Welcome to thread 2 never thought we would be posting so much that we have to start a new thread.

I am still hovering around 12 and a half stone. I have been absolutely freezing to the point I have a duvet on the sofa.

I have had one NSV so far I can zip up my boots and they do not feel tight anymore.

Thanks for the new thread…20 pages already!
Started on 5ml Sunday. Not alot of weight loss - certainly nothing noticeable but I do feel much happier not having all the food noise.
However I did crave a cigarette and then gave in to having a couple a day. Weirdly I found this has offset my self control. I feel like I need to eat more ( whereas fags normal put you off food),

Hi guys,

I’ve ordered my first pen today so I’m completely new to this!
Super anxious about side effects.
My starting weight is 18st 11lb.
I had lost over 3st just calorie counting in order to have fertility treatment but I’ve put all of that back on now. My baby has just turned 1 and I have lost 17lb counting again over the last couple of months but feel like I need more of a push and help to block out all of the “noise”.

Any tips for starting would be really appreciated please!x

I started last Saturday. I was nervous too but so far it's been brilliant - very mild side effects but much reduced hunger and food noise.

I'd advise to read the leaflets carefully before your first injection and just take it step by step. It is a powerful drug and it's wise to be cautious and follow the instructions from your gp/provider. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water and eating moderate amounts of healthy food. Then just monitor how you're feeling.

We're all sort of experimenting on ourselves here! So just take it slow and hopefully you'll find it's working for you.

ThisCosyDeer · 25/03/2025 22:58

Started on Saturday. I was super nervous, but already really happy with how things are going. I just feel better about food. Lots of weight to lose; my BMI is 39.

SW 118.5kg
CW 116.5kg

I'm feeling so much more positive that I can actually shift this weight that's crept on over the past 10 years.

Hello all,
I would like to join. I plan on taking my first jab this friday evening before bed ?
Ive read that doing it before bedtime so that you can sleep off the worst of the symptoms is the way forward ?

I dont have a huge amount to lose. I would like to lose 2 stone ideally.
Has anyone had any expereince of starting it at a slightly lower starting weight ?

I am perimoenpausal and I recently lost 3 stone through a calorie defecit but the final 2 stone wont budge and I have fallen back into a cycle of binge eating.
I am hoping the mounjaro will help with the food noise as I have read on here .

welcome! i've always done mine at around 6-7 pm after a shower and before bed - never had a single side effect. I also didn't have a huge amount to lose - 5 kilos came off in the first 4 weeks which was perfect.

Wouldratherbewatchingmafs · 26/03/2025 06:49

Week 3 weigh day!!! Time is flying by, and normally on a "diet" the time is crawlinggggg.
I've lost another 3.5lbs this week Star
SW: 14 stone 4.5lbs
CW: 13 stone 7lbs

I can't believe how much I've lost and I've barely noticed it! I am now, for the first time in 5 years, in the overweight rather than obese class.

Well done on everyone's bravery in getting started and their losses!

popdepop · 26/03/2025 06:55

Morning, diahorrea again for me last night and in waking this morning. All manageable and thankfully I work from home. I couldn't cope with the sudden urge in the office.

start date 21.3
SW 16 stone 9
CW 16 stone 3
GW 10 stone

Hopefully the side effects will ease.
Good luck today everyone

Yellowsubmarine55 · 26/03/2025 07:59

I'm having a pity party as feeling horrific this morning after not leaving the bathroom all night due to d&v all night.

I had high hopes and feel like giving up as I can't live like this each time due to work and kids. DH said we don't know about next week and how I'll react but at the moment it's staying in the fridge as Easter holidays are coming up 😢

GameOfJones · 26/03/2025 08:03

Oh no @Yellowsubmarine55 that sounds awful! Have you noticed eating anything in particular sets it off? I know some people have said they can't eat onions, garlic, spicy or fried food etc without digestive issues. Or perhaps just unlucky if you are reacting that way? I really hope it settles for you soon.

