Well done, Probablyawake! I'm also doing this with a high starting weight (132,5 kg = almost 21 stone, now down to 121 kg = 19 stone). It will take me a while to reach a healthy weight, I know, but I'm already feeling so much better already.
Hope to read more about your weight loss experience!

My starting weight was 138kg / 21st 10lbs. In 10 weeks (4 on 2.5mg, 4 on 5mg and 2 on 7.5mg) I've lost 2st 6lbs. I can see the difference in my face and hands. I've dropped a t-shirt size from 22 to 20. But nothing really noticeable yet. And no sign of dropping a trouser size :-( .

I alternate between feeling pleased with my progress and frustrated (and embarrassed) that I've let myself get so big that you can't tell I've lost almost 2.5st!

Jab 7 was lastnight, 2nd on 5mg
Sunday 14 April
SW. 79kg (BMI 30 obese)
CW 72.7kg (BMI 27.4 overweight)
Total loss 6.3kgs (8%)

GW 60kgs (BMI 23 healthy / total loss would be 19kgs = 24%!)

@skyscrapersinging
I too am considering which pharmacy to use for maintenance. please keep us posted on where you end up.
I am Currently using pharmacy2u and I have a delivery from Zava in the fridge (they were much cheaper but took too long to arrange last time so made an emergency dash back to P2u!)

In other news suppression has kicked in and I just had a sandwich and could not finish it. Did not have breakfast today so this is a surprise!

On the fitness front…..
have completed 10 weight training sessions with a PT today. Considering whether to rebook for a further 10 or try to go it alone with Apple Fitness for Company or trying the C25K again…. C25K made a huge difference to my fitness levels when I did it in lockdown hence considering it!

what are other people doing?

I spoke with my lot today (Numan), who will let me go right down to basically anything in the healthy BMI range. Ie down to 18.5 or so. But they are so expensive (currently £200+ for 5mg. Yikes!), I’ve actually booked a consult with Oushk tomorrow. They seem much cheaper, and of course at some point I’ll probably go back to 2.5 again to try and titrate down, which will be cheaper again.

I was asking the other day about trials where people tapered off Mj vs went cold turkey. In the actual Mj trials people switched to the placebo did go cold turkey. Mj can stay in your system for 30 days so it's not like an instant withdrawal.

Reddit had quite a few stories where people were on high doses and seemed to have ensured they had almost complete saturation so needless to say when those people went cold turkey, some struggled.

Anecdotally I found others who'd staed on low doses who could go back to 2.5mg and then off within a month or two. I've decided that's going to be my aim.

Of course the pharmacies are happy when people taper off slowly.. They make more money but there's no clinical reason for it.

Hope that helps!

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 14/04/2025 20:11

For maintenance, Pharmalous had some good reviews too here and on Reddit including a GP who works for Pharmalous who had been on Mj herself.

I saw a photo of myself today, taken today, and I'm so disappointed to see that I don't look much different despite a 1st 8lb loss so far! It's the weirdest thing because I can see a difference when I look in the mirror or even just look down at my body, but the camera apparently can't?!

I understand those feelings: It would have been so much easier if I had started dropping weight years ago at a much lower starting weight. But it is what it is. At least I have finally stopped gaining 5-7 lbs per year and have started making progress towards a healthier weight.
Just like you I haven't dropped a size in trousers yet. Well, that's partly due to the fact that all my clothes was really tight and I should probably have worn 1-2 sizes larger while I was still on my highest weight. I didn't want to go up a size (again!) and buy all new clothes (again!), however, so I managed to squeeze myself into a size 22 which now fits comfortably. I also see the progress in my belt (went down 4 holes).

Honestly, cameras are cruel. I bet everyone IRL can see your loss though! I think being able to see it yourself in the mirror is important, that's what you should focus on.

I've just taken progress photos and compared them to the photos I took for my mounjaro prescription on February 7th and there's no obvious difference that I can see. I look exactly the same.

