New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

Also o take into consideration that as you are on the lower end of BMI that the weight loss might be smaller as a 1% of a twice as heavy person is much more than 1% of your weight as such I would focus more on the % towards your goal and by the looks you are doing amazing despite the odd big meals ☺️

That’s super helpful advice - great way to think about it. Thank you for making me feel less disheartened!

This section of Mumsnet has to be one of the nicest, kindest and most supportive places on the whole site :)

Just to let you all know, don’t take a dulcolax before bed, forget and then go out and have a frappacino.

Evening everyone, third weigh and I’ve lost -1lb. I’m happy with this, total loss so far is -17lb.
Wk 1 -12lb
Wk 2 -4lb
Wk 3 -1lb
I did my fourth 2.5mg jab yesterday, I’m not going to do the Golden Dose. I’ll be moving up to 5mg next week. Hoping to carry on with no side effects. Suppression has been great, and food noise is still zero. Good luck everyone.

popdepop · 12/04/2025 20:26

Well done @PS5Gamer
I took my 4th injection of 2.5mg yesterday, but also did the hard twist and did another 1mg. Supression today fantastic, I don't feel like eating at all so had a protein shake and salad. my mouth is very dry. I bought some chewing gum which helps and drinking lots of water tonight

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 12/04/2025 22:11

I’m really nervous for my weekly weigh in tomorrow morning. Last Sunday I’d lost 7lbs in my very first week! I’m hoping for a decent loss this week but I’ll not get my hopes up. This week (only my serving on the jab) has been interesting compared to my first week. Week 1 I was starving, had a headache and was really cold, this week I’ve been peckish (but still thinking about food and doing my best to ignore it), no headache thankfully and not quite as cold as I was last week!

Roll on Monday for jab 3!

@popdepop how do you know it was 1mg please if you did a hard twist not the syringe method?

A guess based on the amount of liquid I left! I know what 2.5 looks like from marker to marker, was just under half of that.. it's definitely done the trick

FrozenFractal · 13/04/2025 07:10

End of week 5 for me and boy is the higher dose working, after losing only 2lb in two weeks, I am down 3lb this week! My total loss is 13.6lb which is just a smidge off a whole stone. Mind blowing.

One new thing I introduced this week is electrolytes. Ordered a few different flavours of fizzy tabs from SIS (other brands are available). I feel better and it’s much nicer to drink than plain water.

Have friends staying for the start of the Easter holidays, went out for pizza and ice cream last night- 8 of us. I shared a pizza with my youngest (half and half toppings- I had lots of veggies on my side) and I DIDN’T GET ICE CREAM. I did get a good few licks of the youngest’s to “stop it dripping” 😉 And I did feel a bit of a party pooper being the only one not indulging in a holiday treat but at the end of the day I’m prioritising me now. Before I definitely would’ve put away a whole pizza to myself and probably multiple scoops of ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone. I was satisfied with my pizza I had and found the decision fairly easy to not get an ice cream (I was a tiny bit tempted but was able to quiet it). Another full day out with family and friends today so will see how it goes, I’ll be taking a picnic and snacks like babybel lights. Will also be getting a lot of steps in.

soupforbrains · 13/04/2025 07:32

I may have had a bit of a revelation about my side effects.

as I’ve documented in these threads a gazillion times I had violent vomiting the day after injecting every week for my whole first pen. So made the somewhat obvious decision to stay at 2.5mg but moved to splitting the dose into 2 half doses per week.

this improved things a lot and I ‘only’ had a little nausea and the stomach churning/ache but zero vomiting. Which felt like a miracle for me. I also found that on my Tuesday second jabs I had even fewer side effects.

I decided to take my next half dose a day early on Friday. Since the 3 day gap between sat and Tuesday worked well, why not another 3 days gap.

well. I think I have discovered that the side effects weren’t necessarily cause by the dose alone but by the ‘jump’ between the BIG drop off at the end of the week and then the full dose right after. These extremes were reduced by splitting the dose but then I reduced them more by keeping a consistent 3 days interval. I had absolutely zero SEs yesterday after jabbing on Friday.

im excited about this as it means that I probably can move up a dose on my next pen. For the rest of this pen I am going to inject every 3 days. Using the golden dose liquid I’ll be able to make up the ‘extra’ days. Then I’ll order a 5mg pen next time and I will very gradually increase my doses. And see how it goes.

