I’ve broken into the 14 stone something barrier this morning folks! Only just but really happy about that.

9.1 kg or 20.1 lbs lost, 9 injections in.

14st 13lbs. 😍

Interesting fluctuations this week, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t miffed by a 2kg gain at the weekend. I’m over that 🤣.

I think I’m going to do another 3.75mg this week.

I’ve eaten out twice this week (once at my favourite restaurant), but have eaten one meal a day, whatever I like, once a day. 1200 calories ish. I think that it seems to work for me, work is hectic I don’t really notice not eating lunch, I’ve drank 2l of water with electrolytes and two cups of coffee during the day.

Jins · 04/04/2025 07:34

Hats off to all you time and energy jugglers! I have been there and now I’m through the other side I truly wonder how I managed. I too had the big job, not in the city but in a heavily male dominated profession at a time when most women in the industry were in admin roles. I had to work my socks off to be taken seriously.

Juggling work and the bulk of the child related logistics was breaking me. DH was and is a great Dad but his on call rota at the time was brutal and it was just impossible to rely on him being around at all.

The financial crisis of 2008 was a game changer. In August my team were swamped with work and in September we were scratching around for things to do. I limped along until 2011 when it was my turn for redundancy and I think I spent the first week of my garden leave asleep!

Looking back though it was the right thing to happen at the right time. I set up my own consultancy, poached all my former clients and a few more and was able to manage my time far better.

A bit rambly I know but just wanted to say that sometimes it’s good to drop the safety net as it’s hard to think of solutions when you’re in the situation that caused the problem in the first place.

Gosh! I’m really glad I’m retired! That gave me the shivers to type 🤣

Seaitoverthere · 04/04/2025 07:47

1.4lb loss this week which I am very pleased about as been away for a couple of days as was silver wedding. I have eaten cheesecake (not much as couldn’t eat it all), been for curry, pizza and tiramisu. Did walk loads and kept roughly tracking calories so knew I was fine.

LillethCrane · 04/04/2025 08:02

Thankfully I got the whoosh I was hoping for this morning- 3.5lbs off. That takes me to 2.5 stone in total so I’m half way to my 5 stone loss goal. Aiming for the rest off by end of October when I go away for a week.

I saw my mum the other day and she said she’d seen my sister who I’ve not seen in a while. I asked how she was (meaning in herself, how’s life treating her) and mum replied yes she looks good, she’s lost a lot of weight. Why is weight the most interesting part of a person?! Or maybe I’m bitter as mum hasn’t noticed my weight loss 😂

MJalltheway · 04/04/2025 08:31

@HeavyHeidi as an alternative to sports bras, have you seen the boobuddy? I tried one when I was doing kickboxing and it worked really well - boobuddy
Alternatively, I really like the sports bras from M&S, don't know if you can get delivery to you? This is the one I have (in a couple of colours!). I'm a 34/36 GG/H

@MananaMananaPenelope 🙌 for a new stone barrier!

weigh day for me today
SW 101kg
CW 90.8kg
loss this week 1.2kg
10.2 kg so far AND reached 10.1% of body weight lost! Feeling great!

TicTac80 · 04/04/2025 08:35

Morning all!! Slightly smaller weight loss this week for me. I think I know why...haven't drunk as much water or taken my Mag Citrate (due to my shift pattern). I'm not too bothered though (about how much weight lost) as I am almost at goal weight (still unsure if this should be 60kg or a bit under that!). I've also trialled NOT diarising everything I eat, and not weighing myself every day, just to see what difference that made (I might just do both 2-3 times a week instead going forwards).

Zava approved my order for latest pen this week (I'm at 7.5mg at the moment, but new one will be a 10mg pen), so that should arrive soon. I also got a message from my GP yesterday, saying that I should let them know when I finish taking the MJ. I have a feeling that 10mg pen after the upcoming new one will be my maintenance one (does anyone know how long people are on the maintenance dose?). How is everyone doing?

