Another here who gained an lb mysteriously last week. Thursday morning I weighed 11.6.8 - my lightest since September 2008 - and on Friday I had gained 0.6lb (then on Sunday I gained 0.4 extra). Considering I spent Thursday stomping up and down hills and ate within calories AND turned down cake twice, this seems a little unfair. To whom can I submit my letter of complaint?

(I’ve lost the pound since so yay, but I’m left feeling irked that I’ve had to relose a pound when I could have been losing one that I hadn’t previously lost)

oh and mother didn’t say anything about my weight loss.

myladyjane · 31/03/2025 12:50

Thank you to those who mused back at me. That makes sense - like you say we still get pain relief from nurofen don’t we. Similar to you @DGonMJ I work on the light suppression basis. I do still get food noise but it’s useful - I get it when I am hungry and need to fuel. It’s my first sign that I need to eat and actually is worth respecting as it means I don’t leave it too late and overeat as I’m too hungry. What is funny now is the food noise tends to be for healthy nutrition not cake or quick release carbs. It was just a funny chat with dh this morning - I’m in the lucky financial position that I don’t have to have an end date for this so plan to keep on keeping on but obviously if things stop being effective you don’t want to throw good money after bad.

@jins- look at these whooshes lady! You are such a good example of finding what works for you.
@Upperroom - I am so pleased he’s been discharged. Here’s to a more restful week for you all.

i too often think of retirement (am 50). Have ruled myself out of one last big promotion because I CBA and the effort vs reward is not worth it but I am raging against the dying of the light a bit. 5 years til dds should be through uni then I can reassess…

HeavyHeidi · 31/03/2025 12:57

Remember those people so concerned about out health now that we're losing weight? Had to laugh, as had a lunchtime bodypump class to teach. One of the regulars there I had not seen for a while came later and said that I have lost a lot of weight, it's... hopefully nothing serious? 😁
But he did then say I'm looking great, so not one of the fake friends.

Laura7010 · 31/03/2025 13:23

Today I finally moved out of an ‘obese’ bmi! Whoop! I am also having trouble keeping my skirt up so today is a win win.

I’ve worked out I have lost 12.4% of my body fat and I have 17lbs left to go until my final goal. I’m working towards the next 9lbs at the moment. Hoping I get to target before summer, starting to feel a lot more like myself

Jins · 31/03/2025 13:45

Fab news @Laura7010.

@myladyjane thanks but I’m a slow and steady loser and whooshes are small but joyful when they happen. All I’m doing is what has worked for me in the past with the MJ to help out with willpower.

Anti NSV today when I caught sight of my upper arms in an awkward position. Not just bingo wings but bingo wings with wrinkles. Mind you at 61 it was never going to spring back like youthful skin does.

So pleased your son has been discharged.

I really relate to what you said about the thought of eating chocolate every night being so alien now. It really is! I find it strange when someone offers me a packet of biscuits as my answer now is ‘obviously I’m not going to eat those’ - who even am I?! Previously I would have eaten the packet washed down with a bottle or more of wine.

What will we be like when we’re not on the jab anymore I wonder? I’m hoping the lightness in our bodies will outweigh the need to scoff - and our old habits long gone.. 🤞🏻 this is the hope!

thanks everyone for the well wishes!
I forgot to mention also that 7.5 has definitely put me off wine… unheard of!

MananaMananaPenelope · 31/03/2025 18:10

@Upperroom , pleased your son has been discharged too, my DP was also discharged at the weekend, very thankful for that.

Well, my new bin store did not arrive 🙄, driver problems, old one dismantled (huuuuge spiders) and I made a start on my garden before the gardener comes on Friday to help me plan it out a bit better.

I've still got a pounding headache, I still think it is food colouring related. I had to have a mid afternoon nap, it was so bad I felt nauseous.

I've had 3.75mg, 45 clicks, the biggest dose for me to date.

