That’s going to be an exciting shopping trip.

As I’ve made most of my clothes I know how they are constructed and where to make alterations so that’s what I intend to do with some of my nicer things. I have always tended to wear slim fitting trousers as I have been lucky to have reasonably decent legs and tops are generally fairly loose and flowy.

If I can’t alter things I’ll make them into something else and too big T-shirts will eventually become nightwear.

Even when slim I have no waist. I also have very broad shoulders so I have to be careful to avoid looking like an eighties drop out. Like a female David Byrne if anyone here remembers.

I have some gorgeous fabrics stashed away that I wasn’t going to waste on fat clothes so I’m enjoying planning something for them

HeavyHeidi · 22/03/2025 11:11

I am really trying to downsize and buy fewer but better quality items. Makes more sense to have a few but really nice outfits than a 100 so-so ones, right? It's not easy though, I love shopping.
Have to find a place here that accepts bra donations, have a big bag of them that are 2 sizes too big.

cloudjumper · 22/03/2025 11:22

I haven't given clothes shopping much thought, for now, I'm just looking forward to be able to wear all the stuff I already have again - to start with anyway. Most of it is quite old, but good quality. I don't have a work wardrobe anymore, as I work from home, so it's mostly jeans and t-shirt.

I have recently discovered Scamp & Dude and really want to get some of their tops and possibly even dresses (although I hardly ever wear dresses). But I will wait until I'm well within the size 14 range again before I start buying.

Zempy · 22/03/2025 11:25

It’s lovely thinking about enjoying buying and wearing clothes again rather than pulling on the same old stuff and thinking “that will do”

Small NSV today in that department. I got bleach on the sleeve of my navy linen blazer a couple of years ago and haven’t replaced because of course I was going to lose weight 🙄

Ordered a 12 and 14 from M and S and the 14 is way too big. I can’t quite button the 12 (32GG) but I will be able to soon, so the 14 will go back. Obviously it’s vanity sized but as most of my clothes are from M and S, Next, or Cos, that’s the sizing I am used to.

Looking forward to my night out and settled on having pasta as everyone knows I am on WLI so no drama if I can’t eat much.

MJalltheway · 22/03/2025 11:41

I had a few of my evening dresses and work stuff altered last time I lost loads of weight, pre-covid. The only issue with that is that if you then decide not to keep them you can't really donate to charity or sell because the size is so personalised.
I have huge boobs so always need large blazers even when slim - it's the one area that never gains or loses weight, annoyingly. Maybe I'll get a breast reduction at the end of this as well, I'm so tempted to!

Boohoo76 · 22/03/2025 12:23

I shared a bottle of champagne with DH last night so went over my usual 1200 calorie limit. Weighed myself this morning and I had lost a pound since yesterday. Maybe I will go on a champagne diet 🤣

W13D1 weigh in time

SW:15.13.0
CW: 13.6.8
Loss this week: 3.6lbs, yay!

Will do my 3rd 7.5mg jab tonight so that I can then move it back to my usual Saturday morning time next week. Have felt fine on this level and losing quite well so decided to stick with same dose for next month.

Something beginning with a 12, I'm coming for you!

Happy weekend all you lovely losers 🥰

sociallydistained · 22/03/2025 14:08

So I stayed exactly the same weight this week 13 stone 11.8! Precisely. This is my first ever week I've not lost weight (had some weeks of half a pound or less but only a few). I was gutted at first but had prepared myself as I've upped my workout weights and boy am I feeling it. I guess my muscles are holding water because I have upped my exercise and eating with a deficit. I am on week 7 of 5mg though and am questioning if not moving up to 7.5 will make me stall now. However I feel it's the right dose for me in terms of allowing me to eat because I know I need to eat a decent amount of protein.
Also I'm just under losing 2 stone so I feel the last few pounds before I reach that milestone will just take a bit longer as seems to be the case!

As disappointed as I am to not see a lower weight this week I am feeling soooo much better in clothes and seeing some changes with all my exercise in my arms and thighs! Just keep telling myself I am being consistent and change will keep coming! 🤞🏻

HeavyHeidi · 22/03/2025 14:15

@sociallydistained as long as you can eat in calorie deficit, the weight will eventually come off. I'm still in 2.5 and occasionnally thinking that should I move up - but for health reasons, I really don't want to starve myself.

sociallydistained · 22/03/2025 15:11

Yeah exactly the same. It's one week staying the same but feeling other positive things so I'll focus on that. I don't think it's the dose so we'll see how the next few weeks go!
I have a friend who is nearly at goal who eats next to nothing and has chased the really high suppression. She feels sick at the thought of food but that is absolutely not where I want to be. I was a binge eater and haven't felt anywhere near inclined to overeat like that so, for me, this is the perfect level of suppression and no side effects (well apart from some difficulty staying asleep at night).

Polkadotdash · 22/03/2025 15:28

Have decided my next goal will be to fit into the biggest size jeans in Zara. Their max is about a 16 and I haven’t been able to fit every time I’ve tried (despite being a vanity 16 in other shops).

Jins · 22/03/2025 15:52

I think I’ll probably stay on 6.25mg for the next few doses at least as the balance seems to be about right for me. I’ll have to see how things go over the next couple of weeks. I’m off on holiday in mid May and want to keep the momentum going as things will inevitably slip while away. I haven’t had so much suppression that I don’t want to eat on any dose so far and we’re off to an all-inclusive that specialises in Mediterranean cuisine. Luckily (possibly the only positive) my coeliac disease stops me trying everything and desserts aren’t usually suitable.

