Welcome one and all to the next instalment of our magical weight-loss journeys!

Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

Has anyone seen a badger? I’ve lost one!

I'm actually going back down to 2.5mg. I've also been really really struggling with low mood/depression and that's my main reason for not going up.

Sunday was meant to be my 4th dose of 5mg but I just did 2.5mg. I'll try another month on 2.5mg snd see how I feel.

Hope it works out better for you, Zibb. Let us know how you go.

Tonight is supposed to be my jab night but I'm going to wait another day so I am doing a half dose every 5 days instead of 4. I need a clear brain for work. I don't like the dull mind feeling I get being on Mj.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 16/04/2025 16:12

I was just looking at my profile on a security camera yes again and at first couldn't work out if I was standing facing the camera or facing away.

This tells me not only that my bum has shrunk but my stomach is still very round AND I'm beginning to get that older woman shape where they have a similar shape from the front and back. This is not a NSV.

More core work and weights in my future! 😁

OvertiredandConfused · 16/04/2025 18:20

So, I thought my unexpected attack of diarrhoea last week was an one-off. Turns out it wasn't. Monday into Tuesday was horrendous again and was up a couple of times last night too. It's only if I eat, anything! I'm not ill (did have nausea for a few hours in the early hours) if I don't eat.

According to shotsy, it happenens when my medication levels are highest. I don't really want to drop a dose as 5mg didn't work for me and 7.5mg has been pretty good (before the side effects). Think I'm going to be extremely cautious on Monday and Tuesday next week and eat very small portions of very bland, clean food.

Any advice? Anyone else had this?

SmurfKingdom · 16/04/2025 18:21

Been feeling slightly down because I’ve only lost just over a stone since starting but NSV, two people this week have asked me if I’ve lost weight, so it must be showing, I just don’t see it myself. I know I’ve lost a couple of inches off my stomach too, desperate for some new jeans, just ordered some in a 14 on Vinted (rather than my old 18!) just hoping they will fit 🤣

I’ve only lost 15lb in 8 weeks, I need to keep reminding myself that it’s slow and sustainable that I’m aiming for. Fingers crossed for the 14’s! I ordered a size 12 jacket from Vinted, it came today and when I opened it thought ‘ffs that looks tiny it won’t fit’ put it on an it fits perfectly!

One thing I have been struggling with is lethargy/apathy. Not tired as such but just not having motivation to do very much. Usually I can blitz through housework but I’d start one task, then stop and take another day or so to go back to it.

I’ve started magnesium this week and the difference in my energy levels is amazing. I feel like me again, I’m hoping it continues.

Catmum100 · 16/04/2025 20:18

I'm in the slower losers club too... I'm on week 10 and have lost 16lb. And I stayed the same for 2 weeks a fortnight ago (think it was a set point). And this is despite a good exercise regime, good sleep, great suppression, almost no alcohol, and no food noise. I do have an autoimmune condition and before Mj was gaining weight despite a healthy diet and lifestyle. So I'm trying to just settle in to much slower losses than others, and not be too jealous!

Shefliesonherownwings · 16/04/2025 22:40

I’m another who hasn’t seen the massive drop in lbs that some have had. I’ve lost 14lbs in 7 weeks, so 2lb a week. I’m really happy with that as I think it’s definitely sustainable. I’ve lost weight before but never with the consistency of 2lbs every week. It probably would have taken me at least three months to lose a stone on SW or WW for example. DH on the other hand has lost over a stone in 5 weeks. We’re all different, but we’ll all get to where we want to be in the end.

Hangryfastjo · 16/04/2025 22:57

Hello all, just seen a post (on instagram) about there being new guidelines if you are on HRT and weightloss injections, and your HRT includes oral progesterone. I'll try to add the screenshot.

Am I the only one bloomin delighted to be losing 1-2lb a week? 🤣🤣🤣. Half a stone a month is incredible weight loss xx

Nicecuppatea2025 · 16/04/2025 23:38

Well when you put it like that @WLINewbie, it’s really good!

1lb off for me this week. Still obese. Grrrrrr. Just 2lbs more and I’ll be into ‘overweight’ bmi … seems unlikely this weekend with it being Easter and all, but will give it a go. Maybe if I fast over the next couple of days and do an insane amount of exercise I might get there… or I could just be patient and do it properly. Borrrrrrring.

I did 4 weeks on 5mg, the first week or so was ok the got gradually worse, high suppression, feeling bloated and no energy. I know some people want that but it's just not real life for me!

Thankfully today has been a better day.
coffee for breakfast. Yoghurt with ground flax seed for lunch. Cup of tea mid afternoon. And then fish veg & rice for dinner followed by a small ice cream
phew!

let’s see how this week ends.

bed of luck to you!

Amazing well done! It was a great feeling when I managed to get into the overweight category. Think it will be a while to get to healthy as need to lose another stone for that! But this jab has definitely helped

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 17/04/2025 06:16

Also me. I lose 1.6lbs a week on avg a week and am delighted. That's 3 times the average of the weekly loss of the SURMOUNT trial.

