@Lovetoridemybicycle i think there is so much data here to be used by someone to try to build up a picture of the range of responses to the drug. I’ve had a very muted response to the lower doses, very little weight loss, no indigestion or sulphur burps, no feeling fuller quicker. And yet loads of others report these effects, even on 2.5mg. It’s fascinating.

MJalltheway · 23/03/2025 13:00

DH has been really ill this weekend so have been running around doing all the usual weekend ferrying plus up and downstairs taking him food and drinks etc. Not that he's eaten anything all weekend.
Definitley felt more of a snacking urge yesterday. I wasn't hungry, probably more stress than anything (redundancies at work, illness at home) But I stuck to my fruit&nuts only rule and had a handful of almonds and some tinned peaches as a snack.

Also worth reminding everyone to log side effects on the yellow card website, particularly things like menstrual cycle effects. Women of child-bearing age are often excluded from clinical trials because of the potential effects on pregnancy so it means side-effects on women are underreported. The yellow card scheme gives them really useful, important feedback on side effects in the real world.

My supression definitely varies, some days I feel like eating nothing, other days I have decent meals. And oddly my suppression seems to usually be stronger towards the end of a jab-week. Not sure how that works.

Lovetoridemybicycle · 23/03/2025 13:03

@Polkadotdash Hopefully someone will be able to use all this data for the greater good! I assumed it was slow because the dose has a lot more volume of body to deal with! But it does look like there is more to it than that!

GrumpyMuleFan · 23/03/2025 13:18

@Beanie567 that is very interesting about dropping down to 2 and got me thinking about my side effects. I am v similar to you. I don’t think I’m eating enough and looking back at my diary, I have had lots of unpleasant digestive issues. I’ve been feeling quite sick and low ever too. I don’t get hungry in the morning, but can see that I manage to eat more and have more energy when I eat breakfast. I’m travelling for three days this week and want to have energy and not be anxious about explosive moments!! So, I’m going to go down too. How do count the 45 clicks? Is it once you’ve done the priming?

GrumpyMuleFan · 23/03/2025 13:23

@myladyjane great to see you back and thank you for sharing your inner sloth with me!! I am so impressed at what you’ve done for Lent. It’s really inspiring and I like that you have different activities for different types of day. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I am going to have a think about how I can create a routine. At the moment, I just hope I feel like it. I need a routine/habit that helps me get it done, even when I don’t feel like it.

Jins · 23/03/2025 13:25

Great to see you back @myladyjane

Beanie567 · 23/03/2025 15:30

@GrumpyMuleFan yes, I count the clicks after priming. It’s really good that we have that option, I’m hoping they don’t adjust the pens so we can’t do it anymore!

@MJalltheway yes, good idea re reporting side effects via yellow card. For me my period was affected - two weeks late and then a surprise period two weeks later! I’m hoping my cycle has sorted itself out now but the fact that Mounjaro can affect the menstrual cycle is something I would have liked to have known beforehand. I shall click on the link now.

I said the same yesterday - don't understand it at all!

JoanCollinsDiva · 23/03/2025 16:32

Can someone please remind me how many clicks of a 7.5mg pen to get 5mg? Jins I think you said 40?

myladyjane · 23/03/2025 16:34

Thank you for the welcome and I seem to have answered my own question - today back to normal (which includes the nasty sulphur burps, albeit I can manage them well now and I find them oddly reassuring) v little food noise and full signals back to my mj normal. I will treat Friday and yesterday as a lesson to be more mindful and prepared.

Jins · 23/03/2025 16:44

Yes 40 clicks for 5mg. It’s 2/3rds of a dose

Sunnydaysahead22 · 23/03/2025 16:47

I’ve just been sent a medexpress code for existing customers for 20% reorders which expire this week. I’ve put it on the referrals thread. This might help existing users - I don’t get any referral from this so I hope it’s ok to put on this page

JoanCollinsDiva · 23/03/2025 17:44

Thanks again Jins - got to do that at some point today. Glad you're feeling better myladyjane.

I think no matter where we are in our MJ journey and how much weight we need to lose it is very much an up and down experience. My mood changes from one day to another, I can feel slim and happy one minute and like a flabby hippo the next. It's struck me today that no matter how much I lose il always have a sticky out tummy without surgery bc I've had 4 dc's and my stomach muscles are shot. Ditto cellulite and stretch marks. My bikini days are over (unless I lay on a sunlounger with a sarong!) but that's ok - I'm not after perfection. I'm simply not willing to do 100 sit ups a day bc I'm too lazy - so I have to accept the fallout of that 🤷‍♀️

At my age I'm not going to look great naked without a lot of work and I simply cant be arsed. So at least losing 3 stone will put me in the middle of the healthy category and I shouldn't have weight related issues. Also Il be able to fit in all my clothes and not feel like crying when I go clothes shopping or have to sit down when I climb the stairs in our house!

SteveHarringtonsHair · 23/03/2025 19:30

Hello everyone. Great to see everyone’s progress this week.

