Are you all getting bruising at your injection sites? I’ve got mini bruises all over my flabby stomach so I switched to the back of my arm and they are much worse. Looks like someone has punched me on both arms.

I often bruise on my stomach - usually in an area with stretchmarks (which is most of it). I bruised both times I jabbed in my thighs, but I don’t do that any more. Haven’t tried arms yet. Stomach seems much easier to do and I don’t think it will ever be totally flat and firm.
I will never do directly under my belly button again. That was painful.

mince3point14159265 · 19/03/2025 20:03

I alternate sides of my stomach and luckily have only bruised twice on the right side, the rest have been fine. We sound like a bunch of junkies! 💉

HeavyHeidi · 19/03/2025 20:03

I had some light bruises on stomach a couple of times, but not on thigh.

Urgh, 7.5mg feels like hard work… I was so cold today I had to wear my coat indoors and my teeth were chattering. Tonight I’ve felt really nauseous, I’ve barely been able to eat today- a small protein shake for a lunch and a few bites of dinner. I’ve not felt this bad after a jab so far…

Oh this is what I’m worried about, going up to 7.5mg. Why does it make you so cold?

Pandora71 · 19/03/2025 20:42

I’ve had better success avoiding bruising by really grabbing up a handful of fat rather than just jabbing in.

I might have to try that. My husband did the one on my right arm and he jabbed it in like he was throwing a dart! Never thought of lifting the skin and doing it that way.

JoanCollinsDiva · 19/03/2025 21:17

Well done all the losers! Isn't it fab when you suddenly fit in old favourites you'd forgotten all about?

I've gone off loads of stuff - nothing much appeals. Today I've had half a cheese sandwich on wholemeal bread, some tinned pineapple and half a jacket potato with about 4 mouthfuls of bolognese. Nowhere near enough. I've got a constantly horrible taste in my mouth and most things taste weird. This is the hardest part for me atm - the lack of enjoyment in food, it feels a bit depressing! I'm hoping it might change depending on moving up/down doses. I think on 2.5 I was still getting some enjoyment from nice food, it's definitely been worse on 5mg.

Il be jabbing my first dose of th 7.5 pen at the weekend but I think il have to count clicks to lower the dose, it's not healthy to be eating so little. Can anyone tell me how many clicks 5mg would be from a 7.5mg pen? Thanks 😊

Jins · 19/03/2025 21:43

I make it 40 clicks @JoanCollinsDiva

Lilausaurusrex · 19/03/2025 21:55

Hi everyone 👋👋 checking in! I have lost a total of 29 lbs! So pleased! I have decided to stick to 5mg for the time being as I was feeling a. Lot more tired on it than previously 2.5. I have three doses of my current 5mg pen left!

I saw some people say they were off food, and I am too! I am fine eating fruit and veg but I’m having to force protein!

JoanCollinsDiva · 19/03/2025 22:05

Thanks Jins.

NSV tonight when I bought a ‘pair’ of PJs in Tesco that had been reduced to £4. I say ‘pair’ because the top is size 12-14 and the bottoms 8-10. I expected both bits to be evenly too small but planned on hanging on to them for when they fit.

They fit now! PJs are obviously fairly generously sized but the last pair I bought were size 16-18!

Upperroom · 19/03/2025 22:36

Nsv today also. I bought a jumpsuit from Vinted over Christmas as spring transitional wear (it’s lightweight viscose). It’s a 14 and it was so unflattering and tight to do up. Thought I may as well try it on today and it’s very skimming.. the colour is bad though so I’m going to dye it black.

a few days into 7mg pen - as I predicted think I’m doing better on this dose.. weird I know.. but I’m less tired and have more energy. Have not managed to eat much today. Going back to cravings further up thread - you all need to buy ryvitas ;)

NothankyouNigel · 20/03/2025 06:07

NSV - think I might have got a glimpse at a collarbone.

RockyisMYRhino · 20/03/2025 06:23

Weigh and Jab day for me and I’ve lost 1lb and finally made it to the next stone bracket (literally just by 1/2lb but I’m counting it!). NSV this week is that the strength workouts I’ve been doing are paying off and I’m lifting heavier weights than I’ve been able to for about 7 years now 💪

SW: 15st 1lb
CW: 13st 13.5lb
GW: 10st 7lb

BreezyPeer · 20/03/2025 06:49

Weigh and jab day today! (Although I actually did the jab last thing last night as I had an early today)
Another 3/4 of a pound off after a bigger loss last week.

I seem to be averaging out nicely at 2lb a week loss which is brilliant for me!
Good luck to everyone weighing today, xx

HeavyHeidi · 20/03/2025 07:16

@Lilausaurusrex that's a great loss, you must be feeling so much better!

weigh-in tomorrow and don't really feel I've lost a lot this week, we will see. Am in healthy BMI range now, so expecting the loss to slow down.