Beginning of Week 8 for me and I've lost just under a stone. I'm happy with my progress and calorie intake still around 1700.

However I have a PSA. I had to move my scales to a different place in our ensuite and the scales are now weighing me a lb more. Wtf!I t's not a gain caused by anything hormonal, food, constipation etc.

Apparently it's not unusual for this to happen and I need to weigh something like a weight tomorrow to see if the old or new spot are more accurate.

I can't believe it happened though so a warning. Don't move your scale!

Thanks for sharing, @Hangryfastjo That gave me a nasty moment when I read the comment below that anyone on WLI ‘needs’ to be on gel. Gel is useless for me, and the fight I’ve had to stay on my tablets!

Reading the guidance more fully it appears that a change to gel needs to be ‘considered’. And that the oral progesterone element is the real concern, as it may not be effective on WLI. That is quite scary for those who use it. I don’t, as I have a mirena.

Will thousands of women now need to have a mirena fitted instead? Or come off WLI? And how will providers navigate this?

Lots to think about for the older amongst us. I do think that the sooner the NHS gets on board with prescribing this life saving medicine, and properly looking after people again, the better (pie in the sky?!).

Hangryfastjo · 17/04/2025 07:02

@spiralSister yes, i know, i was concerned until I read more. I'm on a combi patch that is currently working well for me, so I don't need to be worried.

I’m chuffed with that! I had a big loss at the beginning and down to 1-3lb a week since.
if I wasn’t on the jabs I’d have given up long ago and gained my initial loss all back… at square one again and miserable. The small losses are adding up and I feel thrilled! X

Not just you 😊 I think its a perfect amount, I'm shifting an average 1.8 lb a week according to shotsy app, which is amazing, i've achieved 27% of my target weightloss in 10 weeks and I actually believe I'll get to my goal, after 20 odd years of failed diets, definitely not disappointed with steady and consistent loses!

It's only a concern for those on oral progesterone. Everyone on mirena, gel or patches is fine.

My heart sank when I saw the news, but I am on sequi patches, so it's fine for me. No change.

Morning All,

Checking in as have weighed a day early as we are away for the Easter Weekend, and due for what will be my 12th jab (7th on 5mg)

31/01/2025 - Starting Weight 247.8 lb
17/04/2025 - Current Weight 209.4 lb
Total loss - 38.4lb

Have broken through to the 14's stone bracket so happy day today, and given me the extra push to avoid the easter chocolate as much as possible this weekend.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 17/04/2025 11:31

Came here this morning to 'complain' about losing so slowly, quickly gave my head a wobble! Another 0.6kg off this week, getting very close to 10kg which i would love to see before I finish this pen (last dose next week but will probably take the golden dose as well).

SW 82.6kg
CW 73.8kg

NSVs this week - wearing (and looking fab) in a dress that I've never been able to wear comfortably. My gym clothes feeling more comfy and digging out smaller sizes. Saw myself in a teams meeting and no double chin. Almost getting my favourite ring on. Generally feeling of being lighter on my twinkle toes. (Knowing I couldn't care less about the Easter eggs in my house!)

Onwards and downwards 😁

MissionToSize10 · 17/04/2025 12:15

Going to do my GD today instead of tomorrow (usual day) as im doing this in secret and there's too many in the house tomorrow to do it in secret! Just confessing here! I know youll all understand
😉😆

-1 stone in 9 weeks 💪

Zibb · 17/04/2025 12:27

10 years of weight data (a few gaps though) on MFP and also the last 9 weeks since starting MJ.

Had an appt yesterday with the practice nurse. She weighed me and her scales show I'm the exact same weight as mine tell me so I'm happy mine are accurate. Been put up to 5mg too after 8 weeks on 2.5mg.
Had my birthday on Tues and my daughters last Sunday. Daughter invited us all round for a BBQ and hubby took me out for drinks, didn't have as many as usual, I just felt I'd had enough and didn't want anymore. I was a bit worried but mid week weigh in (first time ever, I'm a once weekly girl) shows a llb loss. Also had my first bit of cake since early Feb and realised I'm not missing anything, I could have lived on cake once.
Gone from 16.6 stone to 14.12 in 8 weeks and hope it continues.
Hope everyone is ok and happy Easter. X

Re exercise…. Can anyone recommend a free app for strength training/calisthetics - one that is actually free and good to use. Don’t want to go to a gym but want to start adding in some training to go alongside taking back up running. However every “free” app I download then wants me to fill in a survey before sending me an email with my personalised plan and the cost for it! I don’t have the money to spend on both Mounjaro and apps/gym membership. I’ve done couch to 5k and got back to running 5k consistently but need something else… any ideas?

I don't know any apps but I love Hampton aka Hybrid Calisthenics on YouTube.