Flamethrowers · 13/04/2025 07:42

weight in.
just had seventh injection of 2.5

sw: 73.6 (bmi 28 plus high cholesterol and a very big protruding stomach)
cw: 67.6 (bmi 25.6)
gw: 59 (bmi 22.5)
Lost: 6kg - nearly a stone, which seems a lot.

Suppression definitely waning on 5 but I also feel healthier and I don't have any side effects now so will stick with it

i have given up coffee (epic as I had around 12-16 espressos a day) and most alcohol (two glasses of wine in all this time) and dairy (feels too much). After forty years being a vegetarian I can't get enough chicken. 🍗

I think no dairy might be a large part of the reason I've stopped snoring.

doing exercise but still feeling a bit flabby and I think that might be because weight loss is too fast.

people haven't noticed yet but when I put my phone in my large trousers with an elasticated waist I now have to keep yanking them up - and one of my favourite summer dresses fits! Also my too tight running joggers keep slipping down...

good luck to everyone!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 13/04/2025 07:51

Morning all. Week 4 weigh in today, 2lb loss. Initially a bit disappointed but then looked at the total loss, 20lbs in 4 weeks!

Due to jab this evening, going to attempt 3.75 with the golden dose. I have a 5mg pen waiting.

Makes sense @soupforbrains I'm glad you've found a way that works for you.

@Flamethrowers Well done on your losses so far, and also the coffee! I was on about 8 cups a day and am down to 2 or 3 at a push. As for tge wine, drastically reduced from a far too high level of consumption.

Bipaloss · 13/04/2025 08:47

Morning all ,

weigh day and Jab day for me.

Week 5 completed and first week of 5mg

SW 115.0 Kg / 18.109 st
CW 109.1 Kg / 17.18 st
loss this week 1.9 Kg / 3.5 lb
total loss 5.9 Kg / 13 lb
GW 11-12 st

happy im down almost a st and that im back on track after two weeks of 1lb (0.4 & 0.6 kg) losses. A lot of the weigh loss is water weight due to TOM ending which is normal for me.

NSV starting to notice on clothes now which are now all very loose

fingers crossed I manage a full dose without leakage later today

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 13/04/2025 09:24

Morning all

Thank you to the poster that warned about sun exposure and MJ, I can confirm it’s a thing, I sat in the Sun on Friday and could actually feel my skin burning straight into the shade.

Is anyone also have much more period cramps since being on MJ honestly last month was awful with cramping and boy did my Boobs hurt, I can not remember a time that they hurt so much.

I am ordering this week another 5ml pen as the not being able to eat more than a few mouthfuls is still very real and if I went up to 7.5ml I think I would be nil by mouth. I am also upping the exercise this week, because as the weight is dropping off it’s not consistent in all the places if that makes sense. I have taken more photos still not brave enough to post them and I have lost a roll of back fat!

Also another NSV is I can shave my armpits a lot easier.

Morning!
End of wk4 and 14lbs lost, which I’m really pleased with. Decided to stick with 2.5mg for next month as mild SE and generally good suppression. I’m eating roughly 1200 calories and tracking but not to extremes. I don’t expect to lose anywhere near the same amount next month as wk1 was a large loss but if I can keep losing 1-2lbs a week that would be great.

Made my first mistake Friday night though, overeating and regretted that Fri night and yesterday… then had family meal out and negotiating portion sizes in public is tricky… goes to show how normalised over-large portions are. Got another family meal over Easter weekend so will need to make some good choices.

Delayed jab from yesterday as felt delicate and wanted my bowels to catch up 😆 will do it later.

Great to hear everyone’s progress this week - surrounded by chocolate, hang in there all!

That's interesting about sun sensitivity. Lycopene from cooked tomatoes can really help with that. I remember it from a health programme years ago. A tablespoon of tomato puree a day can really help reduce your sun sensitivity.

Hi All. I fell off the thread while recovering from a bad cold so just catching up now. I just moved up to 5mg yesterday, as last week on 3.75mg I barely had any suppression and the food noise was back. I’m good with my weight loss overall but the last three weeks I have lost very little so want to pick up the pace a little.

SW: 18st 7lbs
CW: 17st 7lbs
GW: 10st 7lbs
Total Loss: 1st
Weekly Loss: 3.7 / 4 / 4.4 / 0.4 / 1.6 / 0.4
