have a few nice ‘high protein but sub 300 cal meals ‘ too in a new range - I had a pesto chicken one last week

Which range is that please? I haven’t spotted that one and sounds perfect.

I bought some sub-500 cal My Protein frozen meals to try this week, from Food Warehouse (Iceland), as I'm juggling work and kids this week. They've got a 3 for £10 offer so I thought I'd give them a try.

Honestly, pre-MJ I'd have been starving after eating one, as they're small portions, but I couldn't finish any!

I tried ginger and sesame chicken, hoisin beef noodles (both great). Unfortunately I came unstuck today after having the piri piri chicken and rice - clearly my digestion does not like chillies!

Everywhere seem to do them now, I saw some on Tesco for £2 each. They’ve brought out a whole selection of high protein items.

Ive been trying so many different high protein yogurts and I can safely say they’re awful. I had a blueberry Danone one today which was actually very nice! I don’t know how they justify the prices for these products though.

popdepop · 15/04/2025 03:49

Here I am up again for hours on the toilet. If I didn't wfh I would be off work sick. I'm lucky if I actually get to the toilet on time. Washing in now. I just want it to settle, into the 3rd day of it. 😪 I think I'll go back down to 2.5mg on Friday.

TryForSpring · 15/04/2025 06:46

@CallMeStella, I just buy 0% fat or 5% fat Greek style yoghurt and add some blueberries and a sprinkle of seeds/nuts.
It's 9g protein in 100g yoghurt.

Me too - cheaper and really tasty. Frozen berries even cheaper. Unsweetened nuts and seed granola lasts a long time too
my kids have been making some tik tok treats which are also good - a date with peanut butter inside it dipped in dem chocolate and frozen

SharpOpalNewt · 15/04/2025 07:16

Have eaten a lot more than I have been recently in the last three days, bit worrying as I have the most of the drug I've ever had in me at the moment, did third dose of 5mg on Saturday.

I think this happened week 3 of 2.5 also though - my body fights back! Have just ordered the 7.5mg pen, but have one more 5mg to go.

I like Skyr as it's not artifically high in protein- the ones with added protein are rank.

I should have the plain one really with a bit of grated vanilla pod, but love the vanilla one. With granola and berries it's like having fruit crumble and custard 😋

RuthEvershedforPM · 15/04/2025 07:41

6.9 kg down today …it’s so mad to have lost so much and still have 22kg to go!

would quite like a fast forward button. Am impatient 😂

GameOfJones · 15/04/2025 08:00

@popdepop that sounds awful! Can you pinpoint anything you're eating that is setting it off? Or do you think it's just a side effect? What dose are you on?

Hope you managed to get some sleep!

28Spring · 15/04/2025 08:29

Morning all, thought this was interesting and insightful about weight fluctuations (and helpful if the scales aren’t always showing what we want them to!) From a nurse prescriber on Insta who lost 80lbs on GLP-1 medication…

@RuthEvershedforPM - think of it this way, you're almost at 25% of your goal. That's brilliant in such a short space of time.

After a rubbish week last week, I've been tougher with myself over the last two days - plenty of lean protein, loads of fresh fruit and veg, complex carbs and no wine. Plus a heavy weights session on Sunday and a long for me run yesterday. That's reset the gain of last week - it's why I like to weigh daily because I see the very short term impacts of the choices I make, as well as the less short term trend and into longer term trend. Also goes to show how eating out a lot and drinking alcohol really, really impacts my weight - sometimes it's unavoidable because of work, but its reminding me not to pack too many social events out that involve food into a single week, especially if it's a week where I have a lot of work lunches/dinners.

Back on track now, feeling much better about it.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 7.2lb/133.2lb BMI 23.6 - 11.4lb down, 42.9% of target achieved. (Still overweight because of ethnicity)
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 15.2b to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain
W6 so far 1.1lb

it has been awful. I've lost 5 pounds since Friday. Probably mostly water. I took around 1mg extra from the golden dose on my week 4 injection as 2.5 has worn off, my own fault for trying this. No doubt that's done it. I've hardly eaten so doubt it's anything there. Considering that, I don't know where it all comes from!

Oh my god, this sounds awful. Have you thought about taking some Imodium, give you a chance to eat and keep something in.

I have 0 fat greek yogurt with muesli, nutmeg syrup and strawberries or blueberries for breakfast every day so I like to have a flavoured one later in the day if I fancy it. I don’t eat much meat/fish so I’m trying to include extra protein.

Next time I go shopping, I’ll have a look to see if they do any 0 fat flavoured Greek yogurt ☺️

Get some electrolytes because the loss of fluids will make you feel poorly very quickly.

Maybe don’t drop back down as you said 2.5 wasn’t working anymore, try splitting the dose next week so you don’t have such a peak in your system.

changed pharmacies today. Thanks folks for your info about this. Fifty quid cheaper and will prescribe up to 22/23 bmi and also maintain. I am already close to a 'normal' bmi but my stomach measurement is still out of proportion and clothes don't yet fit.

@Flamethrowers who were you with and who have you switched to?

I'm with Asda for my first month this month and am ordering another one from Asda today as need to collect by Friday but from next month I'll be hopefully switching each month until I get near a 30bmi then will try to settle with one provider, BMI currently over 38 so a lovely to go! It will be a hassle doing pics etc each month but It saves a lot of money!

I was also with Asha and have gone to the one beginning with 0 and with the introductory code it was 150 pounds including delivery and needles

That was super useful to watch and makes so much sense. Eating out last week was probably a lot of really salty food, plus the water retention that I always get from drinking wine (puffy wine face, anyone?). So absolutely logical that the gain last week was partly related to that, and the loss so far this week a mostly a loss of the water weight I gained.

I still like to weigh daily though :)

Yetanotherusername2000 · 15/04/2025 11:20

Was going up to 5mg pen today, but worried about sore stomach and off on holiday today, so have done 45 clicks and hopefully 3.75. Thanks everyone for the support here. So needed!!!

I think I’ll be in a similar maintenance position and was thinking oushk. Where are you moving to?

SmallSoupcon · 15/04/2025 11:30

Weigh day today. My mood has been at rock bottom for days now, not sure what to do, I feel awful. I have ADHD so I guess taking my dopamine fixes away is having a major effect.
I hope it improves soon, I'm making such progress with my weight loss. Reached my first stone today. That would normally give me a lift but not right now ☹️

Week 6 weigh-in
SW 14st 3lbs
CW 13st 2lbs
GW 11st

AddictedtoCrunchies · 15/04/2025 11:45

I took my first dose of 5mg Sunday after 5x 2.5mg. Yesterday was....interesting. Felt nauseous all day and not hungry at all. Ate around lunchtime. Stomach was a bit churny.

Went for a walk after work to get my steps and it didn't end well. 😳💩. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

Feel ok today but starting to think about just how long I'm going to do this. 💩 seems to be one extreme or the other and it's not pleasant. I do like the weight loss though. 13lbs down.

Lots to consider.