MJalltheway · 20/03/2025 07:25

I've been injecting myself at least weekly for nearly 10 years now (b12, not MJ!) and only very occasionally get a bruise. Always pinch up the fat though!

I've moved my jab to Thursday evening rather than Friday morning so will be doing my 5mg bonus dose later then 7.5 mg pen due to be delivered next week.

Ordered a couple of size down things in the next sale yesterday, only 2 pairs of trousers and 2 swimming cossies. Even if they don't quite fit yet, I will need them at some point. After my day in size 16 trousers yesterday, I have to admit I'm not quite ready for them! They fit but were NOT comfortable by the end of the day!

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 20/03/2025 07:53

Morning all. Week 12 day one.

SW - 214.3lbs
CW - 178.8lbs (1.5lbs heavier than a couple of days ago, but still a 1.1lb loss from last week)
GW 168lbs

Not sure what's going on with me this week, but I just feel a bit meh. I know a few of you have had a low mood through the process, and maybe it's just my turn, or could be because I'm due on in a couple of days.
This will probably sound odd, but I can obviously see the number in the scales is drastically different, my clothes are looser, although still in the same size, and what I see in the mirror is visibly different. But then I look at all the loose wrinkly stretch marked skin on my stomach, inner thighs and bingo wings and I'm just kind of thinking, is it worth it? I mean, I know the health benefits etc, but I'm really a starting to hate the way I look.
Added to that I seem to have had some sort of reaction to the last 2 jabs, I have a patch of discoloured skin on my right thigh still from the jab 2 weeks ago, not a bruise, although it did bruise horrifically. And I have the same on my left thigh from last week, which didn't bruise at all. So I'm actually wondering whether or not to take my jab today.
And does anyone else still feel fat? Like I said I can really see the difference, but I feel huge still.
Sorry to be a bit of a downer, I just needed to write it all out I think.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/03/2025 07:57

Comfort is king 👑 isn’t it @MJalltheway .

I bought another new suit this week, after vowing not to buy anything. I’ve got a couple of conferences I’m presenting at, really big deals for me. So I spent £100 on a cheap suit from Finery, I decided that if it makes me feel good/confident in front of a few hundred people then it’d be worth it. I did buy one the other week but I’m not keen on it, the trousers are a bit too wide/flappy and I’m not keen on the cut of the jacket.

Once I’m moving down through sizes I’ll be good for a while.

I’m planning on having a huge clear out of my very extensive work wardrobe at end of June and posting/donating to Smartworks.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/03/2025 08:00

Yes @Howinthehelldidthishappen , I’m 17.4lbs down today and still feel largely the same. Sometimes when I sit down my stomach feels less bulky than it did before, like there’s more room in there.

Polkadotdash · 20/03/2025 08:04

@Howinthehelldidthishappen your brain needs time to adjust. You’ve lost 36lbs in three months. That’s amazing. It’s going to take a while to get used to how you look now.

Polkadotdash · 20/03/2025 08:09

Am I alone in only having lost 4lb in 12 weeks? I was driving myself mad last night looking up MJ stories and every one of them talked about decent losses by now. I’m three pens in and it’s just over 1lb for each of them that I’ve lost. I can’t seem to find anyone where the losses are so minimal.

Jins · 20/03/2025 08:17

I still feel fat @Howinthehelldidthishappen. I’ve lost weight and a few inches here and there but not enough to need to size down and I don’t think it’s noticeable to friends and family yet.

My last major weight loss attempt was ages ago and was entirely driven by looks. Menopause was somewhere in the future and I was fit and healthy - just fat. This time it’s very different. I’m post menopause, developing aches and pains in places I didn’t think could develop them, my sleep apnoea stops me getting a decent nights sleep. On top of that I look in the mirror and don’t like what I see.

I probably won’t like what I see when I’ve reached a healthy weight but I’ll just avoid mirrors unless clothed and do my best to hide my bingo wings. I’ve had meh days along the way and I’ll have more I’m certain but at my stage in life I want to be as healthy as possible to do as much as I can and enjoy it. I’ve looked shit for 10 years, I’ll just look shit in a different way in the future but I’ll get more out of life.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 20/03/2025 08:19

Hi all, I'm a less frequent flier here at the moment whilst I find my equilibrium. Had no suppression at all on 3.75mg, (although at least my digestive system wasn't revolting) which meant was eating really badly for pretty much a week. Have now gone up to 5mg, but I'm staying off the scales for a bit.

@Polkadotdash I've lost more than that, but nowhere near what some other people have, and I'm not really seeing it in how clothes fit.

MananaMananaPenelope · 20/03/2025 08:20

I don’t know anything about really slow losses @Polkadotdash . I can imagine you’re a bit fed up with that.

Who is your prescriber? Ouskh phoned me for a chat after injection two when I was really unwell and I can see on the Ouskh group that they’re really supportive individually (off group just stories about the support given).

I wonder if you could have a chat with your provider about it.
