@UnderandOverwhelmed I think we have similar stats. I started at 229.5, now 213, aiming for 140-150 and a comfortable size 14. Im 5'7" and 57.

Im a bit shorter at 5'4.5, 140 in the past has put me at a size 10 but I'll need to do some hefty exercise.

cloudjumper · 19/03/2025 10:09

W12D1, 7.5mg jabbed last night, weigh day today - lost 1.4 kg since last week, happy with that! I've just looked back through my spreadsheet, and it turns out that my average weight loss per week is exactly 1 kg. I've only ever looked at my total loss, but have now added a weekly loss column (yes, I'm an Excel geek).
My biggest loss (2.3 kg) was the first week (but that's to be expected), since then it's been hovering around the 1 kg point. No apparent correlation with increasing the dose etc., if anything, I lost less on 5 mg than I did on 2.5 mg
🤔
Slowly but surely nudging towards that elusive overweight BMI...

Suppression on 7.5 mg is really high, I have to force myself to eat. I am really hoping that I can continue with mj when I have my surgery on the 2nd!

SW 100.7 kg
CW 89.9 kg
GW 70 kg

Has anyone found they have gone off certain types of food? I have always been a meat eater, love a steak etc. Now I mostly don't want to eat any meat, even chicken doesn't seem that appealing. Happy just eating veg. DH does all the cooking and he is a committed carnivore and cooks meat every day (does not consider it a "real" meal without any meat), but I am struggling to eat it and am mostly just eating the side dishes.

In fact I have rather gone off all savoury food, preferring things like protein shakes and bars etc. Having said that, I thought I fancied a piece of cake yesterday and even went into a bakery, but when I looked at it I just thought "nah, can't be bothered".

Yes, actually of course I’d be a 10 at 10 stone 🤯🤣. I must have been on the 🍄. I think what I meant to say was that I’ll reassess at a size 14. I don’t know what weight I want to be at my age. In my head I’ve settled on being able to buy a size 14 anywhere I like and feeling good in it. I’ve created a savings pot for a new wardrobe.

I’m hoping to get there by the end of June. Losertown has me at 85kg by then which is just over 13 stone.

Jins · 19/03/2025 11:08

I don’t expect to be a size 10 at 10st sadly.

I’ve checked the measurements I took yesterday against the M&S size chart and currently at 10st 5 I’m a size 18 bust, 20 waist and 10 hip.

My top half needs to try harder

You might be surprised! I'm 5ft 7 and late 50s, currently down to just over 11 stone and wearing size 10 now. I am an hourglass with a small waist but I'm sure you'll be smaller than size 14 at 140-150lbs.

Edited to say that I've now seen your qualifying post!

HeavyHeidi · 19/03/2025 12:42

@AmythestBangle I have gone off white carbs, bread and pastries especially. Which was always my weakness, could be doing super well on some kind of a lowcarb diet but then I meet a nice fresh baguette or croissant...But now, no interest. Not complaining.

DGonMJ · 19/03/2025 13:36

I’ve taken a leap and ordered a size 12 swimsuit for the big weekend away at the beginning of April. Hope it fits!

I'm also struggling with meat, which is really annoying, as I need to get my protein! I am resorting to daily high protein drinks, which isn't great from a UPF perspective - but needs must.
My DH also does all the cooking -yay!-, and I have to remind him every so often that we are want to reduce the amount of meat we eat... But we also have a 13-year old who eats like a horse and who isn't keen on veggie dishes 🙄 We end up eating lots of fish, which I also struggle to eat.
Come to think of it, I can't actually name a single food I really fancy at the moment! So bizarre! I can't even remember the last time I felt hungry...

Polkadotdash · 19/03/2025 14:22

I don’t eat meat or fish anyway. I am wondering if this is why my losses are non existent. Carbs are my big problem. So far I’ve managed to cut potatoes and rice out, but still eating pasta and pita bread. Otherwise I’m just eating veg and fruit and then I get very hungry.
Im longing for the moment of realising I can fit into a smaller clothes size. I’m very envious of you all trying on new clothes and getting the size down. I’m dreading the warmer weather as I’m Apple shaped and absolutely nothing looks right on me. In the winter I can hide in baggy jumpers and leggings. Without a waist, you just look like an egg on legs in the summer.

Zempy · 19/03/2025 14:26

That’s me @Polkadotdash I look like bloody Humpty Dumpty.

You might want to swap pasta and pita for rice and potatoes. Boiled, steamed potatoes still have nutritional value, and brown rice has some protein in it and is a whole grain.