I went to see my big brother on Sunday (he's in the country and it was a big birthday for him). My little brother was also there, and a couple of my big brother's best mates (he's 15yrs older than me and his mates have known me since I was tiny). We had a lovely family roast...with cheesecake to follow! I took a small portion of both courses and was fine (and full up!). In old days, I would have thrown caution to wind and really stuffed myself (having English roast is a real treat!) but if I did that now, I'd be sick and feel like crap for AGES! My brothers commented on the weight loss, but not in a negative way, both said that they'd worried about the weight gain but weren't sure how to say their worries, as they didn't want to upset me (they knew I'd been trying hard to shift the weight over these past five years).

Stats today:
CW: 61.05kg (dipped down to 60.8 and then went up agin in the week), BMI 22.4, Fat 30.6%, Visceral fat 6, water 47.6% (it's a hell of a difference from where I was at the end of December, which was higher than my SW in early Jan!)
SW: 76.1kg, BMI 28, fat 36.4%, visceral fat 11, water 43.6%
GW: who knows! I'd thought 55-60kg (my previous weight range), but not sure. I'm still getting the odd comment from colleagues about being like a POW camp inmate but I point out that my pre-menopause weight was actually less than what I am now, and that seems to shut them up.

Does anyone else find that they still eat a bit more on day before the new dose? I still have to sort of force myself to eat more anyway, but I ate a good breakfast (protein bagel, fried egg, bit of cheese), and then had a bacon and avo salad for supper. Also had a snack last night whilst I was watching some TV (couple of slices of Leerdamer and some grapes - very tasty!). Also, does anyone find that they eat a bit more in the day when they do make themselves a decent breakfast/brunch?

HeavyHeidi · 04/04/2025 08:37

@MJalltheway thanks for the recommendation! M&S delivers here but I now need 30 back and most bigger cups tend to start from 32.

DGonMJ · 04/04/2025 08:38

Wow @Jins what a story. There’s a Netflix series right there.

Am off for the big party weekend later today, so am counting today’s weigh in as official.

SW 79.6kg
CW 66kg
GW 62.5kg

Loss this week 0.6kg - which I’m pleased with considering I’ve been on my period. Have had between 1100-1300 calories, with the exception of yesterday when I had 1500.

Reading the ND chat with interest. I don’t think I’m ND, although as DS is he’s got it from somewhere…both DH and I are risk averse introverts, DH more than me.
I definitely think MJ had an initial impact on my procrastination tendencies. For the first time in my life I didn’t feel ‘lazy’. But that seems to have worn off and I’m back to feeling too knackered/brain dead to do anything at the end of the day. Although I am better in the mornings now.

Zempy · 04/04/2025 08:39

@JoanCollinsDiva sorry you are ill. I also have The Lurgy and haven’t slept for two nights. I’m due to go to a friends for dinner tonight, and ordinarily I’d cancel, but Sod’s Law, I had to cancel plans with her last two times we were due to meet, so I feel like I have to go. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I’m ND and find this sort of situation very difficult.

Well done @MananaMananaPenelope 😍

@LillethCrane do you think she did it deliberately? It’s the sort of thing my mother would do, just to be a bitch. Ignore my weight loss and big up my sisters..

Absolutely dragging myself through the day. Going to stay in PJs tomorrow.

Boohoo76 · 04/04/2025 08:41

Last weigh in today before I go on holiday tomorrow and I have lost a total of 17 pounds in 11 weeks. I will admit that I am a tiny bit disappointed that I didn’t get to 21 pounds (i.e. 1.5 stone) but I do know that I wouldn’t have lost this much without Mounjaro. It took me six months last year to lose 7 pounds. Hopefully will get to my overall target by my next holiday in August!

SW: 12.13
CW: 11.10
GW: 10.7

DGonMJ · 04/04/2025 08:46

@Zempy you could postpone the dinner but immediately set a new date for it, and offer to have it at yours by way of apology.
I would be uncomfortable if someone came over to my house knowing they were unwell.

