Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

Has anyone seen a badger? I’ve lost one!

Oof. Week 2 on 5mg and I’ve had two days of the most horrendous diarrhoea and nausea. Miserable! I think I might go down to 3.75 (or even back to 2.5mg!) by counting clicks on my 5mg pen. Anyone got any suggestions for what to eat while the diarrhoea is going on? I don’t really fancy anything at all, but I’ve got to eat SOMETHING I guess.

PurpleCoo · 31/03/2025 08:01

Back from my 10 night trip, hence my random time weigh in.

W7D4
SW 96.55kg
CW 87.6kg
11 day loss 2.35kg
Total loss 8.95kg

I'm super pleased. I was self catering but planned to have fish and chips and a cream tea as treats, which I did. I had terrible heartburn the day after the fish and chips, but it was manageable. Not inclined to make it a thing I do regularly though.

I did struggle to stay in calories on some days (1480 allowance) and went over by a couple of 100 calories on the odd occasion, but not with crap (except for fish and chip day). I walked around 130 miles though (total daily step count), which is more than what I would normally do, so the increased hunger may have related to that.

Although it sounds as though I have lost a lot while away, my last weigh in was a day early and only 0.55kg and I was TOTM, so a chunk of the weight loss would be losing that retained water. I'd expect to lose 1.6kg in 11 days at a rate of 1kg a week, so it works out just about right for a steady rate of loss.

I didn't dare increase my dose when away and unable to judge what my rate of loss was nor if I would get side effects, so did 30 clicks for first dose and 35 clicks of a 5mg pen Friday just gone. I will probably do 3.75mg dose on Friday, but will decide on the day. It certainly won't be any higher than that, I have been reading how so many of you have had awful side effects going up to 5mg. I am still getting a decent rate of loss as well, so no need to go up much

Protein shakes? Protein yoghurts?

Jab and weigh in day-

SW 107.8kg
CW 97kg
GW 87kg

Ive changed my start weight to what it was when I first started the jabs at a year ago even though I stopped and gained since then as it makes me feel better haha.

Just 10kg more to go- but honestly even if I got another 5kg off I’d be slimmer than I’ve been in years.

I'm finding the nausea on 5mg quite horrible as well, luckily don't have any other digestive problems but I do find the nausea subsides when I eat. Could maybe follow the general BRAT (bananas, rice, apples, toast) guidelines for eating with a stomach bug?

Thanks @Burnsernsand @CallIpswichNow
i am wondering whether to start at 2.5 as you say
(30 clicks on a 5 pen )
and then if that goes ok I’ll try 3.75 next week (45 clicks)
rather than moving straight to 5

however. The pharmacy knows it’s been 2 weeks. So I can’t help but think they would suggest a lower dose if they thought it risky…….

The pharmacy will know it has taken 2 weeks to process the order but they won't necessarily know you haven't taken meds for 2 weeks. I ordered my first pen and didn't use it for 3 weeks, I ordered again 6 weeks after my first order but didn't miss any dossages. They won't know your dosing schedule.

The risk to you is increased symptoms. Over 4 weeks of taking medication it builds up in your system. With a gap of 2 weeks all the MJ will now be gone from your system so you are starting again effectively. You might be fine or 5mg could make you feel quite ill. If you are unsure why not send an email to your pharmacy and ask.

Same for me! I had horrible diarrhea on Saturday and am now going home from work early because of vomiting. I'm also on 5mg and not coping well.
I've eaten toast on Sunday which was fine Every other food seems to be problematic.

Loving all the happy NSV and loss posts!

What are people who are at/nearing their target planning to do? Sorry, I know there have been previous posts on this subject on this and other threads!

I've just started my third pen (7.5mg) and honestly don't feel the need to lose more weight - the scales are static and although I'm not quite at my (admittedly arbitrary) goal of 60kg, I'm feeling really good and healthy and like I'm losing fat and gaining muscle. So I'm really at a happy balance. Part of me feels like I should just stop after this pen and stick to good habits but I'm worried I'll undo all the good things that have happened (not just re MJ/weight loss - my life has done a 180 since this time a few months ago when I was frankly a fat, depressed to the point of being suicidal, alcoholic, self sabotaging, unemployed loser - sorry for cheesy overshare but the turnaround has been nothing short of miraculous!).

I'm scared of going back to the person I was 😬. I can afford the pen so I guess maybe I should drop down to 5 or something and then maintain? Any thoughts/advice??

Actually Mounjaro can stay in your system for 30 days so it may not be starting from scratch.

No advice for maintenance as im far away from needing to think about it, but just wanted to say a huge well done! Your post is so brave and honest, I'm so pleased your life feels worth living fully again xx

Okay but it will be minimal, the issue is potential side effects from 5mg when the momentum from the previous injections will be massively reduced.

LollyWillow · 31/03/2025 12:59

Hi all, weigh in at the beginning of week six.
SW 111kgs (17 stone 7lbs)
CW 103.7kgs (16 stone 4ish)
Total loss to date 7.3 kgs or 16 lbs. I'm pretty pleased with this as I seem to be hitting a steady 1kg/2lbs a week after the initial sudden drop.

I've not put a goal weight, at the moment it's 90kgs but I will still be obese at that weight and, in my head I'm aiming for 80kgs but I haven't been that weight since my late 20s so I don't want to push too hard. If it takes a year or more then so be it.

I haven't struggled too much with side effects so far, some constipation, some diarrhea, but nothing lasting. My only concern is that, about 36 hours after my jab, I have felt really lightheaded and mildly nauseous.
Hopefully this is just my body getting used to the drug but I'll keep an eye on it before going up to 7.5mgs

Thanks @Burnserns and @ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret

actually P2U asked me the date of my last jab and I was honest. So if they thought there would be a problem I’m sure they would have said.

as it is I did 45 clicks of the 5 pen. So did 3.75 dose this time.

all being well I administer 5 next time and continue on my merry way to my Goal Weight!