Interesting %s @myladyjane , before my gain the last few days I had lost just over 9% of my bodyweight which sounds impressive (to me) after such a short time.

DGonMJ · 31/03/2025 18:54

@Upperroom so pleased to hear your son is out of hospital. Hope you can all relax a little now.

@MananaMananaPenelope a relief for you too.

Hope everyone’s loved ones are making a full recovery.

@KrankySchwester congrats on hitting your first goal! Is your second goal the final one?
I can so sympathise with the frustration of a gain after a very active few days. I gained yesterday after having run UPHILL to the gym, with my coat on, while carrying a bag (I don’t normally run to the gym, I was late.)

@Laura7010 congrats on moving out of the obese category, how do you feel? Lighter?

@myladyjane i also hope that on reaching goal and maintaining a good period of time off the sugar-caffeine binge/crash cycle that my body will have naturally adapted to crave more nutritious food when hungry.

NSV - am in some high-waisted wide-leg trousers today that haven’t fit for a while, and they look good! I last remember wearing these comfortably for a betwixmas get together in 2018.

HeavyHeidi · 31/03/2025 18:57

kids had left some of their chocolate on the table. I was putting it away and I swear it smells disgusting. Really not appetising at all.

Laura7010 · 31/03/2025 19:09

@DGonMJ i definitely feel much lighter. I’ve got down to around this weight a few times and never seem to get any further. I’m looking forwards to losing more and being at the same weight I was in my 20’s!

HeavyHeidi · 31/03/2025 19:16

All my tshirts are too big now, the ones that are supposed to be fitted. Now, I'm not too crafty but I do own a sewing machine - it's not too hard to sew simple t-shirts a bit smaller, right?

Zempy · 31/03/2025 19:23

I think you need @Jins for that @HeavyHeidi !

I just ordered three new t shirts in size 12. Fingers crossed they fit.

Twiceasnice25 · 31/03/2025 19:27

Hi All,

I'm currently with medexpress and have been for the 3 pens I have ordered so far.

Looking at the price comparison site I could save a decent amount on my.next order of 10mg pen if I switched supplier.

However I am bit worried it will be a faff and wondered if anyone had successfully switched supplier?

Thanks!

Jins · 31/03/2025 19:36

It’s very easy @HeavyHeidi.

The simplest way is to turn it inside out, put it on and mark where you want the new seam. Use a narrow zig zag to stitch it. If it’s very stretchy fabric get some stretch thread like gutermann maraflex.

If the shoulders need adjusting just stitch inside the seam line a bit at a time until you’re happy.

Trim the old seam away when you’re happy. It’ll be overlocked so it’ll be bulky. T shirt fabric doesn’t fray so no need for any finishing

Shirtyllama · 31/03/2025 19:58

Aargh I've stayed the same for 5 weeks now!

I'm W12D2 I think, and my weight went down really brilliantly for the first 6 and a half weeks
Sw 13 5
CW 12 0

And I'm really pleased, but it hasn't shifted since 24 Feb! Hasn't gone up, at least. I'm on my second 5mg pen, I think I'll try a bigger dose than 5mg from it this week, and order 7.5mg for my next pen.

I've been happy with what I'm eating, but probably some snacks/bigger portions have crept in, suppression isn't super strong in the last month now I really think about it. No binges though (apart from one 75g chocolate bar this week ... no regrets, it was really nice!) and v little alcohol. Probably also need to ramp up exercise, I've mostly been coasting on walking an average of 8k steps a day.

Has anyone else had a month or more of no loss? I've been really busy and kept forgetting to actually check my weight or do anything about it, will get on it now. BMI is 28, GW is between 9stone 7 and 10 stone.

