New thread as I am sure we will fill thread 2 up by the end of today!

Welcome back everyone and well done for all the losses. Some have 5-6 stone to lose, some have 2 stone and me I have put 4 stone but looking at the BMI chart I could lose 6 stone and still be in the healthy range.

@taylorswift1989 5mg has made a big difference for me. Almost no side effects and I feel in control of food. I feel much better on it than I did on 2.5mg and am hopeful the weight loss will continue. I was worried that I was only losing because I felt too rubbish from the side effects.

I also seem to have more energy and have started a proper exercise regime so am expecting to tone up and get stronger.

That's great to hear - very encouraging!

Just a quick update from me.

I’ve been trying my best but not seeing great results!

I’m week 4 day 5 and have lost 4.4kg / 9lbs.

SW 70kg
CW 65.6kg
GW 50kg

It’s odd, my calories are drastically down and I’m trying my best to stay hydrated, but seeing nothing like some of the dramatic weight losses that others are having. It seems to be slow and steady.

I’ve opted to stay at the 2.5mg mark for another month, that may have been a mistake, time will tell!

Am going to try to do the golden dose on Thursday.

Thanks everyone for all the posts, I really enjoy reading about everyone else’s journeys!

That’s a great loss and similar to me at 4.7 kg at 4 weeks completed. Now on my 5th week.

I had good losses w1-2 but it slowed w3-4 with 0.9 kg loss. 5mg is much stronger (although I had “technical issues so didn’t have a full dose)

you should expect around 1% weigh loss a week any more than that is not healthy

also the first few weeks is mainly water weight too…

when reading people who lost 10-15 kg (2st) in 5-6 weeks I would not hang up on that too much as most of us have lost a lot less ☺️

@taylorswift1989 and @CallMeStella - I m also plodding slowly and lacking suppression and lose (and side effects).

I did my 4th jab this morning and I have lost a mere 4.5lbs in total and I’ve been bloody hungry. I have ditched breakfast unless I can’t stand the hunger in which case I’ve had eggs but am essentially on omelettes or soup. Have ordered 5mg and am hoping very much that it all kicks in soon. Otherwise I’m a couple of hundred quid down and still in the fat jeans!

@PoundsLost@taylorswift1989

It is a lot of money yes, but it’s only early days, we’re still on the ‘introductory’ dose and it affects everyone differently. Try not to lose hope 🙏🏼 we’ve had 0 side effects which is something to be thankful for so hopefully when we move up to 5mg it’ll be an easier ride and we’ll start to notice benefits.

I’m glad we’re all in the same boat and at least we can support eachother ❤️ I’m on W3, and I’ll have enough for 2 more full doses before moving up to 5mg.

It’s only been under month, keep those chins up 😜

I read and watched video’s of people mentioning also that best time to take the jab is evening as it takes the jab 8hours to 16 hours to reach full affect and then looses 50% of the “value” after 4 days.

I injected first jab in evening solely for the reason that I could sleep though any SE but have noticed that the strongest suppression is in the morning after jab and thought out that day it then slowly goes away on day 5 (from morning)

only mentioning as it might be worth trying jab evening to see if it makes a difference

having said that I barely had any suppression w3-4 except a day or two

Choirgirl699 · 08/04/2025 20:42

Oh, hello food noise, it's been a while! After a bit of boredom eating yesterday and, luckily not going over my calories, I've noticed I've thought about food more today. Have eaten 1550 calories instead 1400 so not the end of the world. Firmly ignoring the voice now.

I need to move my jab day ahead of a holiday next month so I intend to jab Thursday am I stead of Saturday and try 3.75mg. Will still weigh on Saturday.

IngoGreen · 08/04/2025 21:12

Reading through everyone’s posts and really appreciate all the information sharing and support. We’re on the way.