ShineyGreen · 26/03/2025 08:52

@Yellowsubmarine55 that sounds awful for you. Is the the first jab? Or have you had a few and it’s been the same each time? I think a few people on here have had similar experience but it has got less severe over the first few injections. Sorry you’re having such a tough time x

EchoNova · 26/03/2025 09:01

@Yellowsubmarine55 you poor thing that sounds awful!

I'm stuggling the other way with consitpation (really bad) so does anyone have any remedy's - I'm taking lactulose each morning which doens't really seem to be helping. I had all bran and a pear for breakfast, and have ducloax in the cupbaord for emergencies so might need to take that out I think just to clear it. I drink 3 to 4 litres of water a day so I'm at a loss. I think it's probably the increase in protein that is causing it.

Took my 3rd jab yesterday and weighed this morning and I've lost 3lbs! so I'm really happy that's 8lbs in 2 weeks which I'm thrilled about.

SW: 13st 7lbs
CW: 12st 13lbs
GW: 10st

akaFrosty · 26/03/2025 09:08

Good morning. First week done and have lost 5.5lbs. I'm very happy with that. Will do my second jab later today.

Start Date 19/3
SW 15st 8.5lbs
CW 15st 3lbs

I've been very lucky, side effects have been very mild and totally manageable. I had a sore neck on the first day, some fatigue on days 3 and 4, and a slightly upset tummy after eating some pastry. My peri mood swings have gone completely which I wasn't expecting. I feel happy and calm again which is wonderful.

@Yellowsubmarine55 So sorry to hear how ill you have been. I hope things improve for you, you must be exhausted today 💐

akaFrosty · 26/03/2025 09:14

@EchoNova I've been eating dates every day and have (so far) been regular. I chop them into porridge, or just snack on 3 or 4 each day. I've also read others mention prune juice as a remedy for constipation.
Congrats on your weight loss!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/03/2025 09:16

How awful for you @Yellowsubmarine55 do you know what has caused it? I really worry about severe side effects sbd that worry definitely affects what I eat. I've stuck to relatively plain meals, nothing too rich creamy or spicy. Whether that's helped or whether I'm lucky in not having those side effects I don't know

@EchoNova oh I feel for you. I am prone to constipation and can feel things slowing down a bit but avoided it thus far. I find branflakes helps, and prunes. I'm eating lots of fruit and veg, and like you, loads of water. A strong coffee helps too. Oh abd plenty of movement

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/03/2025 09:19

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I feel pretty good! I def feel more alert and more energy during the day but so tired at night, I'm getting much earlier nights and sleeping well too. I've lost the bloated feeling and feel slimmer, so its a shock to see I'm still fat 😂 I feel more confident too which is weird.

I'm so pleased I've started this journey, and I can really see an end in sight , even at this early stage.

MountainQueen · 26/03/2025 09:43

Good morning!
3 weeks today since I've started and 8lbs lost, quite happy with that.
My DH said my face looks slimmer although I don't see any difference myself yet. Still it's nice to hear that and someone is noticing changes.
I've been lucky so far with not having any major side effects however in the last week or so I feel extremely tired, going to bed very early and feeling tired during the day. Anyone else feeling similar and what do you do that helps?

PlexGirl34 · 26/03/2025 10:03

BabyHandsRobin · 25/03/2025 08:28

weighing in at end of 1st week - 4lbs lost!

SW 13.4
CW 13.0
GW 10.7

This stuff is amazing. I feel so .. calm! Totally chilled about food after years of frenzy and stuffing snacks. One of the most peaceful weeks for my brain in memory. @PlexGirl34 & @SharpOpalNewt how you doing?

Edited

@BabyHandsRobin that great we are still matching whoop. Jab 3 but wk 2 weight in tomorrow so I will let u know 🤞🤞🤞hoping to be in the 12 stones lol

Loveab123 · 26/03/2025 10:05

Morning everyone. Well done on all the losses and sorry to hear some of you are having really bad side effects still.