I also wanted to say, that I read a lovely article by Daisy Goodwin over the weekend. It's talking about her experience of Mounjaro and how it has changed her life. On Substack I'd you want to search for it, but hopefully this link will work -

Got my in laws staying at the moment and MIL is watching me eat like a hawk. “ are you not finishing that? / Is that all you’re having?/ Is there something wrong with it?You must be STARVING, let me make you a sandwich” etc etc. We went out for a Mother’s Day set meal yesterday and my heart sank - it was three courses and although I chose the lightest things on the menu I still struggled to finish and was sliding things over to DH to hoover up. I have been saying that I’m just trying to eat more mindfully and stop when I’m full but I don’t think it’s washing with her.
Ended up having a really uncomfortable night tossing and turning with a horribly bloated tummy. The farts we’re off the chart!

Sorry you’re suffering as well :( It’s a bit grim isn’t it! I’m starting to feel a bit better today but I think that might just be because I’m….empty 😆 Hope it resolves soon, I’m definitely going down in dosage for my next injection.

Thank you! Going down to 2,5 mg might be a good idea since I was feeling fine with that.
Hope you feel better soon!

I feel your pain. I get the same from my MiL and stepmum. Disapproving looks. "Go on, Wooler, have some more. "What can I pass you?" "Have a biscuit."

I've learned some useful phrases. Thanks, I'm really full. That was delicious, and has really filled me up. Trying to eat more veggies -- it's a challenge to get to 5 a day, isn't it? I had a big breakfast, so there's less room than usual for lunch. No wine, thanks, I'm thirsty so I would love a big glass of water. What can I pass you?

Or, if I get really fed up, "No, thank you. I'm an adult and I can look after my own appetite." Or, on one memorable occasion, as the food was put on my plate "No, I said one potato, not four. Please take them back."

I feel rude doing it, but the actual rudeness is in trying to police other people's food intake. They're food pushers, and it's their problem, and needn't be ours.

Hangryfastjo · 31/03/2025 15:47

About to have my third 5mg jab.

I've lost 3.5lb this week, 17.5lb in total in 6.5 weeks. It's become harder to track as I shifted my jab around a little week 3 and 4.

So happy with my loss and just how im feeling generally. 5mg was really hard the first week, but this second week felt a lot easier. I've order another 5mg as I want to stay as low as I can for as long as I can.
Well done everyone on scale and non scale victories, loving reading them all.

OvertiredandConfused · 31/03/2025 16:31

First 7.5mg jab yesterday morning. I'm really struggling to eat. Yesterday I managed some flamegrilled chicken, one tomato and a babybel at lunchtime then a protein bar and yoghurt in the evening.

Today I forced down a thin bagel with some avocado for breakfast. I've had a banana, an apple, a babybel and a kids smoothie for lunch. I feel so full! Can't imagine eating anything else.

Don't feel nauseous or anything, just no interest in food at all. I'm going to go with it for a couple more days and hope it settles - I was a bit like this for a few days early on with 2.5mg

HoratioBum · 31/03/2025 17:02

@WoolerOwl Thanks, that’s really helpful, I’ll definitely be trying some of those.

It’s the refusal to take no that is annoying, if I offered someone a sandwich and they said no thanks I’m fine, I’d just say all righty then and carry on. I suspect because for a long time I WAS the person who would have the extra biscuit, they think I’m clearly up to something. I have been the default “fat person” for so long that it probably does seem a bit weird to them to be honest. But you’re right - their problem not mine!

SongToTheSiren · 31/03/2025 19:29

Hi all,

Checking in today after catching up with this thread. Great to read everyone's experiences and NSVs

SW 15st 3lbs
CW 14st 1lb

16 lbs down in 7 weeks, nice and steady progress which I'm really happy about and I'm definitely enjoying the fact that my clothes are getting baggy 😁

Jab 8 done today, 3rd one on 5mg pen.
After reading a lot of other people's experiences going up to the 5mg pen I decided to do incremental doses up to 5mg. I had very limited side effects on 2.5mg so I really didn't want to suddenly feel very ill jumping up to 5mg.
(I had horrendous constant nausea for months when pregnant with my DD years ago - never again 🤢)

1st jab with the 5mg pen I only took a 3.75mg dose (45 clicks) and felt nauseous/headachy the day after but bearable. Suppression definitely wore off towards the end of the week.
2nd jab with the 5mg pen I took 4.34mg (53 clicks) and felt a bit nauseous but better than the previous week. No other side effects on either jab.

I've done the third jab today and taken the full 5mg dose as I feel happy enough with how the previous 2 went. Any side effects will probably hit me tomorrow so fingers crossed the stepping up in smaller doses first will have worked. If not then at least I'm working from home tomorrow in case of any sudden dashes to the loo 😂

hennybeans · 31/03/2025 20:10

Jab 7 for me today.
I’ve done 4 weeks at 2.5, then one week at 3mg, then one week at 4mg, then back down to 2.5 mg today.

The last two weeks have been rough on the increased dose. Nausea and fatigue, just living on protein shakes, fruit, odd bit of chicken and toast. And all that suffering and I’ve only lost 1/2 kg (1lb) total for the two weeks.

So I’ve gone right back to 2.5 this week because I just couldn’t face another week of barely being able to function. I was ill with a virus 2-3 weeks ago which added to the misery. Fingers crossed for a more gentle week with some weight loss!

Your replies are brilliant- my dad is very much like this comments when you eat a lot, comments when you eat nothing, comments that you've stopped gymming (cos of an injury!) comments on too much exercise.

Eurgh it's exhausting when did it become OK to do this....