Just reading Bryan Johnson, the ‘Don’t Die’ guy, who has been treating his body as an experiment in longevity. He has started taking micro dose of MJ due to wider benefits. He talks about sleep being so important and I am feeling good about much better sleep with MJ. Now think maybe I had undiagnosed sleep apnoea or was heading that way.

popdepop · 08/04/2025 21:28

W3D5 really looking forward to moving up to 5mg. Have another 2.5mg to take Friday. NSV I have lost 5 inches off my waist!

GameOfJones · 08/04/2025 21:33

@IngoGreen sleep is so important. I think everything else hinges off a good night's sleep for me. If I've slept well, I find it much easier to make good food choices, or exercise etc.

I've really tried to improve my sleep hygiene over the past few years after I battled insomnia during the covid pandemic but even then Mounjaro has improved my sleep no end. I'm more tired in the evenings but I'm also sleeping more deeply. I've decided to view getting an early night as an act of self care!

You're right! Good to keep positive and optimistic. Just keep seeing talking about how 2.5mg has been life changing, but I guess they've been lucky and most of us will need to go up doses.

Which dose was you on when you didn’t have any suppression on W3 & 4?

Yes but it all depends on the amount of receptors we have and how our body responds to the medication. I want this to be a permanent change and if that means it’s a slow process, I’m ok with that. I haven’t seen anyone say that they have no reaction to the higher doses, it seems to be the lowest doses only.

Also it’s only been a couple weeks, most likely we will need to be on this for up to a year, possibly longer term for maintenance.

Be patient and good things will come 🙏🏼

HuskyNew · 08/04/2025 22:53

Hello all, sorry haven’t posted much.

I’ve just done my 5th jab. Did a hard twist on the pen and got a full dose out so very happy with that. I do have a second 2.5 pen sat hidden in the fridge but it can wait a week.

I’ve lost 3.5kg in 4 weeks. Pretty happy with that as it’s been easy & minimal side effects (mostly cold hands). I find myself forgetting all about it mid week but also just not thinking about food that much. The week flies by. I know it’s slow but it’s more than I’ve ever lost before so happy to just keep going. I could go up the doses but don’t fancy risking side effects if I don’t need to, will see how the next month goes.

I do need to up my steps & exercise. That’s this weeks target & should be easier as have some time off work

2.5 was very hard two weeks as had 0 side affects absolute no fullness and only a day of suppression and went up to 5mg (although didn’t take full dose due to technical issues during administration) and the week one 2.5 effect was back with the 9 month pregnant fullness and 100% suppression ( had a babybel all day yesterday as couldn’t get anything in , despite opening fridge several times ! but two small meals today) Got maybe 3-4mg dose . 0 side effects this week but may come when I do the hopefully full dose at weekend.

Wow a babybell all day! I really don’t want that kind of response 🙈 I have enough health issues to deal with day to day, I don’t want any more 🤣

You must be a good responder to initial doses, hopefully you don’t have to keep increasing the dose though 🙏🏼

I’ll order my 5mg pen soon so I’m ready but undecided whether to just go for it or do a week at 3.75

Wouldratherbewatchingmafs · 09/04/2025 06:05

Hello lovely people!
Another week done and this week just over 1lb lost. I'm actually very happy to see a bit of stabilisation as the previous few weeks I've been losing between 3 and 5lbs, so this feels nice and steady. It also brought up 5.5 stone total lost since March 2024 Star

SW March 2024 - 18 stone 10lbs (BMI 41)
SW March 2025 (MJ starts) - 14 stone 4.5lbs
CW - 13 stone 3lbs (BMI 29)

Would love to get into the 12 stone bracket in the next few weeks :)
I'm still using 2.5mg dose even though I've got the 5mg pen. Suppression still good so I don't want to move up till I feel I need to!

Have a great week all Xxx

GameOfJones · 09/04/2025 07:22

I have just weighed, a couple of days early as I'm on holiday from tomorrow and have also lost 1lb so 1 stone down in 5 weeks.

