Welcome one and all to the next instalment of our magical weight-loss journeys!

Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

Has anyone seen a badger? I’ve lost one!

Nsv for me this week too, just back from the cinema and rather than grabbing a load of snacks at M&S I got a sugar free sparkling water and some apples, that's it, no junk, no sweets, was perfectly happy with my water and apple, still enjoyed the film. Also I don't squish onto the cinema seat anymore, I had room, so much more comfortable.

After Saturday’s shopping euphoria, I am now deeply in the dumps.

For various excuses reasons I have overindulged this week. Not anywhere near like I used to but still. Feels rubbish!

Don't be hard on yourself. One week will not undo your hard work so far.

Remember, this is about making sustainable changes and including days where you overindulge and then getting back on track is setting you up for maintaining your weight loss forever. Including treats and days off is just going to train good habits in my opinion because you're being more aware about what you are consuming and you should enjoy it even though you know you can't eat that way every day.

sweetpickle2 · 01/04/2025 07:31

Agree with @Zibb- there's no way this will stick unless you do have days where you overindulge, that's just not realistic. It takes more than a day or two (or even a holiday or something longer) to undo hard work the rest of the time.

Shefliesonherownwings · 01/04/2025 08:04

Weigh in and jab day today. I had D&V over the weekend, not sure if it was something I ate as I ate pretty cleanly or could have been a bug but it was pretty rough. I suspect that helped with this weeks 2.5 pound loss but I’ll take it as I am now in the 12s!!

Going to stick with 2.5mg this month as it’s worked well so hopefully it will continue.

SW - 13st 11
CW - 12st 13
GW - 10st 7

Total loss = 12lbs.

Ahh don't worry! One week won't make any difference. I know it feels like a massive setback partly cos the jabs are so expensive, messing up/not losing for a week seems like a huge failure! That's part of why I'm no longer weighing weekly tbh but realistically it's true what they say - this is a marathon not a sprint!

Ke11 · 01/04/2025 10:34

@Nicecuppatea2025 I did something similar last week, I was feeling pretty rough with my cold and walking past a shop I got some chocolate and ice-cream. It's not going to do any harm in the long term and we all need to learn to balance this stuff out, it's something that will come with practice

Jab 7 for me today.
I’ve done 4 weeks at 2.5, then one week at 3mg, then one week at 4mg, then back down to 2.5 mg today.

The last two weeks have been rough on the increased dose. Nausea and fatigue, just living on protein shakes, fruit, odd bit of chicken and toast. And all that suffering and I’ve only lost 1/2 kg (1lb) total for the two weeks.

So I’ve gone right back to 2.5 this week because I just couldn’t face another week of barely being able to function. I was ill with a virus 2-3 weeks ago which added to the misery. Fingers crossed for a more gentle week with some weight loss!

I’m on day 4 now of really awful gastro symptoms after my second 5mg jab on Friday (I was fine the first week!) Why I didn’t do it like you, I have no idea. I’ve given up and taken Imodium today, as was up 7 or 8 times in the night again. And I’ve hardly eaten anything! Going down to at least 3.7 for my jab on Friday, and if I still have these symptoms I’m going to drop back down to 2.5 (when I had no symptoms at all but still good control of food noise and reasonable appetite suppression) after that, and just stick there I think. This week of feeling so awful has definitely taken the shine off my ‘MJ journey’! At least I know it’s relatively common, so for once I haven’t convinced myself that I’ve got some dreadful illness. (Silver linings?? 😆). Lovely to see everyone’s NSV’s and losses, and to hear such positive stories - keep it up, everyone!

mysparkleismissing · 01/04/2025 12:27

WI for me today 5 swims, 2 gym sessions and a yoga class. I've lost 0.6kg (1.3lbs)

MynameisJune · 01/04/2025 12:28

Jab day yesterday for me, went back up to 5. Suppression is too high today so next week will probably try 3.75 if it stays the same, as come Friday last week I felt like I wasn’t on any meds at all after taking 2.5mg on the Monday.

We went away for the weekend and didn’t get back until later afternoon so didn’t weigh yesterday. Weighed this morning and despite eating a lot over the weekend (although nothing like pre-MJ) I’ve maintained. Which is fine as I’m also, hopefully, at the end of a week long period (thanks peri 🙄) . We did do a lot of walking and swimming over the weekend so that probably helped a bit too.

Well done on all the losses and NSV’s.

Is anyone else struggling to find their next pens at a reasonable price? I've just tried Zava but apparently my starting weight is too low to start a plan with them (even though it's because I've obviously been using it to lose the weight so far!) I've already bought from Pillsorted and WePrescribe so can't take advantage of any of their new customer offers. I can't find anything for less than £130 - i know that's probably about the right price but I already have to really stretch to afford it as it is and I still have 2 stone to lose🤦‍♀️ sorry rant over!

YourAmusedDuck · 30/03/2025 11:19

@TheBuffetInspector I gave up smoking in Jan and knew I was going to pile the weight on and did so after a month started Mounjaro. Just wondering are you finding weight loss a bit up and down ? I’m trying to stay positive as if I hadn’t taken it I’d have put lots more on. Also when the suppression wears off at end of week do you think about smoking ?