HeavyHeidi · 19/03/2025 14:30

Apples, that's one thing I facy at the moment. Envy variety.

Polkadotdash · 19/03/2025 14:33

Zempy · 19/03/2025 14:26

It’s awful innit? No clothing manufacturers cater for us apples. Especially in the summer. Can’t do shorts, or summer skirts. Or jeans. Or big floaty dresses. And do not get me started on swimming costumes.

Jins · 19/03/2025 15:57

I don’t think I’ve gone off anything really but I’ve not bought any gluten free bread for weeks and don’t miss it. I don’t mind a bit of rice but don’t really fancy potatoes as much as normal. I’m leaning into cravings as they are usually your body telling you something and currently it seems to want bananas which is lucky as it’s the only fruit I’m allowed. I’ve never liked bananas much but I could eat a few green ones right now.

Other than that I’m enjoying meat more! Salmon too.

Zempy · 19/03/2025 16:12

I’m currently making a big batch of vegetable soup. I think I have been so focused on getting enough protein, I have put myself in danger of contracting scurvy!

Thelittlestranger · 19/03/2025 16:44

Enjoying salmon and chicken. Haven't eaten any bread other than sourdough or the odd wrap - just half for lunch today. How ridiculous is that? Can't even manage a whole wrap...but mostly I've stopped snacking on rubbish completely. That is the biggest change. Smaller portions and no snacks. I mean, they tell you that works. Who knew?! 😏

I'm finding suppression is more a few days more after the jab on 5mg, than on 2.5mg.

Loving all these NSVs.

I need to do some work on my face. Losing weight has made it look older - think I'm going to book a facial and investigate collagen.

OP posts:
MJalltheway · 19/03/2025 17:01

I'm still eating rice and pasta but only wholemeal and not very often and not very much.
ive also cut out UPFs completely, having a lot more veggie meals (chickpeas, pulses, dal etc) but concentrating on protein and fibre. I only snack on fruit and nuts and even then not very often.
still avoiding crisps completely!

cloudjumper · 19/03/2025 17:23

@Thelittlestranger oh yes, the face! I definitely started noticing some sagging (not convinced that this counts as a NSV 🤔). I'm not convinced that collagen really makes a difference, I've taken it in the past and not noticed any effects. I'm resigned to the fact that losing weight does make you look older, sigh.

Now that it's warmer, I will need to go over my wardrobe to see what fits how - I have so many tops I haven't worn for ages, which should hopefully fit me again/better now!

Jins · 19/03/2025 17:41

I’ve got a bit of face sagging going on and a few more wrinkles but I think I’m the oldest on this thread and have quite a relaxed attitude to my signs of aging nowadays. I grew my grey out a few years ago and now have very long grey wavy locks.

I’m considering getting it cut. Might be worth another pound of weight loss

RosaBaby2 · 19/03/2025 18:04

I've had an upset stomach first time this week, been 3 days now which is not great when working. I am hoping it's just because on Sunday and Monday I ate a large amount of fat, mostly in the form of Nutella. That level of greed was the old me.

Like I've previously said, moving to 7.5mg for definite on Friday and hoping it takes away the giving in to temptation.

I have gone off soup, even the thought of it. Mainly eat meat and sprouts/broccoli for every dinner and very low calories at lunch time in the form of Sugarsnaps, a light babybel and maybe a carrot.

Thelittlestranger · 19/03/2025 18:05

If I was grey I would definitely embrace it. As it is, I dye my mousy locks every month.

I'm trying to love my aging face. I really am 😂

Polkadotdash · 19/03/2025 19:09

Are you all getting bruising at your injection sites? I’ve got mini bruises all over my flabby stomach so I switched to the back of my arm and they are much worse. Looks like someone has punched me on both arms.

MananaMananaPenelope · 19/03/2025 19:32

No bruises here @Polkadotdash and I bruise like heck every month at the Drs. I pinch a bit of fat on my stomach and make sure that the pen isn’t pressed against my skin, only the needle in it. I’ve worked out that if I use my thumb to press the dose in I can do it easily. Maybe I’m thick but I had to work that out over three doses, before I was having to reposition my hand to press the whole dose in.

I haven’t gone off any food really, I can’t face the sickly sticky prunes I bought but other than that I can’t think of anything that’s changed.

LillethCrane · 19/03/2025 19:49

Urgh, 7.5mg feels like hard work… I was so cold today I had to wear my coat indoors and my teeth were chattering. Tonight I’ve felt really nauseous, I’ve barely been able to eat today- a small protein shake for a lunch and a few bites of dinner. I’ve not felt this bad after a jab so far…