SW: 14st
CW: 13st
GW: under 11st

I am feeling no different in terms of suppression or side effects (ie not much of either) after my 3mg dose so I will do 3.75mg this week just because I'm away from home so don't want to risk side effects but then will go up to 5mg next week.

Van34 · 09/04/2025 07:53

Feeling a bit disappointed. I had been doing well over the last 4 weeks but this week I have stalled. Weighed in Saturday at 225.2lb and have slowly crept back up to 225.6lb over the last few days and stabilised there. It's been TOTM and my first period for 10 years which I am hoping has thrown it all out of sync. That started Friday and has all but finished now. This isn't something I've ever had to deal with when losing weight... is this nornal? Shouldn't it have started to come back down again now? I have my 5mg pen in the fridge and was going to jab a day early as I need to move my Jab day for a medical procedure. I'm so tempted to jab 2 days early. But then next week will have to be 8 days.

EchoNova · 09/04/2025 08:30

Morning all,

@Van34 The TOTM will definitely affect the scales - I also put on about 2lb round that time each month but go back to normal over the week after my totm ends. Also weight does really fluctuate a lot depending on water, what you have eaten etc I had put on 1.5 lbs over the course of just 1 day yesterday Don't be disheartened, you are doing great.

Took my first injection yesterday with the 5mg pen (after 4 weeks on 2.5mg). I'm kind of thinking I might have jumped the gun ordering the 5mg as I had a small loss week 3 (when I ordered it) but week 4 I lost 4lb which I'm really happy with. So far no side effects on the 5mg - just a bit of a headache which I also had on the 2.5mg. I was starving yesterday but always find the supression takes a couple of days to fully kick in.

SW: 13st 7lbs
CW: 12st 8 lbs
GW: 10st 3lbs

Week 1: -5lb
Week 2: -3lb
Week 3: -1lb
Week 4: -4lb
Total loss : 13lbs

SmallSoupcon · 09/04/2025 08:45

Wk 5 d3 here, haven't had a chance to update since taking the first jab of my new pen on Monday. I tried the golden dose, but there was only 0.4ml when I extracted it, so I discarded and went for the new pen instead, so I could get a whole dose (I'm doing 2.5 for another month as I've been getting good suppression).

I only lost 1lb this week, but I know weight loss is never a smooth curve downwards. I also had lots of life crap happen over the past couple of weeks and haven't had the energy to organise my food properly. Going to reset myself today and do some meal prep.

One thing I've surprised myself with is exercise. I found a 15min strength yoga YouTube I'm doing every other day, and I'm doing a few strength exercises throughout the day, like when I'm waiting for the kettle to boil. Really starting to notice I can do more with the kids, get up more easily off the floor, walk further for longer etc. It's great!

SW: 14st3
CW: 13st5
GW: 11st

Losses so far:
End of Wk1 6lb
Wk2 1lb
Wk3 4lb
Wk4 1lb

Average 3lbs a week. I'm pleased with that!

northernlight20 · 09/04/2025 08:58

Morning all, just done my 6th injection, first one of 5mg and weigh day.
sw 114.4kg
cw 107kg
i can’t believe it myself and have to pinch myself. No se here at all, let’s see what 5mg brings. Hope u all have a good day.

soupforbrains · 09/04/2025 09:19

@28Springsorry I missed your post. What sort of side effects are you experiencing and are they mostly in the 24-48 hours after injecting? Or are they week long? As someone mentioned I was having absolutely horrendous side effects. (Explosive D and violent vomiting as well as headaches, heartburn nausea and indigestion) for me, the side effects were always entirely focussed on the day immediately after I injected. I.e. I inject on a Saturday morning, so on Sundays I would feel horrendous all day and then in the evening/night be extremely ill. But for the rest of the week I was ok.

based on that experience I figured that the ‘peak’ of the dose was what was triggering me. So i bought some additional needle tips for the pen (from ukmedi they are the same ones sold of insulin pens) and have been giving myself a half dose on Saturdays and a half dose on Tuesdays. This has worked brilliantly for me. I still get the suppression and the full dose in the week but without the side effects. Full disclosure I do burp more day after injection but they’re not sulfur burps but the other side effects have either completely disappeared (D&V,nausea, headaches) or significantly reduced (indigestion). If your pattern of side effects is similar than I would highly recommend switching to micro dosing.

