@QueenOfHiraeth - I too, never have the suppression so familiar to everyone else and each time I go up pens, I expect it, but it never comes. (I suspect, but just my own theory) that the lesser the side effects, the less of a hard-hitter MJ is).
@gimmemounjaro's advice, as always, is excellent and @Arglefraster's too - it is very interesting when you look into it, the little impact that exercise actually has on weight loss. I am not putting exercise down, far from it, but is mainly our way of eating that determines weight loss. I am not doing much in the way of exercise at the minute, but I am one of these "never off the go" (as my Mum would say) people. I am enjoying being fitter, for sure, and long to get back in the pool, but never seem to have the time just now! I will say as well, there are times that I am more sedentary than I should be.
I approach my eating differently to others here, but sometimes there are overlaps - like eating twice a day instead of 3 times a day, never snacking, etc. I follow a ketogenic way of eating, and by default, that means I do intermittent fasting. It means I am full and rarely hungry, have zero cravings for sugar, etc. I never count calories. I eat (fairly large) meals that I usually always finish, and I have an appetite for them/am hungry at meal times.
My advice to add to the excellent advice of others, is to go and read about set points; (along the lines of what @gimmemounjaro was saying re your body desperate to hang onto the weight) and have a look at foods that fill you up (nutritiously dense foods) so you are able to eat less often. For me, I have horrible insulin resistance, and the more occasions I eat, the worse it will be (in the presence of high insulin, weight loss is not possible), so the key for me is not to snack and ,limit the times I actually eat; incorporating (albeit by default) intermittent fasting.
I would say, MJ is definitely helping - I feel fantastic, and it is 100% keeping me on track and allowing me to keep on my keto plan, and I already know long term weight loss is not only achievable but manageable too - by the wonderful testimonies on here, but also my belief that I can adopt this way of eating for life.
I hope this helps in some way.
