Mounjaro April 2025 Starters

1000 replies

OpheliaABC · 26/03/2025 19:28

Anyone else starting soon/in April? I've seen there has been lots of threads for new starters for the previous months which looked helpful so I'm starting one too.

Starting weight: 98kg
Goal weight: 75kg

I will be starting either at the end of this week or early next.

I have a huge appetite, lots of cravings for junk food, and I'm hoping to get my portion sizes under control. Three members in my immediate family have now been diagnosed with diabetes and I'd rather not join them.

I'm having full blood work done in a few days to make sure I don't have deficiencies, thyroid problems or overly high blood glucose levels. Trying to give myself a full health MOT but I love my food so it won't be an easy ride. I can only hope this works for me and that my portion sizes will be halved without going hungry as I've seen happen to some people.

Welcome, if you are joining me! 😊

I had a Quick Look for a discount code but couldn’t find one..damn!

oh well it’s done now. Having just ordered it has seemed to curb my appetite a bit as there is hope, I’ll save the money there

MrsCastle · 30/03/2025 11:54

Don’t know - I just read loads in lots of reviews about hira malik the main prescriber doing stuff on FB. Will have a look

PearlFatball · 30/03/2025 11:56

Checking in. Started with 2.5 mg on Friday night.
SW 86.4 kg
GW 57 kg
Height 163 cm

Have had issues conceiving so decided to give MJ a go for a bit and then try again. 35 so the biological clock is ticking unfortunately.

MrsCastle · 30/03/2025 11:57

Looks like she does live Q and A sessions - people mentioned them and how proactive she seems to help

The Oushk code I found on monj.co.uk.

Hi, I've just ordered my first pen, so I will be starting as soon as it arrives, I'd love support as I know it will not all be smooth sailing. I am 18 stone and for healthy bmi need to get to 10st, but honestly ill take what I can get, I have a herniated disc in my back, osteoarthritis all over the place and I would love to get my mobility back and not cause further damage to my joints.

You sound exactly like me! I’ve six herniated discs plus autoimmune conditions x3 and I’ve lots to lose
i started last Tuesday and I’ve eaten so so much less than I would and have felt absolutely fine
good luck you won’t regret it

I have a discount code of £40 pounds off of you want it next time

Mounraine · 30/03/2025 10:00

How much did everyone’s first pen cost? Mine was £112 (including a discount code and p&p).

£106 including delivery. That's with PillSorted (£50 off first order - there will be £20 off subsequent orders).

Day 2 here!

I definitely don't have that NEED.FOOD.NOW feeling which I'd previously have pretty much as soon as I woke up.

Whether that's a placebo effect or not, I'm happy with that.

Happy Mother's Day everyone! 💐

@NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoByi’ve got thyroid issues and am on levothyroxine. Being on MJ has made such a difference. I’ve actually not eaten much less than before but the wait has come off quickly. The impact was really quick, I went from cold to very hot almost overnight as my metabolism sped up. I’ve had to reduce my levothyroxine dose as I was over medicated either due to MJ and/or my weight loss. I’ve been on 16 weeks and have lost over 3 stone and am back in healthy BMI. I hope it works as well for you 😀

Queenelsarules · 30/03/2025 12:47

Thanks @lovemycbf, that's reassuring that you are having no symptoms so far.

Queenelsarules · 30/03/2025 12:49

Are you all tracking calories everyday? I'm worried about getting into that as it can become a bit of an obsession and feel overwhelming at the same time.

Will it work on a second order?

I haven’t started yet but I don’t plan to count calories, that has always led to unhealthy behaviours with me in the past. I am focusing on eating as nutritiously as possible and exer portion control but not being overly restrictive because otherwise I will be more likely to put the weight back on (know this from past experience of losing 22kg through strict CC and then regaining it all).

Hmm I’m not sure but it would definitely work if it was your first order at MedExpress

I'm not and won't be doing so. I think I'd feel that I will never be able to relax. I'm hoping to just naturally start to choose healthier options and smaller portions.

I'm using NutraCheck to keep an eye on my macros rather than worrying about calorie-counting. I've been focused on eating fibre and got that pretty much sorted, but more recently I've been looking at my protein. In just a few days I've learned that I am really eating too much salt (which I didn't realise).

2025health · 30/03/2025 15:40

So … first 24 hours almost in the bag. No side effects yet, perhaps a glimmer of nausea when I woke up and had an empty stomach. I had two eggs on a slice of sourdough this morning which I managed easily but, I noticed that I ate the eggs and then read something on my phone and remembered I hadn’t eaten the toast yet (then ate it) which is definitely different. Normally I would concentrate on the food before anything else.

Also just cooked a roast, I noticed when I was sat down that I hadn’t polished off 2 roast potatoes (to ‘check they were cooked’) while cooking like I normally would and had a smaller portion than usual… I wouldn’t say I’m feeling suppression yet but I do feel different… quieter in my head

Doidontimmm · 30/03/2025 16:38

@2025health you have nailed how I feel - quieter in my head.

SookyLaLa13 · 30/03/2025 20:47

Hi. I am strongly considering starting Mounjaro but am but am concerned about the price.
Thanks to my search history my Facebook feed is full of ads. I also have seen lists of discount codes.
How does it work with discount codes - do I need a new one every month?
Is it easy to change supplier every few months to get the best deal?

JMSA · 30/03/2025 21:07

I’m really interested in reading everyone’s contributions. Thank you all Smile
I’ve seen a couple of people mention sourdough. I take it that’s the best (least carby?) bread for this.
Also, I’m off to google ‘macros!’ Grin

friendlycat · 30/03/2025 21:35

I’ve decided I’m going for it after the Easter holidays as I’m going to Spain for two weeks and don’t think now is the time to start.

It’s really been helpful reading on here about it all generally so thank you to everyone who’s helped.

I started Tuesday and didn’t think it was really working, but I have noticed the last 2 days although I still want the food (including bad food), I want less of it. I’m hoping it will continue to get better. Might take me to the 5 before it works fully. My friend has worked from day one to the point she’s considering not moving up. Thankfully no bad side effects
