Jealous of you all not into chocolate still. I thought I wasn’t until a mini egg passed my lips.. oh my gosh I still love it 😬
I do have much more control. I ate only 5 mini eggs and stopped.
I have bought Easter eggs for my children, my husband and one for me.
decided I also do not want to feel deprived so will crack into it when we all sit down together, but keep it a small amount, only have some Easter Sunday and Monday then what ever is left hand over to husband/kids. I will seal my chocolate consumption again after that.

Like others have said, I am please I haven’t already broken into the eggs and need to replace them like previous years & know I have control to not do this.
I am a recovering chocoholic!

Arglefraster · 12/04/2025 10:16

I've had a cupboard full of Easter eggs for about a month now - I would never normally touch them as they're assigned to the kids in my head BUT I would think about them a lot & probably eat more of other things when I did. I just forget they're there except when the cupboard contents explodes onto me

I LOVE not thinking about them.

MIL is the only person who buys me an Easter egg & I'll probably keep the bar of chocolate but bake with the egg chocolate or give it to DH.

I count calories because I'm really counting protein & fibre but also because even with MJ I could eat vast portions.

Darlinghag · 12/04/2025 11:10

I eat a creme egg a day!! In my deficit though! I will not really do much different with eating, maybe a little extra chocolate. Its not a big holiday for me.

today is me weigh in and I have lost 1.6lbs!!! This takes me to 14st 6.9lbs and therefore I reached my end of April goal to get under 14.7 stone! That’s 3lb exactly to Onederland! I’ve got a goal to get to under 14st by the third week of May when I have a trip!

some things this week:

  • more 16 clothes are entering the wardrobe - am thrilled!!
  • i can finally get rid of my size 20 jeans - this range always ran a little small, but am definitely in size 18s now, and 16-18 in trouser type things!
  • ive brought back walking more, its so much easier now!!

I hope everyone is well!!

Mounjaronewbie25 · 12/04/2025 12:45

Hi just doing my weekly check in:

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 13st 2.5
Loss this week: 2 lbs
Total loss on Mounjaro: 23.5 lbs (1st 9.5)
Total loss overall: 49 lbs (3st 7)

Have done 4 weeks on 2.5mg, 4 weeks on 5mg. Moving up to 7.5mg today. Seem to be consistently losing 2 pounds a week which is perfect.

Also NSV this week, tried on my wedding dress for the first time in 3 months, looks like it’s going to need taken in a good bit at my first fitting.

I also would have eaten many Easter treats by now, but am finding chocolate sickening now, it’s too sweet. I do eat Fulfill protein bars and have hot chocolate still, which is just enough when I want something sweet.

WeAllHaveWings · 12/04/2025 13:58

Another nice 2lb lost this week 😁

End of week - 42 (5 x 2.5mg, 37 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 14st 08lbs BMI 30.6
Losses (2024) - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2,3,3,1,4,0
Losses (2025) - 0,3,2,1,3,1,1,0,2,3,3,-1,3,2,2
Total loss - 6st 11lbs (95lbs), 31.8%
Next Target 🎯- 14st 3lb (BMI < 30, 100lbs lost, Onederland!)

NSV this week - Because our team is geographically spread I don't go into the office very often to have in person meetings with others zooming in. I did one this week and I don't stand out on screen as being SIGNIFICANTLY bigger than everyone else anymore! Used to hate having to look at the screen for the whole meeting seeing myself stand out like that, now I look normal sized.

I need to rethink my hair/loss though - so not all good news! Has anyone done one of those private Thriva blood tests to check iron, B12, etc levels? Do they hurt? Don't like the look of the blood sampling device, especially as when I go to the Dr they usually struggle to extract blood from me.

RainbowConnection1 · 12/04/2025 15:16

I’ve just completed my fourth week.
SW: 18st 10
CW: 17st 13
TW: 11st O
Loss this week 1lb.
Total loss: 11lbs

I found this week more of a mental struggle for some reason. Hoping the coming week is better!

