Good luck over the next few weeks. Loving all the ongoing support and encouragement.

Has anyone seen a badger? I’ve lost one!

Eek. 5mg pen just arrived.
had almost a 2 week hiatus since my last 2.5mg jab. due to being disorganised at getting a new pen and then all the faffing with pharmacy requesting photos and rejecting photos (zava) and then pharmacy2u also requiring new photos.

feeling nervous about the increase.

put my mind to rest please!!!

anyone have side effects they didn’t have before?
Or decide to go back to 2.5?
or was everything great?

any tips?

If you've had a 2 week gap most the MJ built up in your system from 4 weeks on 2.5mg will be gone. I personally wouldn't jump to 5mg yet and would do 2.5mg again to start building up the levels again.

Nicecuppatea2025 · 30/03/2025 07:24

I did it! I braved the high street yesterday!

Amazed to be trying on size 14s and even one size 12! Some 14s still a bit tight but know I’ll be there soon, so didn’t stress about it.

9 weeks ago I was a size 20 and shopping had been a miserable, soul-crushing experience for well over a decade.

For the first time in years shopping was fun!! Made myself try on loads of different things and was really surprised by what suited me

Bought three dresses, plus a jacket and a new top, some new makeup and a bag. Returned home skint victorious.

Oh, that is just brilliant, @Nicecuppatea2025! Your joy is palpable!

I also went shopping yesterday, but only to Tesco. However, I was wearing a size 16 pair of wide leg jeans (from Vinted) and they looked fabulous. I also picked up a very practical but rather nice shower proof mac that will pack down for weekends away (got one next weekend). Automatically picked up the L, and then it occurred to me to just slip it on for size in front of the mirror.

Well. It was massive on me. I swanned off with the medium and felt very pleased with myself 😂

Weigh in day today!
SW: 15.5
CW: 13.12 (yesssss)
TL: 1.5 (and 3 inches off my waist)
TW: 11.5?

Going to do another month on 5mg, as it’s working well (3 lbs off this week), and I don’t want the constipation to be any worse. That’s all I have though, no other side effects, and it’s a whole lot better than wretched IBS!

I hope everyone has a good week, with lots of NS and SV’s! 💐

Ohsoverytired11 · 30/03/2025 08:44

Week 8 day 1 and weigh in and jab day. 1.8lb down! Happy with that. 18lb in total in 7 weeks.

SW 14st 2.6lb
CW 12st 12.6lb

So happy to be in the 12s! Currently sticking with 3.75 as I seem to be doing well on that.

Biggest difference lately is that the weight loss has encouraged me to take better care of myself generally in terms of skin care, hair care, clothes etc which is also making me feel so much better about myself. I feel I must becoming across more approachable with feeling better in myself because more people are initiating conversations etc

SansaClegane · 30/03/2025 10:08

It's so lovely to hear all these happy, positive stories (on a side note, I can't wait to get into the "12s"! Few more weeks for me yet I reckon).

Honestly I was the biggest mounjaro sceptic a few months back. I couldn't believe there were so many threads on Mumsnet, because surely there couldn't be that many women stupid enough to pay £££ for weight loss when you can just do it will willpower alone!
I've lost big amounts of weight several times in the past, and it's always crept back on. Just this time (age?) I couldn't seem to shift it, hence I then actually looked into MJ. Tbh if I hadn't seen all these positive threads on here, I probably never would have considered it.

Now i can't believe that MJ still has such a bad rep and isn't used more widely by the NHS. The health benefits must be enormous - not just weight but all the comorbidities, like high blood pressure reducing etc.
I can really see this medication changing my relationship with food. No more cravings, no more "rewarding" myself with food, it's a complete game changer.

TheBuffetInspector · 29/03/2025 16:36

Thank you @Mounjaronewbie25 and @Burnserns I never would have got there!

Plenty of those, I gave up smoking just before so:

Blood pressure down

Lots more energy

Skin looks brilliant!

I genuinely feel a lot more confident with 1 stone off (2 to go but I'm feeling positive)

I'm feeling positive! 😂

Yep 50 years old, no idea menopausally but having lots of gynae problems. Just quit smoking, was terrified of piling on the weight...

Feeling positive!!

My NSVs ❤️

@TheBuffetInspector I gave up smoking in Jan and knew I was going to pile the weight on and did so after a month started Mounjaro. Just wondering are you finding weight loss a bit up and down ? I’m trying to stay positive as if I hadn’t taken it I’d have put lots more on. Also when the suppression wears off at end of week do you think about smoking ?

I agree with this. @strongermummy I would maybe count clicks to do a 2.5 dose for the first couple of weeks and then if all seemed well, move up to 5.

CallIpswichNow · 30/03/2025 12:56

"I couldn't believe there were so many threads on Mumsnet, because surely there couldn't be that many women stupid enough to pay £££ for weight loss when you can just do it will willpower alone!"

This is so harsh! and yet, it seems to be a very common view.

I get that you've had a rethink @SansaClegane and that is lovely, and I wish you well. It's such a downer though that lots of people seem to judge us for fatness and then judge us again for losing weight in a way they consider stupid or lazy or whatever.

It actually makes me reluctant to see some of the people in my wider circle (acquaintances, not friends) who I know will probably guess I've used WLI and quietly sneer.