Jab 10 for me today. I put it off until today as I was out yesterday and wanted to eat without worrying about unpleasant after effects.
I’m still having great suppression on 5mg but also still shattered most of the time.

I’m currently finding it quite bizarre to think I’ve only been at this for two and a half months.
It feels like I’ve completely changed the attitude I’ve had to food for years. I’m choosing the healthier, lighter options. Eating more slowly and mindfully. I don’t even think about food most of the time.
Fatty foods, sweet foods, drinks, carbs, I just can’t seem to stomach them anymore.
I wish these changes were permanent though.
Everything I’ve read says these effects are just temporary while taking MJ.

I’ve looked into maintenance dosing on Oushk and to be honest I think to be healthy and slim for the rest of my life will be worth the cost.

SW 196lbs
CW 166lbs
GW 133lbs

Good luck to us all for the week ahead.

HeavyHeidi · 23/03/2025 21:28

Same, @SteveHarringtonsHair . There are some crossants in the kitchen, and crisps - no interest, want apples instead.

Not expecting to lose the coming week - work trip, with lunches, dinners, coffee breaks and not much time for exercise. But will be happy if I will at least manage not to gain too much.

GrumpyMuleFan · 24/03/2025 06:03

Morning. Accountability for Sunday:

  • 45 min walk and 7,689 daily steps ✅
  • 28 min exercise ✅
  • No wine as planned, despite DH opening a bottle ✅
TicTac80 · 24/03/2025 06:27

Morning all...I'm late updating my weekly progress (was meant to be Friday but my scales ran out of batteries and I needed to order some). I also spent weekend tinkering on my "new" camper van. It's a 1980 VW T2. Bought it last week - I must be nuts (it needs work!) but it's so cool. Me and the DC do go camping a LOT, so this is sort of future proofing for when I get too old to put a tent up on my own.

I've gone down to 61.25kg (this morning). I'm not sure what I was on Friday but after camper van purchase day (Tuesday), I got a really rotten head cold and limped through 3days of working but hardly being able to face food. Building myself up slowly now (does anyone else find it hard to eat after you've been ill?) :) I've discovered protein yogurts at Lidl, and protein Quark puddings. I tried my first half of a protein yog this morning. I'll have the other tomorrow for breakfast. I think I might try protein shakes to build my intake up a bit.

Right, work beckons and I have to run!! Take care all!! xx

GrumpyMuleFan · 24/03/2025 06:49

I’m the same. I used to love crisps - can’t face the thought of them. Also realised that I haven’t had any ice cream since starting.

NothankyouNigel · 24/03/2025 07:25

@TicTac80 oooh that’s exciting! I’m counting down the days till I can get back out camping (tent) but I’d love a campervan!

@GrumpyMuleFan kicking the habit of regular wine - couple of glasses every week - has done it for me. I don’t think I’d have been able to lose this much if I’d kept at it. My perimenopausal body was just not tolerating it at all.

Im week 11 now, 2nd 5mg jab and hopefully by next week will have slipped into the ‘normal’ BMI range 🤞

GrumpyMuleFan · 24/03/2025 07:40

@TicTac80 that is so exciting! What a fab, fun project to have on the go. I hate eating after feeling poorly. It takes a while. Chicken soup really does help. Hope you feel better.

GrumpyMuleFan · 24/03/2025 07:44

@NothankyouNigel thats interesting, thank you. I am v happy with a few glasses a week. For ages I capped it at four and felt great. It meant in practice that I’d avoid pre dinner drinks and just drink with a special meal. But since starting on MJ, it’s been creeping up. Plus, as I get older (late 50s) I do struggle with sleep etc. Maybe I can reset at “sometimes, I love a glass of wine with food”. 🤔.

Wishing everyone a great week. 😀🚀🚀

Therealmetherealme · 24/03/2025 07:49

Hi all. I’ve dipped out of the thread recently, constantly thinking about weight loss is exhausting, but am coming home. It’s good to hear so many positive stories. I started 1st Jan and have currently lost 2st9lbs.

I'm just wandering, does anyone have this insane lethargy and how do you help it? My calories are around 1300, my tdde for weight loss should be 1200/1300. I’m trying to eat regular meals, but not snack in between. Do I increase calories, snack, just eat the sugar?? My sleep isn’t great, but never has been, this is another level though.

HeavyHeidi · 24/03/2025 07:56

@Therealmetherealme could it be a vitamin deficiency? I remember one year I started feeling like death warmed up, turned out all B12, D and iron levels were abysmal. If we are eating less, it's certainly harder to get all the vitamins and minerals out of the food.

HeavyHeidi · 24/03/2025 07:59

I was very much in the habit of opening a bottle of wine Friday after work and DH and I usually got through a couple of bottles over the weekend. More if we had company, of course.
Have had couple of drinks only since January.
About to go to airport for a work trip, this would usually mean champagne in the lounge, a few glasses of wine with dinner and a few cocktails at the bar late every evening. Not planning to do any of that.
Besides, I make inappropriate jokes and overshare when sober as well, so there's no need really to add alcohol 😂