QueenOfHiraeth · 12/04/2025 20:56

My children are in their 30s but threaten to call Childline when I suggest not buying them Easter eggs. Now have to buy for grandchildren too and we will do a little egg hunt for them
My weight loss is so slow now it's frustrating, probably less than a pound a week so I need to get my act together and build in more walking after Easter. I've started doing a few basic exercises with my little weights in the hope it might help tone my spindly little arms. I can't reduce my calories further as I think I'm getting too close to my BMR plus I don't feel like I eat a lot anyway.

Twodogsisbetterthanone · 12/04/2025 21:23

I need to have a serious think about what I want my target weight to be. Even when I was young and slim I was in the overweight category as I’m over 6ft and built like an Olympic shotputter. 🤣 I was slim at 13 stone and a size 14, so I may aim for that. I don’t want to get too skinny and have loads of loose skin. I’m currently 19 stone ish and in an 18-20.

Your starting weight isn’t far off mine, although I’m 5’6”. My ‘ideal weight’ is around 10 stone but I’m in the swing of perimenopause, rapidly approaching 50 and think my days of being less than that are gone. Though who can tell?

I’m using an app called Happy Scale which has broken down my journey into 20 manageable pieces. If I look at the final target it feels a very long way away.

@RainbowConnection1 it's a total headfuck at times, isn't it?!

You're losing well though - just keep going....

I veer between feeling amazing and being 100% sure it's not working for me 🙄I have 13 weeks of data now that tells me it is, but my mind is way behind my body at the moment..!

EricTheGardener · 12/04/2025 23:14

@WeAllHaveWings I have done the Thriva blood test things. The first time I just couldn't get any blood out at all from the finger prick thing and ended up going to local clinic and getting it drawn privately and sending it off - so annoying. Second time was fine though, as followed the advice of nurse friend who takes bloods all the time. She told me to drink at least a pint of water 10-15 mins beforehand, go for a walk around the block, do 30 seconds of star jumps and then run hands under hot tap for a bit. Worked like a charm.

WeAllHaveWings · 13/04/2025 08:02

@EricTheGardenerthe one I saw online was a device that was stuck to the upper arm and extracted the blood into 3 containers, that had to be changed when full and the device reactivated each time, over 15 minutes or so.

MyGodMyThighs · 13/04/2025 10:34

So that's it, I've just done my first injection!

Have been over-thinking it since it arrived on Friday in terms of day/time to do it. Glad it's now done.

Highest weight (249lbs) 26/12/24
MJ SW (238lbs) 13/04/25
GW (150lbs).

My order came with a measuring tape (Oushk), I wasn't going to measure but glad I now have:

Waist: 43in
Hips: 50in
Chest: 40in
Thigh: 28in

It's been a long time since I've been happy with my size. So here goes...

dimples76 · 13/04/2025 17:35

Good luck @MyGodMyThighs. I think that the first injection is very daunting but then it just becomes routine.

InfoSecInTheCity · 13/04/2025 19:49

Oh my goodness I’ve found you! Somehow managed to hide this thread, no idea how 🫤

Feeling cream crackered today, not really done a huge amount this weekend but with being at a convention for 3 days last week and just general busyness around that at work it feels like it’s caught up with me.

finished week 3 of C25K so next week I move onto 5 min runs which feels a bit daunting. 3 mins was ok but by the end of that I was ready to walk for a bit. Will have to see how it goes I suppose.

MooBaggage · 13/04/2025 20:54

OMG I did couch to 5K years ago and remember that jump to running for 5 minutes - seemed impossible!

I did a few Parkruns and then peaked with 1 x 10Km run (in about 2018?!) which finished me off and I swore I'd never run again - and haven't!

Ahem. Do not copy this terrible behaviour - keep running!!

MooBaggage · 13/04/2025 21:03

I've had a weird few days this week, having reduced my dosage back to 5mg. I've actually eaten proper meals - 2 a day - and have had 1 x g&t or 1 x glass of wine each evening. So I haven't gone completely bonkers - no snacking in between meals, no puds, nothing to excess - but it feels like I've been cheating... 🙄

I'm not weighing until the end of April and am going to increase ever so slightly to 5.25mg tomorrow, as the food noise has also been back - the voice really telling me another gin would be nice - which I resisted, but the one I made myself last night was a free pour 'holiday' measure and I really don't want to go back to that.