MissionToSize10 · 30/03/2025 12:59

The biggest game changer in using these WLIs is the lack of food noise! Its brilliant 🤩

Mounjaronewbie25 · 30/03/2025 13:09

Good afternoon all 😎 nice to see the sunshine back again. Happy Mother’s Day if you’re celebrating it 💐 would normally be an excuse for me to get stuck into a big meal and some chocolate, but I genuinely have no interest today. It’s so weird! But wonderful too.

ivegotthekeyivegotthesecret · 30/03/2025 14:32

Glad to see lots still doing well here.

My NSV is that I've never let myself wear anything other than black trousers because I was too fat. I decided to treat myself and order some trousers in my favourite colour in a 16 and to my amazement the trousers were huge! So I've ordered some more in a 12 and 14 but in the meantime I'm just so happy to be adding green trousers to my wardrobe!

OntheTrainX · 30/03/2025 15:21

Loving the NSVs ❤️ Well done.

I went out last night for dinner. Had a soup starter and felt very full. My main course arrived, and I felt uncomfortably full halfway through it. I never eat dessert (I dislike sugary stuff, and always have) but I couldn’t even manage my usual flat white coffee to finish off. I left half of my second glass of wine.

I feel a bit odd about it. It’s of course great that I ate and drank far fewer calories than normal. But it did spoil the dining experience tbh and travelling home in a taxi with an abdomen that felt stuffed full to bursting was quite nauseating.

Sorrry to whinge. I’ve been lucky enough to lose 1 stone 5 lbs (8.6kg) since 12th February, my BMI is now 29.5, tight clothes are now marginally too loose, and the side effects of MJ have been manageable. So I shouldn’t complain. I just feel a bit disappointed about my evening out.

pinkcow123 · 30/03/2025 16:17

@OntheTrainX I went out for Mother's Day lunch today. And felt the same. I felt guilty for wasting the food too...

Zibb · 30/03/2025 16:41

Congrats everyone on the losses and NSVs!

I'll be doing my 3rd 5mg dose tonight and I'm hoping it will be better than the last 2.

SW: 115.8kg
CW: 98.4kg

I've been so hungry this week that I've eaten close to maintenance calories most days.

Not counting calories today either as my kids made me some cake and I'm going to enjoy a big slice. Thai food for dinner as well. Just going to appreciate it and not worry about it all.

yes, the food waste too - I agree.

WoolerOwl · 30/03/2025 17:02

I agree about not liking the food waste. I am feeling queasy and full very quickly now I am on 5mg.But I'm fine when I can choose or order something suitably small for myself -- follow my appetite, in other words. What's difficult is other people's expectations of what I should eat, what a "normal" portion looks like, what a treat is (food!), and implied judgement when I don't want to do that any more. I know that they are just trying to be hospitable and kind, especially since I am not broadcasting being on WLI or changing how I eat, but it is hard. I realize that quite a lot of my weight gain is in response to not being able to say no to other people's expectations. That doesn't mean it is their fault: I have to take responsibility for what I put in my mouth. No one made me eat it. But it means that I need to learn now to become more comfortable with strategies for saying "Thank you, no, that was delicious, but I've had enough" or "I really feel like just having a coffee, not the cake this time" and not over explaining. I also swear that I will never, ever push food on anyone or comment if they have less or more than seems "normal".

aylis · 30/03/2025 17:45

My daughter made me cupcakes for Mothers Day and it's the first time I've eaten anything cakey in weeks - I was so acutely aware adding one to Nutracheck how many calories it is and how I wouldn't previously have thought anything of eating two of them in one day 😬

I'm also really aware of how difficult other people can make it with 'one won't hurt' comments because they don't seem to realise just how often you hear it. You can hear it at home, at a relative's house, in work, at a social occasion, and they all think they're the 'one time'. I've got a social occasion coming up in a few weeks that is centred around food and I'm dreading hearing that.

Maro11 · 30/03/2025 18:21

Evening all, MIA this week as I have been on nights which I only work very very rarely.

change in schedule messed me up a bit,

I’ve changed Jan day to Sunday

W5D1 today on golden dose of 2.5
ml.

stay the same for me last week

have a great week everyone

Crosspatchy · 30/03/2025 21:36

Have lost about 14lbs since Feb 4th. Pub last night for my birthday and stupidly ordered a starter and main. Managed half the starter and had to give some of my main course to hubby and daughter and I felt so bad about the waste. Much easier at home as I can freeze leftovers. Just taken delivery of 7.5mg ready for jab on Tuesday. Hoping it is OK and I don’t have to mess around with the dose.

You can ask for a take home box. Most places enable this now.

strongermummy · 30/03/2025 22:39

Thanks @Burnsernsand @CallIpswichNow
i am wondering whether to start at 2.5 as you say
(30 clicks on a 5 pen )
and then if that goes ok I’ll try 3.75 next week (45 clicks)
rather than moving straight to 5

however. The pharmacy knows it’s been 2 weeks. So I can’t help but think they would suggest a lower dose if they thought it risky…….

aylis · 30/03/2025 22:59

Just noticed Nutracheck took it upon itself to unilaterally change my 'set your own goal calories' and knocked 50 cals off a day. I know it's probably linked to updating my weight loss but the audacity 😅

Hahaha - see it as a NSV because it knows that you are doing well !