My apologies @YourAmusedDuck

I saw your post a couple of days ago and then couldn't find it again due to sheer stupidity 😂

Firstly, I'm vaping. I'm on a free program provided my council for 12 weeks... So I don't feel that need for a fag.
Weightloss started slowly, I put that down to some awful menopause problems at mo and the not smoking.

Suspression happened instantly though on 2.5. Probably a shock to the system. I lost 5lb in 3 weeks... My scales were stuck at 14stone3.

Then I started 5 and within 2 weeks had gone down to 13stone8 - so a stone off after 6 weeks.

I do notice that towards the end of the week I could stuff my face, nicotine or not!

8 weeks now and I haven't budged on the scales, but I haven't really budged in real life either as I'm just losing so much blood etc due to current issues.

I'm not disheartened at all - I never would have knocked a stone off without! I'll be doing my last 5 today then order 7.5. GP has just given me some new medication thankfully that will see my up to my specialist gynae appointment on 29th. It's all hormones so yes, up down, staying stuck...
If weight has been up then I'm not going to worry about 1 or 2lbs as I know it's not food related.

Sorry, that was a bit of a waffle 🤣 Did you quit smoking cold turkey?

Please don't beat yourself up about this. It happens to us all and there will always be bad days. I had a chocolate ice cream on Sunday. I rang my MIL for Mother's Day and got upset. It's OK. It might happen next time I ring her and that'll be OK too.
We're aiming for long term changes, not perfection.
You're doing really well, keep at it x

I ended up with a 2 week gap between jabs due to difficulty in ordering

zava have a 2-3 day response time to messages and wanted multiple photos, then ID and then more questions before they would issue my pen.

in the meantime I went back to pharmacy2u because I had got half way thru an order. Balked at the price. So aborted the mission. And then a week later they sent me a discount.

still far more expensive than zava but I ordered. They asked for a photo. And then they confirmed delivery.

and then they and zava delivered on the same day!!!!!

so now I have the next pen in the fridge which buys me time to find a good deal for the one after that.

Hangryfastjo · 01/04/2025 13:21

@Littlebitpsycho have you tried IQ doctor they have discount for everyone. I'm going to stick with them. I believe they also price match but I've not used this.

Thank you @HangryfastjoI've just ordered from them now, lots of photos plus ID but at least it's done!

MynameisJune · 01/04/2025 14:24

Zava are my usual, I’ve just ordered my next pen with medexpress but they haven’t approved the order yet. Had to send ID and photos but also had to lie about weight to get it. They really should have a system for those that have already been on it.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 01/04/2025 15:57

Argh you’re so right. Thanks for giving my head a wobble @Zibb @sweetpickle2 @Feb2025start @Ke11 @LollyWillow will chill tf out.

Have had a shit day at work and am now craving a glass of wine. I’ll resist, but still. Annoying!

Is it too early to just go to bed? 😂

What strength are you on now, @Nicecuppatea2025 ? I agree with everyone else, don’t beat yourself up! You are in a size 14 from a 20, for crying out loud! 😁 You don’t do that without strength and determination, and we all need a day off from that occasionally!

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 01/04/2025 16:23

Week ten jab for me today. I was going to do my second bonus dose but I cocked it up, bent the needle and then there were so many air bubbles it made me panic so I aborted that mission and just used a new pen. I managed fine first time I did it. Oh well.
Good news is I’m 23lbs down in 9 weeks.

Hangryfastjo · 01/04/2025 16:25

I think it's always really good @Nicecuppatea2025 when you've overindulged to also recognise that it was nowhere near the overindulgence that you used to do.
It's great to say I had a bag of crisps, when it used to be all 6 and toast. Or a handful of chocolate buttons rather than the full bag and crisps on top. Then tea, then wine 🤣.
There's a voice there now that says, yeah you needed this, but you've satisfied the gremlin, so can stop now.

I’m on 5mg still (jab day today, week 10)… wondering if going up to 7.5mg might be a good plan next month.

Who’s up to 7.5mg on here? I can’t remember who has increased …

I have a med express £40 off code of you would like that?

Feb2025start · 01/04/2025 16:46

@OvertiredandConfused I'm halfway through week one of 7.5mg and feel the same. I have been forcing food down and trying to ensure I'm over 1000 calories at least with added protein drinks etc as well as 'normal' healthy/nutritionally dense food but actually feel quite weak right now. I just fell fast asleep on the toilet at work for 30 minutes - not ideal! Feel like my brain isn't quite functioning properly, which again isn't a good look as my job is quite high responsibility and intellectually (if not physically thank god) demanding.

I'm going to give it another week and then probably switch back to 5mg via counting clicks if there's no improvement, as that gave decent suppression but still with good energy levels and not this exhaustion and inability to eat. I suspect 5mg may be my 'sweet spot' for maintenance and I don't actually want to lose any or much more weight tbh!

@Nicecuppatea2025 I just posted about this (see above). I'm personally thinking of going back to 5mg by counting clicks as the suppression in these first few days on 7.5mg has been insane and it's impacting my energy levels (worryingly so tbh).

I guess there's no harm in trying 7.5mg as you can always go back down (the price difference between the two was negligible as I've switched pharmacies to Medicine Market Place from Pillsorted).