Except I've gone from a size 22/24 to an 16/18, so I must look different, right? Can't tell!

I'm gonna retake them wearing the same clothes, hopefully I'll be able to tell then.

I’m exactly the same. I’ve lost 1st 10 and, while I’m only 1/4 of the way there, I can see a difference in the mirror. Especially in my face.

On Mother’s Day I took loads of photos with the dc, thinking how good I would look in at least some of them. Nope. Double chin in every one or just unflattering. There’s still a long way to go. But I suppose I don’t feel disheartened because I really do think I will get there eventually with mj.

Pandimoanymum · 14/04/2025 23:48

I feel a bit miserable tonight. It’s only day 5 of week one and the appetite suppression has completely gone, I’ve been so hungry today 🙁
And I don’t think I will have lost any weight, I can normally tell when a couple of pounds come off- knees a bit less hurty, tummy a bit wobblier, less like a tight drum but don’t feel anything.
I know it’s ‘only’ week one but I’m afraid now that I’ve got 3 weeks to go on a dose that probably isn’t doing anything for me yet. I know I’ve probably set my expectations too high, but so many people report good losses on 2.5mg at the start and I just thought the suppression I was feeling would last a bit longer.
Sorry for the moan. Just wanted to get it off my chest and nobody in real life knows I’m doing WLI so I can only moan here!

Pandimoanymum · 15/04/2025 00:01

Grrr, posted in the wrong month! Sorry🤣

WK7 D1
SW 118.8
CW 107.6

Happy with my progress, still on 2.5ml and going to stay on it as long as it’s working, seem to be having one really hungry day a week, no rhyme or reason to it.

Dropped into the 16’s this week which is encouraging

can’t really notice any difference in myself physically, uniform a bit looser but customer asked me this week if I had been on a health kick! Took me my surprise and I didn’t know what to say.

Have a good week everyone

sweetpickle2 · 15/04/2025 07:35

Forgot to post yesterday-

Week 3 of 5mg jab

CW 94kg
SW 107.8kg
GW 88kg

Woken up this morning the day after the jab with a very tight feeling in my stomach and feeling nauseous, hoping it’ll pass.

Have a good week all!

PerditionCatchMySoul · 15/04/2025 07:56

I have just done my golden dose of 5mg, and got 0.75 ml …. I know that’s a lot more than 5mg, can anyone tell me how much? I googled but no answers. I have another 5mg one waiting so slightly concerned I will be dropping too far back on dosages!

SilenceInside · 15/04/2025 08:03

@PerditionCatchMySoul 0.6ml is a full dose on any pen. 0.75ml is 25% more than 0.6ml. For a 5mg pen, that will give you 25% more on top of the 5mg, so giving you a dose of 6.25mg.

HoratioBum · 15/04/2025 08:21

Week 8 - last on 5mg

SW 16.1
CW 15.2

12lb loss overall in 2 months. Going up to 7.5mg tomorrow because 5 hasn’t been great for me, have felt suppression to be up and down although no side effects to speak of apart from a couple of squinty tummy situation after eating something oily.

I can see the difference in my face, wrists, hands and arms and maybe a bit on my tummy but I will be delighted when my apron overhang starts to recede.

I wish I wasn’t so impatient. I do feel like I’m plodding, even though 2lb a week is perfectly fine weight loss and I recognise that. By this time next year I should be around the weight I want to be if all goes well. And as I saw on another thread, a very wise poster said that time will pass regardless, so you may as well carry on making good choices.

NSV for me recently has been trying on a swimsuit that was skintight before and now is more than comfortable.

well done everyone for so many achievements. Onwards!

Febnewbie · 15/04/2025 08:29

@HoratioBum

Same story here though the thing about my losses - average of 1.5lb - is that it's been so inconsistent. On 5mg, I didn't lose at all for 3 weeks, then dropped 4lb in one go.

Just took my first dose of 7.5, will see how that goes.