3rd jab due on Friday however I am away Friday and Saturday so I am holding off until Sunday. 5 pounds lost so far which is slow but I am happy with that. I don't have a huge amount to lose.

I've been reading everyone's comments regarding having a clear head. I am experiencing this and it's not just food noise, it's more than that. I feel like my brain has gone silent. It's a strange feeling and I'm trying to adjust to it. I'm such a busy on the go person with a million thoughts and to do lists going on in my head and I feel so different. I also feel I'm not talking 100mph to people anymore! Which is probably a good thing.

28Spring · 26/03/2025 10:11

Sorry to hear you've had D&V @Yellowsubmarine55 I have had D a couple of times and the first time was caused by a pain au raisin (which used to be my favourite mid morning snack and has now been banished from the house!) and the second time was the morning after have a few glasses of wine, the alcohol does not agree with the pancreas whilst we're on MJ I have found! It's usually something that you've eaten/drunk that our bodies just say "nope! You can't have that anymore! You really can't have your cake and eat it!!" Hope you figure out what it is and your side effects subside...

I was due to take my 3rd jab this morning, lost 8lbs in two weeks which I feel is a tad excessive but great at the same time, but I felt a bit queasy this morning so I thought I'd hold off and maybe take it tomorrow instead...will see if the food noise returns with a vengeance late today...

Good luck everyone and thank you for all the posts, it's really helping to keep me motivated and just feeling less alone in this journey - much appreciated!

dancemom · 26/03/2025 10:34

So I ordered my new 2.5mg pen (and received it the next day) because I was having great suppression and didn’t feel the need to increase. However yesterday I had a snack for the first time since I injected and today I’ve noticed the food noise is back 🙈

If this continues can I use my 2.5 pen to inject 3.75 instead?

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/03/2025 11:03

@soupforbrains how are you doing? I hope you've recovered from the side effects.

Amjam2025 · 26/03/2025 11:04

Took my third 2.5mg last night. No side effects but food noise is back today! I'm at work and there is a plate of home made chocolate chip cookie staring at me which up until now I wouldn't have been interested in!
Anyone had similar experience and its gone away again over subsequent days or did you have to wait til dose increase for it to disappear again?

I'm not sure if i'm just becoming a tad obsessive over the whole thing and that's what is making me think about food all of the time....i think to myself...ooh is my dose still working, am i thinking about food?...yes I am now!

soupforbrains · 26/03/2025 11:06

Yes thanks. Just like every other week I was crazy sick on Sunday the day after the injection and then totally fine.

I did have a dodgy stomach overnight last night but I 100% know that was because I did some emotional eating last night and over ate so it was sat in my stomach all through the night gurgling away.

I’ve got my next pen, sticking with the 2.5 dose because with what I’m dealing with moving up seems insane. And I’ve ordered additional needle tips so that I can do half and half doses and see if I can get rid of the nasty Sunday side effects. Will let you know how that goes.

Fatmumslim01 · 26/03/2025 11:12

Hope you feel better soon @soupforbrains .

I definitely think my jab has worn off now (first ever 2.5 jab was Fri) as I'm eating as normal today 😔. I'm home today as it's one of my days off and the food noise is loud! trying to distract myself with housework and coffee ,only an hour to go until lunch and I'm planning itsu gyoza which feels like a treat and are filling but really low calorie.

Seems like a long time until jab day (Friday afternoon!)

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 26/03/2025 11:12

Ah I feel for you. It must be awful! I hope the half and half dose work for you. I'm already debating whether to move up to 5. I suppose I see how I feel week 3. I may order 5 but do 3.75. I REALLY can't afford to be off work sick (I've had too much time off with stress/MH this year, so being monitored)

Emotional eating is understandable in the circumstances.

NewBoyMama · 26/03/2025 11:21

Thanks for the messages of support yesterday!
My first pen was delivered this morning (super fast, less than 24hours since I ordered) so I’ve bitten the bullet and given myself the first dose.
feeling super anxious about it but excited to get going!
