New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

That's interesting about sun sensitivity. Lycopene from cooked tomatoes can really help with that. I remember it from a health programme years ago. A tablespoon of tomato puree a day can really help reduce your sun sensitivity.

Thanks I will try and do that, but I also burn quite easily thanks to being very pale sometimes even translucent. Once I have a base I do go tanned.

My daughters are both very blonde and pale but they tan very easily. I blame my Irish genes.

I’m getting emails asking me to reorder (Asda) but I won’t be starting my second pen (going up to 5) til Tuesday. I’m hoping it is okay to ignore the emails for a week because I want to decide what dose to reorder? They won’t take me off the books?

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 13/04/2025 10:07

I’d forgotten that I first weighed myself on the day I bought my scales! I just clicked something on my scales app and it showed me the full graph of weight loss.
25th March - 19st 11.5lbs
30th March - 19st 9.4lbs
6th April - 19st 2.1lbs
13th April - 18st 10.6lbs

Total loss - 1st 0.9lbs 😁😁😁

I switched from Asda as they are expensive.i hot the same emails and because it was last minute, they then sent me a discount code to reorder for 10% off. To bear in mind if you want to stay with them!

Morning all

Thank you to the poster that warned about sun exposure and MJ, I can confirm it’s a thing, I sat in the Sun on Friday and could actually feel my skin burning straight into the shade.

Is anyone also have much more period cramps since being on MJ honestly last month was awful with cramping and boy did my Boobs hurt, I can not remember a time that they hurt so much.

I am ordering this week another 5ml pen as the not being able to eat more than a few mouthfuls is still very real and if I went up to 7.5ml I think I would be nil by mouth. I am also upping the exercise this week, because as the weight is dropping off it’s not consistent in all the places if that makes sense. I have taken more photos still not brave enough to post them and I have lost a roll of back fat!

Also another NSV is I can shave my armpits a lot easier.

I was wondering about the sun, we were out all day last sunday/Monday. I have a slight rash/itch on my arms, was putting it down to the manky log flume water but might just as well have been the sun exposure. Also, I'd not had a period for 8 months, but had one since starting MJ. Fabulous. Not.

popdepop · 13/04/2025 10:29

I've had an awful night with diahorrea all night multiple times. The type where you don't make the toilet in time 😩
Stomach cramps and sulphur burbs. Awful. Therefore I'm just getting up now. I didnt eat much yesterday and had high supression so I must have been blocked up. Going to get calories via some shakes today.
Hooe everyone has a good day!

ThisCosyDeer · 13/04/2025 10:50

Getting a bit disheartened. Week 1 was great. I actually started believing that this could work. The weight fell off almost scarily quickly. Slowed down toward the end of the week and actually regained a kilo before weighing day. Since then though, weight loss has completely stalled and I just lose and regain the same kilo.

I don't remember seeing anyone with this same pattern. Any similar experiences? I'm beginning to worry this won't work for me.

SW: 118.4kg / 18s 9lb
Wk1: 115.1kg / 18s 2lb
Wk2: 114.1kg / 17s 17lb
Wk3: 115.1kg / 18s 2lb

On the plus side, no major side effects although my last period was very crampy and painful for the first time.

Do remember you are still only on the base level where it’s common not to lose weight as your body adjusts to the medication. Plus have you changed what you eat as well, I use WW to help me manage my eating and the injections make it easier to follow their plan.

So I guess I’m saying it’s early days, the MJ will build up in your system and you may need to be more thoughtful about what you eat. I know if I eat rubbish my weight loss slows down.

SpunkyKhakiScroller · 13/04/2025 11:13

Third week done and though the weight is coming off, it's slowed down a lot. I'm beginning to think I should have gone for a 5ml for the next one instead of a 2.5.

SW: 106.6kg / 16s 11lb
Wk1: 103.4kg / 16s 4lb
Wk2: 103.2kg / 16s 3.5lb
Wk3: 102.5kg / 16s 2lb

I was really hoping to go under 100kg by my birthday at the end of the month but it's looking unlikely. Still 4kg in 3 weeks is nothing to sniff at and I am prepared for the long haul.

Overhaul54 · 13/04/2025 11:22

on week 8 - 4 at 2.5 and 4 on 5ml

Ny friend ordered with my referral code but nothing showed up my end which us bloody annoying.
I am sticking with 5ml.
i am eating and drinking loads though ( I’m away) so feeling FAT.

@popdepop @Yetanotherusername2000 I'm also with Asda and keep getting the emails. There should be a button at the bottom that says remind me in a week, which I did.

I really hope I get a 10percent off voucher as it's been a month since my order and 10percent would be £18 off!

I’m with Asda too and they start sending reminders two weeks after last order and then keep sending reminders to order two weeks before the next pen is due.

you can ignore the emails I did when ordering this pen as I wasn’t sure until end of week 3

my 5mg pen was ready 3 days after order so no need of panick (although I read there is shortage of higher doses so it’s worth keeping an eye out when moving up if dispatch times are longer)

GameOfJones · 13/04/2025 12:46

Hi all, I'm a bit anxious at the moment. I ordered my third pen on Friday but they dispatched it way more quickly than usual, on the same day and Royal Mail tried to deliver it yesterday! We were away so I've asked for it to be redelivered tomorrow but that means it will have been dispatched on Friday and delivered on Monday. I'm worried about it not being cold enough, despite being packed with an ice pack. Has anyone had anything similar happen? I'll get it in the fridge straight away tomorrow but I actually don't need to use the pen for another few weeks. I was trying to be prepared early but it's backfired 🙈

Oh no @GameOfJones which provider are you with?