Zempy · 22/03/2025 16:09

I’m also going away Mid May to NYC so I’ll need loads of energy. I’m going with a total foodie who will want to drag me into various restaurants.

I don’t know whether to go with full suppression, knowing I will limit my experience slightly, or whether to take a lower dose.

I am thinking it’s my “fat girl” brain telling me I need to be able to eat more in order to enjoy a holiday properly. I could easily put on 7-10 pounds on a week away. 😳

I guess we still have time to make those decisions and hopefully the situation will become clearer. No point stressing about it now.

HeavyHeidi · 22/03/2025 16:16

on my current dose, I have still been able to enjoy meals out. Not able to finish the portions normally, but the food is still tasty.

Yes. I think I am worried about “is that all you’re having?”

Ridiculous of me really.

DGonMJ · 22/03/2025 17:34

I’m away for a big house stay weekend with friends in a couple of weeks, and food is a big part of it. I’m actually looking forward to it because normally on a big group holiday I spend a lot of time ‘holding back’ and not eating the portion sizes I really want for fear of looking like a big greedy guts. But this time I’ll be able to eat a normal portion and not be thinking whether there’s enough to go round or if I’ve taken more than my fair share.

@Zempy You’ll have a great time, will be able to sample lots of small plates and feel satisfied! I imagine more restaurants there are catering for the GLP1 crowd as it seems like 30% of Americans are on them!

Zempy · 22/03/2025 17:38

Thanks @DGonMJ

Your post has reminded me of “girls holidays” where I would pack cereal bars to eat in private in case we didn’t get enough food.

Once I nearly fainted because I was so hungry and we all had stop off for a drink so I could get some chips down me. 😳

It feels like a dream to not live like that.

sociallydistained · 22/03/2025 17:59

Honestly food ruled me so much I could never get enough and would panic if I was away and had no snacks in the room; no matter how big dinner was 🤦🏻‍♀️
It is nice to eat a healthy amount! I can still eat a fair amount but then I'm satisfied. I haven't been to a formal restaurant since starting MJ (have had takeaways) and going to a pub Friday with friends so pub grub. I'm interested to see what I eat. I doubt I'd be able to have pudding (never a doubt before!)

UnderandOverwhelmed · 22/03/2025 18:36

HeavyHeidi · 22/03/2025 16:16

I've found the same. We went out last night and I had a pizza! I didn't eat any of the substantial crust but I managed the inside and haven't felt any ill effects. It's not something I want to do regularly, but it was nice to know I can enjoy a meal out.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 22/03/2025 19:07

I also still enjoy eating out, I’ve just got back from a night away with friends. We went to a Turkish restaurant last night and I had a lamb shish with rice and salad. I ate almost all of the meat (lamb is my favourite), about half of the salad and a couple of spoonfuls of rice (left most of it). I also had a cocktail which I enjoyed but found one was enough. I didn’t eat breakfast today as I was still full from last night but we went out again for lunch and I had a bowl of soup with a slice of bread which I did finish but it wasn’t a huge portion. I really enjoyed it and it filled me up, I’m still not ready for dinner yet, will probably eat in about an hour.

I’ve also just booked a holiday for July with my friend, I’ve lost 3.5 stone so far, I’m hoping for another 2 stone by July now that I have something to aim for!

HeavyHeidi · 22/03/2025 19:30

Last time I went out with some colleagues, they all had massive schnitzels and I had a green salad. But that's what I wanted to eat.

emmsyg · 22/03/2025 19:44

I’ve also found it fine eating out at restaurants for the rare occasion that I do that!

@MananaMananaPenelope I’m a big fan of taking my oversized t shirts and tying them up, works really well over the summer, you can tie them up to current size, so I’m hanging on to a lot of my men’s size large tees for a while if they’re ones that I like, just finding different ways to wear them. And finally getting back into some old clothes too so that’s like gaining a new wardrobe again 😂

JoanCollinsDiva · 22/03/2025 20:17

I had lunch today at Carluccios - the goats cheese salad (mainly rocket leaves with about 4 tiny pieces of goats cheese in!) a white wine and soda and a skinny cappuccino and had to run to the loo again after about 10 mins of eating it 😬. I find certain things (but I don't know what) are setting me off and seem to go straight through me! I've just had a packet of rice crackers for dinner as I can't face anything else. It's really strange but I'm finding suppression/nausea worse at the end of the week when I'm due to jab - it doesn't really make sense. I jab on a Sunday and It always seems to be fri/sat I feel worse.

I also just bought a really nice Ralph Lauren linen jacket in TK Maxx - size 8! I'm definitely not an 8 (maybe it's American sizing and really it's a 12?) but it was a boost when it slipped on anyway 😂

DGonMJ · 23/03/2025 07:25

Morning all

Will be doing my 12th jab later this morning, my second 5mg dose. I’ve had a bit of a whoosh this week, but maybe because I got my hair cut, I think that’s taken some weight off!

Week 12 Day 1
SW 79.6kg - BMI 29.2
CW 67.4kg - BMI 24.8
GW 60-65kg - BMI 22-23.9

Total weight lost 12.2kg, weight loss this week 0.9kg

HeavyHeidi · 23/03/2025 07:48

Great loss @DGonMJ ! And congratulations on the below 25 BMI!

I went to hairdressers as well, but I'm pretty sure that would count for about 10 grams :D Not much hair to speak of. Although I have been using minoxidil for a few months and now look like a hedgehog.

About to go to gym and lift some weights.
