Didn't want to lose you all, so have started a new thread.

And yes do check losertown whenever you feel discouraged. Yes I might have had a minuscule loss last week, but on average it seems to be quite accurate for me. And by summer, I will be a lot lighter!

myladyjane · 16/03/2025 12:11

Ahhh @Jins it wasn’t anyone in particular (and I think you look fab!). So apologies if anyone thought I was having a pop.

what I am doing is spending too much time doom scrolling in general and I do need to put my phone down. I am having something of a mid life crisis anyway (kids need me less, elderly parent, full on job).

thanks for the kind words - am not planning on stopping the mj or anything just finding it hard going.

@tinyemmy if you enjoyed classes, I would definitely consider signing up. It's often more fun to exercise with other people, also great for mental health. I have also plenty of equipment at home, and tons of exercise videos, but I would never do as intense bodycombat at home as I would at the gym.

Thank you! It's so difficult when you've spent so much money on the home gym (in order to save money on gym membership) to just not use it! I think I will sign up to the class and hopefully it will keep me motivated to do my own workouts at home. I've planned in a couple of strength workouts for Monday and Wednesday but think I might have to either get up early to do them or do them after work as I think getting out for a walk now that the weather is improving is really good for me. I know weights are too, but I enjoy the walking more!

Thelittlestranger · 16/03/2025 12:35

@IBloodyLoveMyBlanket @myladyjane I was thinking the other day that I couldn't believe it was halfway through March. I wouldn't have stuck at it this long without MJ. Totally understand the frustration - but we are all here for a vent if and when it's needed.

As we're sharing, I get really fed up that to get to the top of a 'normal' BMI I need to weigh as little as 9.5 stone because I'm short. To me that has always seemed so far away and it means I can eat so few calories. My body simply doesn't (apparently) need it. My mind seems to disagree 😂 I'm not even sure if I'll go 'that' low as I still can't work out how it's sustainable while having any fun - so I have some mental stuff to work through still.

cloudjumper · 16/03/2025 13:03

@tinyemmyI would also say to sign up for the class you enjoy - there is nothing worse than doing exercise you don’t enjoy, it’s soul-destroying (and you are so much more likely to give up). After being a horse-obsessed teenager, it took me literally years to find another type of exercise that I enjoy, but it’s worth trying. Ideally, exercise should not be a chore (at least that’s my view).

hi everyone, btw, thanks for the new thread!

Jins · 16/03/2025 13:06

Thanks @myladyjane and yes I can disguise myself in suitable clothes but it’s not healthy to carry weight around your midriff. I’m only 6lb lighter now so it’s going to take a while.

@Thelittlestranger I agree with you on how low the BMI range is for us shorter folk and can I add another issue? I’m quite envious of the pear or hourglass body shapes as they’ve usually got a lovely waist. I don’t think I’ve ever had a waist. I’ve just got a bit that bends.

Hello all 👋

dont be discouraged from posting @myladyjane , I'm in the same boat as you. I have 30kg to lose from my starting weight which is around 4.5 stone, I'm down 7.5kg so far. My HappyScale app estimates it'll take me till August, but that doesn't allow for plateauing so I'm expecting a full year to reach goal.

I tried Saxenda last year and had horrible side effects on it and gave up after 3-4 months. I haven't had anything like that on Mounjaro, so if you do find the side effects are too much for you, it doesn't necessarily mean you'd get the same on all WLI medications so might be worth considering a switch?

just been for a long drive with DS (driving test imminent!) and we stopped for lunch, I had a Bakewell tart which is about the first sweet thing I've had since starting MJ. Seems to be ok so far 🤞

there's a new Puregym opening up nearby soon, I've been pondering joining because they're offering it for £15 a month as an opening offer. Seems a bargain. as long as I go of course!

Seaitoverthere · 16/03/2025 15:54

Thank you !

UnderandOverwhelmed · 16/03/2025 16:06

@myladyjane I am in a similar boat, still four stone to lose so I'm definitely in this for the long haul. I've lost a good amount but I'm still most definitely a large lady right now!

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 16/03/2025 16:25

@myladyjane @IBloodyLoveMyBlanket Not to worry - I think I’m probably the slowest, with a loss of almost half a stone in total for 8 weeks. I’m just hoping that something clicks at some point and I start losing properly - I’d like to lose 1/2 stone a month, rather than in 2 months.

I move to 7.5mg as of tonight so maybe that will be the trick! I’ve not really had any negative side effects. I’m still overly interested in food. And I wouldn’t have said I have this suppression that people talk about, except the last 3 days of a jab, I get really hungry, so that implies some sort of impact on days 1 - 4.

RosaBaby2 · 16/03/2025 16:34

Today my eating has gonna back to pre MJ, at caravan not felt well (hay-fever) eaten the best part of half a jar of chocolate spread, bagel, cake etc.

Going home tonight.

Definitely going to start 7.5 on Friday!

Totally anecdotal but I’ve seen on a few groups some people say it didn’t really work for them until the higher doses, so I have my fingers crossed for you for 7.5mg 🤞🏻

Pandora71 · 16/03/2025 18:07

Hello team! Let’s GO!

sociallydistained · 16/03/2025 19:08

New thread!

