I have woken up feeling much better after eleven hours sleep!!! Just a sore throat now which is manageable with copious amounts of tea.

Re jeans. Very Important Topic. I have eleventy million pairs in every size and shape imaginable. However, my goal is to look good in my ancient 501s from the eighties. I might even treat myself to a new pair and use them as a benchmark for not gaining.

I am off to NY next month and could get some decent jeans at much lower cost, but it’s too soon as OBVIOUSLY I will lose more weight as the summer continues. I might go crazy and buy some that are a bit too tight.

Going to get out of the house today for a little walk if I can. And blitz the mouldy bits of my bathroom. Hopefully the stuff my decorator recommended will do all the hard work for me whilst I’m out!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Foodwise @2025istheyeari , I am largely just eating what I usually do for dinner, things like cod puttanesca, salmon fillet with something green and rice noodles, chicken shwarmara (not too spiced), lentil moussaka. Something with king prawns usually features once a week.

Last night I had a flatbread with a big salad including grilled chicken.

I quite like Fast 800 recipes (but never follow them to the nth degree), making my take on this tonight.

This is one of my favourite cookbooks, I lived near Ruth Watson's restaurant when the book was published 20 years ago and have been using it ever since. It is fairly low carb.

Thanks @MananaMananaPenelope , yes I tend to use f800 and I also have that book! Love the spiced chicken and lentils from there and also went to her restaurant, it was fab!! Thanks so much, chicken shawarma a great idea. I’m also planning on making this this week https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/recipe/pescado-a-la-veracruzana ( sorry not got the hand of short links!) and going through my Leon salads book for ideas!

Feeling so much better now I’ve spoken to them and definitely would recommend, super impressed honestly!

discov · 05/04/2025 11:02

Agree re Oushk being brilliant. They really have nailed it with the support and customer service and I’ve ended up sticking with them for this exact reason.

I’ve hit a new low this morning and officially have less then 1 stone left to reach my ‘goal.’ Considering lowering it from 9st 7lbs to closer to 9st but going to see how I feel when I reach it.

I am still wobbly and need to do more exercise but hoping another stone will make a big difference (thinking about the kitchen roll analogy again!). My ddog has been having physio for an injury and we are building the walks back up again, so hopefully further into the spring/summer we can do some lovely long walks as that’s an exercise I actually enjoy!

Lovetoridemybicycle · 05/04/2025 11:08

@myladyjane Thanks for that, it's the mental bit for me that's the worst!
Also glad it's not just me on the collegen reaction. I will get a different one.

MananaMananaPenelope · 05/04/2025 11:09

Oh wow 🤩 @2025istheyeari . Small world, I was a regular at the restaurant. I was skinny - no need for a ‘diet’ cookbook back then, I just loved Ruth’s food. My cookbook is annotated from years of adjusting the recipes, things like ‘add half the tamarind, generous half, and lots more water’.

🤣. We only went once, my brother lives in Essex, so stayed with him and went to the Crown and Castle for lunch. It was delicious! I definitely wasn’t skinny when I went! Chicken and lentils is on our menu for this week!
@discov amazing!! Well done!!! I too need to up my exercise, massively! Am also hoping that my wobbles will get less wobbly as I go down. I’ve set my goal at the top weight for my weight range which is 11 10, so a stone and 6 pounds to go but I would really love to get to 10 stone 13, don’t know why and will see how I feel when I get there 🤣. You
must feel fabulous!!!

mince3point14159265 · 05/04/2025 11:55

Morning all! Loving all the recipes & book tips, thank you! Are you talking about the Crown & Castle? If so spent a fun night there for a friend's hen weekend many moons ago; unfortunately it was pre Ruth and we were probably concentrating on alcohol rather than food! As you say @MananaMananaPenelope small world! 😅

Sorry you're still feeling rough @2025istheyeari but it sounds like Oushk are really good at support, so hopefully their advice helps.

@Lovetoridemybicycle don't worry, you've got lots of good company here! Still a way to go before I even hit overweight territory! 😩

Weigh in time for me, week 15, day 0:

SW: 15.13.0
CW: 13.2.0
Loss this week 3lbs

Did bonus jab but restricted to 0.6ml as I'm going to stick with 7.5mg for the next month and see how that goes.

