Morning all, hope the lovely weather is lifting spirits today.
my daily weigh-ins this week are continuing downwards, another 0.1kg today.
I'm feeling very lucky that I've had really nothing in the way of side effects from Mounjaro, considering what other people are suffering. I'm able to eat pretty normally, I just have 2 meals a day and no snacks and it's working very well for me. I aim for high-protein/low-carb but basically my main aim is just to eat as unprocessed as possible. On Voy, you can upload pictures of your meals and it assesses how balanced they are and gives advice on how to improve them. Yesterday I got my first perfect 10 for lunch (scrambled eggs, avocado and prosciutto on 1 slice of seeded wholemeal bread)😁
Off out for lunch with my MIL today, doubt that will score so highly.

MananaMananaPenelope · 01/04/2025 09:23

Thank you @Jins . I’m going back to bed for an hour. I feel like my whole stomach is full of acid. Awful. Partly my own fault I guess. I missed my pills two days last week as I was dashing about to the hospital, two of them are for my stomach post chemo, I bet I wouldn’t be feeling so ill if I hadn’t have missed those pills.

DGonMJ · 01/04/2025 09:49

Good luck with your weightloss post-MJ @Randomusernameforcode sounds like a very sensible decision given your situation.

@MananaMananaPenelope hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.

@Jins enjoy your leisurely bath 🛁
I had one on the weekend, my first since January. Was interesting seeing how my body now looks in that space. The fat on my belly now floats in the water in a small mound, fascinating!

@Seaitoverthere hooray for no plane seatbelt anxiety 🥂

@KrankySchwester the weightloss gods are testing us!

@2025istheyeari sorry to hear you’re still suffering. 5 days does sound a bit too long for a common MJ side effect. Hope the GP can help. Not sure when your next jab is, but is it worth taking a week’s break to let your stomach settle?

Period arrived, along with a little more exhaustion, but cramps are still mild compared to pre-MJ. A small loss of 200g this morning. In old money I am now just below 10 and a half stone.

The house is all sheeted up downstairs, so my morning exercise routine is disrupted. I did a much shorter upper arm routine this morning, which is better than nothing. Will hopefully get on the bike tomorrow. It might be like this for about 4 weeks, plus I’m away for two weekends which means missing my heavy weights sessions with the PT. So I do need to figure out how to do my strength training in my bedroom (loft conversion, restricted headspace) otherwise it’ll be a slippery slope to CBA.

2025istheyeari · 01/04/2025 10:13

Oh no, sorry to hear that @Randomusernameforcode . Wishing you lots of luck as you continue your journey!

Thanks @DGonMJ and I hope you manage to sort your exercise routine out. Good news in the loss after the annoyance of the weekend, hopefully a woosh is coming!

@MananaMananaPenelope so sorry to hear this, hope you manage to sleep and that you feel better soon.

@Laura7010 whoop, well done!!

I'm waiting for GP to call me back and I have contacted my provider about not jabbing this week, will see what they say!

MJalltheway · 01/04/2025 10:13

Any possibility of doing your exercises in the garden @DGonMJ if the weather stays nice? what are you having done in the house?

I was thinking that @MJalltheway - and Thursday is meant to be nice, so that could be ‘leg day’ sorted!

We’re having subsidence cracks repaired, most of the ground floor repainted plus up the stairs to DS1’s bedroom. So nothing too dramatic, but somehow the dust from a little light sanding gets everywhere! And any room that isn’t being painted has ‘stuff’ in it from the other rooms.

HeavyHeidi · 01/04/2025 11:02

Another interesting side effect - noticed during my sports classes both yesterday and today that I was sweating a lot less. And I did my usual weights and intensity. I am a very sweaty person, I usually finish those classes totally soaked, but was almost fresh today. Very odd.

2025istheyeari · 01/04/2025 11:55

Just spoken to my GP who is pretty certain it’s food poisoning not MJ related! She thinks I probably ‘ate normally’ too quickly and my gut is having a reaction, so soft bland foods for a few more days, probiotics and then tests if no change. 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Thanks for your support everyone!

MananaMananaPenelope · 01/04/2025 12:35

@2025istheyeari I bet you’re relieved. Food poisoning is a bugger.

I’ve just woken up. I need to eat something. Maybe that will deal with the excess acid. Not sure if I’ve got any bread in the house but I guess a piece of toast should be ok. Off to look.

What are you planning to eat @2025istheyeari ? Asking for a friend, well for me actually as I think I might have food poisoning.

(waves to @Jins, just seen you 🤣)

Jins · 01/04/2025 12:50

Fab @MananaMananaPenelope where was I? Fighting with ignorant skinny know it alls or hoping for riches? 🤣

MananaMananaPenelope · 01/04/2025 12:55

The latter @Jins, although we’re clearly doomed 🤣.

I still have not moved. Must do that.

Thelittlestranger · 01/04/2025 13:19

@Randomusernameforcode good luck, and do come back and let us know how you're getting on post MJ.

@DGonMJ another here coping with dust from decorating. But it's not giving me an excuse for not exercising today or yesterday - trying to fit everything in is hard. The struggle is real.

Currently lost 14% of my body weight - but easier to lose percentages when you're a shorty.