HeavyHeidi · 31/03/2025 20:15

thanks @Jins will give it a try, some of them are good quality but way too roomy now

2025istheyeari · 31/03/2025 20:17

So glad the patients are out of hospital, great news!
So I spoke too soon, I ate a meal last night and omg today 🤦🏻‍♀️. I’m going to call my GP tomorrow and see if I can speak to somebody as it’s been 5 days now, I’ve barely left the house and other than a few pieces of toast and a couple of bananas I haven’t eaten apart from last night and that clearly didn’t end well!! I decided I could just check whether it could be MJ or if it’s something else, kind of think it must be something else as just about to head into week 13, haven’t upped my dose and 5 days seems quite a long time? Ate a salad at work last Wed and after a few mouthfuls it just tasted odd and later I was ill, so wondering is it was that. Sigh!

Yes me! I’ve used 4 different suppliers but now settled on Oushk so I can use them for maintenance. It’s very easy, you will
probably need to upload eg photos/ proof of id but it takes maybe 10-15 mins.

I stayed the same from mid Feb to mid March. I stayed on 2.5 for a second pen and it was enough to maintain but not lose. I’ve gone up to a 5mg pen now and started losing again.

Re price comparison, I’m with Farmeci and I just email them a link to the cheapest on the comparison and they match it. Very easy and no bother so far with service.

Randomusernameforcode · 31/03/2025 20:56

Well done on the amazing weight changes and NSV.
Sympathies to those struggling as well.

I've made the decision that I am stopping after the last two doses of this pen. 1st 7 in 13 weeks and just under a stone to target.
Going to try sheer will power for the last 12.5lbs as I'm just not enjoying this anymore.

I've been very lucky to not have the gastric side effects etc but the utter repulsion of about 80% of food is too much for me now.

The earlier days were great, low food noise and feeling able to make and enjoy good choices. Now, the thought of most food is repulsive and I have to force myself to eat once I become physically ravenous. I know that's not healthy or sustainable so it's time for me to stop.

Very, very best of luck to everyone contouring your journeys..

Onwards and downwards!

Let us know how you get on. I only have about a stone left to lose but that is likely to be gone quite quickly as like you I am struggling to eat. I'm signed up to Shemed though so I can't just stop although I hope they will let me go down to 2.5 as I doubt I will be able to maintain on 5, but I don't want to go back to pre-mj days either!

DGonMJ sorry, you gained weight after running up a hill encumbered by bag and coat? That is so not on! I wonder, can we submit some sort of class action against the Weightloss Gods for not holding up their side of the deal - we eat teeny portions, exercise, refuse cake etc, and in return they are supposed to magic away the pounds!

but in seriousness, that really does suck. I’m sorry!

MananaMananaPenelope · 31/03/2025 23:46

I’m awake, 😫, head pounding, woken up by acid reflux. This is what I ate on Sunday night not MJ. Pepto B is not touching it. I’ve decided to try sleeping on a sofa, semi upright.

Seaitoverthere · 01/04/2025 06:03

Really pleased to hear people are out of hospital. Congratulations on the losses and hang in there for those that aren’t currently. It is so frustrating when things stall or weight goes up but for a lot of it part of the process.

Am away at moment for a couple of days for silver wedding and had had a lovely time. On 6mg currently and can eat most things but a sensible amount which has been perfect. It was quite weird in a good way leaving a large amount of cheesecake that would have been gone quickly in the past.

Going to rheumatology tomorrow to discuss a change of medication. They kindly upped my anti inflammatory to get me through holiday and it has taken the edge off but I am very sore and current meds really not on top of the inflammation and I don’t want anymore joint damage so I think I will be probably starting on methotrexate by the sound of it. Bit nervous about it but will see what they say and needs must.

Still a long way to go yet but plodding away. I’m still obese but no longer morbidly obese and was lovely not having to worry about the plane seat belt. I definitely feel smaller.

Jins · 01/04/2025 08:40

Hope you are feeling better @MananaMananaPenelope. Acid reflux at night is the worst time to have it.

Is anyone else spotting usernames from this thread on other threads and wanting to virtually wave?🤣

All the workers in the house have just left and I’ve got a leisurely bath planned. I had a busy day in the garden yesterday and I can feel it this morning, the old crock that I am