Does anyone know if you can switch provider once you go below 30 bmi? Don't know whether to switch before so that I can find someone (probably Oushk?) with a better maintenance policy than Medexpress. 🤔

mince3point14159265 · 05/04/2025 11:57

Ah! Hadn't refreshed the page; it is the same place! Was very much old skool pub back when I went! 🤣

Thank you! I look great in clothes but not so much without. Although it’s only dh who will see that so does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?! I have just ordered a size 28 waist pair of jeans to try as the next size up is hanging off me 😳

I think you can switch as long as you provide evidence of your previous prescriptions. I've been taking a photo of the boxes every time they arrive for this exact reason. I'm using Voy for now and really like their support and meal analysis but I know I will have to switch at some point because they don't do maintenance (also one of the most expensive 😬)

HeavyHeidi · 05/04/2025 12:07

Ooh recipe talk - I love all the Roasting Tin series. Loads of veggies and i have not had a disappointing meal out of those books yet. And easy, all in one pan and I the oven.

Exercise-wise has been a good week, gym 4 times and may go tomorrow as well. It really makes a difference, was getting flabby bingo wings initially buy arms have now nicely trimmed up.

Jins · 05/04/2025 12:19

@mince3point14159265 i switched to Oushk at 27.6 BMI. No problems at all. You’ll need evidence of your prescription and be prepared for a lengthy time filling the form in. Just don’t press the back button when you’ve nearly finished or you’ll have to do it all over again. You’ll probably need to book a weight verification call as well.

mince3point14159265 · 05/04/2025 12:21

Thanks @Jins & @MJalltheway 💐 Can put that one on the back burner for a while then!

2025istheyeari · 05/04/2025 12:50

Ooh @HeavyHeidi i had t heard of those recipes before but had a look and they look fab, thanks!

Thelittlestranger · 05/04/2025 13:22

@mince3point14159265 I switched to Oushk for this jab under 30 BMI - super easy.

Re jeans - had to buy some a month ago as my luggage was lost on one of my trips. Bought 501s as they were cheap in the country I was in - they are now too big for me. So definitely size down...

I almost bought a pair of Levis on my last business trip, 725 high rise, they were so flattering. But was also worried that they will be too big in no time. Really have to buy a pair of cheaper ones, all my usual jeans are too baggy.

discov · 05/04/2025 13:36

My friend gave me some black Levi’s last year and they were the best jeans I’ve ever had! I always struggle with jeans as I have a really small waist compared to my hips/arse/thighs. Levi’s has brought a new style out which has an adjustable waist which I want to try when I get to goal. I’ve been rebuying my old faithful Monki jeans on Vinted as they are the only cheaper pair I’ve found which fit me reasonably well and don’t have a huge gappy waist. Thankfully can pick them up for less than a tenner!

Zempy · 05/04/2025 13:38

Public Service Announcement 🚨

The HG bleach my decorator suggested has completely changed my bathroom. I just sprayed, went out for an hour, came back and showered it off. Gleaming!

My house smells like an indoor swimming pool, even from the street, but that’s a small price to pay! Recommend wearing a mask when in close proximity.

HeavyHeidi · 05/04/2025 14:01

@discov same problem - I have a pair from this brand that works well. Of course too big now..

I like this, these look like normal people with good thighs not the skinny things in most pictures. I have half a chance to fit these. I also suffer with small waist, generous hips and thighs!!

MananaMananaPenelope · 05/04/2025 14:26

@mince3point14159265 - another one of us! I still remember the gorgeous freshly baked bread.

One of my DC can't eat certain things, dairy being one of them, the recipe book is great for that.

Jins · 05/04/2025 14:30

Levi’s have never worked for me and goodness knows I’ve tried over the years. I find the men’s version fit better as I have no difference between waist and hip measurements, whatever size I am. Can’t be doing with the fly opening the wrong way though.

Jeans are on my list of things to try to make. I have the denim and I have the pattern but I can’t face doing all the fitting measurements while I’m changing shape

UnderandOverwhelmed · 05/04/2025 14:45

Urgh, I've eaten something that very hasn't agreed with me and my bowels have been water the past two days! I think it was lentils. Feeling quite sorry for myself

Randomusernameforcode · 05/04/2025 15:19

Hi all, Just checking in. Have caught up on the thread and enjoyed reading everyone's updates.
I'm in a bit of a quandary.. I posted about really not liking the process anymore, hating food and the fact I was going to stop after this 5mg has finished (2 more doses).
Anyway, I seem to have totally turned a corner during the last week and I am back to how I was feeling before. (Good supression and enjoying healthy foods).

I can only assume my body has now built up a good tolerance to the 5mg?

I am now wondering whether to stick to my plan of stopping, or order a final pen to help me shed the last 12lb.
It's quite time sensitive as if I leave it more than a few days I'll likely have to go back to 2.5mg. (I had stockpiled in the earlier days and have stretched my pens out).
What shall I doooo?

My second issue.. I am due to jab tomorrow and I have run out of wipes. Has anyone jabbed without using them? I I know i should go buy some over the weekend but curious as to the risk if I didn't?