HeavyHeidi · 04/04/2025 08:46

That's what mj has changed for me. If I had been restricting my food intake to my current levels and only lost 300gr, I would have definitely thrown in the towel and eaten a tub of ice cream. Now I don't want to do that, can just continue and see what next week brings.

myladyjane · 04/04/2025 08:48

@MJalltheway I did t realise but we are almost weight loss Twinnies (this is clearly a tongue in cheek reference for people who member due date/wedding Twinnies - I am so mortified anyone could think I am serious I feel the need to spell this out).

our starting weights are nearly the same and I’ve lost a kilo less and am at 9.8% of my body weight lost. We are da man!

moving back to old money, 3lb off today and I am about 5lb away from my first proper target which would be the next stone down, comfortably into the class 1 obesity numbers and a couple of lbs off 2 stone. Just started wk 12 and 3 jabs left in my pen so I would be over the moon if I could get there on this pen. Not counting chickens as I seem to go slow, slow, sts, whoosh and this is whoosh week but it would be lovely!

HeavyHeidi · 04/04/2025 08:48

@Zempy I think it's a good idea what @DGonMJ proposed - I think people are more understanding of not wanting to spread bugs around nowadays.

HeavyHeidi · 04/04/2025 08:49

and @DGonMJ is my weight loss twinnie 😀

Zempy · 04/04/2025 08:50

DGonMJ · 04/04/2025 08:46

@Zempy you could postpone the dinner but immediately set a new date for it, and offer to have it at yours by way of apology.
I would be uncomfortable if someone came over to my house knowing they were unwell.

Yeah, I feel bad about possibly infecting them, and one of her DDs has asthma.

I couldn’t offer to host her here, I can’t have visitors unless it’s absolutely unavoidable (see ND) as it stresses me out.

I will see how I feel later. So annoying.

MJalltheway · 04/04/2025 08:54

Ahhh @myladyjane twinnies! ❤️ 😂
it's a great feeling to get to 10% lost! (incidentally, I did a kettlebell workout yesterday with a 10kg kettlebell. Couldn't do all the exercises with it, it was way too heavy. And THAT'S what I've been lugging around!)

Upperroom · 04/04/2025 09:01

JoanCollinsDiva · 03/04/2025 21:53

Hello all 👋 checking in again after my little holiday - just catching up with everyone's progress.

So I did a 2.5mg (20 clicks) jab of my 7.5mg pen (sunday before last I think - I've lost track) before I left for Morocco as I wanted to err on the side of caution in case of tummy trouble whilst away - and phew, thank goodness I did bc I had a lot of gastro type stuff whilst away and hardly ate anything. I'm not sure what was the Mj, the food/drink over there or maybe tummy issues/bloating from the plane but it wasn't pleasant and the second and third day I felt quite rough. Still managed to have a really good time but had to run to the toilet quite a few times! We also had to forgo a couple of trips we had planned as I was worried about the hiking involved and proximity to a loo when feeling rough so we decided to go to a country club on those days instead which was gorgeous and I'm guessing much more enjoyable!

Absolutely everything I ate/drank went right through me though 🤢 I think I started to get quite dehydrated and was craving salt - managed to scarf down a big bag of Lays potato chips one day and that was all I had all day.

I didn't take my pen with me and bc of aforementioned tummy issues didn't jab again until Tuesday (usually do a sat/sun) and did a 5mg (40 clicks) of my 7.5mg pen as I don't feel ready to move up to 7.5 yet. I also will weigh tomorrow after not weighing last week and to be honest I don't feel like I've lost anything despite hardly eating whilst away. I feel bloated still, but I shall see in the morn!

I hated every single photo dh took of me whilst away and feel I look much fatter than I do when I look in the mirror. I think il have to definitely lower my target quite a bit to get where I want to be. Does anyone else feel like they're just not built to be thin? Morocco was full of really thin, tanned French women and I felt like a cart horse by comparison 😞. It's so hard to look elegant when you're 5"8" and big boned with skin the colour of corned beef 😂

I also need Botox asap - am noticing I look really lined around my eyes when I smile - not something I've ever had before 😖

Sorry, really long moan there but I'm feeling a bit pissed off! I shall persevere though - at least I know I can do this with Mj! Would've definitely given up by now otherwise.

