I haven’t lost weight for two weeks. I started out at 12st13 on 17 Jan and by 5 March I was 12st. I was so excited about seeing 11 on the scales but every day I stay at 12st 😢

What dose are you on boohoo? And have you done your tdee since you've lost weight?

HeavyHeidi · 18/03/2025 16:15

@DGonMJ it's interesting how similar we are, I seem to have a set point around 76 kilos and can stay there without too much effort. But going beliw about 72 has been almost impossible the past few years.

5mg. Yes, I have done my TDEE. My maintenance calories are 1887 and I never go above 1200.

2025istheyeari · 18/03/2025 17:41

@Polkadotdash so sorry, that’s bloody annoying! Are you tracking calories and do you know your TDEE? I have to track as know if I don’t my portion size will increase and that’s what led me to put on weight in the first place. Really hope things start to shift soon.

@Boohoo76 sorry for you too😩, I had a plateau and changed a few things round, is it worth looking at the type of food you’re eating maybe and seeing if you’re getting enough protein/ fibre? You may already be doing it but just a thought. Good luck to you both.

@Zempy ooh that sounds a good convo and super encouraging! keep us posted on the results!
well done @emmsyg and @HeavyHeidi and anyone else with losses/ nsv, woohoo!!

does anyone else find that needles from different providers vary in terms
of pain? I’ve just injected week 11, 3rd 7.5mg and used a Zava needle and it was much more painful, it was last week too!!

Polkadotdash · 18/03/2025 18:41

@HeavyHeidi ohhhh I didn’t see that thread. I can understand not inviting others to share their views.

Are you planning on moving up to 7.5? My tdee is th same boohoo but I rarely hit it - I'd say I'm averaging about 800 calories a day and I still only lost 1lb on Friday. So I wouldn't worry, there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason for how it comes off - but it should be in a downward trend. I'm not deliberately trying to eat so little - it's just everything is making me feel sick! The only thing I seem to quite enjoy is soup and fruit 😔 everything tastes funny.

Evening all, does anyone have experience of taking antibiotics whilst on mj? Google tells me it’s fine but just wanted to
check first hand experience

I had antibiotics in my first or second week, no issues and I got better. I googled it a lot and some suggested that a 7 day course may be better than 5 if you're on mj, but I got it from the pharmacist and I desperately wanted them to give me the antibiotics as I was so ill so I didn't want to risk them turning me away!!

No, I have bought another 5mg pen as the suppression was huge when I started on this 5mg pen and I had terrible indigestion. I am going away in a couple of weeks and don’t want to be in the same position on 7.5mg. I’m going to move up to 7.5mg after I’ve done another month of 5mg.

BigFatty · 18/03/2025 21:22

It's my third week on 7.5mg and out of nowhere I'm feeling so sick 🤢. I haven't had this symptom at all over the past 10 weeks. I haven't eaten in 24 hrs as every time I even look at food I want to boke!

Has anyone else had this randomly come on? I thought I would have experienced it at very start... or even at the start of a new dosage.

Off to bed with my trusty sick bucket lol. Honestly feel like forcing myself to be sick to see if that helps...

Pandora71 · 18/03/2025 21:26

I’ve had a very surreal day.

I’m on jab 11 and my third 5mg dose. Jabbed on Sunday and it’s now Tuesday. I really couldn’t face food today. I had two horrid work lunch sandwiches (equiv 1 slice of bread with coronation chicken), then later I ordered a healthy chicken dish from Itsu early evening and just couldn’t eat it - I sat for ages eating one edamame bean at a time with chopsticks and ended up binning 2/3 of it. I did have a packet of crisps later but more to settle my stomach and get some salt than because I wanted to eat. This is the strongest suppression I’ve felt since day 1… kinda came out of nowhere.

I did a little clothes shopping and was utterly shocked and what I could fit in to. I haven’t been measuring but not so long ago a friend altered a skirt for me with a generous waist measurement on my part of 38” and today I tried on some Levi’s shorts at 30” and they were a bit baggy. I still feel enormous but something is changing! I didn’t buy the shorts…

Ireolu · 18/03/2025 21:58

@Polkadotdash you shd hopefully have more success on 7.5mg and if not can move to 10mg.
The person who I spoke to about MJ before starting said they really struggled to eat at 7.5mg and stopped enjoying food altogether. This is part of the reason I stayed on 5mg for a second month. I get hungry still and I drink more fluids on MJ. I will probably go up at month 4. So far, I have lost about 10kg. Started on mid Jan. I'm pleased. I want to shift another 15kg. BMI will still be over 25 but at least it will be lower than when I started.