LOVING seeing everyone’s NSVs. I’ve had one myself this week. For background I have a VERY substantial bust (was there before I gained weight so I don’t imagine it’s particularly likely to go anywhere) but in the last couple of years I have developed a huge belly. (Previously always carried all my weight on my bum and thighs). Anyway, the other day I was stood doing something and I looked down and I thought “Christ! Are my boobs getting bigger?” And stood looking down at them for a few minutes contemplating before I realised that no they are not, BUT my belly has shrunk so that it is no longer sticking out beyond my boobs and thus was not visible in my top down view. So gradual reduction of the belly barrel (and hopefully a return to my former hourglass figure) is underway!

My MJ journey is coming to an end I've decided. I've found the side effects, although very slight, are affecting me for 2/3 days after jabbing and I'm finding it difficult to give my all to my toddler and work on those days. It's not fair on the little one. Some days she is asking "are you okay mummy?" My DH has also noticed my mood has decreased. Nothing to do with food as I have always ate healthy just struggled to shift some weight. He says I seem depressed. I definitely don't feel myself on MJ and I've decided it's not for me. It's obviously different for everyone, and good luck to you all. You have had some great weight losses and hope it continues for you all!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 09/04/2025 10:32

Morning all,

Wk 4 day 4 for me (although jabbed a day late) had suffered a little bit with constipation after several days of not eating well (less fruit and veg, more low vlcsl carby snacks)and not drinking enough but a couple of days of better eating has sorted that out for me.

I have the 5mg pen in the fridge, plus syringes for the golden dose from the 2.5 pen. As yet undecided on what dosage to go for actually. I've had excellent losses so far, and although perfectly normal for it to slow down, I felt disappointed this morning that I'd stayed the same since Sunday.

Sounds like the right decision. It can be a slog getting through a normal day feeling tired cold and a bit sick. Its not a magic bullet.

I realise it sounds like you’ve already made a decision but before you completely throw in the towel have you considered dropping down to a very low dose? I went all in for this as I’d reached a tipping point with my weight, ordered it, did a bit of research, saw so many people with massive successes and just went for it on the evening it arrived. I’d been so scared of the side effects as I’m super sensitive to any medication. But still went for it as I thought “oh it’s a low dose”
Went to bed, got up the next morning, felt fine, had some Weetabix and went out for a walk. When I returned I had the most tender shoulders and neck I think I’d ever experienced. The pain was that bad I felt like I’d been beaten. I then realised that it went all the way around my neck - my glands were swollen. I have to say I was terrified. I went in to super Google mode as it was Saturday (I’ve also not told anyone I’m doing this so didn’t want any trips to A&E) Thankfully lots of posts on here saying the same. Numan were no help at all and just gave me a blanket disclaimer.
Thankfully that waned, tailed off with a sore throat and was replaced by nausea, feeling absolutely CBA with anything and I had to have 2 days off work. I felt so guilty I’d effectively poisoned myself.
I then set about loads of research on micro dosing and became very aware that 2.5mg for some people is too much. I downloaded Shotsy and started to map the sweet spot of no SEs and good suppression. I mapped this at 1mg and worse SEs at 2mg. So I made the decision to take 0.5mg once the first dose half life had dropped to a level where I felt myself but wasn’t hungry. I’d calculated that would top me back up to the 1mg. I was so nervous it would all happen again. But it didn’t. All I experienced was the suppression. So I’m now keeping an eye on the curve on Shotsy and dosing to 1mg total blood volume (estimated) and keeping an eye on my hunger. I’ve not weighed in yet but what I like is the quiet mind and not having to be beholden to food.