I do know what you mean about doubting if one can be skinny due to skeletal structure! I’ve also lowered my target. Was 9.7 - now it’s 9st.

how old are you? I started a little Botox around 40 and I don’t care what people think - its helped my confidence hugely. Re skin tone - I say embrace it! Have you had your colours done? That makes a huge difference!

Jins · 04/04/2025 09:02

@DGonMJ everyone has a Netflix series in them!

Week 12 official weigh-in day and my body has gone and sabotaged any hopes for a ‘normal’ BMI by raising the stakes from a STS yesterday to a 0.4lb gain today. So hopefully next week.

SW - 11st 2 BMI 28.2
CW - 10st 1.8 BMI 25.1
GW - 9st BMI 22.3.
Loss this week - 1.6lb

GW may move upwards. The joy of post-menopause skin is that it really doesn’t do the whole snapping back thing that it used to and my arms in particular don’t look great at the moment. I’ll keep an eye on it but at the same time I’m not going to stress about it too much as I’m doing this for health not looks after all.

It’s funny but most people I know have been shocked when they found out my age as they’d put me up to 10 years younger. I now know that a steady weight gain had been the main factor in keeping me looking younger 🤣

UnderandOverwhelmed · 04/04/2025 09:43

@Clovesandcats not a lawyer an accountant (originally anyway), I work for a big consultancy but these days not client facing.
I'm definitely retiring early and maybe then trying something new, but not for probably 12 years yet! Retirement sounds wonderful but most of my fond thoughts of it involve coffee and cake, which probably isn't the best goal to have!
I'm hoping to keep the weight off this time, I can't keep yoyoing like this every few years. I have high hopes for staying on maintenance doses long term.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 04/04/2025 09:53

I’m very pleased for all of you who are doing well and seeing results, both on and off the scales.

I’m feeling a bit blue however. I’ve lost in total 9lbs and I think this is week 12. I’m on my first week of 7.5mg but yesterday ate too much chocolate and I can’t understand why this effect of a lack of interest in sugar hasn’t hit me. I’m getting some suppression and eating a lot less, but often get hungry mid to late afternoon. I could cope with all this if I were seeing a result on the scales.

Anyway, sorry to moan and to bring the mood down but just feeling pretty miserable.

BlueLimes · 04/04/2025 10:24

Well done on all profess.

@0ncemorewithfee1ing I feel a bit the same, it’s so slow, and I still want chocolate etc. I think we just have to keep going, increasing our dose.
9lbs is good and the jabs make it a bit easier?

BlueLimes · 04/04/2025 10:42

*progress.

cloudjumper · 04/04/2025 11:07

So I had my pre-op meeting with the surgeon yesterday to discuss my upcoming hysterectomy. She was super-supportive of me taking MJ and mentioned that they see a lot of patients on it now. I can continue with it throughout, won't have to take a break from it, yay :-)

One interesting thing she mentioned (almost in passing) is that they usually recommend that patients with a BMI of 35 and over lose wait before having surgery. It does make sense, but no one has every mentioned this to me before (which I'm a bit miffed about), and I am now doubly glad that I took the decision to start MJ - if I had rocked up with my starting weight, they might have pushed my surgery out even further! I have been waiting for over a year for this, I would have been so devastated.

So keep at it, everyone, one more benefit to be added to losing weight!

Grecianrainbow · 04/04/2025 12:37

SW 14st 7.5lb
CW 13st 0.75 lb -2.25lb loss (- 1st 6.75 lb total)
GW 9st 4lb

It’s really heartening to hear the that there are so many people with good reactions to the jabs. The gossip in my work is all about the bad stuff and I am not letting myself be a topic for that.

Had a bit of a whoosh and lost over 2lb this week. I’ve just started on the 7.5mg pen and hopefully this will continue closer to 1.5-2lb movement than the 1lbs I had the last few weeks. I know slow and steady loss is good but I’m ready to drop some dress sizes for summer!

edited to add, I’ve lowered my goal weight to give a bit of leeway for target. I might adjust it again closer to the time.