Weirdly although I have lost a lot less weight than most folk here, I feel like I can see it on myself more? Maybe it's just being short!

SW 13st 8lb
CW 12 st 9lb

Hangryfastjo · 15/04/2025 08:49

@PerditionCatchMySoul that's the amount I took as my 5th 5mg dose.
I've done some research and you could go on to do 4 doses of 6.25mg from the 5mg pen or take 5mg every 6 days, both work out at a similar dose apparently. Since this dose was a full 6.25, I'm going to wait the full week, before deciding which way to do it

MissionToSize10 · 15/04/2025 09:06

Personally i feel that losing the weight slowly is much better for you vs quick. Think of the skin situation! 😆

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 15/04/2025 09:23

Has anyone found that painkillers, particularly ibuprofen isn't as effective? I pulled my calf muscle last week and then my lower back. I've been in constant pain for over a week but what usually works is barely touching it. I've had issues with my back for years but this is the worst it's been. I wonder if I should try an ibuprofen gel instead.
I tried dr Google but there wasn't a lot of evidence to suggest there's a link, other than the MJ being less effective

hennybeans · 15/04/2025 09:39

I had a funny thing happen yesterday. For weeks I’ve been followed around online via ads by a Whitestuff dress that I clicked on back March. I really like this dress but am not buying any new clothes yet because I have so many things that are just starting to fit or still a little too small.

Anyhow, I went into a charity shop yesterday which is something I never do because they’re not great in my town, and what was hanging there waiting for me? The Whitestuff dress I keep seeing online, two sizes smaller than my current size and £7!

Serendipity. I’m hoping it’ll fit for my August holiday.

WLINewbie · 15/04/2025 10:02

It's early days but I think dropping from 5mg to 3.75mg has been the right thing for me.

Back to feeling 'normal', getting hungry, cooking meals and having to use a bit of willpower to not eat ALL the biscuits (the willpower works whereas pre mj I'd be cursing myself, hating myself, doing everything go not eat the biscuits but I'd succumb due to the obsessiveness).

The high suppression I got from 5mg just wasn't for me, yes it made dieting incredibly easy but I wasn't making good choices and the small amount of cals I had a day were trash, the thought of a meal made me queasy but could easily stomach a dairy milk bar. The weight fell off me for a couple of weeks, it seemed so fast to me and I worry about all the negatives that can cause. I was also EXHAUSTED, struggled in the gym and slept away the nice weather. I don't want to be on this jab forever so need to adapt new eating habits and use this time to work on my sugar addiction, high suppression isn't realistic to me.

I think there's definitely a 'careful what you wish for' aspect to MJ. Or maybe I should have enjoyed it and set up a tiktok 🤣

Right now, here's to healthy eating, the odd treat, having enough energy to progress in the gym lack of food noise !

MrsPepperpot79 · 15/04/2025 10:11

Not posted in a bit as went away on a break with family to Cornwall. Food choices were mixed (ice cream for lunch!) but lots of walking helped. And while I had a scone, I only had half - much better than pre- MJ!

Sadly as a souvenir i brought a cold back with me - and not sure if it interferes with MJ or just feeling pants and comfort eating but food choices truly shocking this week, not enough water and over my calorie target nearly every day. I'll see the damage tomorrow! Anyone find feeling poorly doesn't help?

HoratioBum · 15/04/2025 10:51

@Febnewbie I do wonder if stalls are our bodies trying to get past a previous sticking point for weight. I’m fully expecting another one when I get down to 13 stone because for years my weight fluctuated around that point and my body seems ‘happy’ for want of a better word there. Once your body realises that you actually do mean it about keeping on reducing calories I think it eventually accepts it and drops weight. Frustrating though!

I'd guess that it would be metabolising slower.

I've taken ibuprofen and it's worked fine.

Did you eat when you take the pills? You have to eat. Slice of toast, or a banana - something like that. Eat first then immediately take the pills. Painkillers just aren't as effective on an empty stomach.