Oh no, poor you 😳. I have just had half a skinless chicken thigh and plan later to have a slice of our homemade granary sourdough with a scraping of butter and a banana! GP suggested eggs but not sure I can stomach those atm 🤢, digestive biscuits ( salt and sugar) crackers, rice, chicken soup as well. I’m drinking lots of mint tea and have taken a peppermint oil capsule from the mahoosive bottle that just arrived oh and a decent probiotic. Lots of liquids and if you can stomach, dioralyte.
really hope you feel better soon, it’s bloody horrible!

also waves to you both, and agree with @jins , fruitless 🤣

MananaMananaPenelope · 01/04/2025 13:26

Thanks very much @2025istheyeari that gives me something to go on. Still not up!

Are you there too 🤣. I’ve downgraded my expectations. Do you know that the 1st is the one day a month I buy a lotto ticket to deal with my disappointment 😍.

Jins · 01/04/2025 13:28

I’m trying to resist the Lotto although DS2 tries to tempt me. I’m not greedy with PB - I’d just like to win enough to cover my Mounjaro each month 🤣

sociallydistained · 01/04/2025 13:35

So I'm on 6.25 because I felt like 5 wasn't touching me last week. I'm due on and honestly this also isn't touching me. I'll try 7.5 this week but I read on Reddit that someone said their pen wasn't cold enough on delivery and wasn't effective. I'm wondering if thats what's going on and I've just had a pen delivered today and I'm not home until tonight and it's warm so praying that stays cold now! I do think it's likely being due on though but basically feel there's no MJ in my body again 🙈

sociallydistained · 01/04/2025 13:38

HeavyHeidi · 31/03/2025 18:57

kids had left some of their chocolate on the table. I was putting it away and I swear it smells disgusting. Really not appetising at all.

I wish this was the case for me. I've always still fancied it and will have a little treat now and then. The major difference was no binging for me. But the last 2 weeks I've been actually wanting Easter eggs arghhh. I had two of the smaller ones last week but I wouldn't have needed this previously on MJ.
Praying 7.5 on Thursday is the answer 🙈

HeavyHeidi · 02/04/2025 05:41

Hm I definitely feel less of the suppression. Will see what the scales say tomorrow but may go up to 3.25 if no loss this week. Still some kilos I want to lose before summer.

MJalltheway · 02/04/2025 07:51

Aching today after doing two exercise classes so far this week! I have signed up for the BHF strong woman April challenge, so day 2 is sit-ups.
Enjoying doing lots more exercise but still haven't found any enjoyable strength training yet though, I will keep trying because I know it's important not only with WLI but also in menopause.

IdentityCrisis101 · 02/04/2025 07:58

Jab 13 for me today, and full 12 weeks completed. I have lost 2 stone 11lbs in total, with only half a pound to go before I am in the 11stone bracket. 7.5mg seems to be working really well for me, I have just ordered a new pen.

I have also signed up to the BHF challenge.

Jins · 02/04/2025 08:00

My fingerprick blood test results are back and look ok. Raised liver enzymes (ALT) but I always get this result so am starting to think it’s my normal. Went through test after test in my early forties until the GP finally got bored. Cholesterol is a strange one. Total is high at 5 but overall ratio of good to bad is excellent. Again 5 is my usual total cholesterol score.

Worth doing I think and I’ll do it again next year seeing as it’s free.

Forgot about the strong woman challenge so thanks for the reminder. I think I’ll pick it up in day three if today is sit ups…,,

DGonMJ · 02/04/2025 08:00

@HeavyHeidi hope it’s just a blip, I’m amazed you’ve done so well staying on 2.5mg.

I’m actually feeling a little bit more suppression this week while on my period. Still eating three meals, finishing the portion. But not needing a snack in between.

NSV - could see the vaguest outline of my shoulder muscles in the mirror this morning. Only from the front, but still…my ham-like upper arms are finally toning up!

Thelittlestranger · 02/04/2025 08:22

@MJalltheway I found I enjoyed getting stronger when I started lifting, rather than enjoying the process iyswim? Doing a program really helped with that and logging the weights as I could see them going up - quicker at first, for sure. Now I'm in the habit - saying that, I haven't done anything this week yet due to work so will have catching up to do after today.

@HeavyHeidi I seem to lose very little for two weeks then have a little whoosh. Happened this morning happily, but I'm not sure it will stay off until WI on Sunday. At least I know it's there waiting for me....

Still enjoying 5mg - have bonus dose this Sunday then next pen after that. Drinking water is helping a lot - really fills me up. And stopping when I feel that first sigh...not eating so much I'm uncomfortable has been very welcome. Why did I do that to myself?

Good morning! I did a cheeky WOW today.

SW 13:7
CW 11:2

I started 8 Jan and am 5 feet 4. Currently on first 7.5 pen.

So it’s been a weird experience for me on 7.5. Dizzy, lethargic and nauseated. Low suppression. But I am still losing. I’m going to power through it. I have ordered another 7.5 pen so if I really start struggling, I’ll have to increase the dosage from that pen.

Anyway, is everyone being brave/optimistic and getting rid of their “fat clothes”? I haven’t yet, but I was just about to put a pair of size 16 jeggings through the wash, and stopped myself. They really need to go.

MJalltheway · 02/04/2025 08:45

Not got down to the next size yet, despite losing 10kg! Size 18 is getting very loose on me though, I had to put a belt on yesterday to stop my jeans falling down.
I will definitely get rid of some fat clothes but the more expensive/nicer stuff I will probably have altered.