CurlsandCurves · 16/03/2025 19:17

@myladyjane ive just caught up and it seems there’s a few of us who will never see 9 stone anything, and have 4 stone plus still to lose, you’re definitely not alone! My goal is anything between 12.5 and 11.5 stone. I got to 11.4 for my wedding over 20 years ago and maintained that until the wedding breakfast, lol.

I said this morning it’ll probably take me a year. If not more as there will be plateaus, gains, and weight loss slows the less you have to lose. Totally understand if you don’t feel like posting right now, but hopefully you’ll keep reading and getting support from here.

Keep going, we are all here for you.

sociallydistained · 16/03/2025 19:54

My goal is between 10.5 and 11. 11/11.5 and is be really happy anyway I also want some muscle so probably more 11 is a realistic goal.

JoanCollinsDiva · 16/03/2025 20:33

myladyjane · 16/03/2025 11:25

Just saying good morning and well done losers. I am thinking I probably won’t post much as I’m struggling quite a bit. My losses seem so slow in comparison to many and I’ve got a lot to lose (just over a stone down but probably 4 to go). When people are talking about getting to 8 or 9 stone something and I’d be happy with a number with an 11 in it it seems like a different world. I’m also suffering quite a bit with side effects - nothing major but constant sulphur burps and wind and it’s making me feel gross and unpleasant to be around. All very much a me problem.

I wanted to place mark so I can check in occasionally to see your fabulous losses from time to time though.

Are you on the tall side myladyjane? I know what you mean about everyone else seeming to be aiming for weights that seem minuscule to me - I'm 5"8" and big boned, size 7 feet & large hands. Once I get to 11 stone 10 il be in the healthy bmi category - if I even managed to get down to 9 stone I think I'd probably be dead before I reached it! And I'd definitely look awful.
We are all such different shapes, sizes, all hold our weight differently. So I hope you don't get disheartened but just wanted to say I do understand - I'm quite comfortably in a size 12 now at 11.12 but I still feel like a great big lump. MIL just sent me some pics she took today and my arms look really flabby 😞 everything is squishy and soft and blancmangey so I'm still not feeling good despite having lost 22lbs 🤷‍♀️ I'm just focussing on the health benefits for now and trying not to be vain!

HeavyHeidi · 16/03/2025 20:44

I made a mistake this evening. Was sorting clothes, leaning forward and had the bright idea to grab my stomach, just to check how much flab there still is. As I look already semi-decent when standing up.
Yeah, don't do that. 😁

JoanCollinsDiva · 16/03/2025 20:50

I was kneading my stomach in bed last night - it's literally the consistency of dough.

I remember squeezing my nanna's arms when I was little and telling her they were like pillows made of marshmallows and then wondering why she wasn't thrilled - now mine are going the same way I understand 😂

Peppermint oil capsules game changer for sulphur burps. Also avoid foods with high sulphur content. A stone is a great loss. Keep at it.

mince3point14159265 · 16/03/2025 22:55

Thanks for the new thread @Thelittlestranger😘

@myladyjaneI'm another one with a lot to lose. Probably at least 6 stone. There, I’ve said it, no hiding now! At the beginning I couldn’t even contemplate how I could face losing that amount, but after 12 weeks of mj, I am in a happy enough position to keep going. (And lucky enough that I can afford it; I recognise that not everyone is in the same boat).
As @RonMJsaid, the >5 stone to lose thread is wonderfully helpful to read; I’ve been lurking for a while!

Back home late last night so weighed this morning and did 2nd 7.5mg jab. W12D2:
SW: 15.13
CW: 13.10.4
Loss this week 1.6lbs

Suppose a loss is a loss but feel absolutely knackered after walking everywhere in a city known for its hills, coupled with DH being very pleased with himself for booking a hotel at the top of some famous steps. So every time we returned to the hotel we had to walk up said steps 🥵 Feel very aggrieved I haven’t lost more! <stomps feet> There’s no justice in this world! 😂

As you were losers!

MananaMananaPenelope · 17/03/2025 06:14

Well done @mince3point14159265 for a loss when you’ve been away.

I had a slow afternoon yesterday. I ate more at lunchtime than I normally do, some sushi a piece of ham and a couple of vine leaves. I felt so full in the evening that I downgraded my dinner plans to a chicken salad and added avocado to get to 1000 cals. Strange as it’s day 6 today.

I’ve been plodding along on 2.5mg and haven’t felt like that before.

98.6kg still this morning.

RosaBaby2 · 17/03/2025 06:41

I've another 6.5 stone to lose (started at 19st something)

Zempy · 17/03/2025 07:02

@mince3point14159265 just think of all the lovely fat burning muscle you will have built up!

I hope you allowed yourself some ice cream!

I am doing well on my big bonus dose this week (7mg) and am ready to go up to 7.5 this Friday. I have excellent suppression and side effects still manageable. I’m tired and cold basically. I’m one pound away from a two stone loss, so determined to get there this week.

Have a good Monday everyone.