It's so weird that the suppression is everything and when it's not fully there, the noise and addictions come wheedling back.... 😶

RainbowConnection1 · 13/04/2025 22:25

@MyGodMyThighs Good luck!!!

@MooBaggageI often feel like I’ve been cheating even though I haven’t done anything ‘wrong’. I’m away from home for a couple of days visiting my eldest and we had a Chinese for dinner. I chose carefully and Nutracheck tells me
what I had was fine but I still feel guilty! I need to stop overthinking all the time.

InfoSecInTheCity · 14/04/2025 06:44

Weigh in day and I’ve stayed the same this week.

SW: 217.5 lb - 15 st and 7.5 lbs - BMI 33.07
CW: 157.6 lb - 11 st and 3.6 lbs - BMI 23.96
GW: 141.0 lb - 10 st and 1.0 lbs - BMI 21.44

Total loss so far - 59.9 lb
Loss needed to get to goal - 17 lb

MooBaggage · 14/04/2025 07:48

@InfoSecInTheCity you are so close now..! Hopefully at some point over the summer you'll be there (I still have tummy envy 😁).

Random weigh day for me - only 5 days after my last weigh and I only weighed because I've been stressing about the last few days of eating more, which I accept is ridiculous 🙄

I've lost 1lb, which means:

SW 20 st 3lbs. BMI 43
CW 17 st 11lbs. BMI 37.9
Total loss: 34 lbs

Am happy with that - relieved I haven't suddenly put a trillion lbs on and happy it's jab day today and I'm tweaking the dosage slightly to try and find the perfect amount for me these days!

Very pleased I'm officially under 250lbs - now 249lbs - and also waving hello to 2.5 stone loss and another BMI point gone. Mini milestones keep me going 🙂

InfoSecInTheCity · 14/04/2025 08:42

OMG just went to Costa Coffee which I happen to go to every day gonna have a bit of a coffee problem and a lady that I do not even know came over to me and said ‘I just had to say because I see you every day how amazing you look and how much weight you’ve lost how do you do it?’ I was completely flustered and did tell her that it was the injections because she said that she’d been doing slimming world for months and wasn’t having any success but now I feel all flushed and happy, it was very nice.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 14/04/2025 10:06

That’s a real boost @InfoSecInTheCity! Validation is needed but I find this a tricky thing. I like others to notice my loss but don’t want them to ask me how. Also if they notice too much I then dwell on the realisation well they did notice how huge I was before when I hoped to hide behind my clothes and shrink into the background.

For much the same reason I don’t tell my husband how much I have lost because I don’t want him to actually do the math and work out just how big I had let myself get. Telling him I have lost nearly 3 stone puts a figure in how many stone too much I let myself get. I know it sounds weird but I guess it’s like having to admit to others the extent of my failures. A friend asked how much weight loss as she thought I lost loads. I lied and said oh about a stone.

@InfoSecInTheCityi am
thinking of doing CT5K too. I did it pre pandemic but was a lot lighter then. Tried a few 1 min jogs on treadmill the other day and knees hurt so I stopped. I’ll try again when there is less weight going through my joints.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 14/04/2025 10:13

@MooBaggage you are doing so well!!!
I started at 21st one 5lbs just under 300lbs.

Weigh in yesterday 18stone 7lbs which was a 2.5 lbs loss this week but in total since January 40lbs!!!

what dose are you tweaking to?
The BMI points are great mini achievements but do seem to take more weight to shift than I expect. I was delighted to breech under BMI 40 last week.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 14/04/2025 10:15

Can I ask as first time for me since being on Mounjaro:

If you have a cold, do you keep to your normal injection day? Does the injection in anyway may you more poorly?🤒
I normally feel very cold for 2-3 days after injection but running a little warmer with this virus. DD also poorly with it.
Considering it lowers inflammation, does it affect your immune system to fight?