NothankyouNigel · 19/03/2025 07:35

Congrats @Zempy. 6 vials of blood is a lot! Do you know which tests you’re expecting to see a difference in?

I had 8 taken last month at 8.30 one morning (so pre food ) and was a bit 😬 at the amount - felt like I was donating for transfusion.

First week at 5mg. I think I’ve probably reached another set point which seems to be around every 5kg for me so I’ll probably hover here for a bit but hoping the increased dose will continue progress. Jab day is Monday, felt extraordinarily tired yesterday, a bit nauseous and the usual cold - I’m still needing my heating on, and don’t know if it’s a side effect or if it’s just cos it’s still bloody freezing!

Jins · 19/03/2025 08:37

Ooh. Excited to hear the test results @Zempy. Actually that sounds bad and very nosey. I’m excited to hear of overall improvements.

6.25mg still going well for me and I think I’ll start my 7.5mg pen with 50 clicks. I treated us to some steak last night as it looked gorgeous. One of my favourites but getting too expensive nowadays to go on the regular meal plan cycle. I had mine with a big flat mushroom, roasted tomato and salad and ended up leaving most of the tomato and about a quarter of the steak! DH had the same as me with chips and onion rings and polished the lot off. An hour later he had cheese and biscuits. Not long ago I’d have done the same 😆.

I’m so close to my first stone lost I may cry if it doesn’t happen this week. I measured yesterday and there’s an inch off my bust (suspect this is my underarm fat that has reduced), two off my ‘waist’ and one off my hips. For dressmaking purposes that’s the next size down. So that’s a NSV right there!

HeavyHeidi · 19/03/2025 08:39

Oh I really need to go get a blood test - I'm on thyroxine and the dose is also weight-dependent, so might need to go down. Overmedicated on thyroid hormone replacement is no fun at all.

Jins · 19/03/2025 08:53

Imagine party poppers and cheering for this next bit.

Morning weigh in and I’ve lost a stone! BMI 25.7 and body fat still obese but 14lbs has gone.

You’ve got to love a steak dinner 😆

UnderandOverwhelmed · 19/03/2025 08:58

Week 12, sticking with 5mg today. 3lbs lost in total this week which is great and I've hit the two stone mark! Just 4 more to go...

Very Well done @Jins 🥇. That’s brilliant.

Still struggling with my appetite here. I managed to eat 900 calories yesterday but it was a struggle and involved avocado.

Weight static today. I think I might be on my first bonus dose next week as I didn’t use it in the first pen, I can’t remember without checking, could be dose 8 or 9. I don’t have any plans to take more than 2.5mg.

MananaMananaPenelope · 19/03/2025 09:01

Well done too @UnderandOverwhelmed , that’s a tremendous loss already.

Thank you, I'm really pleased. I know I'm in for about a year on these jabs all in but it's nice to be a third of the way there as I'm sure it will slow down. Also nice for my weigh to start with a 13 now!

HeavyHeidi · 19/03/2025 09:10

Well done all losers!

DGonMJ · 19/03/2025 09:22

well done @Jins and well done @UnderandOverwhelmed 🎉🥇🥇🥇🎉

Sneaky mid-week weigh in and I’m down 400g today at 67.9kg which is a BMI of 24.9! Mini whoop for the European half of my DNA getting to ‘white person’ healthy 😂
My SE Asian genes can get back to work as we’ve got another 2 BMI points to go!

MananaMananaPenelope · 19/03/2025 09:43

Well, what a surprise. I'm going shopping in my local city today and just thought I would try on a pair of straight cut jeans from Autograph that I haven't been able to wear comfortably for about ten months for fear of cutting off my circulation or even bursting the zip at mid-day.

Room to spare friends, room to spare.

MananaMananaPenelope · 19/03/2025 09:45

@UnderandOverwhelmed I think we have similar stats. I started at 229.5, now 213, aiming for 140-150 and a comfortable size 14. Im 5'7" and 57.

MJalltheway · 19/03/2025 09:58

Well done @jins, @UnderandOverwhelmed and @DGonMJ on great losses!
NSV for me today too, I'm wearing my new (Vinted) size 16 trousers! They are stretchy and there's some serious muffin-top going on but we'll ignore that!
also had steak for tea last night, with charred tomatoes. Cheeky mid-week weigh in puts me at 0.6kg down but I never count it until Friday morning.