I am with Asda but am thinking of switching to oushk and I emailed oushk to ask about Easter delivery and they said their icepacks are fine for 72 hours if that helps?

taylorswift1989 · 13/04/2025 15:02

I'm sure it'll be fine. The icepack will keep it cold enough until it gets to you.

GameOfJones · 13/04/2025 16:04

Thanks both. I'm with Phlo but from a quick Google it looks like most seem to say the ice packs cover delivery of up to 72 hours so hopefully it should be ok! 🤞🏻

@soupforbrains thank you for your message and apologies only responding now; been quite a week! So my side effects were both positive (appetite suppression and lack of food noise) and negative; lethargy, nausea, insomnia…so I tried doing 1/2 dose (I’m on 2.5mg so did 30 clicks) and what a week!! My food noise came back with a vengeance, I gained 2lbs and I felt like I was my pre-MJ self so clearly not the right dose for me!! But a good learning curve nonetheless!
So, tomorrow I shall start my new pen, do a full 2.5mg dose and hopefully lose 1-2lbs this week.. I definitely need to start doing some weights as currently I’m just walking lots but my body is starting to look a bit ‘loose skin’ ish!
NSV: I bought some new jeans from M&S about 6 weeks ago just before I started MJ and they’re now on my pile to upload to Vinted as they’re much too big!! Wahey!!!
Thank you everyone for all your posts, I really feel like part of a community here which I really need as nobody else knows I’m on this journey..people keep mentioning “skinny jabs” to me like it’s a cheats way out but actually, as I’m realising now and as all of you know, we are just wired differently and we can’t compare ourselves to people that have literally never experienced “food noise” they just don’t get it!! Since I was a child I’ve been an emotional eater, and this drug has freed me from that; I was feeling stressed about something the other day and I marched to the fridge, flung open the door and instead of my usual response of shoving something in my face to calm me down, I just looked up and down the shelves of the fridge and thought “nah, you’re not worth it! Nothing i see here I want to eat” which is literally life changing for me. Sorry for that ramble just wanted to share! Xxx

Pipsballoon · 13/04/2025 19:23

@Flamethrowers I'm sure dairy is a large contributor to snoring. I track mine carefully, as I have recently been diagnosed with sleep apnoea, snoring is gradually improving, but is still definitely worse when I eat diary, particularly later in the day.

SmallSoupcon · 13/04/2025 21:34

Disappointed 😔
I've just given into an evening munchies attack which hasn't happened since I started Mounjaro. I'd eaten really well today too!

It's jab day tomorrow. I've done 5 on 2.5mg up until now. I might increase a bit tomorrow, it's a 2.5 pen but I can always increase now and order my 5mg pen a little sooner.

soupforbrains · 13/04/2025 21:44

@befairazuresealyou posted on the ‘old’ thread for this group so I’m tagging you in this one which is the current one.

I am taking collagen. I had done some research and found academic papers which said that liquid collagen is absorbed into the body much better than other forms so I was originally taking some liquid collagen shots which I got from Amazon. However they were absolutely vile and also really expensive so now I’m just taking collagen capsules which I got from the health and fitness aisle in Sainsburys so I’m pretty sure you can get them everywhere. I am also using a collagen cream on the areas which I’m most concerned about in terms of loose skin (thighs and belly mainly). Hope this helps.

Awww I’m sure it was a small slip. I eat more on day 6-7 and also had a munchies a couple of times but learning when it happens to have little but not all.

I have learned that due to the very limited calories I take in beginning of the week, the body has a couple of times compensated towards end of the week , I try to teach myself the feeling so that I don’t fall into it when the dose wears off by allowing small treats but in very low amounts and that is ok (mine was a chocolate croissant for breakfast today )

we are only a few weeks in and our habits haven’t change but they hopefully will over time ☺️

tryingtobesogood · 13/04/2025 22:17

I agree with it only being a few weeks. I still have a lot to unlearn and habits to change. I had a treat on Friday but it led to some unhealthy choices later in the day so I will reconsider that in the future.

I didn’t lose this week, even though I did everything I should and stayed well within my WW points. I know I am slimmer from my clothes but the scales aren’t showing it. But I know from the past that this happens, I’ll lose steadily for 4-5 weeks, then stall.

Often in the past I give up at this point, thinking what’s the point, but not this time. I’m going to carry on, keep eating well, moving more and using the jabs to help me feel less stressed. I’m sure the weight loss will catch up.

Thanks {mention:Bipaloss}@Bipaloss my pre-MJ overeating was mostly ADHD dopamine-seeking behaviour. I'd been thinking MJ was a miracle because of the way it's been able to control my urges - willpower and new habits don't really come into it, iyswim.
But I need to get it in perspective. It's only 1 blip in 5 weeks. I'll get over it!
