Do you have any other disinfectant? Doesn't have to be the wipes.

Oh really?
I do yes! Do you think some dabbed on cotton wool would be ok then?

Hi all, Just checking in. Have caught up on the thread and enjoyed reading everyone's updates.
I'm in a bit of a quandary.. I posted about really not liking the process anymore, hating food and the fact I was going to stop after this 5mg has finished (2 more doses).
Anyway, I seem to have totally turned a corner during the last week and I am back to how I was feeling before. (Good supression and enjoying healthy foods).

I can only assume my body has now built up a good tolerance to the 5mg?

I am now wondering whether to stick to my plan of stopping, or order a final pen to help me shed the last 12lb.
It's quite time sensitive as if I leave it more than a few days I'll likely have to go back to 2.5mg. (I had stockpiled in the earlier days and have stretched my pens out).
What shall I doooo?

My second issue.. I am due to jab tomorrow and I have run out of wipes. Has anyone jabbed without using them? I I know i should go buy some over the weekend but curious as to the risk if I didn't?

theres been a couple of times I’ve forgotten to use the wipes and it’s been fine! Obviously not ideal but I wouldn’t worry hugely about it.

im glad to hear you’ve turned a corner and feeling well. I’d be tempted to carry on if I were you!

Not a doctor of course but have done that myself

Jins · 05/04/2025 15:44

Hand gel works as well

Grecianrainbow · 05/04/2025 17:06

I’m extra thirsty and noticing high suppression on 7.5mg. Let’s see how this week goes 🤞

MananaMananaPenelope · 06/04/2025 08:37

Here’s to a good week for all of us @Grecianrainbow .

I’ve just been compiling my online shopping order - forgot this cookbook yesterday @2025istheyeari , but I quite like Simple too. On the menu this week from there is cod with a crab and herb crust and chicken piccata. The book has a pork chops with figs and Marsala that I love, but I make it with pork tenderloin (not a fan of pork generally).

I’ve definitely got my cooking mojo back. 👍🏻

HeavyHeidi · 06/04/2025 09:00

DH will be doing the Pescado veracruzana that @2025istheyeari recommended, lookign forward to that.
Right, gym time! I really love how much more muscle definition is visible now with less padding.

Laura7010 · 06/04/2025 09:00

Morning all, I woke at 4am with an aura migraine. I haven’t had one of those since 2018 when I broke my leg. Has anyone else experienced migraines as a side effect? It went with Anadin but not before moving to my other eye. I am thinking I did not drink enough yesterday and it was due to dehydration.

myladyjane · 06/04/2025 09:16

Urgh I’m ill. Not sure if it’s extreme hay fever or a cold and I don’t really care, I have a banging headache, feel shivery and snotty. The slight upside is that I am not going to work as a result (although my job is a Monday to Friday office job so the fact I was planning to work indicates how much I have on).

loving the cooking talk. Dd2 has instigated food club for me and her on a Saturday night. She’s an awful cook and for various reasons we don’t get to do much together but have a fab time when we do so this was a lovely idea from her. We are at entry level and had a very nice halloumi dish yesterday. With voluntary pulses and vegetables. From a teen!

myladyjane · 06/04/2025 09:18

@Laura7010 I hate aura migraines. I always trot this out but I started to have them in big clusters about a year ago and did some research and started to take q10 supplements as a result. Mine are stress/peri related. Since I started with the q10 I have had 2. I was having 2 a week.

workingbalance · 06/04/2025 09:21

@2025istheyeari thanks for sharing the advice from your provider which I will be taking up! My stomach is so sensitive at the moment but I do think onions might have something to do with it (I can’t eat them raw) and I’ve too been eating more bananas than usual when I’ve wanted to settle my stomach. I’m thinking that I might finally go up to 5mg this week as I can feel the suppression waning after 8 weeks on 3.75 but will try and be more aware of the food choices. I’m also home for a few weeks so can hopefully manage the side effects if any! Yesterday’s long train trip home from London was let’s say a challenge, one I’d prefer to avoid in the future!!!
On another note has anyone heard anything about the pills that you can now take rather than the injections that also mimics GLP-1? Caught my eye as although slower to work have less stomach issues side effects?

@MananaMananaPenelope and @HeavyHeidi loving sharing recipe ideas! Is that Ottolenghi Simple @MananaMananaPenelope ? Love the chilli fish with tahini in that book ( sometimes with the mint rice!) . All of those recipes look amazing, off to have a look, have a few Ottolenghi books! Love the dd and you cooking my lady Jane.

@myladyjane and @Laura7010 , oh no, hope you feel better soon. I get migraines occasionally but haven’t noticed more on MJ. They’re horrible, feel better soon.

I’m feeling much better today, just had shakshuka to set me up for the day. Have a lovely Sunday all and here’s hoping for a successful week!!!

myladyjane · 06/04/2025 10:00

dh has bought me tea and told me to stay in bed for an hour. He’s a good lad.

@workingbalance I thought the glp-1 pill was in clinical trials so probably a couple of years until available. I have great hopes of it in due course.

i think there is some kind of tablet form as a diabetes treatment only but I seem to remember either awful side effects or not very effective for weight loss or both. Not real alternative for the MJ in any event.

and there is Berberine which is a supplement (natures ozempic ;)) I tried that and it actually did seem to help blood sugar dips a bit and there is some evidence that it can do this. But its not a glp-1 in any way.

DGonMJ · 06/04/2025 10:32

Have brought my jab kit with me on the weekend away so have managed to do my bonus dose for jab #14.
Felt so wasteful pushing out 0.2ml of the syringe to get it to 5ml. That’s over £40! Wondering if I might keep in fridge next time and keep the leftover bonus for a split 6th dose with the next pen.
Good news is today the syringe didn’t hurt, so I’m wondering if the pain last time was down to where on my stomach I jabbed (directly below my belly button). And the whole process was much easier than 5 weeks ago.

It’s been a lovely weekend so far, I’ve had a swim in my new swimsuit, been for a walk, sat in the sunshine, chatted with friends, dressed for dinner, had a glass of champers, eaten well but not too much. Not calorie tracked and not weighed. So expecting a small gain when I get back - but worth it for a one-off weekend.

Jins · 06/04/2025 10:53

Best wishes to all those feeling under the weather and hopes for rapid recovery!

My date consumption related issues are recovering far quicker than they would have done pre-MJ. Weight now just over pre-date level so the inflammatory response is settling nicely although I’m still pretty bunged up. The pain has gone though.

I’d planned our favourite dish from Corfu (Briam) later and I’ll still make it but will swerve it myself and have something low residue instead. There’ll be plenty left over for later in the week.

I wish my children (who are all pretty much in their teens!) ate some of these meals you are all discussing. They are so fussy, and I've lost the will to cook anything different for them - or for us!!

Today is WI. Another 1/2lb off this week. Slow going, so took my full bonus dose from my 5mg pen which was slightly more than 0.6 at 0.68ml. Which I approximate at around 5.4 - is that about right? Next week I'll click through to the same amount. Can someone help with the formula pls? I ask this every month, this time I'll screenshot it...❤️

Today I'm about to exercise - maybe do some work, and try and relax ahead of a full on week of work. Sun is shining 🌟

Thelittlestranger · 06/04/2025 12:32

Thanks all - that means it was 5.6mg 👍

@HeavyHeidi sweet potato and mushroom are out in this house.

My 17 year old daughter has just seen my empty packet of MJ in my bathroom as she swanned in to use the sink. Made me feel a little sick as her immediate reaction was quite judgemental. I've told her I'll speak to her later - think I'm going to have be very open and honest with her about it all.

HeavyHeidi · 06/04/2025 13:43

I was just cleaning out my bathroom cabinet and sorting expired medication and supplements and got me thinking, that since I was quite young, I've been searching that magic pill. It was clear my body did not function like the bodies of people who could stay slim without much effort, so I always got my hopes up when another supplement promised that they have cracked the code. Fat blockers and all kinds of appetite suppressants, gut health pills, hormone balancers etc etc, I have tried them. None of them made a difference.

But MJ has. Finally.

Jins · 06/04/2025 14:31

Baby steps for me and I’ve downloaded Lazy fit, signed up for the trial and done my first session. I’m doing the seated exercises to build muscle, partly because I have a dodgy knee and partly because I’m, well, lazy 🤣

Reviews are marmite to say the least but the negative reviews just seem to say that money was taken even when the user cancelled the day before.

I don’t do gyms, can’t stand people. I don’t mind buying equipment for home use but I need to warm up to that idea so seated exercising seemed like a good start

myladyjane · 06/04/2025 15:53

@Thelittlestranger good luck with dd. I know you know but teens (even quite old teens) know it all and lack empathy because they lack experience and ‘other’ parents as a way to separate from them. Good to talk it through with her.

@jinsI have a dodgy knee too and have to be super careful on how I approach stuff. I do a very pathetic modified squat holding onto a door frame which helps me distribute my weight from being too acute on the joint (I look like a right twat) but it works so do shout if you want modification ideas.

Jins · 06/04/2025 15:58

Thanks @myladyjane. It won’t be long until I’m swimming again and I’m hoping that will help with taking weight off. I’m always at my least toned during winter months but now I’m a stone lighter it’s worse than usual
